CG - do you need to reconcile all the paperwork to be able to take tax deductions? If so, will it be worth more than $1,000? Just thinking out loud if all the stress and time involved is worth it.

I am working on books. If I had been on a job and the "workers" did not make sure their stuff was in so I can use it, I would have been on a rampage. I always kept after hubs giving me all the receipts, but I was gone 2 months, than have been procrastinating on bringing stuff up to date. I would ask him do I have the receipts, yeah, , but I don't think he was listening. It seemed like an awful lot of stuff was being ordered from amazon and I had no receipts?? For some reason on this last house he started ordering more and more stuff from them well on the credit card you have no way of knowing what it is unless you can match it up. Now I'm finding out he can't get the printer to work on his Ipad so I'm reconciling accounts and there are tons of receipts I don't have. I have our credit card broken down so I can charge to the property acct, mine, his, or DD's when I make payments on it. Used to be MIL's had an acct too. It works well if you have everything. So now I'm here and going to have to get all the invoices printed out and journal them in. I have paid a lot of this out of our personal account. Now I'm going to have months of items to print out and match up, damn. Not only that he has paid out of our regular acct with a debit card, his acct with a debit card, and cash. I'm trying to match to the credit card and realize its debit so sort those down. This is a small business should not be this much work, now almost none, yet here I am. I'm far from perfect because I haven't been to school for what 50 years and haven't work in over 20 so I too have forgotten things. I'm sitting here hoping we don't get audited. I don't like doing stuff this way. I only have a couple more months to bring up to date, but I think I have missed a lot of charges. I will get it, but not wanting to deal with it isn't helping me either. I am leaving the 7th and hope to get it in better order before I leave, will only have 2 more recons to do and they should be simple. Hope to finish this part before I go, review my depn schedules and just go back over everything. Amazon keeps a list of everything that you’ve ordered. Just sign into your account and look at the the top of the page on the right corner for Returns and Orders.

Just got home after spending the weekend with the grandkids, DD and DSIL. We had so much fun. Went antiquing, shopping and decided to go out for Mexican food last night. They are growing up so fast; the two oldest boys have their driving permit already and one is going to get his license soon. The other boy won’t be far behind. Spent too much money, but we don’t see them as often as we’d like, so tend to overspend when we do see them. It’s ok to spoil your grandchildren, right? No it is not ok to spoil your grandkids. It's your duty to do so! I know it is somewhere in chapter 1 of the manual on how to be a good grandparent Oh, and it is also somewhere in the chapter on "grandma's bill of rights"

Not happy with DH's company right now. He was asked to come in to work this past week, to fill in at a different location, but no one mentioned that the person he was filling in for had tested positive for Covid. If he had known, he normally disinfects the entire area, including the telephone. I told him I want him to take a test when he gets home tonight. It's been 4 days, so hopefully if he's caught it, the test will show a positive. Not something I want to be dealing with so close to the Christmas rush. Is he symptomatic? DD1 was likely exposed on Oct 29. She was symptomatic on Halloween. Tested positive on Nov 3. We tested her before a few times. DH got covid from DD1. He was symptomatic for only 24 hours before he tested positive on Nov 3. I've noticed him dealing with a runny nose the last couple of days, but he hasn't complained about any problems. But then, he's been working so many hours that I haven't had much chance to ask.

Yeah Peace I know I can get into them that way and print them. But on the credit card only states amazon and still need to match and then journal to the proper account if not already charged, so its matching and checking, just will take time. I feel like I still have a job and just don't want to have to do this stuff anymore, so part of it is my problem too.
I just want to be done with rentals, buying stuff, dealing with the people, just want to sell the last one and run. I'm 77 and just don't want to have to deal with this any longer I will be ok once I get this years done.

I mentioned last week that I’d had a horrible meeting with my boss. There’s no way to salvage my employment past June 30, so my goal is to make it until then. At this point, I’m acknowledging this is not a good fit for me and will resign before being non-renewed. Last week, I was still entertaining try to make this work. I can’t stay in this organization and be healthy—physically or mentally. Because of the stress of the way the directors manage the district, part of my weekend self-reflection is to realize I’ve become an almost —like 75%— complete shit to work with for the people who report to me (45). Basically, I’ve been trying to fit in with my directors, and it’s causing me to behave badly to the people who work for me. My work goal is to be positive and proactive along with unoffendable—possess equanimity and ataraxy. Be professional. Kill them with kindness. Treat people how I want to be treated. However, in my moments of weakness, I’d like to vent here. It may happen several times per day. Please help me be accountable to being a mature, functioning professional.

Vent as much as you want/need here Knee Deep in Water Chloe but give yourself some grace as well. You can only do what you can do. It is a very tough spot you are finding yourself in.

Advertisement I am seeing on this page is for "Flo" and the title line reads "Learn how to orgasm". 😯
Now I'm trying to figure out what I may have looked at recently to be seeing that type of ad. 🤣

Good morning, engaged invisipeeps, wrestling with life changes and pondering challenges ahead. Welcome to Monday. I hope your day offers you a smooth path for planning and the ability to see answers where big questions loom. I hope your living situations, your homes, your families and your jobs, all show you some solutions. Especially you, Knee Deep in Water Chloe, soupandstew, giramomma, NomoreDramaQ1015, Pink Cashmere, countrygirl2, and chiver78. Yesterday I think I slept most of the day, although I did get the laundry done and the wreath hung. While the sale continues today I'm putting in an order to my photo printing service. Damn, I've got a lot of pictures! It did rain yesterday starting in the evening. The dawn was clear enough, though, and filled with tiny dinosaurs. Here they are, coming in for a landing on the water:

I'm up and ready to go today! just waiting on the stone delivery and the landscapers with the heavy machinery. I've been awake a couple hours already, I'm so excited for this work to start.

