My almost second husband was from a very different culture. It caused many issues. So much that ways upon ways were developed to help bridge the gap. We had an ever expanding set of magnets we used on the fridge door to help when perhaps one or the other was getting the mental state etc. wrong. So there were magnets to denote anger (red), sad (blue), spiritual (white) yellow (happy) etc. We might have even had one of those poem type magnets on the fridge or nearby to create words if needed. Every human relationship is unique. P.S. The man I would like to become my second husband or at least a notable romance in my life is from a similar culture. Grew up in an adjacent state to my birth state. Much easier though could use magmets or interpretative dance at times ... The magnet thing sounds like more work than I am willing to expend right now. Mister and I are both adults, imo, we should be able to state how we are feeling at any given time. And for me, just saying I’m in a mood and need some time to myself would be enough, without having to describe exactly what the mood entails. That is one of the things I liked about this house when we first saw it, it’s not huge, around 2500sf, but the layout is such that we can be in different parts of the house, getting some alone time, without disturbing each other. I don’t mean to knock your magnets if that is a solution that works for you, but I prefer my partner to just use his words and tell me what he needs or wants, or what he is feeling, and we can go from there. I have started to think that maybe I just expect too much of other people. But that doesn’t really sit well with me, because I don’t expect more than I am willing to give.
That is one of the reasons I like dogs more than I like most humans. Dogs are simple, and tend to want more than anything else, to please their humans. If they trust their humans and know what is expected of them. Humans are complicated and tend to want to please themselves first and foremost.
So, since I am a human, imma get back on board with just doing what pleases me, first and foremost. Other humans can like it or leave it. I struggle with this a lot. I don't feel that I am demanding, but too often feel disappointed in what others bring to the table. I'm often left feeling that I'm the only one making an effort and it gets old really quickly.

It appears that I am back right where I was when I found out I was pregnant with the missy, I have choices, and they are all undesirable. The best I can do is pick the least worst of all the bad options. It's getting old.
And at least I know there's no way in hell i can be pregnant. Just want to clarify
Thanks for the clarification.

I'm still trying to figure out why Alexa was playing Holly from SiriusXm when I woke up this morning.
I don't remember getting up in the night and the cats were where they were when I was falling asleep.
Did I tell her in my sleep?

Charlotte needs to go to the vet. She ripped a toenail off and is in pain. She snapped at Wilbur when he stepped on it.
We think it might be infected she's pretty lethargic and is eating grass to throw up.
And Abby has lice. Which means I probably have them.
Happy end of November people.

Good turn out at SLAP tonight, we went to a barbecue place. It was ok.
Found out last night that Mykonos is closing its doors for good after 12/31. It’s a fabulous Greek restaurant that is run by a family. I’ll be sorry to see it close its doors, as it’s one of m6 favorite places.
It started raining this evening, and it’s supposed to rain the next 7 days. Yuck.

Annoyed. I bought TurboTax from Sam's Club on Black Friday and accidentally got the CD version instead of the digital download. Not a huge deal I guess, but I'll have to dig around and find an external drive somewhere. I'm sure we have some here, just a matter of finding one.

The magnets were something born out of the fact that two highly intelligent people could not sync with just words. In fact, as a XBF sometimes the cultural divide rears its head out of the blue. Do you rememebr the couple that we had dinner with and then we smoked weed? He asks. Ummm no, I'm thinking because I have never smoked weed. Do you remember the couple we had dinner with that was Italianish, and kept saying Happy Wife, Happy Life? Ummmmmmmmmmmmm no, but I think I know who it could be. I think he is Irish. And he would have been saying that for his wife's benefit not yours or mine. Thing is last year I think we had almost the exact convo. I was like is it rerun week? What in the hell does your indirect self really want?! What goes on in these massive family gatherings? When I first met him his energy was so strong and discordant with mine, I felt sick and it took months before I could eat a meal when he was around. Assistant branch manager just came back from India, and her energy was very much like that. Threw me off my game multiple times. In fact, I was the only teller working when the head teller and my boss did something that I usually assist with, but I knew I would screw up in this state. I think those in the collective must sense weakness or feel they've gotten advice on how to mold me to their will. (Hah losers, I'm over 60 now. prepare for massive disappointment.) I literally asked for her help and she said I'm not getting up from this desk... you are supposed to do this (I know sherlock ... it will be a better customer experience if you get your sorry asst mgr ass over here and do this one damn thing TYVM) So of course, I say no not doing it, and proceed to keep my ass where it is and verify things via computer before I go to the drive through and engage with the customer again. Then she had to do a "I'll tell C I'll tell C" shit. I told her go for it, I will talk to C too. Then, she came over to talk to the customer sweetly and actually confirm what I did while in chair with my limited computer access. In banking life certain transactions are flagged at dollar amounts or type levels since Mr. Patriot Act. As not PNC, we also have different procedures. I have been with bank less than two years. She proudly has been there more than 10 years less than 15. She is the worst trainer I have ever had. She will come over when I am doing something, have no plan in mind except C told her she needs to teach me Y, today. And she forces me to do it right away. Which would be fine if we were actually doing it on behalf of a customer or something, but she just wants to check the box off, spend the minimum time ... need to sign off, dr appt and marathon day ahead.

