Please pray for me today, especially while working my 5. Need to download the NJ transit app. Found out yesterday from a fellow bus rider why our bus was late and where it was stuck. Came earlier than I prayed for, so I was happy about that. Turns out my sleep helper med can't be refilled until Sunday or Monday. Next workday is Monday. Still have FMLA stuff to deal with. I realize part of the answer is obvious. My current PCP who was my doctor also in my mid to late twenties will sign the paperwork. Learning how their patient portal works has been mind bending as it works on office location including floor and suite. My new PCP (spring) will be moving to a new location anyway. It is on the bus line, and I know exactly where it is. Wonder if some of my lack of sleep is my hydration is finally pushing old stuff out of my body. That last scrip precautions were super scary. I felt a little better when PCP Now told me why all the minerals were listed. Its a covalent thing, in this case they all have I think 2 free electrons? Science, but I remember that and took precautions. Better stop typing and focus to get ready. .75 one way and perhaps I should buy a roll of dimes today too. for my trips to Pharmacy 1. Going to check weather and see what I am dealing with morning into afternoon. Good luck, throughout your day. I hope it goes well.

I remember after surgery and I finally got something to eat. Well, liquids only, but I was starving. I'm guessing jello counts as a liquid. They gave the green one. I ate it all, but I was pissed off every bite. I would have been happy with black cherry, though. I drank some black coffee to get the taste out of my mouth. I've been very sick a few times in my life. "Last Rites" kind of sick. Many times I was only allowed to have ice chips. When I graduated to water and then to Jello, I knew I was going to make it. That's why Jello has only positive connotations for me. I was going to live! (Everyone loves black cherry. I don't know why they even make the green one.) To put horrible things in it like cottage cheese!!

This evening Mister told me in front of Kiddo that Kiddo was yelling at his Mom this week. So Kiddo and I had another conversation. I asked him what happened when he was yelling at his Mom. He told me she was fussing at him for not getting ready to go to school fast enough, and he was doing what he was supposed to do to get ready. I told him that I understand that we as parents get on our children’s nerves, fussing or whatever, but it’s not okay for him to yell at his Mom. It’s okay to be frustrated or upset, but it’s not okay for him to yell at her. I’m not 100% sure of that advice though, because his Mom gets on everybody’s nerves. Really though in the past she’s acted like she can’t get him to go to bed at a reasonable time when he has school the next day, so he stays up until midnight or whatever, and then is cranky in the morning. Imo, that’s her fault. She’s asked Mister how he gets Kiddo to go to bed and Mister was like “uhhhh, I tell him to go to bed”. Then it is entirely possible that because she doesn’t like getting up in the morning herself, that she wakes Kiddo up at the last minute and ends up rushing him to get out of the house to get to school on time. Which would also be her fault. So I’m not sure I handled that correctly, even though I do believe children shouldn’t yell at their parents, and Kiddo has a history of yelling at the adults in his home. I feel like children should be able to express themselves, even when they are upset or whatever, but I feel like it should be done in a respectful manner, and I think a child yelling at their parent is disrespectful….. but Kiddo’s Mom is something different from the kind of parents I’m use to. The same thing that taught me that children should honor their parents, also says that parents should not provoke their children to wrath. Or something like that lol. Mister has said that his parents both said that Kiddo felt some type of way about his Mom. They had stopped answering her calls besides making arrangements to spend time with Kiddo, because it got to the point that she was even getting on their nerves with all the “woe is me” and whining and complaining. So all the extra shit is wayyyy above my pay grade regarding how normal children should treat normal parents. I still don’t think children should yell at their parents, but I can see how she could get on his last nerve and cause that kind of reaction from him. He is here until Sunday evening, and if I need to revisit the conversation we had this evening, before he goes home, I will. I just don’t know what to say. I don’t feel right condoning him yelling at his Mom, and I won’t, but at the same time, I can see ways that she might be causing him to react to her like that. Since he seems to be willing to talk to me and listen to me, I don’t want to make him think that I’m saying that his feelings aren’t valid and that he can’t express them. I obviously don’t know what tf I’m doing, but I am trying to do right by him as much as I can. OAN, he told me that he remembered at school this week what I’d said about him minding his own business to stay out of trouble, and told me specific instances. He still had a couple of hiccups, but imma go with the possibility that there would’ve been even more trouble if he hadn’t sometimes remembered what I’d told him lol. Alarm clock is a good Christmas present

