Chatting with Hulu to cancel. I canceled online, but it shows a cancelation date in March of next year. I signed up last November, trying to find the disconnect.

Did he really say that again?! Please let me punch him in the face! I'll fly myself down there and back. Did you remind him that you made more money than him when you got together? How were you to know that his income would go up so much? You could have found a guy with a bunch of money up front if you were trying to be a gold digger. He didn't have any gold to dig then, yet you chose him. That pisses me off for you. I'll join you. Seriously WTF? There is zero excuse for that kind of behavior. I'd be so tempted to hit below the belt. The common denominator here is Mister. His crappy previous choices in women and his enabling of his daughters and parents should not be projected onto you Pink. You are your own woman and if he can't see that he doesn't deserve you. And I might add that you didn't jump at the chance when he was discussing marriage. It was you who was hesitant, not you chasing him. I'm not a violent person, but right now I would struggle to be polite if I met him IRL.

I am not focusing well today. I sat in the car singing with Blue October for a bit before I came in to close the immediate stress cycle of this morning. Into the Ocean is a great song BTW.
But I am now feeling the PTSD from my grandmother and this time of year. I warned DH that they need to tell FIL if he keeps falling and ends up in a hospital, he won't get a vote on going home. DH said he is afraid his dad will kill himself if they even so much as imply that he will end up in a nursing home.
I said then you are almost ensuring it will happen because his dad won't be motivated to take the steps to prevent it. One of which being they need to get MIL's walker out and make him use it. It's one of the really nice ergonomic ones that is properly designed for balance issues. Then railings need to be installed everywhere including on his bed.
I said your dad has the money and means to be able to hire home help and stay at home. But that will be taken away from him if the state decides he's too much of a at home risk. Him and his siblings need to have a CTJ talk with him sooner rather than later.
And I know you can have as many CTJ talks as humanly possible and it still won't prevent the outcome. But at least they can say they tried.
I had it out with FIL once and told him if you fall I can't pick you up. I can't pick you up I have to call 911. They come pick you up you are going to be in trouble. He stayed put in the chair till BIL came to help him up.

chiver78 Any diners/restaurants near you that serve that pie? They should have slices to go. Or Door Dash and don't even go anywhere. When I lived in San Antonio, Marie Callendar had a restaurant there where you could buy just about any of their pies by the slice. I went……a lot! I think their refrigerator case version is a pale example from their restaurant.

I'm going to brag on my team again. On Tuesday, Bracketology comes out, which is a prediction of what teams will make the NCAA tournament and where they will be placed.
There are 4 number 1 seeds and 1 of them is the University of Colorado!!!
They have 3 games in 3 days starting on Thanksgiving. I'm glad they beat the then #1 team in the country as with these 3 games, they get progressively more difficult on paper.

Mister and I just had a conversation. I told him that I’d be a damn fool to be over 25 years in with my employer, and able to retire in 5-7 years, to give the retirement money and benefits up by giving up my job, and let all of that go, trying to mooch off of him. That just doesn’t even make logical sense. I am so deeply offended, not only because of the implications that I am a gold digger, but because he must also think I am stupid and a dummy and not intelligent at all, if he thinks I’ve dealt with all the shit I have with my employer, for all these years, to now just give up the end goal….. a decent retirement with benefits that many jobs these days don’t offer….. when I am so close to the light at the end of the tunnel. Just to suddenly be trifling and try to mooch off of and depend on him. Like I am BooBoo the Fool. If I were willing to be objective and honest , I would say that overall, the conversation was productive, but I am ornery enough these days, angry enough all over again, and still so deep in my feelings, that I really want to say that it’s still all a bunch of BULLSHIT. How did I even get here?! If you were a freaking gold digger, why would you be dragging your feet about mattying him? Seriously? All he has to do is look at his daughters and ex wife/gf to look at gold diggers. I can’t believe anyone would say something like that about you. Mister’s got some major problems, probably exacerbated by the recent deaths of his parents, but they were always there. The question is how much is he willing to admit his issues, and once he admits them, do something about it. In the meantime, it’s looking like you might be collateral damage, Pink Cashmere.

IDK what all SIL is doing. I know he has life alert now. I think she is looking into getting him home care. DH shuts down every time I talk about it. Like it or not he isn't my dad so I have no control over what the siblings do. As much as it pains me I've stated my position on the topic and now all I can do is hope we don't have a fourth elderly fiasco happen.

I've got turkey stock simmering and my house smells like thanksgiving. I started mine yesterday afternoon. I got a batch of turkey wings, roasted them off and tossed them into the pot. I picked meat off of them last night to put in the gravy and dressing.

DH and I had a surprising civil conversation this morning in which he shared the results of his blood work and urinalysis. This has been a hot-button conversation in past years, so I was pleasantly surprised. All results were within normal bounds except for a couple which were out-of-bounds last year too, but his doc signed off on the results last year as "okay, no problem". Under the new ownership, the results are broken down into many more sub-categories so I'll have to study up when I get my results next year. They have also started screening everyone for Hep A and B as part of a national study. I don't care what they screen for as long as I don't have to have more than one stick

I've been looking for half or quarter pies the past week or so, for egg custard. I don't crave sweet very often, but that just tastes like the holidays for me. I haven't seen custard pies at all, nevermind partial ones. I might have to duck in to the pricey grocery store down near M's house. they have always had custard in all the locations I've ever shopped in. For all you single bakers out here craving just a small amount of pie, you may want to look at getting "the ultimate BAKING FOR ONE cookbook by Kelly Jaggers. It has recipes for pumpkin and custard pies and much more. The pies are 6" so a nice size for those of us without a whole lot of self control - NastyWoman resolves to stay away from mirrors for a bit. There is a reason I am fat.

