I see former president Trump is saying they will Shoot Shoplifters as they leave the store if he becomes President again. So yeah we will be throwing out the constitution then. You would no longer have a right to a trial before a jury of your peers. If the sentence for shoplifting is Death, what about embezzlement or Rape? It’s ok if he does it. He’s spechul.

Heartbroken.
My old undergraduate advisor died this morning. Other than the fact that this man was a tremendous teacher, he was a concentration camp survivor from Auchwitz (complete with his number tattooed on his forearm). The outpouring from his students on Facebook is incredible, the man touched so many lives and inspired so many careers.
He will be missed.

Holy shit! When are you moving andi9899 ? You need to be out of there like yesterday.! Girl! That happens all the time. It'll probably happen again before I move out next weekend. Well, at 71 yo (for about one more week) I have experienced this exactly zero times. And I hope it stays that way until my "planned" departure date at 100. You better stay safe. We need you here

The wifi keeps dropping the posts I'm trying to do from my phone. Yet I'm on it posting from here?? I even turned the TV off. We are supposed to have a strong signal so I don't understand. It is so frustrating living out here with electronics at times, damn. I even tried posting without pictures and wouldn't post, just sits there and churns. That is annoying. My service wasn't working earlier in the week. My box needed to be replaced. I hope you are able to get yours working soon.

I’ve been sick since Monday morning, but I still worked all week. I’d just get home and lay in the couch until bedtime. I took a COVID test on Tuesday, but it wasn’t that. Just a wicked cold. I’ve gone through a Costco version of box of day and night NyQuil. I’m definitely feeling better today. Yesterday was pumpkin patch day with DS1 and Miss Grandbaby. Today is golfing with DD2 and her boyfriend. Glad you're feeling a little better and got to go to the pumpkin patch. Have a good time golfing.

I'm really trying hard to come up with something for DH's birthday. He doesn't want anything. He doesn't need anything. He is so damn hard to shop for. Then rinse and repeat for Christmas. I can usually come up with something useful, which is what he prefers, but I'm just coming up blank this year.

I gave those last Christmas, to my hard to buy for people and they were very well received. Even by the people who could afford to buy their own. Good luck!

I just cut up all but 6 of the freebie onions I got last week for French onion soup tonight. They are now caramelizing in the oven per Cook’s Illustrated. I think the soup is going to have a ton more onions in it than usual as I started it on the stovetop and they were cooking down as I was cutting up the onions and tossing them into the pot.
We did a fast run to Vancouver last night to see TD’s mom. She fell and has a compression fracture of L2-3. TD’s sister is there for the next couple of weeks to help her out, but imagine we will be going up again soon. She’s in a lot of pain and is having a hard time moving.

I finally got in gear today, but not done yet.
All the house is mopped but our bedroom and bath, will do those before I quit. Cleaned the kitty food trays and their litter boxes, so there room is clean.
I was just going to mop in DD's room but the floor was cluttered and her closet. We got to talking and she decided time for a bunch to go. I didn't get on the shelves but we cleared almost everything out of her closet and floor, 4 30 gallon trash bags and a sack. Most is new dolls and things in boxes, never opened. So I asked if a church in the community or next community was having a Christmas party and could use these items, they are all dolls or toys and for the most part for girls. My car is loaded down. So that slowed me down but does her room look nice.
I had to stop and fix dinner, that's done, so will clean the table and than finish mopping. I threw the shower drain mat in the washer and washed it with a load of towels. It is now squeaky clean. I will scrub down the shower when I take a shower tonight. I also have to wash DD's hair and trim her nails, she has a dental appointment in the morning. Her hair is awful, will be cut this week.
After that I can finally sit down.
I also started pulling part bottles and cans of stuff out of the garage. If they are fairly full I will put them in boxes by the road for freebies if about gone will pitch them. Have gotten more stuff to go out there but can't do it till tomorrow evening and will put a free sign up. I want this place decluttered and clean.
If noone wants to buy any of my nice clothing I will donate it to one church that is taking stuff to the mountain areas. I don't give to Goodwill any more until I just have too. I don't like them paying the disabled nothing, while the execs pull down big bucks. That makes me angry.
Ok back at it.