I feel for delivery drivers. I placed an order for delivery from Target on Friday evening. I could have picked it up, but had my fill of town for the week and there wasn't anything I needed right away. Original estimate was it would deliver Wednesday. FedEx delivered it on Sunday. 😯

I'm having work issues right now also. We have a new cabinet secretary and she's making sweeping changes, even though she has no idea what we all actually do. We found out the division I am in is getting moved (on paper and in person) to a division we have nothing to do with. And we found out because someone on my team actually read an attached slide deck on an email with updates about the legislative finance committee presentation. I don't have great options at this point, so I am trying to come to some type of acceptance.

I have the invoices printed out, not as many as I thought. I also need to print out my Lowes statement, all that posts is the payments and I need to match those receipts to the statements, so have some to print out. He worked on the house about 4 months so need to get those. At least he was only working on one property so I know all the items he purchased are for it, so at least there is that.
I know what needs to be done, its just matching and reconciling and in regard to one question yes, it will run more than $1000, and I need them all to have support for my tax deductions. I give my recons with supporting documentation to the CPA. They just do the taxes, I do the prep. It's why I'm getting rid of the LLC as its just not worth the money it costs now to leave anything in it. They charge by schedule. And there are a lot for the little involved. Last year and this year not worth it.
Now only one will be left for next year so will go back to just being listed on a schedule.
It will work out, but I just need to do the footwork to get it done. I'm spending more time griping about it than just doing it so to work I go.

I hate this time of the year. The constant "What do the boys want for Christmas?" texts have begun. I don't even know what I'm going to get them, but I'm supposed to tell 8 other people what to get too?

I'm also having trouble giving up a beautiful, energy efficient home that really needs nothing. I'm worried he will decide we just need to live in the trailer instead of a nice home. I have lived in under construction places a lot and I don't mind that but will he be able to do it again? That is the only way we can get a nice house there, I agree with him on spending a ton of money on one. Having the work done up there I think would be prohibitive and hubs would balk at paying what it costs anyway. And he isn't going to be happy. I asked him what he will do there, he said probably take a lot of long drives. He doesn't want to do anything just drive, so its not pleasurable to me either to just do that. I don't know, just worries me. I thought we would be all set by now and didn't expect son to be about as far away from us as he is and still be in the US.If it weren't for DD none of this would be necessary, I don't blame her in anyway. But I'm not even sure this is the answer for her either, she has open ended benefits here. I wonder how much interest son will take in her. I just don't want this to end up being a big mistake. I have even talked to hubs about buying a smaller, new home in town with a nice garage and splitting time between the two where we don't have much outside work to do. There are no easy answers. I'm ready to scale down and just enjoy life, his enjoyment in life is working on stuff. He said I guess I will start working on the motorhome again to get things fixed so it will sell better. I only need to put new backsplash stuff behind the sink in the kitchen in it and clean. He has other things he wants to fix. Perhaps to him not working on stuff equates being ready to die or something. I just don't know. For us both this is a huge, huge decision. We likely could leave a house here in son's name and let her live in it with state supplied help and another resident for the rest of her life. She likely has enough benefits to do that too. Could you get your husband plugged into Habitat for Humanity or something? He could get his need to fix things filled. There have to be organizations that do home repairs for those with lower income/seniors, too. Your husband is smart and resourceful. Seems like he could find something if he wanted.

His own suggestions are by and large not helpful (e.g. a forklift. Actually two, one gas and one electric. )

When I had the niece(8yo) and nephew(6yo) Friday I asked them what they were going to ask Santa for. I got crickets. I am tired of playing, so I ordered them both a bag of "Unicorn Farts" cotton candy, which they will find hilarious, and will add a card and some cash. They are already super smart and handle money well so I am ok with taking the easy way out. Or now that I am thinking about it I might do Chuck E Cheese gift cards and I will take them out for a day. When anyone asks about my own (22 & about to be 24) I just tell them gift cards to places they like to eat at because neither really cooks anything more than box mac and cheese.

Well, we're back to a "normal" Monday. I've got service people here trying to figure out why my furnace is misbehaving. It's not looking like it'll be cheap, unless it's still under warranty.

DHs dad isn't doing too well after the last fall. Hospice care is being discussed as a possibility. Not sure he has much longer. He gave up after MIL. Which I've said before isn't uncommon. It still sucks though he has a lot to live for. Then his brother is getting divorced. That doesn't really surprise me I had a hunch based on the last time we were together. I was more surprised it took this long. So this could be an interesting holiday season. I'm not going to put the cart too far ahead of the horse regarding FIL but I'm preparing myself. That sucks. I'm sorry.

I'm not surprised by this at all. When you have conservatives telling people that the brown people are trying to eradicate white people, the wackadoos come up with stuff like this. White people be white peopling.
