I probably dislike trump as much or more than anyone. However, we are watching Rosalynn Carter's funeral. It is all very classy except, Melania Trump is there and they have not once acknowledged her in any way. They did say all the first ladies a few times, but the rest they said by name. I have been snubbed before and its definitely not a good feeling. Unless it was directed from the family this should not have happened. They are a good family and it seems odd to me, when they preached love that this would happen. Why can't all parties stop doing such as this. Well let her eat cake. In the words of that first "lady" herself: I really don't care. Do U?

With windchill it is low 20s now. I do not have the clothing I had when I lived in IL and IN. MPL, I m worried about my door lock to my place. I am a little more protected than the first floor peeps, but it really depends on how the wind blows and the sustained wind direction. I washed my car last night which probably wasn't wise, but it was top to bottom salt. How bad is it? I just saw the lake effect snow related crash in Ohio.

I normally dread going to the doc but I'm in a much better headspace now because I am compliant with his wishes and don't have to worry about either his sad face or being kicked out of the plan. My blood pressure is good, and although at a 1/2 dose of the statins my cholesterol is probably not perfect, I think it is still relatively good. I have been really following his diet directives with no more than 1-2 servings of red meat per week, plus limited amounts of baked poultry and fish. He really favors a veggie-centric diet and I enjoy that too so I think we are good there. Friday's blood draw will tell the tale on the cholesterol

In the words of that first "lady" herself: I really don't care. Do U? CG2 Melania might be snubbed also because of what she did and did not do. Melania did the least of any former first lady in my lifetime. In addition she actively plagiarized some of her speeches and gave no credit to her staff when they found a cause for her to embrace. And, most importantly there is no evidence that she has even tried to stop DJT from destroying our democracy. How is the funeral going? It is good Melania is there, because that will be remembered more than her snub later in history. MO.

I am SO FREAKING TIRED of coughing constantly! It has been going on for 2 weeks. I had a cold, when it started. I plan on calling the clinic, where my PCP works at 8am, to see if I can get in to see someone tomorrow, as a 'sick, walk in' appt. I'm not thrilled to see a different doctor, because they always ask a bunch of questions, that don't pertain to the reason I'm there. And I keep thinking that they're not going to give me anything, or do anything for me. Except tell me to drink lots of fluids and get some rest. But desperation is setting in. Sometimes I get coughing so much, I can't even get a grasp of air. And tonight I was coughing so hard, I threw up. Yuck. Neither Coricidin HBP, or Mucinex is helping. I'm over it. I just want it to stop. HAPPY TUESDAY! The only time I have ever coughed like that is when I had whooping cough. I wasn’t horribly sick, but the cough did me in. There are prescription tussin pearls you can get that did seem to help. Catching up on the day, so I'm late, but when I read cough until TMR threw up my immediate thought was also whooping cough. My doctor diagnosed me from the next exam room, lol. I'm surprised I never broke a rib. During my coughing fits I'd go from being upright to on the ground gasping for air. Azithromycin from the doctor cleared it up and original herb Ricola from the drug store helped with symptom management while the abx did their job.

I thought maybe my cough had taken a turn and I was getting better, when my alarm went off this morning. No such luck. I missed any appointments today, so I'll try again, tomorrow morning. I've been awake all night, coughing, so I'm tired. Going to try and get some sleep today. You've got whooping cough. Cold symptoms followed a week or two later with a cough that makes you vomit is a classic presentation. I had whooping cough 10 years and I'm over due for my Tdap booster and I currently have a really bad cold and cough, and my husband is like, "do you have whooping cough again?" Haha, I do not, I woke up on Sunday feeling like absolute hell. Three days of COVID testing says it's not that.

No, it was 8pm, dark and cold. I just went through the car wash and the blow dryer and went on my merry way. It will be fine. It's exceptionally cold at the moment but supposed to get up to 40 for a while tomorrow afternoon. My garage usually is 10-20 degrees warmer than outside, so it will thaw out eventually. Leaving it unlocked at work doesn't bother me.

Finally up and eating after my colonoscopy.
Good news - had only 10 polyps removed instead of 15 like last time. Waiting for biopsy results, but doctor. So have to go back in 2 years if there is no bad news.
Not sure if they gave me a different anesthesia - but I was loopy after they released me and about to fall when I walked out.

So we had family thanksgiving on Sunday. Lots of people, good food but slight chaos. Monday drove Jerseyguy to Sloan Kettering , a long stressful drive and lots of wait time for CT scan, labs, consultation with doctors Very tired when I got home. Took a nap at 3:00 . Jerseyguy woke me up at 5:00 in the morning . He said he was very relieved as he thought I was dead ( Polish pessimism!) Anyway feeling good today.

