I'm home and unwinding, have been for a couple hours now. I'll catch up on today when I come online tomorrow. the pups are both out cold after spending the day with Nana.
clearly, I survived today. 🥳 I took 1 of the lorazepam a couple hours prior to the appointment, and was then surprised with getting the regular cleaning first. so, I took the other dose when I sat down in the chair, to last me through the 2nd half. cleaning went well, except I was a chatterbug all the way through. 🤦♀️
move to the other room, the one where I had my.wisdom teeth removed. I got the numbing jelly and a novocaine shot, and then a 2nd when Dr started drilling out the old filling and I sat straight up in my seat. wait about 15min and she comes back to drill out the rest of the filling in the rear tooth. (this pair of fillings are on the shares space between adjacent molars) and now everything is going well. Dr goes to start on 2nd old filling, and has to stop to peel me off the ceiling. novocaine #3 and another 5min wait. she gets it most of the way out, and then all I can guess to describe is that the drill slipped and went straight into good tooth instead of old filling and I dropped the phone in my lap that had been playing XM, sat straight up, and whipped off the dark sunglasses like WTF was that?? cue shot #4 and another 10min. throughout the visit, I was apologizing profusely, and feeling like a complete asshole. but they all kept reassuring me that there are worse clients for stuff like this. idk if I believe them. 🤦♀️
Anyway, I'm home and unwinding. dinner was a reheated store-bought mac and cheese "side dish' from the deli. 400 calories? that's a soft slurpy entree after dental work. 👍 I don't want to have to repeat today any time soon, buy i do have another pair of fillings directly opposite today's target, and they are there for the same reason that is no longer a thing since I completed Invisalign 🤞🤞

I still hate having a mortgage. It's much less irritating since I refinanced in 2020 and the payment went from $1300 to $400, but it still bothers me and I still pay extra on it every single month even though it's at 2.6%. Not a lot, but enough that it takes it from a 30 year loan to an 18 and will be paid off when I'm 69. I have a sneaking suspicion I will not let it go that long and without a doubt if I inherit from any of my parents before then I'll funnel money that way. I am pretty that everyone here knew that when you when you refinanced you were never going to keep the mortgage that long. Still, you are worried about paying off low interest debt - IIRC one that helped you maximize retirement savings and tax savings. My DH is the same way - any debt is bad. But that is not always true. I wouldn't say I'm WORRIED about paying it off. I just 100% know I'd be more content with it gone. I also don't think all debt is "bad", but I don't think being not bad makes it "good" either.

I'm a mess. Starting our return to the winter house, I have a head cold that I got to fly with. Stuffy hoarse sounding. I can't speak loud enough in a store for my H. to hear me. I'd been wearing a mask in public places. Napped twice today which helped. Oddly, my pulse rate jumps and my nose starts to bleed. Then I have liquid snot draining from the other side. I removed tissue tampons on each nostril. One step better. I've had chest congestion. Most of the hectic work getting the house ready to live in has fallen on my H. Adding to this fun, the battery on our car died while at the grocery store. Neighbors (both disabled) had invited us to the local restaurant. Needed to be there by 5. We got the jump and threw the refrigerator items in the fridge. We rush to the restaurant 30 minutes late. Oddly, the place was almost vacant. Our friends eating club sandwiches. We are told the restaurant was closed at 5:00 today. Zero notice. No sign on the door. Accommodating me I was offered a house salad and my H. ate half of our lady friend's sandwich. She's a small eater. That worked out. More oddity. I get daily emails of cocktail photos. How come there wasn't a notice on the restaurant being closed.
Everyone is frustrated with the restaurant because of it's shifting hours. The posted hours for food at 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The good, our water is turned on. The heat/air is working. The beds are soft and comfy. The refrigerator is stocked.

Got the JCP gift guide.
So disappointing when you grew up with the JCP holiday catalog. That thing was so thick and heavy if dropped it could break your foot.
Loved looking through it and circling stuff.
Christmas ads today just aren't the same.😪

So last week in the area a landlord was trying to evict a tenant from one of his rentals and having no luck so the sheriff was sent out to serve them. When they got there the guy that came to the door told them to call the coroner. His wife had died in the house SIX WEEKS earlier and he hadn't contacted anyone because he was afraid when the authorities showed up they would take his cats and dogs. Well, they did...because he had SEVENTY ONE of them in the trailer. 50 some cats and the rest dogs. The house was so horrible smelling that they had to go in with hazmat suits and oxygen masks. He didn't have anything to feed them and a couple were found dead in the trailer. I was dropping stuff off at the shelter (one of several they needed to take them all in) and it amazes me how much litter and food and other supplies they have piled up to take care of these critters and to think they had NOTHING before and they were all in such a small area. How horrible it had to be for them, he should have just left the front door open so they could leave and fend for themselves. But, he "loved" them so much he couldn't stand the thought of even having his wife's rotting corpse removed from the bathroom floor. Anyhow, that's when I bumped into Butters. (he was not from the dead woman house, those animals are not nearly as healthy looking)

I'm sorry that his wife passed in such conditions. Have you picked up Butters yet?

Have you picked up Butters yet? No. I'm kind of afraid it would make my oldest sad. He's a cat fanatic and misses our two horribly. Getting a kitten seems like it would just make him more homesick (not that he is, but I know he really wishes he could have a cat). He's talking about getting a python, so maybe that will satisfy the pet urge...just not real cuddly.

Tree man just left. $2,200 to trim all the trees but they're salvageable. He said they might be able to start today. Ugh! Love the new house, but hate all the money spent on getting things squared away. It needs to be done though. One of the trees makes me nervous. It looks dangerous and I don't want anyone getting hurt from a falling limb. It's a big tree. Tree man didn't come back today. Hopefully tomorrow is a possibility since we're supposed to get some pretty bad storms and likely be under tornado warning.
