DH just collected another 5-gallon bucket of acorns and blew leaves off the deck. Thanks to my sinus infection and yesterday's exertions at the shred day, I went to bed at 8 and slept until 6 so the body is much less sore today. I made avocado toast with turkey breast and an egg for breakfast and finished mopping the floors. I'm going to work on the book until lunch and then we'll hit the grocery store for a few things. Tomorrow night's meeting will probably go until 8:30, so I'll probably take a big jug of coffee to stay awake to the bitter end. There's a bar here on the east side of town called The Bitter End. I must go there some day. That sounds very interesting - especially at closing time

Fridge is clean and cleaned out. New glass container storage system in use. Enjoying a small slice of cherry Danish and iced tea. Leftovers for dinner. Life is good at the moment.

half of my hallway carpet and stairs are clean. the hallway wasn't gross but holy cow the stairs. I'm mentally ok, but physically just exhausted. I'm hoarse from coughing so much.

I thawed chicken and thought it was chicken breast, no was thighs. Hubs will only eat white meat. I was thinking about frying them for me 4 big ones, but looked at them and they have the disgusting red bones, yuck. By the way the places that raise these get them into fryer size in about 4 weeks, game hens are 2 week old chickens. That is not natural or normal. When I raise them it takes them a few months to become chickens big enough to fry. So I've read the theory is they are raised so fast, the capillaries don't have time to mature and leaks blood into the bones. I don't know if they are genetically bred to grow that fast or fed growth hormones. Many other countries won't allow stuff like that.
Ok, so anyway, I decided to cut the bones out and fix a big pot of water and make broth for noodles, if they produce any flavor. I had bought them at Krogers, buy one get 2 free, so I haven't lost anything if its not edible. I need to get my real farm raised chicken at Odon, I know better. But you know a good sale sounded great. I may try to chop it up and add to the kitties food, little at a time. The meat is boiling and even it doesn't have a great smell. I guess I'm just to picky or so old I remember what real food smelled like cooking.
I took a few things to the basement and am taking some more to seal up in plastic bags. It's blankets I washed and will likely use in the winter. Also a pillow and some shoes. I need to make labels for the boxes I'm mailing tomorrow with Xmas gifts in them.
I have a lot I need to do today, just picking up and putting away.I brought up a few Thanksgiving decorations.
Would love to go somewhere, it's 58 out but the sun is shining. But it's a 100 miles to anything around to see or do or more. And hubs doesn't need to do that and I don't need to try and drive at night, so here we are, sigh.
I'm going to order a pair of Long Lee jeans for me. I have all kinds of Lands End but even the tall are getting to short. I wash them in cold water and dry on delicate.

Swept under the rabbit cages and in our closet we call the green room. Gave rabbits foos & fresh water. I started filing this am, but waiting for Target to pull the file and hanging folders I ordered about an hour ago. DH is watching the Packers Game. He wants to go for Hamburger & hardware store run at half time. I am going to take a quick shower.
DH cleaned up the leaves in the yard. He dumped them in the wetlands on the other side of our fence. (There was a lot of them). He really only had to do the fenced back yard. The rest of the leaves blew away. He is also trying to repair a blocked vent fan. He needs a different part.
G I just don’t have your motivation. Maybe I would if I didn’t have the record keeping for DH’s business.

I need to go back up to Ollie's. I saw some of the Martha Stewart 7 quart cast iron ceramic coated dutch ovens for $19.96. I bought one when they were $29 and would love to have another. I don't know why I didn't get one the other day. Yes, they are very heavy, but I can cook things in them where I need plenty of room and they won't spatter all over the stove. Like green beans cooked in them and all kinds of stuff. I will even fry hamburgers in them to keep them from getting my stove dirty.
I might just run up there this afternoon.
Hubs bought me new windshield wipers, he only measured one. He found out there are 2 different sizes on my car, we have never seen that before, how funny.
He is doing little things like some wiring. Or mulching leaves, things like that. But bless his heart, he is taking it easy like I asked him too. I imagine he is having some discomfort or would be trying more. But then this being his man parts probably pretty sensitive anyway, LOL! Still I was worried about having to keep on him about behaving himself and I'm not. Now if I was in the mood to cook some decent food.

Dad and I plugged in the clocks.
They worked. All the little doors opened and the little figures move as they sing.
I told dad this was my idea not his. He's going to have to up his gift game.😁

It takes the avocado toast to a whole new level. Delicious!

