CG - don't go yet tonight if you're not comfortable driving this late. They can't release him if he doesn't have a ride.
Don't worry too much about him not passing gas yet. Happens often. Bowels can take a bit to wake back up.

I just hope he is ok and doesn't require more surgery. He seems to be having several issues. I'm not saying to him but I'm worried about him.

Along with several pounds of political flyers and Medicare ads, we got a flyer for a new 55+ apartment complex opening in Houston so we may go have a look-see Sunday. We're still pretty committed to our house but it's just smart to keep up-to-date on apartment options in our part of the world. And there is simply no way to know the real costs of renting without asking the tough questions. The monthly apartment rental is just the tip of the iceberg-then you have a fee for each parking space (more for a secure garage), burglar alarm system, amenities like pool, gym, etc. and all sorts of other stuff.
I have one more year to serve on our association board so we will be theoretically free to go after that if we choose to. But I'm not looking forward to cooking with an electric stove again if we do.

He just called and said they aren't releasing him tonight, so that's good. The reason isn't so good though, not because of me, but issues he is having.
Thank goodness we have good insurance, it won't cost us anything as we have plan G for him. The premiums sound high until you have issues like this.

You might be able to call the nurses station on his floor to get more info. Could also find out when his doctor typically makes rounds and try to be there for that to hear the update and ask any questions. Or be put on your DHs speaker phone if that timing works better.

The funeral boondoggle may work out in my favor in as much if the life insurance belongs to grandma I can change who owns it to whomever I want.
Which means not having to have it in the middle of nowhere. I can change it to the funeral home owned by the cemetery where her plot is.
We'll see I have to take a call with them tomorrow.
It is unlikely we will be able to file by November 1st. She'll have to be pushed to December.
The Medicaid lady wrote out an agreement that grandma's social security goes to the home during all this. At least I won't have to worry about them threatening me this time.
And it is to keep her at the Medicaid threshold so when we're ready to file we don't have a shitload to spend down.
I'm so tired.

countrygirl2, don't fret about the not passing gas. Anesthesia slows things down. My friend had a hysterectomy about 25 years ago. They wouldn't discharge her until she passed gas. She shared the room with another woman who had a hysterectomy and both of them were waiting around trying to fart. Finally, the other woman did. It was impressive. Obviously, my friend did too, eventually.

I helpfully pointed out that I didn't want to tell her how to do her job, but that's not where my heart was. After she stopped laughing, she said she was listening to my intestines and mine were gurgling loudly.

I had a fight with a nurse who wanted me to pee immediately after I had Gwen.
I hadn't had so much as a sip of water in about 10 hours. WTF makes you think I can pee?!
A more experienced nurse showed up and told her to knock it off I needed to hydrate first. If I didn't pee after that THEN it's a problem.
And sure enough I went..all over the floor. I told DH to find the first nurse and say "Look she peed over there and over there and right here"
🤣
Sometimes it takes awhile if you aren't eating or drinking anything that will engage whatever bodily function the doctor's demand.
Unless they are feeding him kale juice there probably isn't a ton of gas generating options in his diet.
All the stuff they are doing is to cover their asses. Better safe than sorry. But I wouldn't worry yourself just yet.

I got Mexican delivery for dinner and it was amazing. This day has felt 3 years long, so no way was I trying to do anything more involved than ordering delivery. And I still have churros for dessert! Win!

Countrygirl I hope things start moving for your hubs. I’m glad they are keeping him at least one more night - he’s in the best place he can be right now. I know how nerve wracking it can be, though, when you’re stuck at home and can’t DO anything to help. I hope you get some rest tonight.

The concert was fun. Reminded me of some wonderful Monday evenings. I wouldn't have to pay but it was fine. Several of the regulars were watching and so we got to chat with each other.
Crosby is still very much a part of her musical life. She has her own unreleased live album that he went to Toronto to record in December 2021. She said at least he had signed all the releases so that his part can be on the live album.
The one that he said was ready to go for pressing last December (he died in January), is totally up in the air. He said it was right up there as being one of the best albums he had ever done. I don't know if it's an issue with the estate or what, but I hope it gets released.