Originally my plan for the weekend was to bake cookies at my home - alone - today. In theory job 2 should be slow, theres regular kid schlepping, I have a new pet sitting client to meet this morning and 1 to actually start taking care of tonight but it's the slowest day I've had all week and I need the break. Then get together with everyone for marathon cookie decorating tomorrow. Change of plans because apparently my mom's kitchen and little bathroom have the water turned off because of a leak in the basement everyone is coming here even today to bake/cut out cookies.
My mom could tell I wasn't enthusiastic and even dsis eventually texted that her and her roommate could skip today and come over early Sunday instead. But this is our thing. This is the stuff I want to be doing. I've been in such a bad mood all week and I don't want to ruin one of our favorite things to do all year with it. I'm feeling better this morning and hoping it lasts. I have wine if I start to feel myself slipping and I know that's not a solution but I also know the cause and am working on fixing that too.
I do have to think a bit about decorating parameters tomorrow. It's not unusual for us to decorate past 10pm. We were talking about trying royal icing again and I think I'll put the kibosh on that until our valentines day cookie decorating- which is on the calendar already. I have all 3 jobs to work on Monday so we can't be decorating for 10-12+ hours then dealing with clean up the next day.

PSA do not let your husbands feed your pug homemade German sausage.
They will poop their body weight all over your sun room.
It's solid now at least.
Thank God Charlotte is a lab and has the cast iron stomach of her breed.
DHs aunt makes sausage. DHs grandma was from Germany and brought all her sausage making skills with her.
He thought the recipes were lost to time but apparently she taught his aunt and she still makes it every year.
I told him ask for the recipes. While I am not set up to make it I don't want them lost when she passes. I'll put them with my other family recipes.

So I found out the reason I did not get the previous Associate Micrbiologist position is because I am considered too inexperienced due to my CURRENT position with the company and the fact it is in a different department. I am going to have to consult with my dad because I do not have the curse word lexicon to describe how pissed off and insulted I am at a professional level right now. I went back to re read the job description and I can highlight specific sentences in my resume that not only show I have experience but I am BEYOND a lot of people in senior management in both departments in terms of my technical knowledge and I am freaking published. But because of my god damn title right this very moment I can't move up?! What is wrong with this company?! Does all of corporate America work like this?! Not being able to move up because I didn't have a masters or a PhD while annoying I could get it's academics they expect you to have academics. But NONE of my previous experience counts because it wasn't directly associated with the damn department I applied for? God working at Target is sounding better and better! Then I got even more confused and upset because we're talking about developing a plan for me so I can get the relevant experience. Wait five minutes ago I was the dumbest person in the lab who has single handedly destroyed productivity and customer satisfaction. Now I am smart enough to develop so I can move onwards/upwards. WHICH IS IT?! I am going to start drinking. Yup. Wait till you start training that got picked over you, because it was perceived they have the better skills, despite them having 0 experience and you having like 75% experience. On top of helping everyone else that doesn't know what is going on, on top of being expected to do your job at a top level.

Debating whether to quit as board president and quit volunteering as well. I’ve had it up to my eyeballs with the politics. Quit. Life is too short. I used to sit on a advisory group for the kids school. I had the perfect volunteer job. Then everyone, after participating once, decided they knew how to to it better. Opinions and all that. I should have left much earlier than I did. But, you know we are supposed to volunteer. Which. Sure, whatever. They just want their money. We get letters for money. We don't get letters when we don't fulfill our volunteering responsibility. The peanut and I found a couple places that we truly love volunteering at. We'll up our game and bring DD1 along for this upcoming summer because DD1 will need hours for National honors society.

Do you have a tattle tale who feeds your management BS about your performance because she's a miserable bitch who won't retire already? Then your manager also loves drama and eats it up as the God given truth? I can say besides them I have great coworkers. Now one is on a mission to flood our monthly huddle meetings with praise for my attitude at work because A) it's true and B) he hates my manager and knows it'll piss her off.