I'm not a big meat eater, so I've never tried their meat, personally. But people did like receiving it as gifts. I liked that you can pick different types of meat and price ranges. Any way, I hope you find something he likes.

Gorgeous, gorgeous weekend We wound up pumpkin picking on Sat, and watching DS adorably and very seriously compare all the pumpkins to be sure we were getting The Biggest made me reflect on how boring our lives are going to be when he leaves the nest He can be quite a pain, but he’s also super sweet and absolutely hysterical a lot of the time. The pumpkin’s name is Robert, in case anyone wondered

My mom just called to tell me my dad is in the hospital again. He went out to mow the lawn this afternoon (why he doesn’t hire it out is beyond me) but didn’t even get started. He sat down in his lawn chair, told my mom to bring out the blood pressure cuff bc he felt dizzy, and when his BP was super low, mom called 911. They admitted him, are running blood work, and he’ll see his doc in the morning. My mom said this time they are concerned about his kidneys.
Im doing nothing other than offering support from afar. My dad has quite a few health problems that have been held in check for a long time. I’m afraid they are all catching up with him now. But for right now, there’s nothing more I can do, so I’m just waiting to hear more tomorrow.

Because my maturity level is that of a 10 yo I brought home the head from the pinata from my family reunion yesterday. It is now in T2's bed with her. I have already sent a picture of the two of them to T1. Was the head full of candy? Because it always seems to be repurposed to hold someone’s loot at our parties.

I mowed everything today for the first time since August! That's how dry it's been here. It was hotter than hell too, so I kept coming in to take Diet Pepsi/TV breaks...which drug out 3 hours of mowing to more like 6, and I think I drank like a 6 cans too..but whatever. It looks good and probably won't need to get done again this year. Tomorrow is my last day of doing chores at my friend's horse barn, so I can go back to sleeping in again after that.

Apparently, when I was knitting during my hip surgeries, I found half a scarf that I had started. I can see where I really screwed up throughout it, so frogged the whole thing. There was nothing I could do, and my cables were gorgeous……the ones I hadn’t screwed up. I have no idea where I got the pattern from.
I started rolling up the yard after I ripped it out, only to find a tangled mess at the other end. Apparently, I tried to knit directly from a hank of yarn and that didn’t work well. I have several hanks of this yarn, and it’s a very pretty dark jade green. This will be perfect for my niece, if I can ever get it untangled!

