I need y'all to send some powerful juju my way or I might respond to a friend's FB post "If you take your kids to the mall to meet Santa, why don't you take them to church to meet Jesus?" And it would not end well If Jesus is everywhere and in our hearts, why do we need to go to church to meet him? I was thinking of something along the lines of not really wanting my kids involved with fictional characters which is why it would not end well

We want to see pictures of the dogs in pj’s. I did not take pictures this morning or yesterday, but here’s a pic of Newbie when I first bought the pj’s a couple months ago and tried to see if they fit her. I was hesitant about posting this picture, because it is obvious in the picture why the dark wood floors in my house drive me nuts, but I decided “whatever”…. reasonable people that don’t have dark wood floors may see why they are so problematic (imo), and other people with dark wood floors will understand lol. Anyway…. She is adorable! I saw a video yesterday about pitties that love being dressed for warmth.

Fixed breakfast, did a little dusting and we started putting up the Christmas decor. We'll finish this afternoon. Talking to financial advisor in 25 minutes which will be interesting. DH is on such thin ice with me the cold water is about halfway up his butt hole

We watched the Snow Bowl last night (Buffalo vs. San Francisco) and it was amazing - sort of a hybrid football and Winter Olympics. I have to hand it to San Francisco, they really tried hard in very unusual conditions for them. I kept wondering how all the fans were ever going to make it home

Newbie is one of the most chill dogs ever. She doesn’t care about wearing clothes, coats or whatever. But that time when she had to wear doggy diapers before we got her spayed, she was thoroughly disgusted with us lol. She’d let us put them on, she was clearly not happy with us about it. I have a picture somewhere, I took it right after we’d put one on her, and the way she was looking at me was hilarious.

My surgery is the day after tomorrow, and I'm terrified. They use Celebrex and Tylenol for pain control. I can't take Celebrex. I hope that doesn't mean that I'll only be geting Tylenol after they scoop out my insides.

Those people drive FWD vehicles in the snow. 4 feet of snow. They are used to it. What other fanbase of any sport is in the stadium shoveling? Buffalo fans are hard core.

Check in here when you are able.

yay, the guys I booked for yard cleanup are here now. I wasn't sure when they were coming, I just said add me to your list. I could likely handle it myself (I'd be keeping up with it as leaves fell...) except that I don't have any tools powerful enough to be able to shear down the huge sea grass that grows around/to shield the big generator. so LD is now running around, losing his mind at the two guys outside. I unpacked the Shark vac today as well, it's charging now. I'm going to wait to try it out til tomorrow, the pups will be at the groomer so I won't traumatize them any more than the yard guys are lol... I need to figure out where it's going to live/charge as the power cord gets plugged in at the top of the handle. that makes sense when you realize that's where the motor is, in order to accommodate a Dustbuster arrangement by putting the handle directly on a small brush without the stick at all. but, it means if I don't want a bunch of wires hanging down for the pups to clothesline themselves on, I want a higher outlet. that means kitchen or bathroom vanity. it's in the main bath now, I guess that can work. it's charging pretty quickly so it won't be in the way for a long time.

Best wishes that you can stay calm before surgery and you are given the best painkillers. Tramadol is often used. Don’t hesitate to ask

With any luck, I'll be out by Friday. They want you in and out as quickly as possible. I'll be getting visiting nurses to come and check on my progress, look for signs of infection, supervise my bathing, etc.
That's why I gave all my jewellery to Alan and his husband for safekeeping. He wanted to know if I made a list of everything in the pouch. "I don't need to. I know exactly what's in it. Every night, I spread all my jewellery out on the bed and roll around in it, like Scrooge McDuck".
But seriously, I have two gold bracelets that are worth $12,000, if not more. I don't need any sticky-fingered temp nurses around, looking to enrich themselves.

My GP prescribed it for me for my spinal stenosis and it didn't even make a dent in the pain. I'm going to need a good half hour to tell them what I can and cannot take. Edibles don't work on me either, not that they'd be giving me any.

My extremely mellow dog and my son's extremely mellow dog got into it once. Mine was slightly smaller and her mouth was ear level to the bigger dog. She managed to nip the bigger dog's snout and ear. We took the dog to urgent care and they cleaned her up, no stitches. They gave her an antibiotic as I recall. The dogs weren't the best of friends but they did tolerate each other for the most part. Both dogs were walking into his kitchen, mine following the bigger dog. A tube of gift wrap fell over unexpectedly and the big dog, who was skittish, got spooked and tried to reverse course out of the kitchen but my dog was right behind. That freaked out my dog. I felt like you did. I never would have guessed the dogs would have an encounter like that. My SIL's chihuahua bit my 150 pound lab/newfie mix on the snout and drew blood. My dog was just laying there and the devil spawn attacked her. The chihuahua is lucking my dog was way chill because she did nothing, just looked at the dog like she was crazy. Then the chihuahua would attack my cat every. single. time. they came over. The cat would do its best to hide and avoid, but the chihuahua would track her down. The cat would fight back and shred it's nose. I hated that dog. That is why I hate little dogs. I hate the yapping and they have little man syndrome most of the time. Chihuahuas are evil. I'm considering having our family reunion at the new house since I have plenty of room now and the place we had it at last time sucked. My cousin likes to take her little dog everywhere though. I would have to tell her she can't bring it and hope for her dog's sake that she listens.

I stay up to late and get up to late, sigh. I need to clean in here today, my floors look awful after Thanksgiving. And though hubs takes his shoes off, he tracks in leaves before doing so. Wouldn't you know, we have the only damn tree in here that sheds leaves in the lawn and road. I'm sure we should be raking them out of the street, but it's been too wet. I did rake some out of the street a week ago.
It has been getting near freezing here, but we are in a kind of gully I guess you would say, and our temps are a few degrees warmer, so not complaining about that. We have no heat vent in the big back bathroom, but the room doesn't get cold. I figured it would be freezing in there. We have looked all over and nope none in there but not going to worry about it. I'm not sure that it ever gets in the minuses here, so we are good. And if need be, we could put a heater in there.
I know I need to do all kinds of stuff and clean and straighten, hubs said oh wait, we can do it next summer. I hope so.
