I am getting such a kick out of hubs, half the time I call and one of the kitties is on his lap, he who doesn't like cats. I talked to him tonight and he said Tigger sat on his lap watching us open presents on the phone screen. He is just not the man I married, LOL! I would love to go home now and see him, but DD and I are here till the 10th. I really miss him and am having a hard time with, I could lose him. We were apart so much I thought if such happened some day I could, I think its just the opposite. But I'm also enjoying spending time with our son and his family. Our son was away so many years I wondered if I would see him again, so that part is working out. Now if I can pull us all together and I think I can it will be nice. Little was adamant he not go to bed at 11. But I let him play in the tub with his boats and he went willingly. We have been playing some rhymes this afternoon. I told him he needs to remember, its time to put your toys away so you can find them another day. And if you pick things up and put them away then you will always know where they stay. He gets a kick out of stuff like that. Son did say one thing he needs is discipline, oh my, you don't think. He and I discuss him being hyper active and how he can help himself, but I wish his mom would give meds a try, I think he would benefit greatly from a small dose and I'm afraid each month that goes by he loses time he needs for help. He does well here too, though today was a bit worse. Likely too much candy and stuff at his aunts last night. He got better as the evening went on. Of course, he is a little boy just wanting to play too and that's just part of it. this weather isn't conducive to being outside. I was reading to day in some of these outlying towns and cities that the educational rate was something like 16%, how in the world can that be in this day and age? And of course those areas have low incomes and high poverty rates, just wow. That is likely the rate of having a college degree.

Condensing app pages on my phone, by categories. The most commonly used ones are on my home screen(s), but the app menu pages were a mess. I had 9 pages! Some with only 4 or 5 apps on them. Searching was ridiculous. I still have 5 pages, but I think it is as condensed as it can be. At least now all like apps are together. I also uninstalled some that came with the phone.

Up early for a couple reasons. We had a mis-communication with DS about what they needed for Miss Grandbaby's daycare this week. DH is now on his way to get Miss Grandbaby even though she was here last night for dinner. She'll be here for today and tomorrow but maybe Thursday also...we'll see. She has her own room here, so it's all good.
I'd probably still be in bed but awake while DH went to get MG, but he broke a dish while he was cleaning out the dishwasher. I got up to help him clean it up so he wouldn't be late leaving. Went ahead and made my coffee. Both DDs are here as well as DD#1's husband. It'll be awhile before they're awake though. DD#2 is leaving today.
Dinner turned out well last night.

I also apparently had good timing for getting it together yesterday. Today is not a good day in that regard. I told DH I was struggling today. His response "How so" Which, I know he's just looking for information, and part me of thinks he likes asking me that just to make me feel worse about feeling low.

Working on taking the advice of my burn out book and therapist and going day by day and trying to find small victories even if all it was getting up this morning despite not wanting to. That's a win.
It did help with my massive existential dread regarding going back to work today. So I feel like that is progress.
I also applied for three more external jobs. Got some solid advice and guidance from my SIL who has been with my current company for quite awhile and could offer me some perspective on things I don't want to openly talk about with my coworkers.
Then I am looking into other career paths, we'll see.

I did end up cancelling my hair appointment for Thursday. Part of the reason was I didn’t feel like getting my hair done. I thought I would have been more up to it by now but am not. Saves me some serious coinage until then. Granted, it’s been 5 months since I had my hair colored so you’d think I would be up for it. 🤷‍♀️

I got up, walked my Dogs, ate breakfast and the Dogs and I are ready for a nap. I didn’t sleep well last night. I should go to work for a few hours though. We have today off, so if I have no motivation - que-sera.

You can see more countertop space today. Another small win. I took care of my counters the other day, but my goal for today is my office. I'm allowing myself to fill a box, but it's to find a better temporary home for the acrylic glassware that will live out at the tiki bar when I put a cabinet out there in the spring. it all has been sitting on my work table where I line up current project docs. that's not okay for my productivity.

I'm eating Chex Mix for breakfast...cuz...Christmas. Stepmom sends us home with huge bags of it.
My only goal for today (and the only reason I plan on getting out of pajamas), is to take DS to the DMV to get his driver's license renewed, since he let it expire back in July. It's proving harder than expected to find legit proof that he actually lives here for the enhanced driver's license.

My dogs like to sleep in their kennels at night, so their Christmas present from me was new fleece (they prefer that to a regular dog bed). Now, neither of them wants to leave their kennel this morning. That fleece IS soft.

