The neighbor that the FBI took is back. She has a fancy new ankle monitor too! Would it be wrong to go over, point at it and say, "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHH SHINY!!!!!!!!!" Not IMO. But that's just me.

My son thought wearing only his football helmet was a good idea! Then he picked up baseball and actually sleep with his baseball hat on for months. But they do grow out of it so there is hope for Missy.

I do think that about dad. Like I said, he had been concerned and supportive of DD seeking help for her mental issues - while making sure that I was on top of it. I think mom's situation is a little more difficult for him. My mom has always had her ways, but was mostly healthy. I think it is more an issue of this person that you have married to 49 years is now having issues with mental health, and he doesn't know how to deal with it. And my dad is a "fixer" and he can't fix this, as much as he might try. I appreciate all good thoughts and prayers as I try to navigate this. Could you get your parents plugged into jewish social services? They have services in my neck of the woods, they have folks that drive folks to appointments, help with errands/grocery shopping, etc. I don't know how old your parents are, i'm guessing at least mid 70s. It's not unreasonable. Jewish Social services also offers mental health care.
Another adult agency told my mom to get help through them.
Thanks, I will look into it. My parents married at 18 and 17, so in their mid to late 60s.

Bummed. Dear friend in New Mexico tested positive for Covid, so our trip is off. Just spent an hour cancelling the hotel in Denver, the rental car, parking at the airport here and the plane tickets. And sent DS an email explaining we won't be seeing him Thursday after all. In some ways the timing wasn't great, but I was really looking forward to going. I think DH will be starting dialysis soon, so we'll see when we can go. I'm so sorry. But I'm glad you found out before you went/got exposed. And in time cancel things. I hope you'll be able to schedule your trip again, before long.

Never taking two nine year Olds and a 13 year old to the mall by myself ever again. Good God. I should have packed purse Tylenol. I don't care what I have to bribe DH with I'll agree. That's a freaking two parent job. I always have advil and tylenol in my purse, along with my other meds and a few band aids. The joke in the family is, ask your mom if she has any x,y,z, for me.

I'm beat, but had a super fun day. Somebody brought a service dog to the zoo, so that certainly created some excitement around the wolves and cougars. This cat was NOT having it. She would have shredded this dog and the dog knew it.

Do you think maybe your Dad is afraid to acknowledge that whatever is going on with your Mom isn’t as simple as just doing something to make herself feel better? I would be pissed at your sister too. If Mom isn’t doing all that well physically or mentally, that means sister needs to find someone else to care for her children while she’s working or whatever. It is easier to just pretend nothing is going on with Mom, and maintain the status quo. I am sorry about your Mom not being okay. I do think that about dad. Like I said, he had been concerned and supportive of DD seeking help for her mental issues - while making sure that I was on top of it. I think mom's situation is a little more difficult for him. Just got back from helping my friend clean her place for the final time. She will be done in a few hours the only thing left was putting up a smoke detector and washing the floors. I will admit that I am pretty beat. It's on to a cool shower and a few otter pops.

I went grocery shopping because toilet paper is $3,99 if you're a member. On the way home, a beautiful caramel colored man with dreadlocks stopped me and asked "Do you need any help carrying your bags, ma'am? " Oh, he was gorgeous! If only I was 50 years younger..... So did you let him carry your bags for you?

Taxpro and Zib, I hope you feel better soon.
Meghan my Condolences on the loss of your grandma.
Giramomma sorry about the job. How do you feel about DD wearing her princess shoes and nothing else? I don’t think I would do well with that in my house, but admit, when it is one of our children, it is amazing how we can stretch and adjust cause we love them.
Susanna, sorry about your ex MIL.
Rayoflyte-hopefully your DH can handle some meal planning. One of my nieces asked on FB one time about Costco Frozen meals she could rewarm & serve that were good. She ended up with a decent amount of suggestions.
Went to Lunch with My DS and her family for her 61st B-day. Her Oldest just bought a tesla Model 3 and I drive a Rav4 Prime PHEV. Her husband couldnt resist commenting about how EV’s aren’t really Green. My nephew who is his step son, and really has never liked him loudly proclaimed I Love my Tesla. Then my Nephew was telling me about his HS students working in the Trades and he has 3 students working for 2 major construction contractors in our area. Two are working on the Corture 44 story 190 Million Luxury high rise, and one on his HS project which I am pretty sure was listed as on of the largest permitted projects in the state in a trade magazine that circulates my office. (HS students working as Union apprentices and their hours and training count just the same as other union apprentices,DN said the parents really want their kids to go for the Union jobs, and the city he teaches in is a very upscale Red area). DN said one of his students was a female, and I said I was not surprised the contractor wanted the female student on that job, b/c federal and state $$ mean they need the diversity. BIL started bitching about DEI and Woke bullsh!t. I finally lost it and told him to stop being a Racist P!g.
I told my daughter no one comments on someone’s Porche or Corvette or Audi, why do some people not understand that oil and gas lobbying $$ are driving the Republican anti-EV animosity. Better more efficient batteries are on the horizon. DH’s truck has something like a 360 range. Our friend said if we were concerned about the battery life we could charge at his house for a few hours (He has a Tesla Model S and I think his wife has a Tesla SUV). DH had something like 60 miles left when we got home. He did not charge Friday eve b/c his battery range was good, but he had used about 40 miles of his range Friday.
My Husband and kids are Mexican, one niece is Married to a Mexican Man, the other to a black man. My husband and DD can’t tolerate his open racism. I wonder how my brother’s family feels about the crap he says.

