DS had his yearly physical this morning. We always have him fast just in case they want bloodwork, because they don't do it every year. Well, they did it this morning, and DS was NOT happy, so I took him to McDonald's afterwards as a reward for surviving. So, blood in exchange for a sausage biscuit & hash browns.

Well good news and bad news. The PO guy called and I sold him the post office. Now we will start on the information to do so. They close at their own title company and that is fine. So we are getting $55,000 out of something I paid $16000 for and had income for 4 or 5 years. So that is done. I will put pencil to paper and see if we can afford to sell the other house too.
That money will build sons garage without us taking out of savings plus we can cover with gifting to each of them. They are very happy and we are too. It's something we will temporarily use and they will have. Son needs to replace his patio, so said it will be a good time to do that too. They had to tear out part of it to get to the septic!! He said why did they do that? So that won't be covered any longer.
Ok, my dear hubs. He had cancer show up in all the biopsies 8 of them I believe. They gave us options of surgery or radiation. Hubs said what if I do nothing. They said it is a 7 out of 10 now, moderate but if he does nothing will go into his bones. Still in 2 weeks they are doing a bone scan and go from there. They have to get approval from the insurance company. They said this will be a robotic surgery, I've not heard of that before. Knowing hubs if it has gone into his bones he will do nothing. The problem he has with either of the other procedures there is a 30% chance of incontinence, he is not pleased with that. I think he is only doing something because I want him too, I don't want to lose him, at least not yet.
But we are both happy that till now we have never had really serious illnesses and ongoing like so many people have and do. So we will deal with this. As he told the PA, we all die sometime. We both realize that life is for a finite time.
What we wonder is how it got so bad. He had blood work the year before and said at his age should have done a PSA, neither of us remembers if they did. If so it got this bad in a year?? Doesn't seem logical.

JFC I was going to strangle a co-worker I am so happy she left early for the day.
She is one of those people that never stops complaining and is always way more focused on everything and everyone else than she should be.
I'm sorry we went paperless but if you spent half the time you do bitching about it actually learning how to access the online copy you wouldn't have half the problems you do.
Same with your workload. Take the time you spend following all of us around complaining and put that towards your workload and you'd be WAY less stressed!
Ugh. Apparently it is illegal to dose someone's coffee with Xanax without their consent so I have to settle for hiding in the bathroom until she is away from her desk. She sits right next to me. I've considered asking to move but my desk is really in an ideal position for my job. I could argue to move her but nobody else wants to sit next to her either.
Most of the time I can employ the techniques I used to ignore MIL while having one ear open enough I don't accidentally agree to do something. But this week I am really busy too and I have next to no brain space to deal with her complaining.

I have an air fryer similar to the one chiver posted that M and mooch have. We like it and use regularly. The new stove has an air fry feature on the oven but I haven't tested it. I didn't necessarily need or want that feature. To get the griddle for the center burner, I had to go with that one. The price difference was minimal compared to the griddle cost.
DH wants to go to Las Vegas next year to see George Strait. We went to Nashville this year and the show got cut way short by rain. We spent a fair chunk of money to go. It sucks to spend that kind of money and not get what you paid for at all. It was on our anniversary though. I did enjoy going back to Nashville. I think the stadium in Las Vegas is a dome. We could go to Charlotte but meh.
I saw George Strait with my brother in Las Vegas in 2017. I had presale and and still got 200 level. After Kasey Musgraves played a lady came upstairs with tickets. I don't know if they were comps casinos didn't give out or what. Anyway we ended up 1 row off the floor right in front of George. My brother's whole trip was made.

Good morning, Off Topic and off the wall invisipeeps of Y Ma'am, keeping my laptop engrossing. I hope your Friday bears good news and good health for you and yours. Several people have asked if Lee is going to impact me. And it will, but not in a dangerous way. We'll have high winds and some driven rain, possibly with some tree damage and some areas may have electrical outages, but over all it should be a lesser tropical storm. The storm surge will not hurt us, as we are on the south side and the surge and storm are coming from the north. I may get out there and take some pictures of the surf in the aftermath. Also, I love someone named Lee, so this storm makes me smile whenever it gets mentioned. I truly hope you are feeling better now, Pink Cashmere and TheOtherMe . Since DD is now going to be moving on the 1st we have work to do, organizing this move across the lawn. I'll hire some muscle. The weather yesterday was brilliant. I got this shot of a fishing boat, Maria, coming in as the sun sets. yes, the forecaster just now said that Lee will pass MA as a Category 1 hurricane, and that the worst surges will hit Cape Cod Bay (north of the Cape, for those not from around here) and north of the islands. I'm far enough inland from that side that I should be okay, too. but I'm going to load up the shed with things that could become airborne in strong winds. it's already cooler and breezier this morning than yesterday, and it feels like something is coming. also - I'm not sure who exactly, but a car with The Weather Channel logo on it has been spotted down in Chatham. We were in Nova Scotia in June and saw the results of the hurricane that last hit them last Sept. The destruction was incredible, and this was 9 months after. There were still houses with roofs gone. I don’t think they are ready for a second direct hit.

