My comeback to that would be if you are charging me $400 to have her husband buried beside her then your ass can go out and put a flag up without me asking. One of the ladies in the office gave me a brochure to give to Mister, for pre planning to be buried there. Ummmm…. No. We should plan things, but it definitely won’t be there. I hope you paid those $400 with a credit card as I believe you have a good case to contest that payment since it was made for services NOT performed!

of course not bc he's higher management He should be glad you're willing to do things outside of your job responsibilities. But they always have their politics. I was willing to go above and beyond but not anymore. Going to join in playing pass the buck more often.

of course not bc he's higher management Azucena copies her boss on email:”Dear Mr. Handslapper, thank you for letting me know, and thank you for personally taking over responsibility for meeting the client deadline going forward.” Or some such thing, other people are usually better at crafting these. Yeah, except in my 1-1 this week, bossman was like "wait you're still working on that project?" which is extra funny because he makes me update him weekly on all my projects and this project was included in my update last week and the week before, and... We've reached a laughable amount of dysfunction. I preferred the days when we weren't Fortune 300 or even 500. Meanwhile we paid some consultant for rebranding which is completed and was previewed on Monday. OMG at the amount of internal babble about adding royal purple as a secondary color. It's very love/hate, and I'm over here like who gives an eff.

When he brought home the new logo it seriously looked like something Gwen could have drawn for way cheaper. A huge deal was made out of how awesome this company was at building brands, how hip to the young people they were, they had their pulse on what drives consumption. I drove by the site a few days ago it is a 50 Shades of Green store now. I told DH so much for being awesome at branding they couldn't even keep their own going.

The names of pot stores always make me chuckle.
45 min presentation on why they deepened our key color, what it represents, why they chose new font, all the interpretations of the 'design' surrounding our name, etc, etc, etc.

I definitely just listened to a near-45min meeting that had to happen because the sub-QA group (and the head guy would flay me if he ever heard me call them the sub-group) didn't understand why they needed to sign off on the CMO specs related to their sub-focus* after a policy change by our company. I didn't used to sign off on their specs until recently, it had been the packaging engineer. well, this spec that came through last week was something specific to their sub-group, and was something coming from a vendor that I have zero visibility to. zero visibility, responsibility, or ownership of anything that comes out of that vendor. so no, I'm not signing off, YOU are. well, the 45min were all about how he needed other people to provide him information he could easily find on his own, and a whole lot of why does he need to sign off on this? *trying to be deliberately vague.

Misters’ friend/mentor, Imma just call him D, he and his wife just dropped off dinner and a bottle of wine. They said they wanted to make sure we had dinner last night, but they didn’t want to bother us and they figured a lot of people had probably brought us food. Nope, not a nary soul even offered. Which is interesting to me because people kept asking about a repast, but since we weren’t doing that, I guess it was every man for himself. That is not how I remember things going when my Grandmother died, but every family and circle is different.
Mister ordered pizza last night and idk if it was the pizza or stress, but both our stomachs started rebelling majorly early this morning. If there was ever a time to be grateful we have more than one bathroom, today was it. My stomach had not hurt like that in a long time. It was the crying and begging, please God, make it stop, kind of hurt again.
D calls Mister his little brother, and I can tell that he genuinely cares for Mister. He and his wife came to the funeral yesterday, which surprised Mister that D came in a church, because D is Muslim and very active in the Muslim community. But that’s just how much he cares about Mister. He keeps telling me to take care of his little brother. He seems to be really worried about him.
He told me last week that he bonded with Mister because he sees a lot of himself in Mister. He was trying to tell me something without coming right out and saying it. He said that when his Dad died a couple years ago, his wife kept asking what could she do to help him and he kept telling her, the best way to help him was to leave him alone. He said that he and Mister both just hold stuff in, and it’s not healthy, but that’s just how they are. So he was basically sharing his story to try to advise me on how to handle Mister right now, without saying it directly. I appreciated it, and maybe I “got” what he was saying without him actually saying it, because I’m already well aware of how Mister is in that regard. Both of them are disabled Army veterans, so they have that in common too. Idk if Mister is the way he is because he’s been in a war zone and seen things he doesn’t like talking about, and that’s why he just holds stuff in, or what. But he does have diagnosed PTSD from that.
I am grateful for D and their other friend, being such awesome friends with each other, and with Mister, because they all understand each other and can be honest and vulnerable with each other in ways they can’t be with anyone else, not even with their wives, or Mister with me. The 3rd friend is a Marine, he’s out of the military, but the military is not out of him. He is not”ok” either. But his wife is also a Marine, so maybe she has more insight as to how and why he is the way that he is.
I am on the verge of a rant about our veterans, and how so many of them come back home all messed up, physically and mentally, and I’ve already rambled enough, so I will hush now.