I'm going to attempt pet photos with Santa with my dog this afternoon. She's really scared of big dogs since a boxer attacked her one day while we were walking. If there are a lot of big dogs around, we'll just go walk around Tractor Supply or something.

I should go you know where today. My niece wants a cologne but doesn't have the money. It's $130 which is more than the $50 limit I set for the kids. This is outside of the free makeup I get with my points. However, I have a $20 coupon and $56 in points, which will bring it down to $54. These kids are spoiled rotten.

Also, Macy pooped in thw house again. I'm trying to decide if it's because she's getting old or if it's behavioral. She had just been outside an hour before, but it was raining, so I'm lucky she went outside.

DD1's Gifts landed at about $60. Which is quite a bit smaller than the others, even though she got the biggest Santa gift. I can get her a small GC to help with some fun spending for her.

I have been there myself and there is a point of no return when it's just too awful to endure. I have one year left on my term and will serve only to thwart some of the political machinations going on to create a vacant position to appoint a buddy to. It's no longer fun when you can't trust anyone and have to guard every word around them.

fanfuckingtastic. I looked out the back window to call LD in from howling at whatever, and noticed he was holding up a back paw - the same leg that was surgically repaired this summer. he's alternating between limping and not, so I'm. not sure. if it's the knee or something else. our vet is closed today, so he's on rest til I can call on Monday. ugh. not what I needed today....

idk. I just basically manhandled his whole leg, including the paw itself, and he never flinched. so he's definitely on lockdown today and tomorrow. that so sucks bc today is another gorgeous day. 😕
I think I'll pull the pen panels across the deck stairs, so Punk can still go outside at least. guess I'm going to be somewhat productive today instead of going to walk the canal. nuts.

OkaybI got my birthday dinner on Monday and hanging out with my BFF on Thursday to get me through next week.
Also helps I took most of it off so only a two day work week.
Then Christmas.
Need to figure out what to do to get me through the pile of suck that is January and February.
Part of my burn out workbook and therapy is find little victories and something to look forward to no matter how small.
I've been sewing again too. My mom had projects she never finished I could start on those.
My current project is a shirt and I'm going to go a step further and fill in the embroidery with fabric paint. Worst case I destroy a $4 thrifted shirt.
Thinking of doing another jacket too. I got a T shirt at 5 Below that is really itchy but I like the design. It'd make a cool black jacket with some bling.

I really hope all is well with LD, chiver78. I pulled 6 burrs off of Franklin the Dog after we traversed the dunes this morning. He had one in his paw that he took out. The others were in the long fur on his legs and on his ears.

Mom made what my sister and I called orange gunk. It was orange jello with something in it that we obviously didn't like. She also made something with green jello. I think with pears. I don't think I have ever made jello since I left home. My grandmom made an awesome jello dish for holidays that my brother has thankfully mastered. It's raspberry jello, mashed strawberries, crushed pineapple, and I forget what else (a little OJ?), set in a 9x13 pan and when it is half set add some dollops of sour cream. It's so good. Orange and lime jello reminds me of being sick as a kid. If my grandmom had to babysit us when sick she'd make a Lipton chicken noodle packet for lunch and give us either orange or green jello. Those are comfort flavors for me.

My dear friend and former boss, who lives in Denver, will be entering hospice care after Christmas.
He is septic where he had his gallbladder removed and he has had an infection in his foot that doctors have not been able to heal in several years. This week that doctor said that foot needs to be amputated. My friend said no.
He will be kept on painkillers and antibiotics and hopefully be able to enjoy Christmas.
When I read his daughter's message, I started crying. That's what I am going to do today. He fought for me at work because it was the right thing to do when he was told to get rid of me because I was a feminist. He coached me to fight for myself without putting upper management off.
He gave me advice on money for so long. He listened to me about my parents' deaths and now I am trying to help his daughter.
He will be missed. He no longer enjoys talking on the phone, so I probably won't get to say good bye.

Hugs, TheOtherMeI'd feed you if you lived closer. And the cats. It's a kitchen day. The missy's birthday cake is cooling, and I have round 1 of breads for breakfasts this week in the oven.