I know I just talked about donating my old stuff, but I'm a lot weirded out by using other people's old dishes. thankfully, I'm not in a position to need the charity like that. I've had this set about 20y now, I bought it not long after buying my first condo. while I am sad about not having this beautiful pattern when I move on, it's definitely served me well. I can find something else to make me smile Do you not let anyone else use the dishes that you own? What's the difference if you wash it? You can buy new in box Corelle off ebay though. Those serving bowls looked to be about $18 NIB. I get her ick. We all have our quirks. I won't wear second hand clothes or shoes. People always tell me "you can just wash it". No girl, I don’t know what you been doing in those jeans. I can’t stomach the idea. No hate to those that do it, it's just not for me.

Sadly, I have to wait until Halloween if I need to buy more dishes. Only time I can find them with skulls on them. Do you want me to look on the zon? I can find just about anything. I am the queen of shopping.

I am tired. Books are caught up, 2 items to do, prorate 2 insurance bills and I just quit for tonight. It's all looking good.
Washed our linens today and put back on the beds. Cleaned cat fountain and 1 litter box, other done last night. I am still doing laundry some nice clothes of DD's and mine I wash separately on mini cycles.
Got my 3 boxes sealed and labeled will send tomorrow. A couple of bank deposits ready and one bill paid to mail.
Called Dish and got that service cancelled, we had had it on hold to see if we missed it and nope, so another bill gone, YES!
Items need to do before leaving:
Pick up pants and top in city, get matching top if they have one.
Write to attorney about end o LLC this year and set up appointment to make minor changes to our will.
Check on RMD's, make sure one in particular will happen, the rest are automatic
Check on Sirius to see if we are getting the best rates, complimentary expired on the Buick.
Flea treatment for cats and on Sat morning see if they can keep them for a week. Maybe be too late but we are waiting on hubs issue, he may end up staying home and caring for them, he would rather. I don't understand hubs would rather stay home than spend time with our only son and family. He is odd like his mother. I wonder if she had love for anyone or anything.
Get exemption in for solar panels on property taxes
Get balance of bill on carpet for tax backup at last house we sold, didn't get bill or hubs tucked it away, its paid.
have to make sure we have enough meds.
Need to get all this done by the 7th, oh and get with behavior rep about an outing for DD for the 5th.
Ok off to hang up more clothes from the dryer and its 12:30, I'm pooped.
I think DD's recons will have to wait till I get back

Good morning, indefatigable invisipeeps, as you make your way through the days. Welcome to Friday in December! You made it this far. Got to choose your accomplishments to focus on and celebrate, and making it this far is definitely one. So plan on a small individual celebration and do it. You could have hollandaise sauce with your eggs, or listen to an entire beloved album, or wear happy socks, or drink eggnog, or light candles in your bathroom when you have your shower or bath, or splurge on a new socket wrench, or call someone you love but haven't spoken with in a while. So many choices. It's warmed up considerably in the past 24 hours. Now it's in the 40's. Have to get out my lighter weight winter coat, put away for Thanksgiving. Today I need to prepare for having a table in a fair tomorrow. I don't expect much at all from this one. It's at a Catholic school in a town I lived in during my teen years. DH signed up for it thinking he'd sell some cards and I think/hope he will, at least enough to cover the fee. Got what I think is the last box of a shipment of frames from Michael's yesterday. They had a BF buy one get two free sale so I went for it. Hoping that will take us through most of next year. And yesterday I got a sweet image of dawn at the beach:

Well, that doesn't help my problem. I found a drive, but apparently you can digitally download even if you buy the CD, you just use the access code on the CD. I don't know why I bought it. I was going to give TT the boot this year because they charge so dang much for e-filing state returns, then I saw it on sale and clicked the Buy It Now button. Stupid.