Well, looks like I sold my PO if I take it. They actually only came down off the number I asked by $5000. I told him call me back in the morning and I will give him an answer. Hubs almost went through the roof that I didn't say yes. It's an all cash deal and 30 day close. It is a very good deal, so if he calls back I will take it, we are getting to old to deal with this stuff. I'm rather surprised, they offered what they did, but ok by me. Hubs would have taken thousands of dollars less, I don't let him sell anything, LOL! He just doesn't seem to realize what stuff is worth anymore, and won't listen to me.

I say take the offer and be done with it. Then sell the rental house you just renovated. Get those things closed by the end of the year. That way you can lump those sales into 2023 and it will only affect one year of your IRMAA.
Obviously I do not know your IRMAA bracket and how much room you've got before you move up to the next bracket. But this year has been a tough one for you with that bad tenant (really, selling your new-ish laundry appliances and replacing them with crap appliances, an outright theft in my book) and it's told you that people will take advantage of your generosity.

Hubs would have taken thousands of dollars less, I don't let him sell anything, LOL! He just doesn't seem to realize what stuff is worth anymore, and won't listen to me. Mister is like that with buying stuff. That is why he is not “allowed” to make big purchases by himself. He doesn’t know how to say no to a good sales person. When he bought his Honda a few years ago, he let me do all the talking. Even when the salesman and finance person tried to go around me and talk to Mister instead of me, he made it clear that they had to talk to me, not him. I don’t consider myself an expert at negotiating, but I do know how to research and I absolutely know how to say no thanks to a bad deal, or something I don’t even need or want. Mister, if you are a good salesperson, you can probably sell him an 8track player, which he knows good and well he has no use for because he doesn’t even have any 8 track tapes, and wouldn’t know where to find any or why he would try to find them in the first place, since the quality of recordings has improved so much since then. So you don’t let your DH sell stuff, and Mister and I have an understanding that he can’t buy stuff that involves dealing with salespeople without me.

What is it with these guys? I have bought, sold, traded, and generally, not everytime of course come out on top.
We had a decent little car, my tow car several years back, hubs said maybe we can get a couple thousand out of it. I sold it for $5200, it was worth every dollar of it. I don't try to cheat people, but I'm not giving stuff away either. We have done enough of that. Like Pink I research what it is worth, but than I will come down a bit.
Last house we sold same deal I priced it $10k higher than the realtor, we sold it in a week. Jeez, people. Understand that items that are clean, well cared for, are worth money and people understand that.

We sold his grandma's tiny farm this year, then this post office, and if we sell the other place with our other income I think we will be over. I need to check it and make sure. If we find out tomorrow that hubs does have a serious condition that will change it all. We will sell. Then we will just have his folks place left and we will need to store some things there. Selling it the next year with no other rental income we will be ok.
I would prefer not to have to pay more premiums if we don't have to, with the drug costs that will not be so good.

My doc had the liver function panel redone and this time comes up normal. I think they made a mistake, not having cholesterol drugs for 4 days and ozempic dropped for 2 days just isn't going to change stuff that much. Will be redone in about 3 weeks anymore, but nice to know.

