Happy Birthday, andi9899! We have another gorgeous day, which is quite unusual this time of year. My sister took her daughter to Friday Harbor for the day, and TD said he’s going into work for a few hours. That leaves me all by my lonesome. We have leftover turkey gravy, stock and pie cruse, I thought about making pot pies out of them, but think my niece won’t eat them. We can punt on that until she leaves, and maybe do pizza again tonight. Not sure when she leaves for home. Niece had a minor meltdown yesterday when my sister would not allow her to take her car to one of the multiple cannabis stores in town. As TD is still randomly tested, having it in the house is a hard no. That would be a very expensive mistake, and could be career ending for him. Maybe once he decides to fully retire, but until then he wants to go out on his terms…..not via a stupid mistake. Her father played stupid games, won stupid prizes when he got randomly tested, and she just doesn’t get how hard a no this is.

Hiding in my bed in my trailer. The heater is not working. It’s 55°F inside. First world problems. 🤣 Oh, UMC first world problem! 🤪

We have snow coming today. The weather site is acting like it's some emergency. There are 1-4 inches predicted. We're not going to die, calm down.

Oh dear, hubs says he is not going to son's for Xmas. He is so uncomfortable with his incontinence, I'm looking at better collection systems and will have him look them over. He said changing on a plane he just can't do in those tiny areas. He is worrying about leaking and everything else. I was concerned when they told him before surgery, he thinks it will get better. He said he just won't go till he can drive. He said he has no problem driving where he has control of his situation but not flying. And of course he doesn't want to drive in the winter with a possibility of snow in the passes. I hope we can work something out for him. But like he said not the first time he hasn't been home for Xmas, that's for sure and I wanted it stopped.
Well, DD and I are still going, he said don't worry about it, I know he means it as holidays don't mean all that much to him, but I feel badly about it and grandson will be devastated. I don't think he realizes how much that little boy likes him and misses him.
It's really cold here today in the 30's but beautiful sunshine. I'm looking at my big Tigger cat and I think he has lost a little weight. I am reducing their food to the point they are eating most of it and having only tiny leftovers. They are grazing during the dayand certainly aren't starving. Smoke does not overeat so make sure he has enough and not to much for the other is hard They are such pretty cats, healthy and I'm pretty sure happy.
DD and I went out for breakfast in the little town, so good. They have a furnace in the old building but during business houses they use a wood type heater. Only have to put wood in it once or twice a day and it warms the place wonderfully, has a blower on it and some kind of recapture deal on the stove pipe. If we had something like that in place I would use it. You go in there and its like stepping back in time. She has had trouble getting help of late. I think the 2 older ladies may have gotten to the age they retired. Anyway one of the younger women working in there had a pair of crocs on over 2 sizes or more too big for her. You can tell those girls are pretty poor, I left her a $20 tip for Thanksgiving, I'm sure she can use it
I will say that around here people are charitable. No matter what cause folks raise money for the donations always exceed the request. We have a couple in town that was due to bring a brand new baby home and their old furnace died so no heat in the house. The local contractor agreed to put in a new system, apparently quickly, for $5k, probably his cost and they are asking for donations to pay for it. The restaurant owner said they are doing pretty well with donations, I will give a couple hundred. Knowing the 2 collecting for it I feel they are worthy recipients. Hubs said well how will they pay the heat bill? I said likely they can but not the cost of a new one, lets hope its more efficient anyway. That is always something that happens here, people pull together to help.
After the tornado went through, the amish came over and built several people garages for free to store their salvaged belongings in quickly to help out. That section of town was totally cleaned up in a matter of a few weeks from donated equipment to help. Farmers here have all kinds of equipment, in fact almost too much help arrived. But than over 200 houses were destroyed. So there are good aspects about this area I tend to overlook. There is a new building for Our Fathers Arms which is the designated distribution center for Catholic Charities food and all kinds of donations for people. I give a lot to them as they give it out for free to people in need. I'm sure some freeloaders come in but still most go that need it. No matter what people and kids should have basics like clothing and food.
They are building a new VFW for the one destroyed too. The sad part is a Vietnam era helicopter had been taken down about a year ago and refurbished and put back up on a raised sign and the tornado destroyed it. What a waste. But all that is coming together again.
Need to work on books, have everything ready to go. DD and I dressed up and went to another town to go to the craft fair and its next Saturday, bummer, but that's ok we will. I raised the tail gate for hubs on the trailer and he got the lady next door to his house to help him raise it back up. She is about our age. I said how did you get it down, he said I just undid it and dropped it. So he is being good. He is hoping this week they will let him lift more, we will find out Wed. I just don't want him to overlook it.

I'm thinking of just a chef salad for dinner tonight, think we would all enjoy that.
I weighed this morning, and happy day, at 149 again. Between that weight and 155 seems to be about my set points. I can't believe at one time I thought I was fat at 120 and 5'9". I would eat lightly for days if my weight moved up even a little and now I think this weight is glorious, LOL!
My arm is still kind of sore and itching, had a slight headache this morning, but I'm 95% better so likely will be ok tomorrow. Well, the arm could still be a big itchy.