countrygirl praying treatment is effective and not difficult for your hubby. Maybe get second opinion at a major teaching medical center - in Washington?
ODS always wants us to ‘stop screwing around with podunc docs and hospital’. Go to big medical teaching centers with most up to date info and procedures

I'm sorry that you and he didn't receive the news that you wanted. My FIL was diagnosed with prostate cancer about 18-20 years ago. He elected to get his prostate removed and I can't recall if there was radiation or anything. He does have incontinence. From what I can tell, he just deals with it.

We went to the best hospital system here. It's considered a good one. DD and I go there for most major things we deal with. They are using a robotic method to do the surgery. They want to give him 2 weeks to decide but he already has. We are comfortable with them.
We are ok, Hubs and I are very practical people and consider it just part of life. I'm just happy he is going to do something. Also son has more trouble up there getting into docs than here. And I'm not sure our insurance would work up there either.
The other issue is noone to care for DD if we went to Indi. I'm not planning on dumping things on son and DIL. They will have enough one day.

A guy who graduated a year ahead of me was heavily involved in robotics team. He's now a urologist and does lots of robotic surgeries. I think that is becoming the standard. Smaller incisions and so on.
My college boyfriend his mom and step-dad were doctors. The step-dad was a urologist. He said it was all going to be robotic one day except c-sections. He said those would be the only traditional surgeries left.

DH and I are thinking of getting an Air Fryer. Any recommendations? Things to look out for. Things to avoid. 🤓 We got DS a Ninja one and he loves it. For one person, it is really useful. There's not enough capacity for our family.

Well, you know we plan everything. But we have always been fortunate, things like the PO sale falling into our laps. My poor dad was the opposite, nothing he did seemed to work very well, bless his heart.
The house is ready except for me doing some more cleaning and hubs putting curtain rods up. We were not going to but if we let it set till the first of the year, we want curtains up, some lights on, and heat in there too. Also they just look so much better that way. Ollies for rods, like a Pennys sale for curtains, those windows are smaller and not as many, so no huge expense.
If we don't need the mobile to store stuff in we are going to sell it off the property. The last to be sold is his folks house. That guy is ok and it may be dirty but hubs redid it before he rented it. New cabinets, some bathroom things, flooring. It could need flooring before selling it. So it sounds like he is going with the plan for us to move. I'm not asking or pushing him right now.
I know if the bone scan comes back bad, he is very likely to choose the course of doing nothing, so I hope its ok. Also if this did all occur, in just a year, it is aggressive.

If so it got this bad in a year?? Doesn't seem logical. I'm sorry for the results, CG. I guess a few things from my perspective. You said you wondered how bad it got. Your DH could have the aggressive type of prostate cancer. That's the kind my dad had. That's the kind no one talks about. The only kind of cancer they talk about is the one that is slow growing that many men die with.
If it is the aggressive kind, please have your husband get it treated. Please show him this post.
When my dad was diagnosed it already went into his bones. They offered surgery to my dad, and he would not do it. Because of the incontinence risk. That was step 1 of making my mom's life harder. If you can avoid getting the cancer in your bones, please DO IT. I don't know what your husband thinks this kind of cancer does, but, aggressive prostate cancer, for my dad, wasn't really aggressive, like other cancers where you are diagnosed and then pass away in 4 months.
My dad lived for almost 10 years. My dad was a lot like your husband. CG, my dad is so much like your husband. Similar ages, similar outlooks on life, similar values.
The decline was not good. Your husband would probably be miserable.
My dad's decline lasted about 18 months. This was step 2 of making my mom's life harder.
18 months before dad died, he broke his first bone in his body. Now, the fact that it took him 7+ years to break a bone was amazing. There was nothing they could do. 9 months later, he broke his leg again. And it wasn't even a big thing. I think he hit his leg on a door or something that we take for granted every day. It even took my dad 3 weeks to die, despite his body being full of cancer. And forgive me for being so bold, as you are a stranger. I never understood why my dad was so concerned about incontinence when he had to be on hormones that suppressed all sexual urges. Part of his treatment was getting his hormones to nothing. I mean, if your penis isn't going to work, anyway, for sure, what does incontinence matter at that point? Why happily give up sex and insist that you need to stand up to pee at all costs? Your husband and your son should get a genetics test. My dad gave me his mutation. In men, it increases prostate cancer risk. In women, breast cancer. There was no family history of breast cancer until me.
It also means my kids will need to be genetically tested for the mutation. Yes. Life is finite. But, we don''t have to go willingly.