Sadly, no it won't be a whole pie, or even a 1/2 pie. DH and I have shown that impulse control is not one of our strengths so we will bring home 1 large slice to share. This grocery store has figured out there's a large market for single-serve desserts and offers an immense variety of items from their bakery that way. I wish other places did this! The town near us doesn't even have bakeries that do this. The Walmart near me, sells cheese cake etc, with 3 slices. That's what I usually buy. I hope you find something that you like.

Chiver, my local Shoprite had a frozen pumpkin pie for sale. Three servings. Also came in apple. Made by Katz so the pumpkin one was dairy and gluten free. Almost bought it, but chose Ben and Jerry's two for sale. Might try it for Xmas dinner if its still around.
Bus trip happened in reasonable time, but this driver informed me there is a zone boundry at the train tracks so my trip should have been $1.10 one way not .75 per NJ Transit rules.

I hope you find something that you like. Great minds! I like pumpkin pie but I am sensitive to its ingredients sometimes. Pie filling needs to be made without dairy. I can live with a little butter made crust, but if I am sick like now its on the avoid list. Being older means more things seem to cause inflammation and mess with your health. I like the Daiya non dairy cheesecake too, but it is pricey and per some taste test only the lime will make regular folk happy.

I'm fat because I love food and I haven't exercised enough since the start of the pandemic. My body unfortunately has an auto balance feature, so even though I walk a mile at least 6 days a week, I don't think I've lost any weight. At best maybe muscle has reclaimed some space over fat. If anyone posts a link to this, I will bookmark it. TY!

Chatting with Hulu to cancel. I canceled online, but it shows a cancelation date in March of next year. I signed up last November, trying to find the disconnect. Are you paid up ahead of time? I sign up for promo trials all the time, then cancel the same day (so I don't forget), but it keeps going until it would have run out.

Just learned that you can doordash walgreens. Thought it was just for food. Reconciling bank accounts and DD15s had a doordash walgreens charge showing from San Fran that I thought was fraud. Texted her to check and she doordashed midol, her fav type of pads, snickers and a coke to one of her besties who was struggling with cramps. She's a good friend...but also, I'm not footing that bill. Can come from her spending money. I frequently order online from Walgreen's because some of the online prices are cheaper than in their stores, and they also frequently have a % off the entire order. The options are store pick up, shipping, or same day delivery. The same day delivery is done by Doordash, but the charge still appears as Walgreens.

I took tomorrow off and am so ready to get out of here. The office is pretty dead and I'm sure tomorrow will be worse. We're going to pick up my oldest and go to the zoo and hang out with my dad and stepmom up there tomorrow before coming home. Thanksgiving is just next door, so I won't have to travel far on Thursday, but I'll have to drive DS back on Sunday...maybe I'll put him on a bus.

I finally got the final bill paid at the house we sold for the electric bill. They had not mailed it to me. Then we had the mobile home transferred into my name and couldn't set it up for auto pay, durn. I will just have to watch it.
I washed and rolled my hair on smaller rollers around my face, should be interesting, I'm drying it under my bonnet hair dryer now.
DD went on her sojourn and is now home. She bought a few items and had lunch. I fixed ramen noodle soup, was so good for a change. She brought hubs some popcorn in a can. I ate some of the caramel corn. I need for the holidays to move fast or I will gain lots of weight, NO, NO, NO!
Our store bakery sells half pies. I think in the deli they sell single slices. They have lots of old folks come in and buy their already cooked lunches and dinners from them. Their food is pretty good. I believe they get fresh non frozen chicken so is so good and the same with fish. On Fridays they have wonderful fried catfish. Many days there is a line waiting for another batch to be cooked. We also loved their fried mushrooms, yummy.
I have receipts and things out to work on, have to shoo kitty out of of the box to get things. I will get to it shortly.
I told hubs I found a foreclosed modular in Washington but needs lots of work on an acre and a half. He said some of them are really hard to rehab, not a lot to work with in the walls. I found a one story house but it had really been messed up. Whoever bought it had really torn the inside up. They just bought it 4 years ago and had pictures from than was beautiful. Hubs said maybe knew they were going to lose it or a divorce, what a shame. It was priced to high at $350k, more like $250k with all the damage. It said was not livable and had to have a rehab loan or cash only. If hubs is ok, our kind of deal. New cabinet fronts and facings would fix those. Said a 6 year old roof and furnace, so not bad. And city sewer and water so a plus on .30 of an acre. But we have to wait to see how he is. I think there will be more foreclosures.
Need to put up my dryer and rollers and see what I have. Hubs bought me a new headset and is trying to hook it up. I will be able to hear shows again and won't have to have the telly blasting.

I don’t comprehend people who want to buy single slice of pie. Me - pie for dessert, pie for breakfast (best!!), pie for dinner, pie for snack! However, I eat mostly the filling and only less than half the crust Cause our family is having TG Sunday, I’m making a chicken pot pie for actual TG day, and pumpkin pie (no sugar added) for dessert Odd, I will eat crust of chicken pot pie but not so much dessert pies And I lost 20 pounds after surgery so have some leeway although I want to keep off
