I've been personally productive while I listen to work calls that don't require my input. I built the 2024 tab of my cash flow spreadsheet, updating CC interest rates (woof ) and adding automatic payments where they land along the year. December being a 3-paycheck month, and with my attitude IRT work being in the tank, I just OK'd the lead passenger on the cruise cabin I'm about to jump in on to book me onto her reservation. I'll be able to use this 3rd paycheck to cover this trip and a little of the landscape project. I found a taker to buy my Southwest credit at face value, $250, and I'm cashing in miles for the flights. hotel in Miami is probably going to be something Hilton-flavored as I'm listed as an approved "Friends and Family" for a friend of mine that is a construction PM for the brand. this is not going to be as bad as it should be, having to pay everything at the same time instead of paying in installments like I am used to doing.

About to leave for grocery pick and will pick up a chai on the way home. Just waiting for the text that my order is ready. Yesterday I ordered some meals that are ready to reheat from a place that uses only organic food. They usually have many vegetarian choices. It is not a subscription so not something I am tied in to every week. I will be having turkey made out of veggies and nuts. Can't wait to see how it tastes. I once had tofu turkey that was near inedible. I also ordered green bean casserole. No cream of mushroom soup or green beans from a can. I like green bean casserole so I'm looking forward to that I'm checking out a place here that offers meals to reheat. The whole nine yards of vegan, vegetarian, organic and the "P" word. No subscription either so I think I'll drop by when I am out and about today. They have a grab and go so don't have to order ahead unless you want something particular and ready for pickup. Keeping fingers crossed that I'll like it since I am getting tired of cooking LOL Like I ever liked to cook. Good luck with your order!! My place isn't big enough to have a store front. Wednesday is pick up day. They also leave orders at two of the largest employers in town for pick up. It's one woman who has the vision to want the world to eat better. I'm sure she has employees. Some items are now showing on her website for next week as out of stock. It's definitely not all vegetarian or vegan although the website says there will be some vegetarian and vegan dishes every week. There is an option for turkey this week.

I am intrigued by the cranberry fluff! I enjoy boiling the cranberries to magically make sauce but not a huge fan of eating it. Too lazy to sieve out the skins that ruin the texture…happily I can offload the lumpy stuff on the in laws. My mother used to food process cranberries and oranges I think, which I liked okay. When I do my own cranberry sauce it includes orange zest and orange juice. One year for Thanksgiving, I thought I’d make a cranberry curd tart. It was not one of my successes, but thought it looked really good. I’m going to have to try it again.

I never cared much for any jello dish. My mom made what my sister called orange gunk. I never tasted it. It always disappeared at family dinners, so it must have been okay.

I'm watching the news. They're trying to avert yet yet ANOTHER GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN. Why is it that the US is the only country with government shutdowns? I've never heard of it happening in any other country. It's absolutely crazy. I thought the House went home until after Thanksgiving but what do I know. I kind of enjoyed it when we would get a few days off and get paid anyway. The way it's happened the last few times with some people having to work anyway and not getting paid stinks.

I don't like much Thanksgiving food really. It's a lot of fuss over a really blah meal imo.

Long story short, there are 3 places that need to pass legislation (or a budget) - the House (GOP controlled), the Senate (Democrat controlled) and the President (also Democrat) needs to sign off on it. The GOP is fractured, some are more moderate and the other side extreme. So they can't agree among themselves and they can't agree with the Democrats. So nothing is agreed upon and nothing gets done.

We just had our team meeting, and the one guy had all these ways to make everything really special and I basically shrugged and said I don’t like my inlaws enough to do more than the basics I did frown on the suggestion to undercook the turkey and get rid of them all by food poisoning though, because I am more lazy than evil My pies will be good and I will get my annual fix of my completely disgusting yet beloved green bean casserole salt fest. Good enough for me!

It's been a lovely quiet day here. After DH had his blood draw we went out for breakfast. Then I reconciled the brokerage statements and laid down for an hour to listen to soft music. My coughing spasms obviously disrupt my sleep and last night was tough. I didn't sleep today but it was nice to just relax to music. Tonight's our community dinner and election with assorted fireworks possible from various disgruntled persons. I'll be there from 5:30 to for clean-up. I'll have a neighbor bring me home so DH can bring our car back and go to bed (or watch MSNBC, his choice). The real fun part is that there is likely to be some acknowledgement of my birthday tonight at the event from my friends and fellow directors. And DH hasn't an effing clue it is my birthday. But he can recite all sorts of truly important stuff like the latest documentary on the Kennedy assassination, the critical importance of finding the perfect garden hose and hose reel (involved a long series of texts with neighbors), his plans for the grass in the front yard next spring, and the entire story line of the latest Nicolas Cage movie. I 'spect he's going to look pretty stupid later tonight and I'm going to enjoy that a lot. I'm sort of a bitch that way