Soup and stew, please return to posting. I'm not mad at you, what you said is fine with me. We all have opinions and if we can't share them, whats the point of having places where you can talk.
Right now I am making me some salmon cakes, noone likes them but me and sometimes I just have to have a fix.
I'm also going to stew some apples, again for just me. I made hubs and DD their apple pie.
And no to the person who says, do you want to pay that much for a manufactured home. No, we don't, especially an old one. We thought the $69k was too much for the one we bought, so you know we don't. But it does look pretty and nice.

Hubs and I have been watching this house being built on the way to town. The place is HUGE! The house is 2 story and big. I'm guessing 2 to 4 acre lot, maybe more. And behind it they build the biggest garage I've seen, like wow! I don't know if they are local or brought money from out of town or what.
Now the swimming pool is in and they are paving everything. All around the doorways to the garages and wide wide aprons. It goes on up and all around the swimming pool and looks like to the back door. Today they were starting on the driveway. $50k or more in paving?? Never seen anything like it. We have one other house here like that and they started out wanting a million and I think ended up getting half of that after being for sale forever. The guy that owned it, ran a ponzi scheme here selling church contracts or something. My FIL wanted to get into I told him stay away years ago, someone paying 12% interest wasn't legit. Lot of people here lost a ton of money to him. Anyway, he sunk a lot in his palatial home so they know where it went. I guess some people recovered some money. Now I can't remember if he is in jail or committed suicide, think his son was involved too. It was a mess.
I just can't imagine building a house like that here, but wish them well. There is another beauty out that way with I suppose a 10 acre or more lawn, I see he isn't mowing all of it anymore. But he inherited money from his dad that had a very profitable business here he built up. He was good people.
I will get a picture one day if I can. I figure when the landscaping goes in it will be amazing. I know the people that live next door. They have a cute little 2 bedroom home and makes it look like a toy. Pretty street out there and quite a few new homes going in but nothing like that one. Just wow. All I can think of is I would need an upstairs and downstairs maid.

My husband doesn't like the idea of incontinence either. The sexual part is not a concern. But neither he nor I want to go the radiation way, they said if they do than they can't go back and do surgery. So he is opting for that. I just think he sees DD with problems and I am having issues, no pants yet though. I get up in the morning and can't hold the urine and get my jams soaked on the way to the bathroom and have to change many mornings, it is likely to get worse. It is just humiliating, if you know what I mean.
I don't know but he seems to be moving forward with us selling and moving.
I will not jump to any conclusions and assume he will have surgery no matter what.

toomuchreality, awesome news. I hope you enjoy your “date” and the trip with your family. I love it that they are doing those things with and for you. finnime I hope you are having a wonderful time with your family. countrygirl2 I am sorry about the news regarding your DH’s health. I will be praying for both of you. Me, my stomach is still hurting. I haven’t eaten anything at all today. The only thing I ate yesterday was a few chicken wings. Last night was really weird. I never did throw up, I just felt like I was going to, until I fell asleep. The timing really sucks for my stomach to be acting up so bad, with Mister planning to do all that cooking tomorrow. Idk the full menu, but I know he’s going to bbq some ribs and cook greens and spaghetti. And I’m going to have to share my new found secrets on smoking a shoulder. I’m going to make the rub and the sauce today, so the rub can sit on the shoulder overnight, and the sauce can do it’s thing for the flavors to blend overnight. I’m not much of a cook, so I still don’t understand why it’s so spicy hot that it literally numbed my tasted buds right after I make it, but after it sits, it’s not really spicy. It has red pepper flakes in it, but where does the spiciness go after it sits for a while?

I had my yearly appointment at the cardiac clinic. The EKG was normal and my doc took me off the Bisoprolol. He said I should have a lot more energy now. I don't know why it's typing in bold. I keep removing the bold icon but it comes right back.

I’m not much of a cook, so I still don’t understand why it’s so spicy hot that it literally numbed my tasted buds right after I make it, but after it sits, it’s not really spicy. It has red pepper flakes in it, but where does the spiciness go after it sits for a while? I'm sorry you're still hurting. What do you put in your rub? It’s a recipe I found online and wrote down. I have to go find it, I don’t know it by heart lol.

I had my yearly appointment at the cardiac clinic. The EKG was normal and my doc took me off the Bisoprolol. He said I should have a lot more energy now. I don't know why it's typing in bold. I keep removing the bold icon but it comes right back. That’s great news! I hope he’s right about you having more energy.

I can explain the background code, if you'd like. but this should be enough.

toomuchreality , awesome news. Here it is: 4 T. stone ground mustard 3 T. brown sugar 2 tsp. garlic powder 2 tsp. smoked paprika 1 tsp. dried thyme 1 tsp. onion powder 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. pepper I don’t use the ground mustard though. I rub yellow mustard all over the shoulder before I put the rub on.
