When I got up yesterday and this morning, the dogs had their pj’s on. They looked so cute! We bought them pj’s a couple months ago, because Mister does go along with me needing the house cool at night because I get so hot. But I compromise as much as I can during summer, to try to not overwork the a/c, but when it gets cool/cold outside, we let the house get cooler at night. The dogs don’t really do well being cold, so that is why they are wearing their pajamas now. I have seen all kinds of cute stuff I’d like for Newbie, sweaters and even a denim jacket for when we go out. They don’t seem to make as much cute (to me) stuff for male dogs, even though I wouldn’t mind “dressing” Boy too. Boy gets excited when we put his pajamas or coat on him, and gets to be such a wriggly butt that it’s hard to put it on. Then he doesn’t want us to take it off. Newbie doesn’t care about any of it, we can put her stuff on or take it off with no problem. I am picturing them in red silk pajamas. 😂

But the pj’s they have now are made of material to try to help them be warm during the night. Don’t give me any ideas though lol. There is a woman whose posts I’ve seen on FB, and even though she doesn’t dress him, the way she pampers her dog is unreal lol. She uses a contraption to clean his paws, which I am actually interested in myself. Don’t judge me lol. But she also inspects his paws, puts oil or cream on them, washes his face, and puts oil or cream on his face, and just does a lot that most people don’t do on an everyday basis with their dogs. I’m not knocking her when I say this, but it seems to me that she is probably single with no children, given the time and attention she gives to her dog. I think Boy would love that kind of attention since he seems to think that when Mister washes and moisturizers his face in the morning, Mister should also at least wash Boy’s face too, and Boy is all for getting his face cleaned when Mister cleans his own face lol. If pj’s and dressing them really does become a thing and a habit, I will make sure you see a pic of them in some red silk pajamas.

I'm so grossed out! Jackson just brought me a dead rat from the backyard. I don't know if he killed it, but he decided that I needed it. Luckily I got him to drop it, but it's outside on the steps to the deck. I'm hoping that a scavenger comes to get it overnight. If not, I'm going to have to get my shovel out and throw it away. Ugh!

And her dad chose today to blow up her phone insisting she answer. She replied that she's going thru too much today and she'd talk tomorrow. His response was to say she needs to be grateful bc he's the only reason she didn't go home with her mother after that mtg a couple weeks ago. Holy fuck, gaslight alert. She texted that she's not sure when he will be unavailable again so she's allowed to be guarded. He accused her of rewriting history and reminded her that she needs him to get any medical appts. Holy fuck, lack of emotional intelligence alert. And did I mention we have 3 inches of snow in the ground. Drove the last hour home in it last night. I want to go back to the beach. Shit! Talk about jumping from the frying pan into the fire. You’ve got one parent playing stupid control games and you’ve got another blackmailing her for medical treatment. BT just can’t get a break. Some people should never have had kids if they’re going to use them like this. Can you store these messages to show her case worker? There needs to be a paper trail of the shit coming from this direction too. Yeah, messages are saved. Both of us realize that this means bio mom is fully in his ear and making him think that we have turned Teen against him. Meanwhile it's really just us affirming that it's okay for Teen to set healthy boundaries.

On Friday the case worker from Sept called and left me a voice mail checking if bio mom had taken us to walk in dental appt yet. Prob good I didn't talk to her bc I wouldn't have been able to nicely tell her how far behind she is.
Bio dad keeps texting her, realizing we didn't write down therapy appt for this week so kinda hoping it's tomorrow. Teen ended up going shopping with her middle school math teacher who is great support. Teacher was able to talk thru the texts too. Hearing it from multiple people helps some.
I'll need to decide how to handle bio dad when he throws it all at me next. Friggin mess.

