My Covid seems to be worse today. I hope it's a blip in recovery. I have a fever again and the coughing is worse. I have a feeling today will end up being wasted. I hope you get relief soon.

chiver78 , all of the boarding upgrades I have done (or looked into) were always $30 for each leg. I took those same flights in late July and that was the fee then.

Sounds like you booked the wanna get away plus. The flight credit is transferable but not refundable. The $30-80 fee is to upgrade to A1-A15 boarding if you don't like your boarding position. It can only be done once the 24 hour check in window opens. So if you check in and don't like the boarding spot you get, you can then pay to upgrade to those A spots.
I've only seen upgraded boarding sell out once and that was at MCO in May 2022. Flights get delayed often there for weather, military flights and a lack of sufficient air traffic controllers at Jacksonville ATC. We bought it at the gate counter 90 minutes before the flight and got A13-15.
The max price of upgraded boarding went up mid May so it's likely to be $30 as daisy experienced. Southwest says it can vary based on flight length and demand.

Alternating between heat and ice on the leg, taking extra C, zinc and magnesium, and drinking green tea. It is getting better, though sleep was somewhat elusive last night, trying to find a comfortable position.

I don’t fly southwest much anymore, bc United is more prolific at my home airport and with work paying it makes more sense to take that. Anyway, when I do fly southwest, I always pay the fee for early bird check in where they automatically check me in at whatever time they do that (24 hours in advance? 36? I can’t remember). Anyway, it’s almost always worth the fee so I don’t have to be sitting on my phone right at the 24 hour mark to check myself in.
I’m currently at the airport, waiting on my United flight. Just finished sipping on a mimosa, and about to make my way to gate. It’s CRAZY here today. I forgot how bad mondays are at this airport.

Moved my grandma's cedar chest into the bedroom. It now holds all my winter shoes. It was a pain for DH to get it out of the basement but I couldn't leave it. Those used to be handed down and the idea of leaving it to be tossed in a dumpster broke my heart. I will have to leave the steamer trunks behind most likely I have no where to keep them which is unfortunate. Unless....I could try to convince DH that two steamer trunks is less space than multiple totes either for winter clothes or my Christmas crap. Hmmm.... I vote storage of Christmas stuff. Nope. Christmas stuff isn't attacked by moths.

My left knee wasn’t the only casualty of yesterday’s fall. Apparently I hit my left hip and shoulder too. Damn……hardwood floors hurt when you fall on them!
Soooo stiff today.

Seems like all my DH needed was a good nights sleep. He basically slept round the clock and he woke up raring to go this morning. Thank goodness. He missed dinner last night so he’s eating everything he can his hands on this morning, which is probably good for him. But really, I’m very grateful. Given all my family’s health issues this year, I’m grateful this was just a blip for DH. So glad he’s feeling better!

I'm working on digesting lunch and digesting the fact that all the moms I saw at lunch today looked the same (down to the same blond hair dye job on the same length hair, parted the same way. I wish I were kidding).
I've started casually talking to DH about being done when the peanut gets through 8th grade. Usually it's when the Bishop does something questionable, and we hold our breaths about how that gets funneled down to the kids. So far, it's been fine. And the church is not what it was 15 years ago, and I am not the same person I was 15 years ago. I know when we leave there will be someone else there just to fill our spot. And I'm still not inclined to keep spending money in an area that I increasingly don''t agree with/

I am running on fumes today. My stomach woke me up around 1am, and I didn’t go back to sleep until after 7am. Saturday I sprayed our shower down to clean it, and I had to go lay down because I got that weird feeling I use to get when I’d feel like I had a fever, and achy, but my temperature would be normal. I haven’t felt that in a long time, it’s awful. I’ve been feeling it off and on since then.
I spent a lot of time and money going to doctors back when it was happening regularly, and never did get any answers about what was causing it. I started thinking it was a reaction to certain chemicals or something, but nobody believed me. So, needless to say, I didn’t finish cleaning the shower Saturday. I rinsed it down and left it alone. I’ve used that same stuff before, and didn’t have a problem, so idk what that was about.
Mister told me yesterday that he called his brother and told him he was handing everything concerning his Dad’s estate over to him. He’d made a spreadsheet of his Dad’s bills and accounts, and how much the bills were, and sent it to his brother. He said his brother was shocked at how much it cost to pay the household bills and for the car. How, when Mister had been telling him all along?
He tried to slide it in the conversation that he’d get a checking account (whyyyyy does he not have one?) and give Mister the account info so Mister can pay the bills. Mister said no, you’re on your own, I’m trying to clear up some headspace, I’m not dealing with anything over there. I told Mister his brother’s wife must have paid all the bills when they were married, because Brother does not seem to know how to function as an adult. I knew he was “different”, in the way that very creative or geeky people can be different, and when he had money, it was like a buffer that kept him from having to live in the real world, but good grief.
Anyway, I told Mister I felt like he was doing the best thing for himself, giving it all to his brother for him to deal with. Mister has been holding everything together for over a year now, which his brother benefitted from, and it was very stressful for Mister to basically have to take over his Dad’s whole life, so it’s okay for his brother to have his turn now. Especially since it’s his brother that actually needs the house if it can be kept, for him to have somewhere to live, and because of his business space in the back. And since both parents are gone now, Mister doesn’t have to try to protect them or look out for them. The only person that will suffer if his brother doesn’t do what needs to be done and screws everything up, is his brother.
His brother tried the excuse again that everything is just so hard because he is grieving, Mister said it was hard on him to handle his parents business this whole time, but he did it. And Brother is just going to have to do it, and grieve later or something.
I am proud of him for sticking to his guns during the conversation, I just hope his resolve holds, because I know that’s not the end of it. His brother is going to try to rope him back in and get him to concern himself with all of it again. I’m willing to bet money on that. But since Mister didn’t make the decision out of anger or frustration, or on the spur of the moment, I think he may be done for real, and just ready to free himself and try to move on.

