D u m p is a dirty word, now? that's it - that is replaced by just removing it. there's a few various alternate (original) spellings of Trump's family name, and similar misspellings that are censored at this point. the Politics forum got a lot spicy for awhile. unfortunately, the censored words list applies across the whole board, so all have to play by the same rules. sorry that's not all that helpful. but, you can edit to include the spaces between letters in your post. you're clearly not talking about 45 here.

chiver78 my neurologist had left the practice. I called the practice and they confirmed records were destroyed. I went with the practice since I did know she'd left and I never saw her at the new practice. I'd never be able to get into the dentist 3x a year. I went in October for regular cleaning at a new practice. My so called six month follow up is in May. I'm not happy about this. I'll see if it improves.

Going to Target is almost as bad as going to Costco. We had a list of about 6 things and came out with a cart full. I had sticker shock at DH Gillette cartridges - $30 for 10. I'm thankful they do last well so that will take us well into next year. Heck, I've gone to the store to pick up dozen eggs and those eggs wound up costing $50 a dozen

I have no motivation. Maybe if I shake a box of dog treats it'll coming running? No, but Charlotte and Wilbur will and they are a lot more fun than motivation. Sure glad Charlotte's paw is better. I said I want to find my motivation not be trampled by a herd of wildabeasts like Mufasa.

Finished decorating the tree and am making spareribs for dinner. Now we just need to put all the totes and boxes away.

As we don't do gifts for one another, and DH got a new bike and paid $150 for a hose reel, in January I'm getting the IPhone 14 and trying to find a replacement silver chain for some of my lockets. A James Avery store opened near me and they have a nice variety of chains.

It's a UPS My Choice membership. Once you enroll, you can elect to have all incoming packages to you upgraded. It also applies to my DH's packages. I also get tracking and delivery updates. I don't know why but Ulta has been putting signature requirements on some packages lately and not even high value ones. I am able to signature release it and don't have to wait to catch the driver. Thank you. I will do that now. See this is one of those little tips that I find here on the boards regularly. You really are my peeps

On a heating pad right now. At the store this morning, I slipped on a piece of plastic that was on the floor. It was a stiff sheet, about the size o& my foot and my foot went sliding. Luckily, I didn't go down, but wrenched my back. I had to get m6 nails under it to pick it up to toss so no one else slipped on it.

Figuring out where I can sign the paperwork for the condo without having to pay $180 fee. I am in the sticks and let's say that I am confused at the moment. It's going to be a interesting rest of the day. Holy moly! I hope you find someplace. $180 is a good chunk of money. Especially a few weeks before Christmas. Good luck!

I finally got DH to weigh in on the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day menus. Christmas Eve will be our traditional bagels and lox with capers, red onions, etc. And maybe the crazy good pecan bars from a local Kosher bakery which sort of fits the theme. I'll get the bagels there too-they have 15 varieties made fresh daily.
Christmas Day he wants tamales with Spanish rice. I'll get the tamales from a local place, maybe a mix of chicken, pork, and spinach ones. That sort of means we will need to get some tres leches cake from a local bakery. Which requires lining up for a couple of blocks along the street leading to the bakery, waiting our turn to get in the parking lot on Christmas Eve day, as directed and enforced by sheriff's deputies. They are that good.
We haven't talked about New Year's Eve and New Year's Day yet. We may do New Year's Eve dinner at our local French/Spanish bistro, or may stay home with caviar and blinis, plus a take-out Manchego cheesecake from the bistro. Whatever we do, it will be a late night as my tradition is to celebrate midnight with my neighbors in the street in my big pink fuzzy bathrobe. The neighbors do fireworks in the best or worst way possible - the size and volume truly rivals many official firework displays - so you can't really plan on sleeping until after 2 a.m. Either way, I'll probably do something like a stuffed boneless Cajun chicken and stewed cabbage on New Year's Day.

Going from where to where? I think this is a record-breaking travel season. Flying in January will be easier and cheaper. Is he sitting in the Minneapolis airport? Chicago. Trying to go home. The plane is broken. Many condolences. O'Hare or Midway? What's the last estimate/info he was given?