OMFG I spent a half hour in Medicare hell trying to get premium statements for grandma's part D plan. The person on the phone barely spoke English I was ready to strangle her through the phone., Then after all that I found out they don't have my POA on file so she refused to talk to me after that. I know it sounds bad that I am mad about her not speaking English but if you are in customer service for something critical like Medicare you should be able to speak it competently enough I can understand you and vice versa. Having to spell my name 18 times over is not efficient use of my time. HUCA. hang up call again You’ll get a different agent. Don’t continue with incompetent people, you have enough stress already

Not good, they have given hubs meds to try and help him. He said burping yes, but not the other. So after a day of this and night they are doing an ultrasound, sounds like something might have gone wrong. I sure hope not, but he said he has been walking and walking and nothing. This is not good. I'm hoping the bowel was not compromised somewhere. He said the orders and everything are in, but I'm not sure if I can drive from out here at night. Been a long time since I have tried. Once I get to highway 41 I would be ok. I have a hard time seeing at night. Another reason we don't need to be living in the country and I will not be if alone. It's 7 and he has not be released so don't think he will be tonight. That makes a vote for the over 55 modular or a place nearby in that area. I suppose our location is going to take care of itself by the time we are ready, though I hope its not due to hubs having some type of illness. No reason for you to pick him up at night. If he’s cleared you can just go the next morning.

Having to spell my name 18 times over is not efficient use of my time. HUCA. hang up call again You’ll get a different agent. Don’t continue with incompetent people, you have enough stress already That reminds me of the morning Mister’s Mom died. His parents’ mortgage company had made an appointment with a notary to come to the hospital that same afternoon for them to sign some papers to modify their mortgage. Mister didn’t have info to contact the notary person, so he called the mortgage company to cancel the appointment. I got SO mad because I listened to him explain at least 10 times (seriously) that he was trying to cancel the appointment because his Mom had just died a few hours ago. At one point, he was frustrated and said “One of the people that’s supposed to sign the papers this afternoon, can’t sign BECAUSE SHE’S DEAD”. He looked like he was about to cry. I snatched the phone out of his hand and said “how many times are you going to make him say that his Mom just died, put somebody else on the DAMN phone that has some DAMN sense”. If we’d been in person, I probably would’ve assaulted somebody. For real. That’s just how mad I was. Because how stupid and how much of an asshole can you be? We ended up doing exactly what you suggested, just hanging up. And when we called back, we got a lady that was smart enough to understand the situation on the first try, and after she offered her condolences the first time she was told that his Mom had just passed a few hours prior, she was very kind and helpful with telling us what we needed to do. I got mad again, just remembering that. I guess that’s one of the reasons why I need therapy lol.

I love that Wilbur is teaching Charlotte to be a pet.
Shes alwayd been so reserved. We caught her playing with toys tonight copying Wilbur.
She wrestles with him constantly.
We are not super thrilled with their attempts to dig a hole to China in the backyard but we are happy Charlotte is having fun and has a tiny partner in crime.
Wilburs attempts at digging holes are silly. They are barely divots. We call them baby holes. Hes so proud of copying Charlotte.

Nope, not off base The Walk of the Penguin Mich . Knowing that something is very unlikely to happen again is not the same as feeling it. Even if on an intellectual level you know it is not airline dependent your gut will say "yea but..." For what it is worth, Malaysia Airlines is a very pleasant/good airline to fly with. Good, it’s one of the few that can get us to Bangkok nonstop. Now, if I could only get Delta miles!

