I think I'm in love with the Medicaid lady. She's wiping the floor with the mansplaining insurance agent. You need to send her flowers!

I'm home from two days at my old site, and I'm exhausted. I ran into 3 former coworkers* I didn't see yesterday, so it was like a reunion all over again today. I'm currently sitting on the deck with a cocktail, waiting on all the work apps to load up so I can finish my day here. I'm streaming the news on my phone to catch up on what all happened in Maine since I left my house at 8am. I need to check in with my college roommate again, she was going to try to sleep last we spoke this morning since it was finally daylight again. she's in Lisbon, where the psycho's car was found.
*pharma in this area is a tiny industry when you consider everyone changing jobs and moving around. it's like the 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon game, and the majority of people in this industry have spent a stint at the place I spent 14 years, so I know a TON of people. 2 of today's 3 weren't coworkers at the site I was at today.

oh, and handwriting. lol..... well, I'm a "saved" lefty, so I'm kind of a hot mess. like my sister, I sign my last name with the same ornate capital "A" that our mother uses, from years of forging her signature back in school. lol....my script rarely happens, but when it does it's a solid match for my late grandmother's - very old lady writing. my typical handwriting, I remember teachers asking me why I was tracing letters backwards (o's, a's, x, etc) but I was tracing them the same orientation I had done before my kindergarten teacher "saved" my heathen ass. this is why my script matches my grandmother's - I do a lot of things the way I watched others do them. I tied my shoes in the exact mirror to how my father would tie them for me when I was small. it's what I saw, and I knew from the writing that I wasn't doing it "the right way" so I had to figure out/teach myself another way.

Waiting with Jerseyguy while he gets his last! Immunotherapy infusion. I get 2nd of 4 next week. We’re both doing much better. I’m glad though that I went out to California to visit son while housekeeper still was here. Tomorrow is her last day. She was integral to us getting through a difficult time. Expensive ($5000/month) but grateful we had resources. Next week handyman starts on windows so bank account still going down! I’ll call up the cleaning group that I liked so much to restart. They only came for the initial deep clean then the next week diagnosed with colon cancer. Life is good right now!

I think I'm in love with the Medicaid lady. She's wiping the floor with the mansplaining insurance agent. You need to send her flowers! She must have heard me snicker even with the phone turned away because she asked me while I was on hold if I was enjoying the conversation. Yes yes I was. I especially liked the part where he was like "Well I have 10 years experience" and she goes "Okay. I have 14 so... ." I full on laughed when she got everything done and goes "Well look at that we all learned something today" The guy really was a tool. It is going to be a mess to sort out but it should get solved. However I think I done fucked up telling my dad what was going on. I don't have the money to hire him a lawyer for a murder trial. Angry is an understatement for how my dad feels about all this. Due to this mess Medicaid can't be filed next week. We have to put it off till December. She's handled everything with the nursing home I just got to follow what she told me to do which I have been reading over and just sent her some follow up questions.

Why do the largest numbers of blatant scam emails recommend updating my McAfee antivirus program? The email address of the second today was just a string of letters and symbols. So lame

So lameI see this more from scammers that try to replicate CVS Pharmacy notifications. I've had this since I was forced to sign up for a CVS account in order to process my in-port COVID test in the fall of 2021. I didn't have one otherwise, and I'll never use it again. but I can't delete the damn thing, either. (if someone knows how, PLEASE clue me in!?)

What kind of wife can’t ‘forge’ her husband’s signature?? One that ended up divorced? I was never able to forge xH signature. It might have something to do with the fact that I am a leftie and he most decidedly is not. My ambidextrous DS1 found my signature easier to forge than his father's. He fessed up to that long after the fact - when he had graduated college and had flown the nest

What kind of wife can’t ‘forge’ her husband’s signature?? Wouldn't work if I tried. One of us is a "righty", and the other is a "lefty". This is why I never tried to forge mom's signature and all of the teachers knew dad never signed anything concerning school if at all possible. Only the damn high school schedule.

