Today was a lot of running around - grabbed a kolache and a donut, made copies, picked up a prescription, early voted, and went to the grocery store. Have one load of laundry done and another ready to go soon. Also I dug back through all the chapters I typed up in 2019 and found 5 related to a particular character he wants to work on and emailed those to him. He desperately needs an assistant because his memory is hot and he has never had to work with tech stuff like email before. I re-sent the emails from two days ago with the final 53 chapters because he can't find the ones I sent Monday

Last month, I had someone shadow me on how to complete 2 account reconciliations. It’s a 2-step process. She shadowed me for both processes. Yesterday and today, I’m sitting with her and shadowing her while she completes the 1st step. Let’s just say, I’m not sure well it will work out…. Some of the questions I’m asked are questions that she should already know at this level… I had issues like that at my last job. I've learned that some people just don't remember things well, but what drives me crazy is when training people like that they also NEVER take notes. 😡 Yep. I finally wrote up something and gave copies. I told them they needed to take notes for the adjustments of the specific things that they were doing. It did help, but annoyed me that I had to do the work in the first place (even though it did save me time afterwards).

So one of the flights I'm looking at to get us to Bangkok is Malaysian Air. I can't believe the visceral reaction I have about thinking of booking a flight on this airline. Logically, I know it's all emotional but yikes!

Eating lunch. Not liking the new process we started this week. Sad that it is our receptionist last day. I am on door duty until a new one is hired.

Logically, I know it's all emotional but yikes! I hear you. I can still remember the first few flights we booked on KLM after that horrific accident on Tenerife - and that was in 1977 for crying out loud. I am not afraid of flying but occasionally I still am relieved just to be off the ground

one of my friends has to drive past this yarn store daily in her commute to work. I wouldn't be able to do that.
That would be hard. I nearly ordered from there by opening the link!

Southwest dominates my home airport and is the only choice for most direct flights unless your destination is Charlotte or Atlanta. When they put the 737-Max back in service I was skittish.
I know the accidents were with foreign airlines who had versions lacking some equipment but still its that gut instinct that is hard to shake.
The max version is really nice but it's always in the back of my mind.
I'm ending the day early with some sick leave. Fridge and pantry are cleaned out for trash night. I'm doing a grocery pick up then shower and nap. DH is on my case to rest.

Isn't an annual termite inspection (known here as a termite bond) something you already do? If you have a policy ("bond"), the termite company shouldn't charge you anything extra to treat/retreat however often you need it. That's all it covers, though, most of the time unless you have either an expensive policy or one grandfathered in to have it cover repairs. You can't sell a house without a bond here. You don't have to keep it up, but you will have to purchase one again if you sell. That cost in line with your $800. It is only $185 if you renew each year. Given the prevalence of termites in the South, you would be penny wise/pound foolish not to. I've never heard of such a thing. I'm in Indiana, also. Not in Iowa or Colorado either. This house had to have a termite inspection that cost me $60. That was because it was a rural development loan.

Looking forward to spending this even at a live stream concert from Monday Night Piano Bar. She set up a Midwestern tour but no where close enough to me to even consider it.
This place in Cleveland does live streams so I can spend the same amount as I used to spend on her Monday Night Piano Bars and see her in concert.

I hate that, wiped out a whole post again. Not sure what I am hitting to do that or if my computer just has a mind of its own. Well will just condense it down to complaining about spending another $800 to have the sale house termitted. No active activity noted, just saw something from the past. VA apparently can do that even though the termite people told us by law can't treat without seeing active termites. The place in the past had been gutted to the studs and the original was likely built from native lumber which is harder than I don't know what. What happened to flight 370 is so horrific that my brain just doesn't want to go there. I'm not sure why that flight is just so gut wrenching, that's not the first time a pilot has downed a plane.

Let’s just say, he’s no longer employed here and it wasn’t his choice. I’ve written instructions on the process that are almost identical for each account. Today I was asked what to do with a type of schedule that she ran yesterday. It was like she had never seen it before. We’ll see how it goes…

Spent a half an hour trying to figure out why main wifi wasn't working. Yes, we have 2 carriers. One isn't completely reliable, but cost is minimal. One is more stable, and that was the one not working. It is the only one my laptop is instructed to connect to and I noticed it was out 10 minutes before a call. I connected to the other for the call and then started troubleshooting.
Ended up being that the power strip was turned off. 🤦♀️
In my defense, I got an email earlier in the week that the company was going to be running an update through the router this week that would take about 30 minutes, so at first I assumed that was what it was. Glad I didn't contact the carrier.

Nope, not off base The Walk of the Penguin Mich. Knowing that something is very unlikely to happen again is not the same as feeling it. Even if on an intellectual level you know it is not airline dependent your gut will say "yea but..." For what it is worth, Malaysia Airlines is a very pleasant/good airline to fly with.

LOL! I'm just stirring the pot in one of the FB groups I belong to. I hope I don't get tossed.
There is a specific Viking Expedition group I belong to. We haven't done one of these yet, but it's on our radar. TD wants to do Antarctica, it just hasn't fit in the schedule yet. Someone on the group asked about tours in Buenos Aires, and while this cruise does not leave from BA, people fly into BA and are chartered to the ship in Ushuaia. Viking does offer an extension in BA, if you want to fly in early.
I have info on BA after having been there 3x, but because my information about the city was acquired from an ocean cruise and not an expedition cruise, the information got deleted because the information was not acquired on an expedition cruise. Seriously? They're asking about a private tour for a tango exhibition and dinner. If you are going to delete my comment on information about BA, you had better delete the OP's post asking about private tours in BA too. I just posted that it was not a little hypocritical that the question can remain, but my answer cannot only because the info I acquired was not through one of the expedition ships.

I initiate payments to be deducted from our company’s back account. I sent an email to a department so they’ll approve it coming out and that I’ll record the payment. In 6 years, I get asked everyone in a while if a payment is mine. All week, a new person has given me a list of transactions and asked me which ones are mine. He has access to the email to see which are mine. He does not need to ask me. Look at the f#cking list I sent. Everyone else has looked at the f#cking list.

Well hubs hasn't answered his cell in the last 2 hours. Maybe he has it off but I doubt it. I will call the room phone but don't think he can get to it easily. His cell doesn't work right 3/4's of the time. I think DD and I will get ready to go up. I am ready, just need to tell DD to get ready. I can't believe he hasn't been able to pass gas all this time, I hope his bowel isn't compromised in some way. But sometimes I think he gets anxious over something like that and can't, he has some other issues like that.
We just had tuna salad sandwiches so likely won't want to eat out. I put some raisins in mine, never tried that before, it was actually really good.
I have been at a loss today. Didn't really want to start anything since I expected a call at any time. When I get back guess I will start sorting receipts to match up with bank statements for the LLC. Last year for that thing.
I'm nervous about flying Alaska Air now. They are the only one flying nonstop from Indi to Seattle. That one pilot is likely one in a million. But he told the flight crew he has been suffering from depression for years. And that guy was flying planes and tried to stop the engines. Thankfully he was in a jump seat, what if he had been the pilot, well I think we know how that would have ended. Damn

So remember the friend that I was going to go out with so she didn't have to spend her birthday alone who ditched me when someone else became available? She texted me last weekend asking if our friend group had Halloween plans. We do have plans. However, I haven't opened her texts so, I haven't answered her. We're going out Saturday. I'll wait until Monday and invite her to my housewarming along with the group. I can be petty too.

I recently discovered the tv show "Struggle Meals". It is half an hour long and while I don't always agree with his math, he does offer basic meal ideas and tips to save money.

I know you have all heard my tales of the neighborhood crazies who propose a lot of weird ideas regarding our community association. Today one guy says all of those volunteering to run for the board of directors should have credit checks and police background checks. On the surface, not a bad idea, but both require a person's SS number which I'm not turning over to an ever-changing group of folks with little to no security of physical or digital records. What could possibly go wrong Last year they also demanded full financial statements from all candidates. Nope, y'all don't need to see the balances in my bank and investment accounts. They sure want a lot for their money - oh wait, we are unpaid volunteers!!!

Got groceries delivered and not very happy about how the raspberries arrived and the mold on a couple. The packages were put on their side so one was opening into the bag. Might also be why there are quite a few smooshed berries in the package with mold. Letting them air out, took a couple pics and will mail to whatever email address I can find for that grocery store. I prefer picking them out but I was worried they'd be gone before I had the time and physicality to get them. If I use my lunch hour I am lucky to have 10 to 15 minutes to eat lunch and walking on the way home and taking a later bus now can put me walking home in the dark. Some of the bags were very overloaded compared to usual. Wonder if the male drivers consolidate bags so they only make one trip? And again they claimed my cranberry juice was not in stock which I don't believe. Plan to call that store soon and find out if its in stock or not. Its not on sale and I just added it to the cart within the last 24 hours so it was on stock per the website. Sister store near me had it in stock by hauling 64 oz of liquid in addition to all my work crap not going to happen. At least I did get my batteries and Mucinex at lunch time. Sigh, Moonshadow is already complaining after finishing some of his just delivered romaine lettuce.

Not good, they have given hubs meds to try and help him. He said burping yes, but not the other. So after a day of this and night they are doing an ultrasound, sounds like something might have gone wrong. I sure hope not, but he said he has been walking and walking and nothing. This is not good. I'm hoping the bowel was not compromised somewhere.
He said the orders and everything are in, but I'm not sure if I can drive from out here at night. Been a long time since I have tried. Once I get to highway 41 I would be ok. I have a hard time seeing at night. Another reason we don't need to be living in the country and I will not be if alone. It's 7 and he has not be released so don't think he will be tonight.
That makes a vote for the over 55 modular or a place nearby in that area. I suppose our location is going to take care of itself by the time we are ready, though I hope its not due to hubs having some type of illness.

Drought all summer and we logged over 7 inches of rain at the airport last night from 5:30 to 11:30. To say all the running around I had to do during that was "unpleasant" is an understatement. It rained like crazy here yesterday too. Such a PITA. I had trouble just staying in the right lane on the highway last night. It was dark and when the headlights from the cars headed in the opposite direction reflected off the wet pavement I could hardly see the lines. I hate when that happens! The road I take to DD2s is terrible, in bad weather. Not only does it have curves, the lanes don't go straight through most of the intersections, so being able to see the lines is important! I'm glad made it home safely!

He has been up walking and said he overdid it a bit and still hasn't been able to. Our realtor said it is really hard to do a lot of times. She has had multiple surgeries and is due to have more. I have know her for years and hubs knew her from school. DD and I were going to go up but he said wait otherwise I might have to make 2 trips up, its at least 120 miles or more round trip. I hope its not after dark as I don't do well and he can't drive yet. I'm wondering if he thinks we are going to owe a bunch and we are not. He has met his deductible of $260 and that's it, so we are good. We may go up at 4 or 5 and eat dinner on the way home. Will wait and see what happens. I have to run to town later to get a few things from the grocer later anyway. Maybe you should pick up dinner for all 3 of you and eat it there, with him? I used to do that with my sister. And my daughters did it for me. Otherwise, I wouldn't have eaten, it was too bland.

We need rain here desperately. But I'm sure the farmers finishing up harvesting wouldn't agree. But haven't had enough rain for months.
My cats are having a ball. They have a silicon toe separator they love to play with. They throw it and catch it, than bat it all over the floor. They just spent some time trying to get in a cabinet. They pull the door open and it goes back shut. They have really been playing lately. Last night they both slept with me. Smokey cuddled up and Tigger in hubs bed.