Out NextDoor is very helpful to get recommendations. Not toxic at all (or only a few responses when a post gets a lot and I wouldn’t classify as toxic but annoying) Our’s is. TD has more patience wading through that crap than I do. I know we are not the only local community that has a toxic NextDoor. Ours is pretty much an un-moderated cesspool of hate and racism. I don't mind the lost animal stuff - it often helps get furbabies home - and the contractor recommendations are pretty good too. But now they are letting people staying at local motels join so we are getting endless "I moved here from Oklahoma with my 3 babies and the job fell through so we need food and gas money and a week's lodging" etc. Yesterday we got another post from one of our local nasty white supremacists complaining (AGAIN) that he went to Aldi and was subjected to the sight of women in hijabs. It was so bad a couple of years ago with one guy posting ongoing threats against LEO's at all levels (even our local college campus police!) that I took pages of screenshots to the local police substation. Nextdoor leads and admins won't do anything to stop the hate. I even complained about one guy selling guns (strictly against the code of conduct) and they declined to remove it. They also allow sales of drug paraphernalia including processing equipment in a state where marijuana is still illegal.

I have decided that I will just try to keep on keeping on for a specific timeframe that I will not disclose verbally or in writing, and save as much money as I can during that time. At the end of that timeframe, I will assess the situation and decide what I need to do. During that time, I will not try to take the lead on trying to fix things with Mister, I will just observe whether he seems to be making any real efforts to make things right. I don’t want it to be that I somehow pressured him into it, when he knows I’m upset and all the exact reasons why. If keeping the relationship is important to him and he wants to try to fix things, he will show me that and work on it, on his own. I’m not giving him a map, we’ve been together long enough and been through enough, that he knows what is important to me. If he just tries to pretend nothing ever happened, I will not cooperate, because that doesn’t work for me. Trying to lovebomb me is superficial, he has to dig deeper than that.
So that’s where I am. He can be an asshole with someone else. I am not interested in a relationship with somebody that thinks they can be an asshole to me.
On a completely different subject, I did not realize until I read finnime’s post yesterday, that Thanksgiving is next week. I guess it doesn’t really matter since this year, Thanksgiving Day will be just another day for me.

Yikes soupandstew ! That NextDoor seems to be in need of being stopped by legal means. You seem to enjoy your life there but I shudder at the violence in your area
Enjoy you birthday!!

Yesterday, I was contacted by my dr's office (text message), to remind me about a scheduled service and appt, I had for today, in error. We had this whole conversation, because I didn't know what she was talking about. In the end, it turned out, she had contacted me in error. (I was not happy because I didn't feel well and she woke me up.) Then she asked me to leave a review about their service, which I did not, because it was an error,on their part. Today, I got a reminder, to please leave review. WTF? I text back and asked, do you really want me to leave a review about the error you made?
I love my doctor, but the staff makes stupid errors, all the time, IMO. The one time I did leave a review and mentioned the error I had been dealing with, no one contacted me, about it. I don't want to get on their bad side. So I ignore their requests, to review their service.
What would you do?

If you leave an honest review, you risk having more problems and they don't seem to use the review to improve performance. I trashed the review request I got today from the faucet manufacturer because it was not going to be pretty. They really don't want to see zero stars and you are a bunch of losers.

Magnesium is in my daily supplements. I will take additional potassium when they are particularly deep in the muscle and bad. My 3 x a week supplements have potassium in them. I also take calcium twice a day.
For me I get cramps when there is too much sodium in my system and not enough potassium. It happens when it happens and for me I usually ate an apple, took some EmergenC until things got better or similar. Calcium and magnesium are also supposed to be in balance as well. Not sure how pickle juice or mustard would help. I save pickle juice for other things and it has more sugar and salt in it than I would want to use except for one I use a Tbsp or so for tuna pasta salad. What would mustard do? I know some folks needs to add sodium if the eat bananas and other high potassium foods regularly. Hydration can be key for me as well as too little liquid then sodium tends to be retained by me.

In Multivite supplements, there are only very small amounts of everything. I take 500 mgs of of magnesium daily. Sometimes 1,000 mgs. How much magnesium in your daily supplement?

A friend recommended this remedy for age/sun spots on hands/face/elsewhere. It is Crest Toothpaste. I have noticed lightening in 3 days. I did take a photo so I could compare before/after. I saw on pinterest to combine with vaseline also - havent tried it but I should😔

I think you can leave an honest review, but great doctor and mismanaged mediocre office staff (at best) is par for the course it seems like anymore so why waste the time. I'm sure it isn't that easy, and that it really is an issue with # of clients, insurance, etc but it is so frustrating being a patient on the receiving end especially when you've been with them a long time and seen things run better.
