Man, did I do a dumb thing getting that shot yesterday. What was I thinking. I was sick all night. I was  hot and cold, I still hurt everywhere. My head has been splitting, every joint, feet, back, everything. Turning over in bed like to killed me. 

Hubs fixed DD something to eat this morning. I got up in the night and almost fell over. Now I am having gut cramps beyond belief, it actually feels like I have a bad case of the flu. I took 2 backaids and it's helping my headache and back a bit. Shortly I'm going back to bed. Hubs said don't worry about it we will have our food for dinner tonight. I doubt I can eat anything, but he will help cook it if I can't.

I just didn't think about it making me this sick, dang. I think as the day goes on I will feel better, at least I hope so.

I've been shopping flooring to replace our carpet.  Every hardwood I saw said that same thing.  About half of the laminates did as well.  I'm thinking to go with LVP because I didn't see those types of disclaimers for those.

It'll be a while before we replace the floors though.  Just the thought of moving everything around and the disruption makes my head spin.

Been busy all morning, so it is break time for a bit. Swam, then laundry and breakfast. Turkey just out of the oven, which I will slice and store until we are hungry. Only things left are the stuffing, baking the big sweet potato and steaming the green beans.

I don’t begrudge him doing what he felt he needed to do for his parents, or helping his daughters with college expenses. I just feel like when he started getting stressed about all of the money flying out of his pockets and bank accounts, he should’ve been honest with himself and everybody else and said “this is too much” instead of getting mad at me because he had to spend more money to take care of HIS household, when there was a real and genuine reason that I was not contributing as much as I had been. 

He spent all of that money bailing his Dad out, and more, paying for shit for his Dad on a regular basis, and paid thousands of dollars to bury his Mom and pay for shit for her funeral, because his DAD was irresponsible. That had nothing to do with me. He still gives his daughters’ Mom a nice sum of money in child support every month because he is too lazy to stop it after he understood that it is not simple to stop it, with the excuse that it helps his daughters. But he still paid tuition and still provided what his daughters said they needed and wanted. And with all the money their Mom still receives from him in CS, for 2 ADULT children, OD is riding around with no insurance and tags that expired idk how long ago. The excuse for the lack of insurance is that OD has gotten enough speeding tickets that her insurance would be about $500/month.

In my mind, if she wants to keep driving her vehicle, she should be required to get a fucking job to at least pay the insurance, since it’s her own fault that it’s so expensive. And since she doesn’t have insurance, if she is involved in an accident and gets sued, guess who they are going to call for more money. MISTER! I have said all of that to Mister and even tried the angle of what they are teaching OD about being a responsible adult, but nothing has changed.

I could go on and on about a lot of stuff. 

But I’M the gold digger that is using him! When, before all of this happened, I operated like my money was his money too. And thought the same was true in reverse, even though I used my savings when my shit hit the fan, to avoid having to ask him for money. But it’s okay that all these other people are entitled to his money, and I became the problem when doing all that shit made his money tight, instead of the problem being what he was doing for the other ADULTS that were benefitting from so much of his money being spent and given. 

I do have an issue with the CS he is still paying, but everything else, I never gave one fuck about him doing what he felt he should do for his parents or his children. I am upset and angry because I honestly believe that his problem with me is because it would’ve been easier for him to go all out on all of that shit, if he hadn’t had to spend more money taking care of our household because my income was lacking. 

Basically, what I was going through, made it uncomfortable to him, to spend/give a lot of money on/to people that were irresponsible and actually using him. But it is easier for him to believe that I am the user, and a gold digger, than be honest with himself. 

I repeat, he does not believe you are a gold digger. There is no way paying a utility bill in the house he lives in translates to you getting all kinds of money from him. He does not believe that. He just thinks it sounds better than saying he wanted more of your money towards CS for the baby momma. Do not let him suck you into these long winded discussions. He knows where his money's been going and that he has been taking advantage of you financially. He's deflecting

I don’t think he has been taking advantage of me financially. When we moved here, he was fine with me not paying any of the household bills. I insisted, because I feel like adults should pay where they stay, and I should pay something, even if it was minimal. So I chose the light bill so I could control the thermostat and have as many lights on as I wanted without having to listen to him complain. I chose the cable and Internet, because I wanted the same package I had at my house, and he was fine with a bare bones package. 

I absolutely believe that when he started spending so much money on his parents’ stuff, it was easier to get mad at me, than at his parents for being so irresponsible with their money. And once he got it in his head that I was the problem, he just ran with it.

