The weather was mid 70s last night, so DH and I sat out on the front porch to hand out the Halloween candy. The restaurant across the street had a boom box playing retro Halloween themed rock, like Thriller and Ghost Busters. We had about 600 kids. I really enjoyed seeing all the costumes, although it was strange seeing our streets absolutely packed with families like some sort of city, when in fact we are a small town of about 4000.
I overbought candy, since I ran out to the store to buy more yesterday when I saw how nice the weather would be. I am going to experiment with crushing it up and mixing it into vanilla ice cream.

from my experience , my body knew i wasn't fine as i kept telling myself.
i didn't start clenching my teeth so hard that i was breaking fillings until after i was done with my cancer treatment, declared no evidence of disease and the pandemic was declared over. dad had been gone over a year by then.

DH is working on his tree stand AKA tree house (10x10 enclosed, windows, heater, the whole nine yards). Just came in my office to ask if I had a Sharpie that he could keep in his building. There are at least 10 next to the phone in the living room (yes, we still have a landline), and now I am sure that he knows nothing about who I work for. I could have prototype Sharpies here by Monday. I realize that sort of outs me to other things I have posted before about my employer, but I also offered to extend "Friends and Family" sales on here.

I am going to experiment with crushing it up and mixing it into vanilla ice cream. This is what we've been doing all week! I use my kitchenaid with the flat paddle. First, put your mixing bowl in the freezer for at least ten minutes. Then, take it out, scoop your ice cream into it, and mix it on low /medium until it is creamy. Then add in crushed candy (I just beat the candy with a meat tenderizer instead of dirtying my blender). Mix on low until it is all mixed in, and enjoy!

Is there any chance you have IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) Pink Cashmere ? Both DS & I have it, and I have to be careful to NOT skip meals, and I also have to eat a certain amount of fiber to not be in any pain. Typically granola is part of breakfast for me personally every day. Yes, stress is a trigger. An empty stomach is the enemy, so the goal is to keep something (preferably healthy) running thru your colon at all times. Before I knew what I was suffering from, I would get pain that rivaled labor pains. Just try something: even when you're not hungry, try to eat something, even if it's just some crackers & a bit of protein. Ideally, you want to have some salad or fresh fruit/veggies too. The next time life gets challenging, eat a small meal anyway, and see if you get pains in the next 48 hours. (I'm just telling you what works for me. The pediatrician my kids went to for years had to take a prescription for his IBS.) Best wishes! Last year I was diagnosed with IBS induced by stress, or however they worded it. Thank you for your suggestions. And the hug.

This is what I’ve learned is a problem for me. I’ve been working really hard to manage stress better and not letting other people’s bs that has nothing to do with me, stress me out in the first place. And I’ve finally started recognizing my body’s reactions, sometimes. But still, there are times when I think I’m okay and my body says no, we are not okay, or even when I use some of the things I’ve learned in counseling to calm my nerves, my stomach just doesn’t get the memo or something.

Thank you for your suggestions. And the hug. When I was pregnant, I had terrible morning sickness. In those days I drove over an hour to and from work. I learned to keep pretzels handy to settle my stomach. I think this is also how to handle seasickness. Don't let your tummy get empty, just keep something easy you can munch on. Salt and carbs seems to be a good combo. Just putting this out there! Hugs Pink - I also have stress induced digestive issues. It is not fun and I just hate it.

We were in the car yesterday and my sister was pissed. My niece has been clenching her teeth so hard that she's chipping teeth. She recently got one of them crowned, but now it's infected and she's positive that the dentist caused it. TD and I pointed out to her that if she's clenching her teeth hard enough to chip her tooth, she's likely cracking the support of the tooth too. I think we took the wind out of her sails, as she was ready to tear into the dentist.

Honestly, I think what is needed is time. More time that what we think. I'm not very big on calling the things that have happened to me as big and scary. It's not exactly minimizing, but it's not really coming to terms with it either. I think because of that, I think I should be through something, and I'm not.
I just started remembering my dreams again with some regularity. (ie, more than a one off at a random time). It's been at least 5 years since I've remembered dreams regularly.

We just spent the coolest 2-1/2 hours with our new friend, the widow of my former boss, who came to visit her 94 year-old aunt. We literally could have spent the rest of the day talking. Even DH came out of his shell and yacked it up. It's really eerie because our lives have followed parallel paths in many ways, like on the same journey separated by a decade or so. Besides growing up in the subdivision where we live now, she and DH even graduated from the same university, about 13 years apart. We all share so many interests and passions and philosophies.

I had a piece of pie to celebrate. I get another MRI in 6 months. Because why not? But, there's also nothing really to worry about.

I spent a couple of frustrating hours this morning shopping with DH. We don't shop together very often. Somehow I always annoy him, get in his way, etc. He never says anything but he is so cranky by the time we get home. It's just not worth going with him, even when he wants my opinion about something.
Most days we get along okay, but shopping and vacations can be stressful. I hope I don't kill him during our upcoming cruise - the freezer won't be handy!

Speaking of friends and family sales, there is one going on right now until Nov 19. If you want a deal from Coleman, Graco, Marmot, Yankee candle, Foodsaver, or Calphalon send me a PM and I can email a link. Almost everything is 50% off for "Friends and Family".

Just had the most nerve wrecking afternoon. Took teen to library to meet nut for appt. Nut was dropped off by boyfriend but then proceeded to walk teen towards outside bench. Come to find out the house she's staying at backs up to library and she led teen inside. I sped my van closer once I caught on and yelled at teen to stop but she said it will be OK and kept going.
About that time school social worker called me back so I answered and explained that teen was now alone with abuser. She reiterated that nut has all the legal rights and I could call cops for wellness check if I truly thought she was in physical danger. I said 50/50 but def psychological danger. She said go text teen every 10 mins and call cops if she wasn't out in an hour.
Worst, scariest fucking hour of my life. Teen kept texting back and I watched her phone location. Called my mom to keep from losing my shit. Teen finally came out at the end of the hour and nut proceeded to stand in the backyard yelling and gesturing at teen and towards me. About when I went to call police, teen came back to my car. We both sobbed all the way home and she won't talk.
My nerves are absolutely shot and I won't fall for such bullshit again. Fucking telehealth medicaid exception is only in place bc teen missed two appts in sept due to stress seizures from dreading psych appt with just me. Will be calling medicaid social worker to see if she won't revoke wxcpetion so teen has to come into office next time.
This just continues to get crazier and worse. I'm a wreck so I can't even begin to imagine how teen feels.
Will also be calling legal aid again on Monday. How the fuck can everyone but me continue to allow nut to retraumatize teen whenever she feels like getting revenge.