I had said I wasn’t going to post this evening, because I didn’t have anything good to say, because I’m cranky. My sinuses still aren’t right, and my teeth still hurt, but not as bad. But still enough that I can’t comfortable eat, so part of my crankiness might be because I’m hangry. Then it took forever for me to get home from work because traffic on the interstate was so backed up. Fortunately I was able to safely get across several lanes to get off, when I saw traffic ahead was at a standstill. Unfortunately, a million other cars did the same, so it still took forever for me to get home. But the time dealing with that traffic was still better than sitting still on the flyover. I would’ve been a nervous wreck sitting still that high in the air. That part of the expressway/interstate was built, maybe 10 years ago (I really don’t remember how long it’s been), and I remember reading a few years ago that it’s the highest flyover in Tennessee. I’m afraid of bridges, and to me, that’s basically a bridge over land. I don’t like it. I would’ve probably had a meltdown if I had to sit still and just be able to move inches across it, like the traffic I saw was doing. Mister left before I got home, to go take Kiddo to basketball practice. Kiddo’s Mom has already bailed on taking him, and it just started last week. I typed and deleted a whole rant about that either yesterday or Monday. She called Mister this past Monday afternoon to ask him to take Kiddo, but he couldn’t because of work stuff. Well, apparently she didn’t even try to take him last Wednesday either, because when Mister got there this evening, they said Kiddo only has practice on Mondays. So if his Mom didn’t know that, that means she didn’t take him last Wednesday, because she told Mister last Monday that he has practice on Mondays and Wednesdays, and asked him at the last minute (again!) to take him today. Which Mister made it his business to make happen, for no reason. Mister taking him is not the issue, it’s her waiting until the last minute to ask him to, that is the problem. And also that she signs Kiddo up for stuff without talking to Mister about it and the schedule ahead of time, and then expects him to be available to take Kiddo, regardless of his work schedule, with a couple hours of notice. Mister has no problem showing up when he gets off work, but he can’t randomly leave work all the time when she bails on taking Kiddo to something she signed him up for. Keep in mind, she doesn’t have a job besides raising Kiddo. Anyway, that’s Mister’s problem. I only got irritated about today because Mister is responsible for cooking on Wednesdays, and I forgot Kiddo supposedly had practice today. But then I said I can’t really eat anyway because my teeth are still bothering me, so whatever. After Kiddo didn’t actually have practice, Mister took him back home, came home, and then went to get something from Firehouse Subs for us to eat. He did that on his own, I wasn’t bitching or being ugly, I promise! I am just kind of out of sorts, and even though I admit I’m cranky, I’m not being an ass with Mister. He says I was an ass last night though, so I have been trying to do better tonight. I know my vibe wasn’t right last night, because he kept asking me if I was okay, what I needed, was I okay, and what did I need…. until we went to bed. I told him today that my sinus shit and really just my teeth hurting, feels like a whole ‘nother huge of shit piled on top of all the other shit that’s been causing me to not feel good. Anyway again, I’m going to do the only thing I know to do when I’m out of sorts like this, and just take my ass to bed and try again tomorrow.

Just like most women, every few days on Facebook, I get someone replying to a post or comment that I made. It's always a picture of some middle aged guy in military uniform, and they always say something like, "I think your posts are incisive and show you are a sensitive person; your profile picture shows you are beautiful, blah, blah, please send me a friend request." FB says there is nothing wrong with these posts and won't do anything. Lately, I have started replying to them. The first time, I told him that I charge $5.00 per reply and accept PayPal and Venmo. (No account information given.) FB removed my response stating it violates their cybersecurity rules. The original reply from the scammer was left untouched. I have made similar replies to a couple of others, saying I charge to reply but not mentioning what types of payment I accept, and FB again removed them for violating cybersecurity. Where is the security to protect people from obvious scammers?
My "beautiful FB profile picture" is a rock painted to look like a toad.