Our realtor is just the best, we have always had smooth closings with her both buying and selling. She will get at least 2 more listings here from us, about $400 to $500k? hopefully that much. I decided to get her a plant for Xmas, she is facing health issues, has been on antibiotics for an infection in her back and awaiting more surgery so its more than the work. She is a very nice person and though she has a couple of kids she said her grands are now older and don't come like they used to, so I hope it brightens her day a bit.
I went to the assessors office, they still seem so confused about solar, had another person in, same problem with them.
Went to the bank, should have gotten a new debit card, its iffy but hope it will continue working. I did get some extra cash, just in case.
Packed my half of the suit case, not taking much, I have some clothes up there and 4 or 5 outfits should be enough. I don't remember what is up there. I think some socks, bras, shoes, some pajamas, I hope. If I have to get some stuff I will. So next pack DD's things. I'm going to wear this ugly pair of shoes all time I'm there as they support my ankles and arches better than anything so I can walk. Think I'm going to have to break down and buy a small laptop, this was a cheapy son got me and I've been having a lot of issues with it.
Talking to son today, told him hate to have to move but with DD, what can we do. He said there is nothing else you can do, he can't watch out for her from up there. I told him I never intended for him to have to do that, he said what choice do we have? None. I hope I can make it at least 10 more years, halfway healthy to keep her home with me and not in a facility We have no idea how long she may live, she is doing better than I ever thought she would. Her behavior has improved a lot too. Hopefully she can get in a facility with nice adults when she finally has to. That is my constant life long worry, about her. It just never goes away, that worry. I was depending on hubs and now here he is. Hubs said no matter what we buy he is putting it in son's name, I said doesn't matter long as we have a lifetime right to live in it, so I agree with him.

Sleeping on a cot at O'Hare is not a way to get much rest. Ask me how I know.
About the time I finally fell asleep, employees came around at about 3:30 AM to wake us as Security opened at an early hour for overseas flights and they had to do a security check. What a short night.
It could not be helped. A tornado had come through. We saw the windows shaking. Our flight's boarding was delayed so we were inside the terminal. I pity the people that were on the tarmac as they came back to the gate and said it was a harrowing experience rocking and rolling in a plane with no protection.
Luckily, we had taken all of the cots before those people realized they were not going anywhere that night. All planes at the airport had to be inspected for damage.

Also depending on how long it's been since you have seen the doctor, they may have destroyed the records. When the tmj drove me to find a new oral surgeon, they wanted my prior records. I figured out who it was and when from my receipts/EOBs. Called only to find out that my records were destroyed since I was last there in 2016. Definitely agree with azucena especially since in my experience the prior records may not even exist anymore. my stuff's definitely been destroyed, then. the last time I saw my GP was right after I left my 1st adult job, but before the health insurance lapsed. I needed a refill on the clonazepam that the job had created a need for. that was 2015. oops. I did go poking around on Google a few months back, she isn't at the same practice, either. so if my records weren't destroyed, would they stay with the practice? or follow the Dr? the practice was a pretty good sized building, with many specialties in different offices within the building. one-stop shopping for most things. the reason I haven't kept up with stuff is that the office was near my old condo, an hour away. I no longer need the clonazepam, I don't take BC, and I'm generally a pretty healthy individual. I also have a massive case of white coat syndrome, and it took me years of arguing with the intake nurses to put my intake BP on a post-it note and I'd ask the Dr to take it again on my way out. my BP goes up when I walk into a medical office, even if I'm not there to be seen. on the handful of occasions I've needed meds (strep, UTI, whatever) since I moved to the Cape, I just go to Urgent Care. When my stomach started really bothering me, my blood pressure was high every time I went to a doctor. So high that my PCP started talking about putting me on medicine for it, and more than one nurse asked me was I not taking meds for HBP, and looked puzzled when I said no. Every time I’ve been to a Dr since I finally got some answers about my stomach issues, lo and behold, my blood pressure has been back within normal range again. Even when I went to a urologist my PCP referred me to a few months ago, and I was really worried about what they might say was wrong with me (the C word was a possibility), my blood pressure was within normal range. When I went to the Dr a few weeks ago for my sinus issues, by blood pressure was okay, but she commented about my heart beating so fast. I told her it was just because I was in a Dr office, which was true. I actually hate going to the Dr, even though my insurance company would probably disagree, going by all the times I’ve gone over the last few years. I hate going, but I will get over myself and go if I feel like I need to. But my pulse shows that I am sort of distressed, and while I was trying to find answers about my stomach issues, my blood pressure showed that I was REALLY distressed, even when that wasn’t what a particular visit was for.