Back from Seattle and brunch. TD is out walking the dogs, I’m sacked out in the recliner under a blanket. It’s cold and wet out today.

I am flopping around and gasping for breath, like a fish out of sea. I do not feel like my feet are planted on solid ground, for the first time in my adult life. I am not as angry now, I am just really hurt. And the hurt and pain I feel, was really the root of all the anger I have been feeling and expressing since Thursday.
I am frankly terrified about having to reinvent myself and start over at my age. Mostly because the local housing market is so crazy right now. My biggest concern is where Imma live. My retirement plans are shot to hell if I have to pay a mortgage or rent in retirement. That is why I bailed on the original intention of my house just being a “starter home” and I decided to make it my “forever home”, when I realized my desire and need to retire asap was more important than selling and buying another house. My goal became to not have a mortgage payment in retirement, and paying rent was never even a consideration.
I feel so lost. I don’t exactly feel helpless, but I am realistic enough to know that even though I have a few options to try to help myself, it is near impossible for me to come out ahead of where I could be if I hadn’t been so foolish over the last 8 years.
I am not okay.

The driver side has always been longer. Did not matter if it was a sedan, trick, or SUV.

DD was supposed to work at 5 am this am. She went out with co-workers last night. I was reminding her she had to work at 5 am via text and got told none of them were drinking and she was an adult. It was well after midnight when she got home. I got up to let the dog out at 3:30 am and heard her alarm go off. I went back to bed w/o making sure she got up. She left the house at like 5:33. I would have got her up if I hadn’t fallen asleep, but I kind of decided she could be an “Adult” when I went back to bed. I slept like crap from worrying about her. Awake but feel like crap and feel guilty for letting her be late. Mom guilt is real, but sometimes our kids need to learn the hard lessons.

I am not okay. I think I understand what you are saying. If I do, that's what kept me in my marriage, and I would not recommend that choice to anyone. The problem is that we all have to make a choice at some point based on the best info we have at the moment. At a certain point in time we think a person is okay to trust, to build a future with. Later we realize that was a false assumption, but we didn't have that intel or perspective at the previous time.

chiver78 I say new phone. But I've been salivating over the z flip phones for almost 2 years. I'm shocked you got 5 years out of yours. Mine always seem to have some sort of issues at 3 years. My YM card was revoked at least a decade ago, and I'm ok with that.

I feel so lost. I am not okay. Hugs, Pink. That's where I was last year. I know you will find your way. It just may take some time. Which, is really the hard part, to see what might unfold. When you know it's been bad for a while, and you just brushed it off. And then there's that moment where you see how bad it really is, and you just can't get out fast enough...I think that's the worst spot to be in. Because you see things clearly, and you have to be patient. You'll come out OK the other side. I have faith in that. There's just going to be crap to get through, first.

I am not okay. My phone has been wonky and I could not reply to your earlier posts. I'm very sorry that you are going through all of this. I'm especially sad that trying to have a conversation with Mister turned into him trying to turn things back on you. That is destructive behavior. My original suggestion was going to ask if you could get away for a day or 2 at your daughter's, but it sounds like you are just done. IME, it takes a lot for a woman to get to that point and once she is there there is no going back. Looking back changes nothing and is a waste of time, IME. If I read correctly it sounds like you have no "legal" stake in this house, which also means you can walk away without further financial issues. Starting over is difficult and scary but I have no doubt you can handle it and it is better to be starting over in a better head space, which will hopefully help your current physical issues, while you are able to continue to work and not 100% locked in financially to someone who does not appreciate you. Sending hugs and praying for you my friend. ❤️

Pink Cashmere, you don't have to decide anything today. Just breathe, and take things slowly. We are here to vent to, 24 hours a day (mostly).

I know its any easy surgery but the thought of anyone in my eyeballs gives me the Willie's and the heebee jeebees Shudder I have had very bad eyesight since I was a young child. I wore very thick glasses even when I was in first grade. I am very weird about anything I perceive as a potential threat to my eyeballs, because I am very protective of what little natural vision I do have. So I understand your Willie’s and heebie jeebies, even if the root causes are different. But, I will also say that both my Grandmom and my Mom had surgeries for cataracts, and both surgeries were successful, with no issues, and neither of them regretted it. I completely understand you being wary about it, and if I could come hold your hand and try to assure you that it will be okay, I would.

I was awake but it goes quickly You’ll be so happy with better vision!
