Dinner was good, I have it all put away but the turkey and dressing and that needs done. I'm pulling the meat off the turkey and DIL is taking the bones to make some noodle soup. So need to get back to that. Son is watching a football game and playing with some drum sticks he got little guy. Christmas was nice. Son is feeling better and I'm still coughing but much better. And grandpa got to watch us opening gifts, he enjoys that. And I miss him. Your DIL taking the bones to make soup reminds me of years back when DH and I went to his Thanksgiving family reunions. The guys always fried 3-4 turkeys and after dinner we gals gathered in the kitchen to pick off the meat and fight over the bones because we ALL wanted them for soup. Nothing better than slow-simmered turkey bone broth with veggies and noodles Bone broth is the main reason I still cook anything on the bone. The exception to that is chicken wings - boneless wings are chicken nuggets, IMO. I drink bone broth every day for the collagen and use it often when fasting.

Just came home from my sister's house. My sister and my nephew know me well as they both purchased beer for me. My nephew even put one in the refrigerator for me. His mom knows me well and said he did not have to as I would bring mine own cold ones.
We watched football with my nephews.

I wanted to watch the KC game but our cable company and CBS (they were showing the game) are in a financial pissing match so no CBS available. Based on the final score, I didn't miss much.

I made biscuits and gravy using my dad's ground pizza sausage. Holy crap that was good. Dogs went nuts for it too. Abby is thrilled with her Coraline button box I made she is showing it off to DH and her sister. I'm stoked. The crystal ball Mixie was a huge hit. It kept Gwen, Abby and Archie entertained for a good hour. Never see all three of them get along like that. How's your face?

Beat and so over full. We left about 8am for Christmas at my Dad's and didn't get home until about 5 then the kids opened their presents here. Now they're putting together Lego sets and I'm collapsed on the couch in my pajamas for the rest of the night. It was a good day, just a lot of driving after being out late last night.

Sounds like despite some of you being kicked down this year Christmas turned out to be pretty decent.
Hubs watched us opening gifts on the phone, he enjoys that as much as anything. DD and little guy had a ball. She even came out of her room for most of the day. They are both happy campers tonight. He wanted to stay over and he got some kind of a set, not lego, and is putting together a big airplane. They played Operation for awhile too.
I have all the trash out, son took a couple of bags as our cans here aren't very big, just the recycle one and I filled it too. The kitchen is clean, everything put away, floors vacced, and I crashed. I cooked today, served, and cleaned. We used paper plates and tablecloth so just pitched all of that, much easier.
Grandson and I are still coughing pretty good, it comes and goes.

How much would you have to hate a parent to do that? That's just horrible.
I called son to check on letting little guy watch a Jack Ryan movie, I don't want to let him do things like that. But sounds like, he is like me, more concerned with him not watching ones like Freddie Krugger and stuff like that. I don't watch those, never have, would give me nightmares.
Looks like grandson is moved back in for awhile. They asked him if he wanted to go home or stay here, he said stay at grandma's. DIL and I both took a nap while son watched football. He is a pretty good kid for me, he knows I won't put up with it. Easier for me than parents some time.
Pretty much it another Christmas ticked off, successful, and done.

Well, even though we had a huge, late lunch, I just ate a late dinner of a peanut butter sandwich. I don’t know how it’s possible that I was hungry again, but here we are. we’re finishing the most recent episode of Fargo. It’s a good night to be sacked out on the couch!

Had a great day with DH and both DDs. Both my parents decided to come over too. I gave them all the info and let them make a decision. Besides feeling like I have a cold, you would know any difference.
Both DDs had a great Christmas I believe. DD1 seemed to love everything that she got. So did DD2, but she also loved unwrapping presents in general. It didn’t matter if it was her’s or not. 🤣 My mom had a lot of help! 😉
My parents left a few hours ago. DH and I are watching football. DD1 is building one of her Lego kits while DD2 is in bed. DD1 will be going to bed soon.
We did speak with DH’s parents and delayed going to their house until the weekend after New Year’s. We had kinda plans to plans to go later this week but are holding off because of me.