I had a dream the other night that I was working and broke my glass color cups. I ended up stepping all over them. My dad somehow appeared and was trying to get me to sit down to let him treat my feet but I refused and insisted I couldn't stop so I kept walking on broken glass to get shit done. This is what the internet says walking on glass in dreams means If you are surrounded by broken glass and forced to walk on it in a dream, this is a clear sign that you feel stuck in your waking life. If there are challenges and obstacles that you are struggling with, this anxiety can manifest as dreams of stepping on broken glass.Gee you think?! Since it was at work and then my dad appeared obviously it's work and my grandmother. Which. . .duh. I do appreciate when my brain is a bit more literal because when it gets too deep into metaphors I remind it that I really need it to be more specific because the list of crap I am dealing with is rather long.

You know, I just started remembering my dreams again at night.
Not too often, but it's better than nothing.

I have started to think that maybe I just expect too much of other people. But that doesn’t really sit well with me, because I don’t expect more than I am willing to give. I feel the same, alot, actually. I struggle with it. I don't talk about it much because I don't want to come off as a pompous ass. It's been on my mind quite a bit.
I feel you both. Here's a prime example...for more than 20 years, I'd been getting up between 5 and 6 to work early so I could pick up the kids after school. DH would still be asleep, so I snuck around in the dark and did things like not turn on the bathroom light until I'd closed the door and turn it off again before I opened it. As work has gotten messy the last few months, I've relaxed my start time until 7ish. DH gets up at 630 and doesn't bother to be quiet. He not only turns on the bathroom light, but he'll plunk stuff on the bed as he's getting ready. Then he goes out to the kitchen to start coffee and isn't the least bit quiet about that either. Most mornings, he watches videos with his coffee with no regard for the volume. Doesn't bother to close the hallway and/or bedroom door. I've been reluctant to bring it up because it should just be common courtesy. Will likely start a fight where he'll have no recollection of the years I've been quiet in the dark. Beyond frustrating. ETA - plus it makes me petty about my sleep, so I end up resetting my alarm for a bit after he and the kids leave the house so I can finish a solid 20 mins without noise.

I’m in my car in the school parking lot. I’m trying to out on my happy face. Today is day 5 of the first goal of getting through 15 work days.
Here’s an email that my boss sent to me yesterday:
Can A and C please do some cross training so balls do not get dropped when C is out?
That’s the entire email.
I have no idea what ball was dropped.

Charlotte is feeling better today. She ate her breakfast. Then proceeded to shove Wilbur out of his bowl and eat his breakfast too. I came out of the bathroom to find her buried in his bowl. He was sitting in the girls room with a very confused look on his face. I told her being sick does not excuse you being an oinker. We don't eat our brother's breakfast. I gave him second breakfast. DH is taking her to the vet later today to have them check out her paw. Last time they wrapped it up so she wouldn't lick it. We'd like to have them do that again so if Wilbur accidently steps on her she doesn't try to take his head off again. He gave her submission kisses and all was good.

He's constantly responding to items that have progressed an add'l 2+ emails. Plus, I've also been watching that he never uses the reply all button. He seems to either respond just to me or to pick and choose who to reply to from the email. Last week, I got a little snarky and responded privately just to him and asked why he chose to leave 2 people off of a list of 5 instead of just replying all. He emailed back, oh I guess I forgot to type those two in. <facepalm> Way to miss my point, dude.

Family birthday dinner for dc went well but was late again. I put in reminders on the calendar next year so that hopefully dh doesn't try to convince himself that it will cook in 30 minutes again.
Trying to get the last of the fishy smell out of the house this morning.
Busy weekend. Dc has class, I'm talking to the dojo owners about joining the teacher class - which is exciting and terrifying. Dc friend party needs a little prep work, the actual party time, and then it's dc and I's weekend to clean bunnies again too. I just want to sleep and clean and do projects. But it'll be good.

It's become a running joke for my analyst and I to count his misspellings any time he shares his screen. Meanwhile, in most applications, they are underlined in bright red with autocorrect readily available if he'd just slow down and pay attention.

Is he older? Is he aware a reply all button exists? It sounds like he spends time typing each individual email address in. He's early 50s. His response confirmed my guess that he types in each address. Why? Just why?! It's become a running joke for my analyst and I to count his misspellings any time he shares his screen. Meanwhile, in most applications, they are underlined in bright red with autocorrect readily available if he'd just slow down and pay attention. I'd be tempted to take a screen shot of the email and then put a big red circle around the "reply all" button with an arrow pointing towards it saying "USE THIS!"