Imma vent and be a little gossipy at the same time.
There are 3 of us that work in my area, and trouble is brewing because the male coworker is working my nerves.
He has been a whiny lil youknowwhat, for as long as I’ve known him. And he’d rather stand around and talk for hours, instead of working. To me, that is a management problem when an employee can get away with that, and until a few years ago, he and I never even worked the same shift, I got to know his work habits because he worked a lot of OT.
Off and on over the years, he’s gone through spells where he couldn’t even be bothered to speak to me, like most of us speak to each other. I never knew why, but no problem. But him going sideways is a problem now, because we work the same shift, in the same area, and not only is he having another one of those spells now, I am pretty sure that he has been running to one of our bosses, telling lies about me not doing what I’m supposed to be doing at work.
Idk what his problem is with me, I haven’t even been at work enough to start beef with anyone. And if my attendance is his beef with me, he can do some profane things that I shouldn’t spell out here, and mind his own business, not mine. He has some serious health issues, including having dealt with cancer, which I expressed how happy I was for him when he had his last treatment last year, when it was getting close, and after it happened. Due to his health issues, his Doctor has been telling him for at least a year, that he needs to stop working. He has plenty of money and is eligible to retire, but for whatever reason, he doesn’t want to stop working. And until they cut out OT earlier this year in my facility, he still worked OT.
So maybe he feels like if he has done all that despite his health issues, I shouldn’t miss as much work as I have, due to whatever is going on with me. Which none of my coworkers know what I’ve been dealing with, because it’s none of their business. Idk if that’s behind his current beef with me, I’m just trying to guess a reason. We’ve never had a run in the other times he stopped speaking to me, he’s just moody like that, I guess.
But also, his wife of over 20 years, started acting crazy some time last year, and pretty much bailed on the marriage even though she continued living in the house. She wouldn’t have anything to do with him, and might or might not come home, and would disappear for days, going “out of town” with “her friends”. Ummmm…. Yeah, that’s what she was doing, for sure. He paid all of the bills. She works and did whatever she wanted with her money. Then she started acting a little funny. Then she went out and bought a new car without talking to him about it, and got mad because he wouldn’t agree to pay the payments on it. So mad that she moved out of the bedroom, and started doing the other stuff I mentioned.
So knowing all of that about him, his latest bullshit, whatever his problem with me is, I don’t think it’s even really about me. But I’ve always felt very strongly about people not taking shit out on me, that has nothing to do with me. And I really don’t care about him not being friendly toward me again, because I go to work to make money, not friends. I don’t even care about him not pulling his weight with getting the job done in our area, a job he recently CHOSE to bid on. But I do care about him lying to this manager to get out of work and/or try to make me have even more work to do (how all of that works is complicated to explain). And I do have a problem with that particular manager going along with his BS and not following the rules, since the only thing an employee working my kind of job has, in a lot of ways that matter, is seniority, and this manager keeps breaking rules regarding the fact that I have more seniority than this whiny little girl.
I’ve always tried to keep a low profile, at work, and even IRL lol. At work, I just try to get the job done, and that is more important to me than quibbling over the rules or “pulling rank” even when it’s justified. I really just want to do the work required of me, so I can get paid, and take my ass back home. That’s it! Most of the time.
But I am already having issues with the supervisors on the next shift pretending they don’t know the rules, now that my hours have changed and my shift overlaps with theirs by some hours. I very politely remind them of the rules, to let them know that I know the rules, and that I am the last person they can run here and there…. because of my seniority, so that when I get tired of them playing with me, they can’t pretend ignorance. In the meantime, I still do what they ask me to do, even if they are out of order.
But my male coworker…. I’m just about sick of him and his games. I don’t care if he doesn’t work. I’m not gon bust my ass to make up for what he doesn’t do, so to me, that’s management’s problem. I don’t care if he’s having a spell where he won’t even speak to me, because like I said before, I go to work to make money, not friends. I can go a whole shift and not talk to ANYBODY, but I am at least cordial. But I do care about him whining to this manager to get out of working the job he bid on, and I REALLY care about him lying on me, and I do care about this particular manager indulging his BS, and not doing things correctly and making my workday more difficult, while my coworker chills.
So today, other people noticed what was going on, and I admit, I referred to him as a “little girl”, because that is what I feel he is acting like….. an emotional, preteen/early teenage girl. I don’t care if it gets back to him that I said that. I’ll say that again, to him, if he confronts me, because I don’t say stuff behind people’s back that I’m not willing to say to their face. As long as I don’t threaten him in any way, I can say to his face that he acts like a little girl. And if I really want to be ugly, because he put his business out there, I can tell him that the fact that he acts like a whiny little girl is probably why his wife decided she didn’t want him anymore. And while that would certainly offend him, and I really think his wife is just a bitch that had it good with a devoted (crybaby ass) husband, and started cheating on him anyway and got caught up, it won’t jeopardize my job. So just leave me tf alone, when I’m not bothering you, and don’t play with me.
Just a rant, and I am grateful for having a place to do so, outside of my job.

I got it all done, DD's hair washed and dried, nails trimmed. Her toenails are so tiny I think I need baby clippers, I nipped a piece of skin and with blood thinner poor baby bled all over. I have done it before and I feel so bad. She has nail fungus really bad on one big toe, I trimmed the dead nail off as best I could. But I washed all our trimmers and file, don't want to spread it. And I brushed her teeth, gave her, her night pills, so she is ready for bed.
Smoke didn't want to go in his room, he was chasing a fly and knocked the container over with all my LLC receipts off in it, sigh. Then he tried to help trim nails and got in the way, DD thought it was so funny. Finally he went to the door of his room and reached for the door knob to be let in. He doesn't want to go in when Tig does but isn't long before he does too. Hubs really trained them while I was gone. He is very consistent unlike me. If it was up to me I wouldn't even put them in there, but I have to admit we sleep better without them bugging us. He lets them out early and feeds them and they both climb into bed with me and go back to sleep.
And a last load of clothes washing and one drying. So am I really done?