I walked into our bedroom where Mister was, his phone rang and when he answered it, it sounded like YD was asking him about something he’d said he wanted to talk to her about. He said “we’ll talk about it, but not right now”. Then he said “it’s about your curfew”. I heard the last part as I was exiting stage left, and leaving the bedroom, even though I hadn’t done what I’d come in the bedroom to do.
I don’t know how the conversation went or ended, when I came back to the bedroom some minutes later, he wasn’t on the phone. I didn’t ask about it.
I didn’t know YD even had a curfew, she seems to come and go as she pleases. Maybe Mister said something because when she came home this morning at 3:30am, and Boy woke us up barking when he heard her coming in the house, idk. He does often bark when she comes home in the wee hours of the morning. I don’t want him to teach him that it’s bad to bark when he hears somebody moving around in the house in the middle of the night after we’ve gone to bed, so I have spoken to her directly and said it’s not her fault that he barks, and asked her to just please say something like “hey Boy, it’s me” when she’s coming in, so he knows it’s her and doesn’t make a fuss and wake us up.
Even when I get out of bed in the middle of the night because I can’t sleep, he wakes up when I leave the bedroom, but when I head back to the end of the house where the bedrooms are, he will bark and fuss if I don’t quietly say “It’s me Boy” or something like that, so he can recognize my voice and know that it’s me that he hears walking through the house.. He has never made a sound since I learned to do that, even though he might still be at the bedroom door when I get to it. I don’t think that’s too much to ask, instead of making him be a “bad” dog for barking when he hears something in the middle of the night. I want him to bark and make a fuss if he hears someone moving around in our house in the middle of the night, because it really could be an intruder, but I’d also like for the people that live here to be on the same page IRT what to do to keep him from barking and fussing if it’s one of us coming home or going back to bed late at night.
Idek if that’s why Mister wants to have a conversation with YD about her curfew. I didn’t even know she had a curfew. When she leaves with her BF, she comes home whenever, even if it’s the next day. But that’s not my business, besides wanting her to cooperate with the request that when she comes home after we’ve gone to bed, just saying something quietly so Boy knows it’s her and doesn’t wake us up and fuss until he realizes it’s her coming in the house.

Well, we had a crazy thing happen today. We went to Costco and bought several items including a few bottles of wine and a bottle of Kirkland 5 times distilled vodka. It's ordinary vodka that comes in a tall bottle with a rounded shoulder at the top. DH and I were loading the purchases in the back of our SUV when there was smoke and something was burning. The Arizona sun shining through the curved shape of the bottle was burning the cardboard box that the liquor was in. This was at 10:30 in the morning. The whole event took less than 2 minutes, I couldn't believe it.
I am a glass collector, and I know why you don't put some glass in the sunlight as to prevent your home from burning down. I picked up a collector paper weight a few years ago. I once left it in the sun and felt my furniture getting very warm. There is a reason the fortune teller keeps a cover over her crystal ball. Today the crystal ball was a vodka bottle in the back of a Yukon. Can you imagine the phone call to the insurance agent? I burnt my car up loading vodka in the sunshine?

Winding down. It's been a packed 4 days. Lots of traveling, lots of food, lots of movies and board games with the kids and we somehow managed to get quite a bit done around the house as well. The tractor tire is fixed (that was an ordeal that took an entire morning), the manure got spread, the snow fence installed, the tree put up, the fridge cleaned out of old expired food and restocked with new and I got my semi-annual shoe shopping trip done with Carrot. He is growing so fast shoes only last months. He's a size FOURTEEN now! Not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow, but at least it's the beginning of the month, so I'll be crazy busy...and I have Friday off. I have to get back on track with my eating too. Being back on my normal schedule will help with that.

Have a heating pad on my back. Too much sNOw shoveling today. Thought we were in the clear as nothing fell overnight. Well started snowing around 9:00 AM and it seems like it finally stopped around 10:00 PM. There is a small section of my driveway that has not been shoveled once. I did make sure the apron of the driveway was cleared the last time I went out.
Need to go to bed soon.

I did not take pictures this morning or yesterday, but here’s a pic of Newbie when I first bought the pj’s a couple months ago and tried to see if they fit her. I was hesitant about posting this picture, because it is obvious in the picture why the dark wood floors in my house drive me nuts, but I decided “whatever”…. reasonable people that don’t have dark wood floors may see why they are so problematic (imo), and other people with dark wood floors will understand lol. Anyway….
