I guess I should not have eaten dinner. I feel terrible. My stomach is not hurting, but I seriously feel awful. And I feel like I’m going to throw up, but so far I haven’t. o.m.g. I feel like shit and I’m miserable. Idk what this is about. I wish I had not eaten anything, If you both had food poisoning the other night from the pizza, sometimes it takes a while to get fully out of your system. I agree with Busymom that eating bland or safe things might be best until you feel like yourself again. I hope you can start relaxing a bit more now that the funeral is over.

Good morning, Off Topic and off the wall invisipeeps of Y Ma'am, keeping my laptop engrossing. I hope your Friday bears good news and good health for you and yours. Several people have asked if Lee is going to impact me. And it will, but not in a dangerous way. We'll have high winds and some driven rain, possibly with some tree damage and some areas may have electrical outages, but over all it should be a lesser tropical storm. The storm surge will not hurt us, as we are on the south side and the surge and storm are coming from the north. I may get out there and take some pictures of the surf in the aftermath. Also, I love someone named Lee, so this storm makes me smile whenever it gets mentioned. I truly hope you are feeling better now, Pink Cashmere and TheOtherMe. Since DD is now going to be moving on the 1st we have work to do, organizing this move across the lawn. I'll hire some muscle. The weather yesterday was brilliant. I got this shot of a fishing boat, Maria, coming in as the sun sets.

Do you know what I realized this morning? My supervisor disciplined me because they didn't like someone else and could take it out on me because I had a good collegial relationship with the person they don't like. Like, I got a subpar rating in one area on my performance evaluation because of it. Someone told me that I could go nuclear, and I wasn't seeing it. So I didn't really believe them. Now I see it. I wish I could process quickly so I could see things in the moment.
I know I can't go the nuclear route, because I can't have that follow me, even though escalating is absolutely the right thing to do. I can, however meet with people up the ladder and ask questions about what information to share and with whom when the timing is right. The nice thing about making the meetings is that I can control what I share.
I'm trying to get out, and I know that is the ultimate solution.

I'm ready for the weekend but not sure it will be restful.
My counterpart has a family emergency she had to fly out for. The boss stayed in town (they're married) but it is still affecting him and there is a good chance that he could have to fly out too. It's just bad timing. I'd change my surgery to hold down the fort for them except for the pesky piece that I'm losing my insurance and can't replace it with anything as affordable. There's only so much that I can do ahead of time and with all the layoffs our new processor is feeling overwhelmed and behind. Anyway, just bad timing. At least we're slow.

The weather yesterday was brilliant. I got this shot of a fishing boat, Maria, coming in as the sun sets. yes, the forecaster just now said that Lee will pass MA as a Category 1 hurricane, and that the worst surges will hit Cape Cod Bay (north of the Cape, for those not from around here) and north of the islands. I'm far enough inland from that side that I should be okay, too. but I'm going to load up the shed with things that could become airborne in strong winds. it's already cooler and breezier this morning than yesterday, and it feels like something is coming. also - I'm not sure who exactly, but a car with The Weather Channel logo on it has been spotted down in Chatham.

It is indeed just bad timing, raeoflyte. Hang in there. Get your surgery before you're laid off.

I always need time to think things through too. But that is crap. Nuclear might not be right, but definitely bring it up so that they can't ignore you.

Inexcusable that they can’t point out the correct grave after they made you pay to find a spot for Mister’s dad. Hopefully they will locate it soon so the family can put some markers on both graves until something more permanent. I am sorry the hits keep coming and I am hoping the pressure on both of you eases now that the hardest is over. Sending gentle hugs to both of you. What I don't understand is even if there is not a tombstone most cemeteries will put some sort of small marker in place so people know not to dig there. They should be able to find her. My great grandfather did not have one which upset my dad. He got a map from the office which had the numbers of the plots. We found him because there was a little circular metal marker almost like a drain plug that had the number of the plot on it. He was indeed buried right next to my great grandma. I get why my grandmother did not want to get him a tombstone but she did so for my dad. Now it's a joint stone for my great grandma and grandfather. Same. My grandpa died in November and my uncle in December. After uncle's funeral we went to grandpa's grave and there was the drain plug looking thing you're referencing on his grave.

Looks like I now have 2 semi feral cats. The one we have cared for since kitten is a calico, is a runt, and a complete sissy. We have seen an all black cat hanging around for several months, eating cat food on the porch when it thinks no one is around and runs off as soon as it sees a person.
This morning I woke up 2 both cats on the porch, 3 feet apart, waiting on breakfast. Crazy cat lady mode has apparently begun.
PS. I love dogs but don't have the schedule or bandwidth that comes with taking care of one.
ETA: Do cats have a sixth sense in identifying menopausal women? Seriously, this cat has avoided even the sight of humans until now. 🤦♀️

I definitely just listened to a near-45min meeting that had to happen because the sub-QA group (and the head guy would flay me if he ever heard me call them the sub-group) didn't understand why they needed to sign off on the CMO specs related to their sub-focus* after a policy change by our company. I didn't used to sign off on their specs until recently, it had been the packaging engineer. well, this spec that came through last week was something specific to their sub-group, and was something coming from a vendor that I have zero visibility to. zero visibility, responsibility, or ownership of anything that comes out of that vendor. so no, I'm not signing off, YOU are. well, the 45min were all about how he needed other people to provide him information he could easily find on his own, and a whole lot of why does he need to sign off on this? *trying to be deliberately vague. I am reading that as... In other words he spent 45 mins saying why other people needed to do his job for him.

There was a delay in getting my dad’s headstone done, since my brother felt strongly it needed to be done in person and none of us got out there again for another year plus. I took care of it while I was there…but it was surprisingly disturbing to visit his grave without a marker. He didn’t have a temporary marker either. No wonder his cousin was bugging us to get it done My grandparents bought four plots in a row way back when, presumably after Grandma’s stillbirth, so at least I knew exactly where Dad’s grave was.

Got to get some things done here. In half an hour I'm off to an impromptu lunch with DSis, ODB and DH at a restaurant an hour from me. I'm going to love it! I'll figure out organizing, scheduling and cleaning and budgeting later.

ETA: Concert ticket prices make no sense. I was looking at presale for Tyler Childers for next year dates in Baltimore and the cheapest seats were $299, but I could see GS in Atlanta this year with decent seats at $185?

DH and I are thinking of getting an Air Fryer. Any recommendations? Things to look out for. Things to avoid. 🤓 I have a recommendation, and an avoid notice. mooch and M have two of these (I'm not sure which size, there's more than one) - link and love them. she had been gifted one as a housewarming gift and rolled her eyes at it. he started using it when he moved in, and she went out and bought another one. super easy to clean, and it works great. not too big on the counter, either. I have one of these - link packed in a crate somewhere in the basement. I had bought it when AFs first started getting popular, mooch just *had to* have one in the house. it's huge, clunky with a heavy glass bowl, hard to keep the lid clean with the mechanics exposed (lid isn't DW safe) and wasn't all that great for much other than making ah-MAY-zing crispy chicken wings. when I start having football parties out back at the tiki bar, I'm totally pulling this out to live back there lol...

I saw GS on his farewell tour in 2013. Best night ever!
I've loved him since his debut. Sister won tickets from a radio station in 2008 when DH and I were dating, and took a skank with her. I refused to watch her son that night and DH donned a white cowboy hat and put on his concert for me. And here I am. 🤣