Anyway, I am done defending myself to him. You are right that he knows I’m not a gold digger, and it’s all really about some other stuff that has nothing to do with me, and everything to do with him.

Bought him a couple of toys when we first got him while we were getting food and litter.  He liked the jingle balls to chase them up and down the hallway so we've gotten some more of those.  He doesn't seem interested in crinkle balls.

We had gotten him a stuffed mouse with a little feather for the tail and we thought he didn't like it.  We were wrong.  Brooks loves it.  Just not as a toy.  It is his baby.  Like his teddy bear or a lovey.  He puts it under the edge of his blanket.  Sometimes he pulls it out and cuddles it.  He has fallen asleep cuddling this toy and looks just like a kid sleeping with a teddy bear.  If you try to play with it or make him chase it or whatever he just sits there and stares at you.  When you finally put it down he picks it up and puts it back under his blanket.  It is his baby.  NOT a toy!

Got all his vaccinations at the vet and a year's supply of flea/heartworm meds.  No issues there.  He had no issues with cat food.  We are feeding him half dry/half wet.  Thinking we will probably keep it that way.  He gets fed twice a day.  He used to whine in the afternoon and we'd have to give him a treat or a small snack, but he's about over that.  He's adjusted well and figured out he will always have food at mealtimes.

He doesn't seem interested in scratching the furniture.  When we first went to get food and litter we grabbed a small sisal rope scratcher and a carboard scratcher.  He likes them both equally it seems.  At some point we'll get some larger ones or different shaped ones, but he's using these two regularly right now.

Kiddo has to tell him goodbye every morning before she leaves for school.  And when she gets home the first thing she does is find him and tell him hello.  On her Thanksgiving lists they do at school she put the usual things that she's grateful for (mom, dad, toys, friends) and then in all capital letters she put CAT!

Kiddo had no idea what kneading was or why cats do it.  Had to explain it to her.  Now, whenever Brooks is cuddling with her and he starts kneading, she says in her most sickening sweet 7yo voice, awww Brooks-eeeeeeeeee you are making dough on me!

I love all of this. It sounds like Brooks is awesome and a wonderful addition to your family. I’m glad he found y’all and that y’all gave him a loving home and made him a part of your family.

I started my day by running a Turkey trot. I met a friend there and she cheered me on at the start, then I cheered her across the finish line. It was fun! Well, except for when it started raining, haha. But I’m home and dry now, getting ready for appetizers and football (go Lions!) then we’re going out for dinner later. No cooking for us this year. Thank goodness

Do you have a laser pointer?  We used to use this with Sheldon to get him running when he was being kitteny obnoxiously annoying.  We’d run him up and down the stairs, the hallway and he’d zonk out and stop being annoying.   Best $7 spent!  In fact, we still have to hide the pointer, because if he sees it, he knocks it off the table to get you to use it for him!

I have one, but I have ceramic tile in the kitchen where I use it.  It's actually my second one because the first one bit the dust after about 12 years or so.  Both of mine put out a good amount of steam.  I think I'd be worried about that much moisture on the hardwood, but maybe someone with first hand experience has a better opinion?

We use it on mostly ceramic floors, but have used it on the hardwood a few times…..definitely not regularly.  Maybe once/year or less.  The rest of the time, the floors just Roomba’ed.

Just got up, my sister got home about 1:30 in the morning after picking up my niece.  SEA was an absolute mess, which I warned her about.  She said it took her an hour to get from the I5 exit to the airport terminal.  That’s normally about a 5 min drive, if that!  

Pretty much everything is done for today, just needs heat put on it. The only thing I’ll have to make is gravy.  TD made 2 pumpkin and a cherry pie last night.

I had this and really liked it. It comes with a plastic thing to set it on. If you leave it wet on the floor, it will make a mark on the floor. Ask me how I know. It will go away once it dries, but will look awful for a while.

We went out to breakfast at our beloved taqueria.  DH had the Central American breakfast, complete with plantains, this awesome white cheese, and Salvadoran crema.  I had eggs scrambled with cactus, bacon, and corn tortillas.  When I went up to pay, the cashier said our waitress had paid for us because she was thankful for our presence at the restaurant and in her life.  I came very close to blubbering like a baby.