I'm probably just going to pull the trigger and do it....and then go back to JetBlue for the same reason you're flying United today. my go-to back in the day was US Airways. it was linked to United domestically, and a bunch of international airlines I would fly for work. so I'd earn the miles from EU work travel, and cash them in on US Airways for vacations. and then AA bought them, and my system blew up on me.

chiver78, every time I’ve debated myself about paying for early check in on southwest. I end up doing it anyway. So if nothing else, doing it immediately is saving me anxiety and headspace, lol. Worth the money for that alone! all this talk of airlines seems to have jinxed me. I now have a THREE HOUR delay to my flight today. Oy.

That's great news, Pink Cashmere! That Mister is turning over the management of his father's estate to the person who should be dealing with it, and getting himself out. Yay!

Got the Costco order including the organic milk. It's dated Novermber 29! I've been surfing for kitchen cabinet knobs and drawer pulls for the kitchen and for my bureau. The pulls I think I've got figured out: drawer pullsFor the knobs I was just looking around and saw these: cabinet knobs which strike me as just perfect for my home with an underlying beach-y theme. What do you think?

I swear to God if I have to hear about Travis Kelce one more time today! for real lol....I hate hearing about the Chiefs so much. Dolphins, too. (check their final score yesterday, if anyone missed it...) now I'll add another name you're probably sick of hearing lol... Bill Belichick cracked a joke during his weekly radio spot to say "I would say, Travis Kelce has had a lot of big catches in his career. This would be the biggest."

Good for Mister. Pink give him the phrase "Weaponized incompetence" and have him bring that up with his therapist. I think he will find that conversation very enlightening and the therapist can help him with coping techniques to avoid rushing in to play the savior as he has been conditioned to do.
Because you are absolutely right that this is not the end and it's quite possibly his brother will sabotage himself on purpose hoping Mister will ride in. It always escalates when you finally assert your boundaries to someone who is used to you being a doormat.
Mister deserves to be free and live his own life. His family showed EXACTLY who they are. He doesn't owe them the time of day anymore let alone what they continue to expect of him.

Pink Cashmere Like my friend said, her dad may not be in a rehab center with both sides paralyzed, not able to use either hand, etc. if he had taken those medications instead of playing games with them and hiding them. She was shocked when she found the pills on the floor. I can imagine that she was shocked when she found the pills. But it’s not much different from how Mr. Messy use to get mad at Mister for trying to make him take the prescribed meds for his heart condition, the blood clot in his lungs, and his high blood pressure. Never mind the meds for diabetes, and Mister trying to feed him heart healthy foods and food that wouldn’t make his diabetes worse. And it didn’t matter at all when Mister would tell Mr. Messy that it was not fair to him for Mr. Messy to not take the meds and risk ending up in even worse shape, with even more serious health issues that he assumed Mister would take care of him with. Mr. Messy didn’t care. He didn’t want to take his meds and he wanted to eat whatever he wanted to eat, period. And regardless of the consequences. And even if that meant an immediate consequence was that he shit on himself and made a mess for Mister to clean up. I hope and pray that I am not EVER that selfish and uncaring with my own children. I am not saying your friend’s Dad is totally like Mr. Messy either, I’m just saying that there are similarities in them not taking their meds properly and there being consequences due to that. This is my grandma. She does what she wants and lets others deal with the fallout. She's diabetic, but her diet mainly consists of sweets. She just takes a hit of her insulin and eats whatever she wants. She takes her pills and goes to her doctor's appointments, but she still does mostly what she wants. She's also lactose intolerant but has a milkshake every day and then someone else can clean the shit. Same with refusing to sell her house. She just lets her kids take turns staying the night with her instead of moving in with one of them. She has two of them ready to move her in at any time, but she won't do it.

I swear to God if I have to hear about Travis Kelce one more time today! She's an Eagles. Fan it's all a long con/elaborate revenge plot. 🤣 Am I supposed to understand these posts? I have no clue what the two are talking about. Due to the Eagles reference I suspect it is football related so I don't care to enlighten myself. Just let me know if I am wrong in which case I will call on Google to help me out

Clicking notifications one by one to delete. Over 2,000 of them. Why is there no way to mass delete? on this forum? just keep hitting "see more" or whatever at the bottom, to keep loading more. as soon as they appear on that screen, they are "read" whether you click them or not.