Moonshadow alert! I've left him out wrapped in the cut off fleece pocket twice now, because he did not want to leave and go in his cage. And, weak owner that I am, I know the odds were the sleep helper would not kick in and he'd be dumped in his cage soon anyway. Last time, no harm no foul. Just poop to clean up around him. Expected. But apparently last night into early this morning he decided the free target recyclable grocery bag was edible. Which, to be fair it was as he ate some big holes in it. Thankfully, it was the one I was supposed to toss anyway because it had developed a hole because I used it too often or I've put too much heavy crap in it. <Insert guinea pig emoticon here>

there is a reason guinea dad sells this - Not in my price range but maybe I'll make a custom order somewhere and buy him the mat he can chew to up in about a week. Need to find Crestie a new main plant. Just realized today he's destroyed it down to half its height. (Not designed to support leaping adult geckos, so no surprise the plastic branches supported by plastic steams around metal wire have broken off.Again.

Did I mention I was eating too much? DS just decided to make this Korean dish which was really good, but ridiculously spicy. Like I'm literally sweating here and I'm sure this is great for my heartburn. I'm going to go out and clean the chicken coop and maybe put up the snow fence.

Well THAT's weird. We just got back from a short grocery run, and there are snow flurries coming down. We weren't supposed to see any snow until tomorrow. Boo!

Same! I was thinking about making turkey and noodles anyway just because it's snowing and cold out. I still might. The day is young and I'm not going anywhere. It's really minimal cooking since everything but the egs noodles is already cooked and just needs to be warmed up. I may need to make more mashed potatoes since I don't think we have a lot left. I'm making T2 ham and beans with cornbread tomorrow.

I love Korean food, but I need low spicy because of my physicality now. So, Beef Bulgogi yes. Kimchi no unless wussy and cut with other food i.e. rice etc.. Finally walked into a big Chinese restaurant that is buffet and dim sum oriented. Got a paper menu and saw some cute dim sum with ummmm pig features. Cute. Would eat. Or at least taste ... need to know how spicy is is or what else is in there.

I ordered a doggie DNA test for the twins. Now I can't wait for it to get here! Met a dog (& owner) on the way home from work today. I decided to ask, he looks like a Silky Terrier... is he? And the male owner said no. They had to get a DNA test to confirm the little guy was 100% percent Yorkie. (terrier) Please share the results. I remember how leggy and beautiful your twins were when they were young. Will you post a recent pic or two?

I'll send a pic each to chiver since I'm old and don't know how to post pics. I'm so interested to know. Everyone asks me when they see them and I have to admit I don't know. They are pretty unique looking IMO. I also find it interesting that Macy is giving greyhound while Jackson is giving coon hound, yet they are from the same litter.

Got all the Halloween and most of the autumn stuff to storage. My life-size skeleton is now named "Ivan" after a local politician who lost his race in a most spectacular fashion. If the rain holds off, I'll take the last two bins tomorrow and start bringing back Christmas stuff. I changed out the candles, scent ports and hand soaps to holiday fragrances so it smells pretty Christmasy already.
I printed out sample ballots for the December 9 runoff - I swear the political cycle never ends in Texas. Next year is all the judges, literally many dozens of them from local J.P. to State supreme court, plus legislature and, of course, the presidential race.
I think we're going to try something different for Christmas Day food. We've done the deboned stuffed chicken, usually with crawfish and rice dressing, for years. This year we may try one of their stuffed pork roasts, or maybe a pan of lasagna from a local Italian restaurant.

Both dogs and cats can have multiple sires for a litter so many times siblings can actually be 1/2 siblings, sharing a mom with different dads.

DH just told me that the high-end jeweler he took his Tag to for repairs asked for his drivers license in order to write up the repair ticket. I'm guessing they get a lot of scammers - sign of the times.

I think these are adorable and getting for DD to wear with her Xmas outfits. It says a size bigger for a wide foot. I have never ordered from them before so trying these and a top for me. Here's hoping as they have gobs of cute clothing.
The name is Zo lucky, looks chinese after I ordered. We will see what they look like. May be junk if so won't order again.
I did find a people food the cats like, its Boarshead Sweet Slice Ham, at least they have good taste. It works out to about the same price as catfood per pound, well actually the catfood is more.

Inevitably the pot came out and I had to tell them not in my apartment. I don't know if it still is, but that was a firing offense at the IRS and I could not chance it. They kept saying no one would know. They didn't know they weren't going to get in to an accident and they didn't know if the fumes would stay with me. I'm sure there was drug testing then but I think it had to be for cause. Smelling it would be for cause. Best part was they didn't want any more parties at our apartment and I could leave when the pot came out.

I am at work. Planning to leave in two hours, and have not done what I came to do. I did stuff, just not what I was planning to do. Might come in tomorrow for a bit too. I Had to briefly catch up with you all though.
Happy Birthday Andi9899! How much did the Doggie DNA test cost you? Just curious. I also am curious about my Teddy Bear's DNA. Vets always look at him and say Bichon, but we are pretty sure there is Shih Tzu mixed in there, but not sure how much I am willing to pay to find out.

Home again from a meal w DSis in honor of her birthday. Excellent food--a favorite restaurant. I got DH a meal to go from there and he's very happily devouring it.
I need to go down and switch laundry loads, then do a little bookkeeping. Don't want to but I will.

Maybe we have found something to make hubs feel more comfortable and confident, now if it gets here on time. Never having looked at this stuff before, its amazing all the products out there now for incontinence for both men and women. So that's a good thing. We are hopeful it will improve some over time. It was expected, sad that only so much can be done for people.

The mystery of Elmer was solved. Found the feather pile today. Either it was a daytime coyote or the neighbors had friends over with a dog. He was right by the property line.