I dropped off a box and bag of stuff from our room to Goodwill. I want to do DD's drawers again before we leave.
I have various things to do tomorrow, some grocery shopping and such, need to make a list.
I opened a can of tuna to nibble on and I gave some to Smoke, he gobbled it up, than he went to his room on his own.
Washed my hair, used a different shampoo so it's a little better, but something is different about it.
Watching an english murder mystery called Written in Blood-Midsomer Murders, it has 4.5 stars.
Tonight it's 21 out so far, hubs said he had heard was supposed to get really cold tonight, it was 18 this morning.
Humm, maybe I will get son a weather station. Had a cheap one for him in NY, may get a nicer one for him, that would work.
Also having two brownies, these are pretty good, some are way to sweet for me.

It makes a huge difference so yes you and car will be fine.

Just ordered son a weather station and its for fishing. I think he will enjoy that, gives data and also says when days are good for fishing, shows a fisherman on the screen. So another one done. Also resets the time from the atomic clock, so that is handy, we have several of those types of clocks.
Now DD and DIL are the two left to buy for. The guys I only got 1 gift for each. I think this year gifts will cost $1000 total or less and hopefully some they will like.

But I'll be house sitting for DD2s family for 10 days, starting Friday. I don't want to cover their house in germs, then have my two littles come home and get this. Esp not right at Christmas. It truly is miserable. And they tend to not give toddlers medication for coughing. I finally looked online for whooping cough and I agree. It sounds just like what I have. Sigh... cough, cough, cough some more!

Good morning, stoic and resilient invisipeeps, moving ahead in the cold. Welcome to Wednesday. I hope your day brings good news and a great dessert. You've survived 10 days of Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Giving Tuesday. I think all that's left is Small Business Saturday. Soon we'll celebrate holidays that are not Thanksgiving and are not homage to shopping. I'm trying to decide if I should take vitamin D supplements. My new PCP prescribed them for me. I've read somewhere that mostly people don't need them; that they are over promoted. I guess there's no real downside. I just hate to add yet another pill to my repertoire. Wonder if it would help my brittle nails that break all the time. I think probably not. Yesterday I wrote my little heart out and read some on Glass Door about a company I'm considering applying to for a W2 job. Lot of unhappiness and frustration on Glass Door. Gives me something to think about. It is hard to stitch together a solid steady income from freelance writing, editing and photography; it takes time to bear fruit. We'll see. It was cold when I walked Franklin the Dog, dawn and sunset. Here is the pre-sunrise with surprising bright blue:

Posting here while gathering my thoughts. In at work today for a command performance. Might hit the job thread for some advice. I could really use in print the old saw about marketing, advertising etc. Looking for fleece etc. My old North Face are from when I was a woman's size 8 and shorter tops were the rage. I actually prefer the latter when I am in better Opti shape, but in any event I would like more than one piece of fleece look like it is for me now. This might be in the class of my only updated piece and fave. columbia.scene7.com/is/image/ColumbiaSportswear2/1802161_018_f_om?wid=768&hei=806&v=1700226314

I don't want to leak my analysis of my workplace simply because I am sick and tired. Heck I am thinking of talking about politics as cover. And cool possible office decorations found at the local pharmacy.

Go see the new doctor and deal with all the annoying intake questions.

Have you considered that it may be bronchitis? When I had whooping cough I initially thought my cold had settled into bronchitis. After a week of no improvement and those god-awful coughing fits I finally went to the doctor. If she's been dealing with this and no improvement then it's time to see a doctor. There's nothing much you can do about bronchitis aside from basic home care you'd do for any cough and cold, but if it were to actually be whooping cough then she needs an antibiotic. They can also do a swab to confirm. That's the only reason I'd say go to the doctor, as someone who does not go running to the doctor for every illness.

It is 16 degrees here, I'm not happy. This should not be in November for this area, I hate thinking about what February will look like. I need to win play the lottery and winter on my own private Caribbean island.

Did your PCP say why she was prescribing the supplement? I personally feel that, other than a multi-vitamin, supplements such as Vitamin D are of value only when used to treat or prevent a particular condition such as weak bones etc. AND when there is a demonstrated lack of the vitamin in a person's system as determined by blood and other screenings. As my doctor said, many vitamin or mineral deficiencies result from a metabolic condition which prevents the system from utilizing the ingredient and, unless the underlying metabolic condition is addressed, adding more of the vitamin or mineral is not likely to be effective.

So we've been talking to a carrier that writes moving companies, because you know, I don't have enough with truckers. They sent a bunch of information on what they offer. They sent a picture of the US with the states they write in. I don't know why, but I counted how many I've been to. I've only been to 11 of them! I'm going to try to get to at least a couple that I haven't been to in the new year.

I think my van is actually toast this time. I knew this day was coming, but what is making me ill is I just stuck 2K in it a few weeks ago. I even just filled the gas tank! I'm thinking of just gifting it to my dad for Christmas and he can pull parts off as he needs them. He fixed up and is driving the 2007 I gave him after I totaled it and they are basically identical. I also am going to miss having that tank to get through my driveway in the winter.