I'm wondering if Macy is just not happy with me for some reason. Last night I fell asleep on the couch and when I got up to go upstairs in the middle of the night, Macy jumped in my shower and pooped. She had already went outside earlier when I let them out after I came back from my parent's house. I had planned on cleaning the shower this week anyway, but I guess it's been moved up to today. I cleaned the poop out of it already, but I'm going to scrub it down before I use it again. Off to do that...

Christmas, my most difficult holiday, is over and I survived another year.
I always have sadness on December 26 as my 11 month old niece died of spinal meningitis. Such sadness.
I see a Christmas card is being returned for the wrong address. I checked and I had the incorrect address in my spreadsheet. A new card will go out today.
DN3 sent me a text last night that all financing is in place and they close on their new home a week from Friday. Should be able to get it in working order before baby girl is due to arrive on March 31. I am so glad his stepson will have his own room that isn't up a steep stairs about 2 feet wide. That's because the house was built in 1860.

Last night, only stepbrother’s 2 daughters were there with their family. Thats 2 kids rather than the 7 that were there at Thanksgiving. The son of the oldest daughter is pushing 2, and is starting to talk. His other grandparents are Korean, so he is getting a mixture of Korean and English. He was sitting on grandma’s lap, and eating well from her plate. When mama took him back, ir wasn’t near as fun. Mama did give him the better part of one of the butter tarts, and he was all over that.
Other daughter is married to a tall, blonde curly-haired man and her daughter has blonde ringlets. The 2 kids couldn’t be any different than night and day. She’s getting ski lessons at Whistler for Christmas…..but no snow. They’re hoping by Feb that there’s snow, but we are having a very mild winter this year.
Last night, we managed to unload 2/3 of the pies baked and a good chunk of the butter tarts. MIL brought a big box of Purdy’s chocolates. She’s doing so much better from her fall, but she was looking incredibly frail.

It says they take a recent pay stub as one, but are they financial documents or do they just mean bank accounts? His drivers license would have been one but they won't accept it if expired.
I'm seeing they will accept an official college transcript, so I'll see if DS can order one of those and have it quickly delivered via email. They won't accept unofficial ones.

I always used my voter registration card as proof of address and that was accepted.

Any bank statements or credit card statements can be used for financial documents.
Any mail, even junk mail can be used for proof of address. If you still can’t find enough, send an envelope or card to him in the mail yourself.

If you still can’t find enough, send an envelope or card to him in the mail yourself. We have a list and it says the only mail accepted as proof are bills for utilities. He doesn't have any of those. They take bank statements, but only one...can't have one from the credit union and one from Fidelity for your two proof of address. I think we're good with one bank statement and one paystub if they don't count the paystub as a financial document (and assuming his paystub has his address on it, he hasn't downloaded one yet).

I have not had to visit the DMV for license issues since I got married 14 years ago and it was a huge hassle considering that the state I was moving from and the state I was moving to had a combined database at the time. I went back 3 times because they proof they needed was a utility bill in my name. DH ended up putting my name on the phone bill (landline at the time) and even that was a hassle.
DMVs are a different beast.

Thats bizarre. When I moved out here, I got an enhanced license. I only needed my passport and proof of living here (bank statement). No utilities were in my name. I didn’t have my SS card anymore (since been replaced), but didn’t need it. What would happen if he rented and utilities included? Would a lease agreement be sufficient?

Maybe they're getting stricter? I'm just following their document and I know they were sticklers when I got mine.
eta: Also, part of our problem is he was using so many different address the last couple years so nothing matches. We pulled up his pay stub from when he was working his internship last summer and he has his apartment address that he's not even at anymore. It wouldn't let him change it anymore either, so I made sure he switched everything to paperless, so his W2 didn't end up getting mailed to his old apartment.

Has anyone gotten their SS statement for 2024 monthly benefits, the one that lists gross, withholding, and net? We haven't received ours yet and it seems late. I'm trying to set up our 2024 stuff in Quicken.
We haven't received DH's new insurance ID card yet and Jan 1 is just around the corner

Your tax form showing him as a dependent? Will that work? ETA: how long was his license expired? I know they said not expired, but if it expired recently, maybe they’ll let it slip?

Someone commented elsewhere that SS is waiting for IRS to finalize 2024 withholding rates. If that's true and it goes much longer, a lot of employers are going to have to adjust January payroll on the fly. I remember one year when that happened so the first January payroll was under-withheld and we had to take out extra on the second January payroll when means EVERY employee called payroll to ask why they got less on their second check.