We had a massive of snow over the w/e and I must admit, it's quite beautiful. I say that because I don't have to shovel. Today, I went to a presentation by my favourite lecturer, Dr. Joe Schwarcz, who heads up McGill's Office of Science and Society. He covered the history of tomatoes, ginko biloba (don't use it), and saffron. Selling fake saffron in Germany used to be punished by being buried alive. You learn something new every day! I really appreciate when you share these little tidbits of knowledge that I would never even think of researching. It is so much fun learning new things!

Luckily, we had taken all of the cots before those people realized they were not going anywhere that night. All planes at the airport had to be inspected for damage. Not quite as bad, but the second time I went to Jamaica, I got stuck at the airport in Atlanta on the way home. Our flight kept getting delayed because of bad storms. I am already pretty much terrified of flying, even though I will do it to go where I want to go. So I wasn’t upset that they were erring on the side of caution regarding whether it was safe to fly in the storms. BUT I had to be at work the next afternoon. I considered just renting a car and driving home, because I was worried about getting to work on time the next day. A 5-6 hour drive vs a flight less than an hour, but my flight had already been delayed for as long as it would’ve taken me to drive home. We were finally able to fly out, and I got home in the wee hours of the morning. The first time I went to Jamaica, when we were getting ready to land in Atlanta when I was coming back home, there was the descent to the runway, and suddenly the plane swooped back in the air, at an angle steep enough to feel it. There was another plane in the way on the runway, so we had to go back in the air to avoid a crash. Did I mention that flying terrifies me? That experience almost gave me a heart attack!

It's not like we don't get snowstorms shutting down airports around here! At least he got a good taste of what can happen without it being a more than one day deal.

The active ingredient in tomatoes is lycopene. I asked him. 'LYCOpene? Does the name have anything to do with wolves?" He said he didn't think so. TaDa!! The name lycopene is derived from the tomato's species classification, Solanum lycopersicum where lyco is Greek for "wolf," and persicum means "peach," and thus meaning "wolf-peach." www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/Lycopene#:~:text=The%20name%20lycopene%20is%20derived,meaning%20%22wolf-peach.

Thank you. I will do that now. I think I have everything set up so my packages won't go to the post office. There is one sitting on the front porch that got handed off to USPS this morning. I have another one coming from Lands End that seems to be lost in the system. Over the weekend, it said it was in Dubuque. Now it only says it's en route. Good thing it's for me Third party delivery sometimes messes things up. Have you called Lands End customer service to ask for a projected delivery date?

Many condolences. O'Hare or Midway? What's the last estimate/info he was given? O'Hare and they just took off a couple minutes ago...6 hours late. He was starting to get worried he was going to have to spend the night and he has an important class (I'm thinking test but he didn't want to say that part) in the morning. O'Hare often seems to be the home of delays because of its location. My dad was proud of how O'Hare organized taxis and he pointed it out either when he picked me up or when I left. I do not remember. Part of me was horrified as it showed how much bigger it had become and that it could even support a line of at least 150 cabs or so. (When I flew out that January for mom s memorial service.) So, are you going to call him in the afternoon tomorrow and ask how things went?

My motto is "If you can't beat them, join them". Every year hundreds of my neighbors whine about the fireworks which does absolutely nothing as Houston's government gave up long ago. So I drink some really good stuff, go party in the street with folks for a bit, and plan to nap the next day. Sure beats melting down and freaking out about something outside my control.

I might be returning home this January to see dad, my YS and my BFF from HS. Not sure. Appears the kids of my BFF want to help fund me to see my dad and her. Dad would sometimes pick her up and then the three of us would hang out in Milwaukee and do WI things on the way back home. We both remember the last time we ate at a very good German restaurant in Milwaukee. So help me pray that I can pick a good time in January to go. This time I am saying yes. I sometimes kick myself for not going home to see mom one last time. YS thinks he is too ornery to die. I agree with BFF that now is a good time. Two of her kids have December birthdays and hers is in January. Awed. Sad. And grateful. Hope I can get it all to work out. I told her maybe two of her kids need to belong to me ... and when its time they can put us together in a facility...
