So they called this morning to get information and give hubs info. Also set up blood work for lab for typing in case they need a transfusion? Then set up an appt for in the morning for him to talk to someone. Than we got another call for him to come in Friday to talk with the surgeon. I would hate to think what a problem this would be if he was still working. We already have all the pre op paperwork. I'm asking tomorrow what they found on the scan. Since his ins card was illegible when in town stopped and got copies of a new one. They gave me 2 and even laminated them. I have been trying to register on the site and now matter what I do it says the new password is wrong, they want 12 numbers and characters. I hate this stuff trying to set things up anymore. We probably registered somewhere. I need to dig the paperwork out. Hubs said he doesn't need to register, I need to find out if his coverage is transferable to Washington like mine is. Maybe I can just call for a general question like that and get the info. Yes, they always do this so that they know which blood to give if he needs it. Even though they will give him the same blood type he has, there are minor antigens in blood that can cause a reaction, and crossmatching blood tries to minimize this.

I'm basically taking the week off from substituting, mostly because no one I want to work for has asked me. A friend did ask me to work a day in November, my first so far. I played Rummikub with the other ladies at church today. We are all in the almost-70s to 90-something age group. We started talking about pap smears. My gyn said I could stop having them because they are caused by a sexually-transmitted virus, and I am not sexually active. I was mildly offended by that statement. I'm not, but who is she to decide that? Athena was older than I am, and she had a boyfriend. Anyway, one little old lady said, "Did you tell her that it was still pretty busy on your corner of the street?" I want to be that little old lady when I get to be 90-something.

I used to say if times got tough in retirement I could stand on the corner of walk and don't walk on a Saturday night. Problem is that I would have to give back change from a quarter most likely. I like your little old lady's sense of humor!

We had a good dinner. A very simple one. I bought 2 large baking potatoes and fixed those. Also picked up green onions, sour creme, bacon bits, the real ones, and shredded cheese. Normally I don't get all the toppings, but finally remembered this time. We ate every bite, sure was good for a change. DD and I split one, it was just the right size. Yummy!
I could make some brownies tonight but think I will skip it. DD and I can only eat so much or it makes us sick. I have found if I get a bit nauseous I can drink water and seems to make it go away.
We pretty much lose our taste for sweets and for meat too a lot of the time. Veggies seem to really fill the bill though.

Ah, it's autumn, when the leaves fall and the mailbox is stuff with Medicare enrollment literature and political flyers. I can't imagine how much heavier the mail carrier's bag is during October and November I got the email for open enrollment that starts 11/1, and I almost hit up my boss on Teams to ask if I should bother. 😝🤣

I got up at 5 am & took a Covid test. It was negative, so went back to sleep. Most likely my congestion & headache is from my Fall allergies, which really weren't bad the last few years, as I had been wearing a mask whenever I went out in public. I haven't worn a mask this Fall, so I feel like my allergies are kicking my a$$ right now, but I have a lot to get done the next few days, so I must power through. My allergies are kicking my butt too. I hope you feel better soon. While I don't have any seasonal allergies to speak of, just sneezing and coughing but not bad, I have been sneezing far more than usual this time of year. And Dirty Harriet* had the answer as to why: she is now a brownish white with a distinct yellow sheen. I can't remember ever having to use my windshield wipers prior to driving off in the fall * Dirty Harry is set in SF and boats/cars are female. I live in the Bay Area, my car is almost always dirty due to the severe drought we have had for years -> she is, very aptly I may say, named Dirty Harriet

Here's my mums, I watered and it rained a bit and I added some fertilizer. They are pretty now, the backside will fill in next year, they are smaller and likely squeeze out the weeds being so dense. I want easy care stuff now.
I'm not sure what to do with landscaping across the front of the house, being gone 2 months in the summer is making a mess. And hubs does everything else but has no interest in caring for that area. And it needs weeded again and now I need to cut back some hostas that are starting to die back.
Have to copy the link again, something not right.

I still top with broccoli and cheese. 🤤

Houston is one giant sneezing, coughing, nose-blowing mass of humanity right now. And we have strep, RSV, and Covid going around too so you don't know if the person in line at Aldi has something bad or just allergies.