DH's handwriting is much nicer than mine. I can't forge his but he can forge mine pretty easy. On the flip side my dad's is so terrible when I tried to forge it in 4th grade I got caught right away. He told me the give way was he could read it.

You can't read my married last name in a signature. It is just the first letter followed by a squiggly line. I did try in the beginning but a new signature at 34 years old just wasn't happening.

I use to forge my Mom’s signature. I could do it almost perfectly. I also use to forge my ex-husband’s signature on his paychecks and deposit them in the bank. That was with his permission, he’d come home from work and hand me his paycheck for me to handle everything.
I sign Mister’s name for him sometimes at restaurants, when he asks me to because he’s doing something else. I don’t even try to write it like he does though, even though I probably could. My skills are rusty now though lol.
I am right hand dominant, but I use to practice writing with my left hand, just to see if I could do it. I got pretty decent at it, but not as well I could write with my right hand.

What kind of wife can’t ‘forge’ her husband’s signature?? Never have and never will. FWIW, when his brother was divorcing his XW, BIL discovered that XW forged BIL’s signature on loan documents. BIL could either filed charged against the mother of children or pay off the loan. BIL choose to pay off the loan. This happened before I entered the picture but solidified never forging DH’s signature.

So I originally was supposed to be in Boulder tonight to see Rachel Maddow. I sold the ticket to someone who lives there, which turns out to have been a very wise decision. Rachel Maddow has Covid and has had to postpone the last 3 stops on her book tour.
I had been seeing pictures of Rachel, not wearing a mask, taking selfies with people and wondering if she would get through the tour. Nope she didn't.
Sounds like hers started just like mine. A really bad sore throat that was much worse when she woke up this morning.
I feel bad for the audience, especially those who are coming in from out of town. It's snowing in Boulder.
The Theater sent me a text and an email so they are doing the best they can to let people know.
The email says it will be rescheduled so I told the person I sold the ticket to no refund unless it is canceled.
We would have to figure out a way to transfer the ticket back to me so I could sell it.

I'm happy I called my doctor's office to see if I could get an RSV vaccine at my November appointment. They are only given at places like Walgreens but with a prescription only so my prescription has been sent to the store where I am doing grocery pick up tomorrow as well as getting a flu shot. Hopefully I can also get the RSV vaccine.

I've never tried to forge DH's signature which is totally illegible but very distinctive. For a period of time I was expert at forging my boss' 2nd wife's signature. I am so freaking grateful for a statute of limitations on some stuff. Just saying.

Isn't an annual termite inspection (known here as a termite bond) something you already do? If you have a policy ("bond"), the termite company shouldn't charge you anything extra to treat/retreat however often you need it. That's all it covers, though, most of the time unless you have either an expensive policy or one grandfathered in to have it cover repairs. You can't sell a house without a bond here. You don't have to keep it up, but you will have to purchase one again if you sell. That cost in line with your $800. It is only $185 if you renew each year. Given the prevalence of termites in the South, you would be penny wise/pound foolish not to. termites are not an issue with houses in the north. Actually, I was wrong. You aren't required to have a bond; it is just highly recommended. You are required to have a termite inspection to sell a house. My realtors have always written "bond" into the contract whether I was buying or selling.

A strange eating habit was pointed out to me on my last trip. I packed up most of my entree, there had been an appetizer, which prompted coworker to ask if it was not good. I told him it was delicious but I always only eat half of my plate at a restaurant and take the rest home. I feel full, so I always chalked it up to restaurant portions being so large.
On my way home today I stopped and got a salad at Bojangles. I ate half (about 3 hours ago) and was full. This wasn't a huge salad. I also got 2 bo-berry biscuits. 1 for me and 1 for DH. They aren't huge either, just regular biscuit size. I ate half of mine, felt full, and set it aside.
DH has always poked fun at me at for it. I'm starting to wonder if there is something more behind it. I have plenty of meat on my bones, but I actually eat very little in a day.

I wouldn't say that I forged my ex's signature - I simply signed for him when depositing his paychecks, etc. I also signed for loans, etc. This was all done with the loan officer's knowledge since he would call her up first to set up the loans.
I used to joke that he had no signature. With direct deposit, etc., that probably is really true now.