Mister and I have IPhones and they make themed videos of your pictures ever so often, complete with music. He sent me a video today of Newbie and Boy and o.m.g. it was SO precious. They are both in all of the pictures, and they start from when Boy was a tiny puppy. In at least half of them, he is snuggled up with Newbie, or laying on top of her, which he still does to this day. Boy very clearly adores Newbie, but she is so nonchalant that I can’t tell if she loves him or just tolerates him. Either way, the pictures gave me all the feels. I am very glad that they have each other.

Where is the security to protect people from obvious scammers? My "beautiful FB profile picture" is a rock painted to look like a toad. That kind of stuff is why I try to stay on top of privacy settings for my page, and don’t comment on random public posts. When I post, it can only be seen by my “friends”, and compared to other people, I don’t have that many FB friends. I don’t accept most of the friend requests I get, even if I know who the person is. I have noticed that my FB friends that have their pages public, get the kind of comments you mention, under their posts. So I very rarely comment on their posts. Well, honestly, I don’t comment much anyway, but when I do, it’s usually not on one of those friends’ posts. I will like, care, love, or laugh….. with the emojis, but not comment. LOL at your “beautiful FB profile picture” that the scammers try to use to draw you in.

To add to this post, traffic issues is another reason I don’t like my new work schedule. I use to get off work at 2:30pm. Traffic wasn’t an issue getting home, and I could stop at stores on the way home, that weren’t crowded yet. With my current work schedule, traffic is often an issue, and I dare not stop at a crowded store on my way home. And now it is getting to the time of year that I will be coming home from work while it is dark outside. Because it took so long for me to get home today, it was almost dark when I got here. I parked the Jeep in front of Mister’s old Lincoln, instead of it’s normal spot in the driveway, because this morning I noticed that ants are making their homes in cracks in the driveway, where I park the Jeep, and I didn’t want to disturb them and have them crawl inside the Jeep. By the time I got home, there wasn’t enough sunlight to see well enough for me to be comfortable spraying the mounds in case they swarmed out and toward me, so I just didn’t park there. And in my mind, there shouldn’t even be cracks in the driveway for ants to make mounds, since Mister paid over $8k to fix the damn driveway. But that is another story. When I had to be at work at 6am, most of the year I left home in the dark, but when I could make it work that I could sneak off for a minute, I would go outside on the dock, just to watch the sunrise. I am rambling, and I should be in bed by now, so I will hush now. Goodnight.

I sure hope you get feeling better soon, Pink.
I'm happy for Mister, getting the promotion he wanted.
The ants can wait for another day.

Rest well, everyone.
I feel like for one reason, or another, everyone could use a good night's sleep and rest.

Just got home from the P!nk concert. DC early bday gift. We had a great time. They'll get to sleep in and go to school late.

Good morning, intentional invisipeeps, earnestly wending your way through the week. I hope your Thursday is easy, painless and stress-free and that no trespassing animals poop on your lawn. And that something makes you laugh out loud. DH spent last afternoon, evening and most of the night preparing for the show on Saturday. I'm so happy to see him immersed in this. We're leaving tomorrow to get to the north shore where the show will be. DSis rented us a room at a hotel in the area. I've got quite a bit to do today to get ready as well. This show is different with a Finnish theme. We're offering cards, mainly, and some pics we took in Helsinki when we went to visit years ago. I started looking through my photos. I think I may take up your suggestion, toomuchreality, and make some calendars. If you are interested in getting one, send me a PM. I'll let you know. Franklin the Dog looks all spiffy now that he's groomed. It makes me smile to think of your two dogs playing, NomoreDramaQ1015, andi9899, chiver78 and Pink Cashmere. Every now and then DH has proposed we get another dog so the two can entertain each other, but I always tell him we can if he'll brush Franklin every day for 90 days. That never happens. I just cannot take on another. I'd wind up doing the work of exercising and cleaning up. Today is again supposed to be (too) warm, hitting in the low 70's. The night and early morning are fine, though, in the 50's. This is the crack of dawn yesterday at the beach:
