My parents will be married 49 years tomorrow. I'll be 49 in June. Do the math, I have. 🤣 P.S. I asked them years ago about it, and they admitted that they got pregnant on purpose so that their parents would allow them to marry. Dad was 18 but mom was 17, and both from horrible households. They've had a difficult road but are still best friends. ❤️ My parents ran it close. I was born in July, they married the previous October. I was a honeymoon baby, I think….but was ‘late’.

For some reason a few months ago our local newspaper started emailing me the obituaries every day. Not sure how to take that. I've never heard of that. Are you interested in them? If not, ask them to stop.

I slept 12 hours last night, could have slept more but hubs phone starting ringing and its in the bedroom.
The sun is shining brightly, I need to go to the trailer and clean the bathroom so hubs can turn the water off. He doesn't need anything like a leak popping up in the next few weeks he can't handle.
He is getting new tires for the boat trailer he bought and having them put on, so in the spring or early summer he can drive it up for son.
I hope today or tomorrow to wash down the front porch and wash the windows out there and across in the kitchen and garage. At least the front ones will be clean. It's 60 out so far.
Hubs got the painting done at the house we sold so hopefully they can get it reinspected and set up the closing. I can sign off on it by myself since its in the LLC.
Honestly, I could sit here and go back to sleep. I wonder what's going on with that?

finnime Today's photo is truly spectacular - thank you for letting us see this beauty through your eyes and lens. I'm glad your husband was finally able to schedule his procedure

We don't worry about it here, we don't even lock the house unless we are going on a trip. I do lock the doors at night, not out of fear, but just think its wise to do so. We leave the keys in everything here, cars, tractor, mowers, everything.
It's pretty safe here.
Also do the same in the neighborhood where our little mobile is in Washington. It's a nice area.

We ended up sleeping with the windows open last night. It was wonderful! The temps outside got down in the 50’s, idk what the temperature was in our bedroom, but it was just right, and comfortable. The white noise from the air purifier lulled Mister to sleep and he said he slept great and woke up feeling “lighter” this morning. It was worth it, just for that.

My boss asked if I could take on an extra account. I said ok and just got off the phone with the account manager I'm taking it from. Now I regret taking it because from what she described, they're going to be a huge problem. Great. It does seem as though the relationship with the AM and producer is not a good one, so they may not be as bad as she's describing. Wait until they experience me. Ha ha!

I look at the filth on our porches and know all that would blow in the house, if we could get a good rain here that would really help. I need to wash both porches down and clean the lawn furniture, and my grill. the other one is covered so ok.

Now that was... odd. They have been working on developing an earthquake warning app and, because I an an unapologetic nerd, I have downloaded that prototype app a while back. You are supposed to get a 10-15 second warning. Today for the first time that thing went off. So I grabbed my phone and went to the one "safe" place in my home (lots of glass in every room) and went to my safe place. Nothing happened, so I checked for earthquakes near me and sure enough: there was one right when the alarm went off. Not that big at 4.6 but I must live outside the wave area for that one. I felt a little silly sitting braced in my hallway through nothing - still the fact there was a quake means I need to heed these warnings, feeling silly or not...

I was sick the last few days, took Monday off. Came to work yesterday, and my IBS-d kicked up, which stressed me out more, I did not want to leave work as I had already taken Monday off. Today I am very nauseated, still have a bit of sneezing and drainage going on but not too bad, but my stomach is really upset. Since Pink has been posting about her GI issues and the relationship to Stress, I am wondering it it is just stress. Just working stresses me out. I often wonder if I should just stop working and keep up with my house and the business accounting. DH is really doing well...but we have 5 and 6 years until we are eligible for Medicare and DH does not feel really secure in his job. So, I keep coming to work every day.
I think I will at least try to get us a cleaning lady. DD is home on Thursday and Friday, so maybe I can get a cleaning lady on Thursdays when she is home. At least if they clean the main area of the house things would be a lot easier. I am often too tired to do much when I get home in the Evening. In the am, I get up about 6 am, walk the dogs, take a shower and feed the Rabbits before I drive to work. It takes about 40 minutes. In the evening, I leave work, go to MIL's pick up my dogs and drive home. That takes about 1 and a half hours, then I walk the dogs again for another 30 minutes and feed the Rabbits again. DH cooks dinner. I might watch and hour of TV before bed. Before I left for work this am, I also loaded the dishwasher. DH worked late last night, he got home at 8:30 ish. He is trying to capture an $8,000 production bonus. He pretty much has earned it already and he has 12 working days left (he works Saturdays). DH also laid a floor and painted at his office this week. He won 4 tickets to the Badgers vs. Indiana Hoosiers Nov 4th but told his Manager to give them to someone else as he has too much to get done before winter. I am not a big Football fan, so I don't really care - I would go...but he is right we have way too much maintenance to get done before the snow flies.
ETA. DD has accepted a different job (assuming she passes the background check), and she will go for training in January, then she is not sure where she will end up, so she is most likely only living with us until the end of the year.

In the “more damn sh!t to worry about category”: OB was not approved as POA for my mother’s brokerage account, since he is a resident of Europe so I get to do it Planning to basically sit on my butt and hope I don’t have to do anything for a long time… I got my first piece of junk mail about owning a property in FL so I guess that title transfer finally went through. Probably going to have to request a paper title; the FL default of electronic only title to Dad’s car caused no end of annoyance. On the bright side I went ahead and requested a checkbook for my own brokerage account, which arrived a couple days ago, so I should be ready for the property taxes and HOA fees. DS continues to develop a something resembling an actual social life, which has DH and I the terminal introverts wondering whether there was a mixup at the hospital

7 days in a row at my 2nd job is too much. There's also little things that drive me nuts with it. It's a shared inbox. A shared one! Not individual with 1 shared team box, just 1 big shared email for the owner, schedulers, trainers, etc. My brain doesn't work well with that. Biggest thing though is it's paying just under $600 a month. Which is nice, but it's not worth a lot of head space. A new scheduler is starting. I'm curious how many days she wants. I'm hoping 4 and I'll cut back to 3. And then we should have a back up person. So I won't ever volunteer to do this many days in a row again. That kind of effort for that level of remuneration seems rather unbalanced. I support the bolded.

Just found out one of my new producers is younger than my kids. I feel really old now. my moment for that was when I realized there were MLB players born in the 2000s. I graduated college in 2001. so, similar there. but we're only a few weeks from being the same age again. lol...

Glad Mister and you are getting good sleep, Pink Cashmere. That is so important to relieving stress. lurkyloo, I had to LOL at your astonishment at your DS. My DD is very extroverted; I am very much the opposite. When she was young I would have her use the phone to contact other people so I didn't need to. And she was always happy to answer the phone.

Just got back from the grocery store…..again. We are only eating out at SLAP each week, but can’t believe the amount of groceries we are going through. Today was mostly produce, and some of the ingredients I need to make this cake tomorrow. I still didn’t find a little recipe book I was looking for, but have an acceptable substitute.
My sister’s mediation yesterday went to shit. Her ex and his lawyer walked out halfway through. Apparently they may be on the hook for her payment for their requested mediation. It’s going back to a judge, for the THIRD time. The first 2 times, the judge ruled identically. She’ll have the same judge next time that she had the last time, and I’m thinking he’s not gonna like his last judgement being questioned. Her ex is now $18k in the hole to my sister.
I need this resolved and my house back.

He was ordered to pay it when she stepped out of the workforce 20 years ago. She was making more money than he, and both were earning $120k+/year. Since it was in a highly technical field, her stepping out allowed his income to soar while she managed to get a toe back in 4 years ago for $50k. Judge has ruled he owes her spousal support since her career to the hit to benefit his. He was ordered to pay, paid a few years then stopped. Another judge ordered the same and he refused to pay. He demanded mediation, and walked out of it. It’s going back to the last judge who ordered the support until his retirement. My sister’s income has gone up about 25%, but not near what it would have been.

I thought she’d look for some place south to move to, a lot cheaper (and redder) than the PNW and have a plan by the time we got back. She’s decided she likes it here and is trying to figure it out. To get into any sort of house is going to be a minimum of $500k, and she can’t do that. Nothing other than a house is acceptable.

I mean, I could, I can do my job from anywhere with a reliable internet connection. but I know I'm not the norm.

I finally got that bathroom cleaned at the trailer, it sparkles now. The one thing that turns my stomach is bathrooms of renters, pubic hair, just makes me cringe. I kept putting it off. Now hubs can use it if he has to stay there. The place is swept and vacuumed. Washed linens and curtains in the bedroom. Need to take the throw rugs back over. And I'm going to go take a bath, yuck, had rubber gloves on but still makes me sick.
Stopped at the neighbors and got more apples, nice big apples falling off the tree while there. I just picked them up off the ground. Came home and peeled one for hubs and one for me, just perfect.
I have some smoked salmon, I'm eating for dinner, dry smoked. It's 4 ozs 250 calories, may have a few crackers with it. For hubs and DD french fries and deep fried shrimp. May also have some cottage cheese with mine or some pickled beets I canned. Trying to get back on protein and not a ton of calories. No more donuts for maybe a month. I should add a salad to it.
Need to press some of our clothing, but need to take it to the basement to do so.

She works for a medical software testing company. During Covid, they all got sent home and it turned out that the company was more profitable with employees working from home. They let go of their lease in Minneapolis, and it’s all WFH. It doesn’t matter where she works from, as long as she is online during business hours. Since we are 2 hours earlier, she’s up and at her computer at 6 am. She’s done around 3 pm.