I took my 2 hour nap with Smoke, my cuddle bug and Tigger. With the help of the Backaid I feel much better.  I'm still not top notch but much better. If the shot keeps me from getting that sick for days its worth it. But I still feel like a dummy taking it on a holiday.

My rolls are rising and once I bake those will make the pineapple upside down cake. Hubs said rolls and cake sounds good to him for dinner, LOL! I have fresh green beans I broke and cooked last night too that just need heated. Later crank up the grill for the steaks and the microwave for the potato if we decide to have them. Hubs said why not have them tomorrow, doesn't matter to me. I'm just happy to feel alive again. It's 54 out and the sun is shining brightly, so the solar panels are churning away today.

Dad fed Charlotte a stupid amount of turkey. She's cool with him now even let him pet her.

The turkey was really good considering it came cooked already. Very juicy unlike grandma's super dry bird.

Watching the Netflix Squid Game Challenge. They offered $100,000 in the beginning of the show for contestants to take home without participating in the games. No one took the offer. I would have taken the guaranteed money.

So far I’ve watched them play the Rose of Sharon game, the Dalgona game where they had 10 minutes to cut out a shape from the hard caramel candy disk without breaking the shape, and a human battleship game. The personalities are all over the place.

My sister made cinnamon rolls for breakfast this morning.  She sheeted the dough with layers of cream cheese and butter….and OMG she outdid herself.  Right now, we are watching Die Hard while recovering from a sugar coma.  

I think we have a couple more hours before we need to start putting the heat under things.  Cooking shouldn’t take too long, probably the pan of dressing is going to take the longest.

We had a 23 and a 20 pound turkey and they are mostly cleaned up.  Our family takes it all off the bone and serves it in a roaster with all the juices from the pan rather than carving the bird at the table.  I have a full pan of potatoes left because there were three other options for potatoes and my aunt sent me home with a lot of leftovers, including two almost full pies.  There were 12 pies and they probably only ate 7 of them.   I'm going to be serving potatoes and pie for every meal this weekend.

Neither kid is going to be home tonight, so I'm going to just get chores done and veg out watching Netflix.

While I was my basketball games, I started hearing kids with balls outside.  We don't have any kids that live nearby.   Then a ball goes on to the roof and to the front yard.  Before I can get up to see just what is going on, a football is thrown and hits my living room window

In my rush to stop this nonsense, I set the burglary alarm off.  I thought I turned it off, but I didn't.  So the alarm company calls.  I knew the kill code so it stopped.  Called my sister, too, and they could see that I was talking to the alarm company.  So the sheriff didn't come.

I get to the deck and it's a boy and girl playing catch with the football.  About 12 and 14 or so.  They are throwing in the direction of the house, not horizontal which would mean it's unlikely to hit my house.  They look at me like I'm crazy and 3 adults come out.  Neighbor asked what happened.  Told him a ball went over the house and they hit the living room window.  He tells kids that's enough and football was over.  

We used to have a problem when the kids behind us were younger and they would sled in to our basement windows and we would both be on our decks telling them they had to stop.

The green bean casserole is excellent.  Lots of spices that I don't normally eat.  So lots of water.      There is so much of it that I put the veggie turkey in the freezer.  Will bake the pumpkin pie in the morning.

All of my genealogy sites are already on their Black Friday sales.  I know everything is 50% off so I will be buying.

Next two days, we have basketball games.  We are 5-0 now and still getting lots of attention.  The new found star is a junior who got to play some last year but she wasn't  very effective.  She must have worked her rear off during the off season.  She is a totally different and impressive player.  So far, nobody has figured out how to stop her.

So I will get my chai in the morning and decide when to buy what is on my list.  Kind of thinking when the CD is put in my account that I can access for money.  I don't trust the bank to transfer this the way it's supposed to.  I called them after the first email and told them what I want.  Then a rep called me to see what I wanted done.  Asked if the file was already noted because I had called in.

I haven't read anything on this thread for the last 4 days, or so. So I'm not responding to anything.

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Day. And give an update:
DD2, her husband, kids and his mom came by to visit for Thanksgiving. And my son in law brought the flat screen TV over and hooked it up for me! Everything went well. No problems, or anything. Made me happy! 😁 They helped me with a few things I needed done, which was nice and very helpful.
They just left, a bit ago.

I will be much more relaxed about them coming over again, after this. Unless it's 20+ years between visits again. Haha. Hopefully, they will feel more comfortable, about coming over now too.

DD1 called, offered to possibly bring me a plate of food, later. That was nice, too.