Just had a plate of turkey and dressing, very good. I may have some noodles yet. Neither kid wanted any, they had bologna sandwiches, yuck. Not when you have good food available.
Jake Ryan is a series instead of one show, pretty good.

Merry Christmas Everyone! Our day went very well, other than I was supposed to take Mom to Church at 9 am, and I was thinking it was a 10:30 am mass. So, we did not get to Mass this am. We did go on Saturday though. Our Prime rib roast turned out perfect. We wanted to open gifts before company came over, but it was fine. I had kept my Mom’s gift back from our family celebration, and had gifts for my niece and BIL that were here. I failed to give my son one of his gifts (We left it under the tree), and I nearly threw away the earrings DH bought me. Luckily he asked about them. I found them in the second garbage can I went through. I just got a text from my son that his girlfriend is sick. So maybe our roast wasn’t perfect. His gf likes the rare stuff, so idk. I like my meat more on the well done side. DH also ate the rare stuff and he is snoring away.
Daisylu-I am sorry your DH is being difficult. BTDT we had some really rocky times (at least I thought so), but I decided I just didn’t care anymore, and things seemed to get better after that.

Back from Canada and dinner with the ILs. It was a smaller bunch than at Thanksgiving, so a lot quieter. We left in time to hit the NEXUS lanes before they closed at 9 pm. It rained all the way home.
The mutts got dinner and a good walk, so they are good for the night.

I am getting such a kick out of hubs, half the time I call and one of the kitties is on his lap, he who doesn't like cats.
I talked to him tonight and he said Tigger sat on his lap watching us open presents on the phone screen. He is just not the man I married, LOL! I would love to go home now and see him, but DD and I are here till the 10th. I really miss him and am having a hard time with, I could lose him. We were apart so much I thought if such happened some day I could, I think its just the opposite. But I'm also enjoying spending time with our son and his family. Our son was away so many years I wondered if I would see him again, so that part is working out. Now if I can pull us all together and I think I can it will be nice.
Little was adamant he not go to bed at 11. But I let him play in the tub with his boats and he went willingly. We have been playing some rhymes this afternoon. I told him he needs to remember, its time to put your toys away so you can find them another day. And if you pick things up and put them away then you will always know where they stay. He gets a kick out of stuff like that. Son did say one thing he needs is discipline, oh my, you don't think. He and I discuss him being hyper active and how he can help himself, but I wish his mom would give meds a try, I think he would benefit greatly from a small dose and I'm afraid each month that goes by he loses time he needs for help. He does well here too, though today was a bit worse. Likely too much candy and stuff at his aunts last night. He got better as the evening went on. Of course, he is a little boy just wanting to play too and that's just part of it. this weather isn't conducive to being outside.
I was reading to day in some of these outlying towns and cities that the educational rate was something like 16%, how in the world can that be in this day and age? And of course those areas have low incomes and high poverty rates, just wow.

Maybe I’m just meant to not get much sleep, even though I like sleeping.
Mister decided to sleep in our bed tonight, after sleeping in another bedroom since last Tuesday night. I couldn’t get comfortable to go to sleep, so I finally just got out of bed a few hours ago. And I am still wide awake. Fortunately, I don’t have to work tomorrow.
Even after all these years, I just don’t do well sleeping in the same bed as Mister. I guess 20 years of sleeping alone in a queen size bed really has ruined me as far as that goes. Mister was not cooperative a few years ago when I said we need a bigger bed. But we really do, well I do, so imma bring it up again. I don’t see a way around it, since I’ve still not gotten use to it after all this time, so we either get a bigger bed for our bedroom, or just sleep in separate bedrooms. I have so many other sleep issues, I’m over wrestling for space being yet another thing that keeps me from sleeping well.
One of the reasons I got so crazy that my body started rebelling in a major way, is that I got overwhelmed and felt outnumbered, and just stopped speaking up about what I need, and I understand now how trying to stop all the fighting and just try keep the peace in my household just started a war within myself. I am tired of not feeling good, mentally, emotionally, and physically, so I am no longer willing to be quiet to try to keep the peace. If I can’t be myself and ask for what I want, and expect to get it, then this is not the place for me to be.
I am okay with real conversations with Mister, but I am done with all the fighting, and the place I call home, being uncomfortable to me. My expectations are not unreasonable, so I will be vocal and very clear about them, and if that is too much, I will remove myself from the situation. Because even though I’ve tried to just say fuck it, and let a lot of shit go, the truth is that I can’t function and most definitely can’t be my best self in a chaotic household. If me needing some kind of order for the household and requiring a certain level of cooperation and cleanliness makes me a bad guy, that’s cool. I will take my issues somewhere elsewhere I don’t have to fight about trifling kind of shit, and I can relax in a home that is comfortable to me.

