Its supposed to get cold here tomorrow along with rain. It's currently 49°F(feels like 45°). The high temperature for today/Thursday is predicted to be 48°F. Followed by colder weather and possibly light snow over the weekend. I don't want winter weather yet! I don't even want cold rainy weather. I have really enjoyed the weather, the last few weeks. I haven't turned off my A/C yet. Maybe I will, this weekend. I hope I don't need to turn my furnace on for the season yet.

Back among the living, or at least functional Logged into a zoom seminar and someone is a. logged in from the gym and b. has both camera and microphone on while puffing away on the treadmill. Trying to fill out and review the durable POA documents for my mother’s brokerage account. It is surprisingly upsetting and I Don’t Wanna. I will anyway, it’s just going to take me an extra day or so.

I might have some consulting opportunities come my way. It's early yet, so who knows.
I feel important and all hoity-toity though. And its fun, even if it's just for a moment.

Up and got my coffee. It’s a whopping 34° out and just a little chilly (at least for this area at this time of year). I’m not feeling the looming winter, I wish we had a trip South planned.

Awakened at 1:20 am when the power went out and the generator came on. Fortunately power was restored within 30 minutes but the damage was done to my sleep cycle and I tossed the rest of the night.

There is a potluck right when I need to take my phone call with the funeral home. That works great me disappearing won't be a huge deal because no one else is working either during that time.
Trying to do everything on my lunch break is not going to work out very well but I am trying to walk that fine line so I don't get my ass handed to me again. Don't know where it came from since they were supportive before. The week I got my ass handed to me over was the first one in months where I spent any serious time on the phone or internet working on it.
Whatever. I have a feeling something changed in the background that I was not made privvy too until I was suddenly in trouble for it. Metrics and KPIS and tracking were mentioned in our last meeting so I am betting that had something to do with it. I am failing some benchmark that was decided for me that I never knew about.
The Medicaid lady is doing her best to respect my limitations which I appreciate. It has been nice to work with someone who understands I have obligations outside of grandma. And respects that those obligations come first. I can't pay my mortgage by telling them I got fired but it's okay I was doing God's work.

Dammit. Notarized signature required. This is karma for forging my mother’s signature on my homework back in 8th grade, isn’t it.
(My parents found out bc they saw it at parent-teacher night and at that point my handwriting was an exact match for hers, very copperplate. Mother: I don’t remember signing this… Father: Well, that is your handwriting. Mother: True. )

My brother forged my dad's signature so often in high school when the principal who took the excuse notes in the morning got one actually signed by my father he thought it was fake.

Writing genetics are weird, man. Dad complained about his terrible handwriting which I think both my brothers got. Mine and my mother’s were perfect copperplate-I rarely do cursive and have intentionally made my signature less legible but my printing is still very neat. I have very good dexterity; OB wore Velcro shoes at least into high school bc he had trouble tying laces. DS seems to be taking after the male side of my family

His handwriting is abysmal...like to the point that it's going to be an issue for him in school soon because teachers can't read math proofs or papers. He's lucky that more and more is being done on computers.

My grandma signed for my grandpa my entire life. She signed Mrs Husband's Name. My brother remembers going to the bank with her and she was getting a check cashed for spending money. It was likely one of the dividend checks. There were 2 sets of stock, one joint and one in his name only. Some shenanigans by Ma Bell when they were busted up and he retired.
My brother says the bank teller sent the check back out saying my grandpa had to sign. Grandma got a pen from her purse signed, sent it back and they cashed it.
DH's signature is just scribbles I swear.
I hardly ever sign my full name. Turns out I can't sign my middle name worth a crap. I think it was the stock transfer forms I had to do it. After the first one was bad, I practiced.

He's lucky that more and more is being done on computers. DD1's AP History teacher won't let the kids do their work on computers because of ChatGPT. So she has to handwrite everything. She's already got calluses.

Well, I called my DB and he was not gone yet. Leaves Wednesday for Denver, back on Saturday, Then they leave on a family Vacay for 2 weeks. So we tag teamed it. I had called the cable company and had the signal reset, he stopped by between sales calls and turned box off and on and reset it to correct HDMI channel. I was sorry I did not hang around to see how to tune in the HDMI channel. I was worried about taking too long for lunch. I was 15 minutes late, not a big deal - but not good to take much longer than that. Theo, I hope you are convinced. We value you. It would not be the same without you.

Made an unplanned visit to my local site today. Ran into old manager for the first time since I transitioned to corporate. That were terse. I thought that I would retire from that site - until he was hired. 4 months in I updated my resume because I knew that I would not last because I ask too many questions and let his shady dealings into the light.
I did see a lot of other people that I have actually missed, so it was a nice visit. The visit request came from an engineer who needed assistance on something that I used to do, that was tasked to someone else. That person told my old manager (her current manager) that she did not know how to do it and his reply was "it is not that difficult" and walked away - even though he has never done it and it is in fact difficult. What a douche.
And I told him when I left that I am still close by and that they could call me anytime and I would help if I could. Radio silence for 6 months - until last week when he was handed his ass on an audit for a project that I ran successfully and was handed off to him when I left. Karma is a b*tch.