I'm tired. I made sure not to sit down unless it was to do paperwork and I meticulously made sure to track my time.
Pretty sure I know who complained about me not taking an exact 30 minute lunch because today she was bitching about how she knew someone came in at exactly 9:10am.
Maybe they should get on her about productivity if she has the time to get that exact about someone else arriving at work.
Whatever. I made other mistakes today but I'm building up. It was about making a show of what an awesome worker bee I am today.
DH volunteered us to go to dinner with our neighbors and I am not happy about it. Then he gives me a lecture about cultural acceptance. Excuse me?
Then Abby had one of her more obnoxious friends over and accosted me about making muffins before I was half way in the house.
I had to turn around and take Gwen to dance because I had to make 100% sure not to leave till exactly 4:30 in case Nosey Nelly was watching which left me exactly 10 minutes to get Gwen to dance.
I worked both Saturday and Sunday night and dealt with several asshole customers.
I'm back to wanting to cry. I am so tired and frustrated.
May murder DH. I said he's not to accept dinner invites anymore and to explain we appreciate it but it doesn't work on weekdays. It's fine to have boundaries and I'm sure they will understand.

Crap! I have/had a recipe for a pineapple macadamia pound cake that was fantastic. You had to beat the crap out of it, so it was a pain in the ass to make. I can’t find the recipe for it now, and none I have seen online are it.
I offered to bring this for dinner Friday. Grrrrrrrr…….

No washer thingy is used by me -I just use the wipers for a quick dry swipe (yea I know I could Scratch the windows) but whatever, I need to be able to at least see out while driving. If I feel lime it and am up early enough I will take my car for an inside/outside cleaning. Then I just need to do a drive through in a few months and I'll be fine for the year

The day started out well. The pool is fixed, so I went swimming. I was feeling groovy. Then I called Simon. It's a mess. Jordan (who was tazed) is back home. He's no better, screaming and banging on the walls. Simon was sitting in his car, just to get away from Jordan. He's afraid of him. I figured people didn't see it.

I wanted to like the pool But awful about Jordan. Always thinking other countries somehow manage mental problems better than US. Guess not, so sorry Thinking mental hospitals would be best safest place for them and society. ODS is physician and he says do you want ‘us’ to have power to incarcerate anyone? What are limits? Guidelines?? All I know is it’s not working now

I just roasted some Delicata squash - a first for me. That stuff is very tasty and easier to prepare than acorn or butternut.

There is a large homeless population in our nearest large city, and most in the "tent city" are either homeless due to addiction issues, or mental health problems, or a bit of both. They just cleared out a property that was taken over by such a group. They try to get them help, but some don't want help, and the way the laws are written right now, you can't "force" them to go somewhere safe, even though Winter will be here soon. It's just sad.

I recently saw a post on FB where someone was asking what was causing all the horrible allergy issues lately, and many of the replies said ragweed. Then someone posted a picture of it, and it was literally what DS was pointing to when he asked me if I can identify stuff when we were walking on the trail a couple weeks ago. The answer to his question was and still is “no” lol.

I'm sure I have failed at times to not put more on my dad in terms of my grandma. I also never saw myself here either. I signed her out of the hospital, I signed her into hospice, signed that DNR, signed for the medicines, signed at the funeral home and to be the estate executor. I always thought this stuff would be on my dad.
I'm trying but I know I have failed at times.

And I'm sure you recognize your dad's grief.

Finishing Big Vape on Netflix. Crazy that we were down to 1% of high schoolers smoking and then vaping and JUUL blew up. Good documentary.

I signed nothing to take on debt for my mom or MIL, hubs didn't either. They either signed it or were noted incapable or we signed only as guardians. Did not make us liable for any debts. Be careful signing documents for sick relatives.
I'm going with hubs in the morning, he doesn't ask about things he should, though he is doing better. I think that is how his prostate test year before did not happen or he didn't get the results. He is stubborn about asking things, will say if they want me to know they will ask or tell me. He doesn't seem to realize doctors and such are human and forget things just like we do.
May go to bed soon as we need to be up at 6 or earlier in the morning to go.
When I get home, need to wash DD's hair before we get her teeth cleaned at 2PM so it will be clean and look nice.

I made a late run to the drug store and got one of their last boxes of Zyrtec. I hope it helps. The annoying part is, even 'tho it shouldn't affect blood pressure, it can make you sleepy. But I need to try SOMETHING. If it doesn't help me tonight, I noticed a lot of Allegra on the shelf. I grabbed the Zyrtec, because I figured if they're running out of it, it must work.