Good morning, rested invisipeeps, at peace after a satisfying Monday/Christmas. Welcome to Tuesday, Boxing Day. I hope your day offers you amazing leftovers and time to pursue whatever activities bring you happiness. It was a wonderful Christmas for me and my family, including the prime rib ODB bought and roasted and the desserts I'd baked. In my family we each cook far too much food so we can all have leftovers to bring home. So today or tomorrow or both we will be having a dinner reprise. DH got me a gizmo to take pictures with, that turns my cell phone into a regular camera. I'll have to read about making it work. Foggy this morning. I don't know if it will be clear at the beach. I suspect not. It was warm yesterday, in the 40's at dawn. This was sunrise at the beach, the sun breaking through the low clouds:

On another random note, I have been thinking about bleaching my hair again. I started coloring my hair when I was around 14yo, and until recently, I had color or at least highlights in my hair, more often than not.
I was never afraid to play with bleach and color in my hair until I went natural and stopped relaxing my hair. I understand that my natural hair is a healthier place to start than when it was relaxed, but there is the issue that if bleaching or whatever goes wrong, it will be more obvious with my natural hair, because doing it wrong can mean I will have straight pieces of hair mixed with my curls.
I do have a little gray hair now, but that’s not why I want to play with color. I want to do it because I’ve been doing it since I was a teenager, and I just like doing it. I don’t have a lot of gray, just some gray strands here and there, mostly around my hairline in the front of my hair. Not even that 5% of my hair is gray.
If I had enough gray hair to be interesting, I might not even care about playing with color. The gray could be my color lol.
And I honestly don’t even care about the gray. I am a seasoned woman, and gray hair is just part of living long enough for it to start showing up imo. My desire to color my hair has nothing to do with the gray hairs, it’s just that I’ve always liked changing my hair color or having blonde streaks, or whatever, just because I could, and I miss that.

Exchanged gifts with next door neighbor. We are all going to die of alcohol poisoning and/or chocolate overload. DH is putting Bailey's in espresso and eating Bailey's filled chocolates. This neighbor literally put lumps of coal on the doorstep of the house next to him wherein resides the nastiest imaginable cross between Scrooge and The Grinch. DH said she's so tight and full of $$)%, that if you put a lump of coal up her A%, there would be enough heat and pressure to create a diamond. You must remember DH has no sense of snark, and NEVER uses profanity Is this the neighbor with the fence?

Sister called yesterday morning to tell me that niece had 104 fever so they were skipping Christmas at the parents. I was surprised by the sacrifice. Niece tested positive for flu A. Hope she gets better soon, but I have to say the day was much more enjoyable with not having to deal with asshole-in-law. DH & I dropped off food to their front porch on our way home, so I did see him for 2 seconds in which he was an AH. Whatever, not my problem.
And the Ravens pulled off a great win last night, putting the icing on the cake.

I'm finishing my homemade moonshine. It is SO good! I'd like another jar! (Just sayin') 😁 I got little sample jars at the liquor store and my niece and I tried them. It wasn't that bad. I though it was going to be really harsh, but it wasn’t. I may get full size jars of some of them.

And I found the parts of the project I was fretting about yesterday.