Understand that items that are clean, well cared for, are worth money and people understand that. I don’t know what that’s about. I do know that after I had bad luck with used cars, I started buying new cars, and even though that was way before the Internet, I educated myself about buying cars and financing. I had bought 3 new cars from dealers by the time Mister was shopping for his used car that he bought from a dealer. Mister had never bought a car from a dealer. He had been a fan of Honda Accords since I met him, and had always admired them. When his Jeep Cherokee died, I told him on a whim, to let’s just go to the closest Honda dealer and see what they had. His car seemed like it had just been waiting for him, it had been sitting on the lot for a few months and was everything he wanted, from the V6 engine, to the windows that were already tinted. My ace in my back pocket was that I knew a manager that worked there, and had a long history with him and trusted him, and I called him to ask him about a fair price for the car Mister wanted to buy. I never mentioned my Ace’s name or made it known in any way that I knew him during the process of buying the car. Mister had only bought cars from “we tote the note” kind of places, while I had experience buying new cars from dealers, so he was good with letting me deal with the dealer that had the car he wanted to buy. He still loves his car, and it is paid off now. OD parked her vehicle here yesterday and drove Mister’s car to the funeral, cemetery, and out to eat with Kiddo and Brother’s daughter. Because the tags on OD’s car are expired and she doesn’t have insurance. Mister’s reluctance to seek help from attorneys means that his daughters’ Mom is still receiving 4 figures of child support every month from him, which should’ve ended over a year ago, by law. That is a whole ‘nother battle between him and I. But given that their Mom lives in her family home with other relatives, I don’t understand why OD is riding around with expired tags and no insurance.

Now all I see if hot pink or blue when I get the company wide emails and it distracts me so much I dont fully read what the email says.

I feel like shit and I’m miserable. Idk what this is about. I wish I had not eaten anything, I'm guessing stress. That'll do it to me in a New York minute. Try eating foods the next few days that normally don't annoy your stomach, and avoid foods that tend to be a bit greasy, like pizza. You'll probably laugh when I tell you this, but it seems you have a Scandinavian stomach. Gotta go easy on grease & spice until it settles down. Even if you have to eat stuff like chicken soup (without heavy spice) and crackers until your stomach calms down. Hang in there!

You know that sounds an awful lot like pancreatitus. I was so horribly sick with it. Diarrhea and vomiting. Finally I went in the ER one night and they found out what it was. I thought I was going to die I was so miserable. Surely they have checked for that.
I made a pie this evening. Fresh apples and I made it a bit differently. I usually put in sugar, a bit of cornstarch, lemon to keep from darkening, and cinnamon, with butter on the apples before putting the top on it. Tonight I ran out of sugar, didn't have enough and didn't want to go downstairs to fill up my container. So I'm thinking what would brown sugar taste like. I used I suppose near a cup, I just grabbed some handfuls than tasted the mixture. It tastes really good, a totally different taste than a normal apple pie and was darn good.
Oh yes, he is to call back at 10:30 in the morning, and yes, I will sell it to him if he does. Hubs about had a fit because I didn't say yes right then. I hate to let it go, I don't think anyone will take care of it and it will end up closed. That will put the final touches on our tiny town. I just hate to see this happen.

Last night, TD and I went out to dinner for our anniversary. He had jambalaya, which had shrimp in it the size of small lobsters. I had duck cassoulet. Both were quite good. He ordered minestrone as an appetizer, I ordered a cesear’s salad and we both had dessert and a bottle of wine. Bill was $147, including tip. This is the first time in 7 years that we have gone out for dinner for our anniversary. Normally, I cook, or we are traveling. Happy anniversary!

My son in law (DD2's DH) just offered to take me on "a date", to see George Strait in concert. His kindness made me cry. It really was was sweet of him.

Oh, boy! My daughter (DD2) just called me. They are taking me with them to Disneyland in October! They're paying my way. I don't know what I did to deserve this. I'm crying again! LOL
Added: DSonIL said, the only expectation they have, is for me to have a good time and make good family memories.
Although he and I have had our moments, we generally get along very well. Their kindness and generosity is very appreciated by me.
I have to get up early, so need to get to sleep. I wish I was tired.
Good night. I hope you sleep well. HAPPY FRIDAY and HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!