I also don't eat a lot in the day, and actually keep Gatorade and apple juice in small bottles in the fridge, for those days I'm actually shaky b/c I've forgotten to eat anything (I've had low blood sugar my whole life). a college friend commented on this a long time ago, that maybe I'm not eating enough in the day to get my metabolism going. that's probably the case, and may be for you. do you have access to a nutritionist?

You are required to have a termite inspection to sell a house. My realtors have always written "bond" into the contract whether I was buying or selling. This is really interesting. Back in 2015 termite damage and presence was detected so our property was treated and we pay an annual renewal fee around $300 to maintain the "bond". Most folks here have a property inspected when purchasing including termite inspection, but some waive the right of inspection and negotiate a lower purchase price. It's sort of a "pay me now or pay me later" thing. We have subterranean, dry wood, and Formosan termites here so it's a gamble for sure.

Community meeting tonight, the one where folks can be nominated from the floor or self-nominate, for the board of directors. Two of the official candidates have bailed in the last 24 hours, not surprising given the intimidation tactics. One got a message about "knowing where your kids go to school" so she dropped out and I can't blame her. The other nominee decided "my plate is full", probably for the same reason. I'm not running for re-election and have one more year on my term.

I usually eat one meal on Saturday and Sunday. It's usually at a restaurant and I only eat half my entree. I take the rest home and T2 usually gets to it before I get a chance to revisit it. During the week I eat lunch and dinner, but those are usually gym days so I need it. I'm not a skinny girl. Not fat, but not skinny.

Yes, I believe we are close size wise. I'd have to research on a nutritionist, but I do remember when I did the Weight Watchers points system in the late 2,000s that many times I struggled to use my points in the beginning. I was able to get there after a while, but it was really weird trying to train my brain that because I eat fewer times a day I needed to eat higher point foods in order to lose weight. So that does make sense.

So that does make sense. it's definitely worth a conversation if you have access to a nutritionist, IMHO. back when I reached out to one, I was actively playing hockey any chance I could get, so I was actually burning more calories than I ate. except we all partied after games, and so I made up probably half in the liquid calorie content. the woman wanted nothing to do with me until "I successfully completed AA" or some such other bullshit. well, I'm sorry, sugar, but light beer doesn't cause the problems I've had my whole life. so thanks for nothing. <cue the middle finger emoji we used to have....>

DD and I went up to see hubs this afternoon. Poor man can still not release the gas in his bowel. He can from his stomach. He is very bloated and said it was hurting him. He has been walking, they have given him all kinds of things even having him chew gum. They said if he had not by this evening were going to have to do something. They want it to happen naturally but poor guy can't keep on like this. He said they have taken all kinds of blood from him for testing. We are concerned the bowel has been injured some way. I read less than 1% are, but I sure hope he is not part of the 1%.
They even stopped pain meds because opiods cause bowel issues too. He was hurting more and said that was probably why.
We stayed till close to 5 and DD was getting tired so we headed out. I had to stop and get meds. I also picked up ham salad and cole slaw, she ate that. I'm eating some more of my salmon bites.
There are 4 sealed packages of salmon in the pack and each one a slightly different seasoning though I can't tell the difference. Sam's Club had them on sale, the pound was $11, a great price.
Than son calls and he is so mad, they are having trouble getting tests for DIL. He said something needs done, she had diarrhea all night again. She was not feeling good when I was up there and she too looked bloated. He was to the point he took off work to get the results and hand them to the doctor. Found out the phone number that lab used was not the right one. What a mess. I really worry about care up there. I'm starting to worry here too about hubs. He is not a complainer, and he knows all the nurses, he said they are all very nice to him. He doesn't realize people like him. They probably thought it was awful I had not been there 2 days in a row.
Son said DIL was teaching little guy how to cook his own breakfast. I told son if they needed me I could come up. I wonder if she is going to have to have surgery.
In good news, it was 78 here today and is to be tomorrow. Than after that looks like a high in the 50's some rain and in the 30's at night with a couple of nights in the 20's. Damn winter is coming, I hate it.