So did you let him carry your bags for you? No, they weren't heavy at all. I've learned to say, "Oh. That would be very nice. Thank you!" on occasion, since I've been having more trouble with my heart. Not always, but sometimes. Of course, I thank them profusely, whether they do it, or not. Because I really do appreciate the offer. You might make a great, younger friend one day, by allowing them to help. 😊

Good morning and welcome to Monday, able invisipeeps, keeping all in order. I hope your day proves to be a happy one. I am not, this morning, packing last minute medications and electric toothbrush preparatory to jumping on a plane. I hope we see our friends sooner than later. His health is not great; the ER kept him longer after testing positive for tests on his heart. He's diabetic, too, like DH, whose health is also subpar. Yesterday after making cookies we watched the first episodes of the latest season of Call the Midwife. I'm glad they're still making this show. It reflects the times quite faithfully and is funny and wise, too. Yesterday was deep in fog when Franklin the Dog and I went to the beach, then visited a marina up the street. We saw this Grin:

Writing SOPs, which I am sure will go over well. Trying to combine many different facilities under 1 defined process is not for the faint of heart.

There's plenty of time in as they grow up to get them to adhere to norms. DS had run around naked time after baths when he was little. I promise he doesn't do that at home now.

There is a fruit fly in my office driving me crazy. I put out a trap with apple cider vinegar, but no luck so far. They are not supposed to live longer than 15 days, but I am not sure that I won't destroy my office trying to nab it before then. This is the furthest room from the kitchen and I do not bring food in here, so it is irritating me that it found its way in here.

I'm avoiding work a bit. Figure I have a few more days that I can do that.
The kids have been walking the dogs with me which is always nice. They're stricter with them than I am which is funny, but nice to all walk together. Plus I apparently didn't fully destroy the grape vine so we can't let them out loose in the backyard and they need more walks for exercise.
Dc and I did our training cleaning at the local house rabbit society yesterday. And we still don't have bunnies at our home so go us. It was fun. A haul to get out there, but best volunteer gig we could get. 1x a month, show up any time during your weekend including as early as you want. Clean cages, then snuggle with bunnies. It's quiet, doesn't smell. Volunteer personalities abound of course but the cleaning coordinator seemed very grounded in reality.

DS at 10 still has to be reminded after a shower not to run around naked. I would also like him to get over the obsession with fart humor

The best thing about the kids being grown and launched is that I can roam the house the house naked after a shower. (We do not have neighbors who can see our house.)

My laundry room is right off the entryway in my house. When the kids are gone, I'll often come in from sweaty yard work and strip down to nothing in there then waltz through the house to the master bath to shower.
I still kick myself for not making the laundry a dual laundry/bathroom with shower.

My son thought wearing only his football helmet was a good idea! Then he picked up baseball and actually sleep with his baseball hat on for months. But they do grow out of it so there is hope for Missy. I'm quoting myself to clarify the bolded. They do learn when it is inappropriate to show up sans clothes!! As stated by more than one poster here we as adults still show up without clothes on occasion! And I plead the 5th, 6th and 7th since I live alone

When my kids were super small money was very tight and I had a very small amount of clothing, so on laundry days you could find me walking around naked - because if I was washing the clothes I was washing all of the clothes!

Note to self - stop looking at comments on yahoo articles. It is only going to raise your BP, and you have enough sh*t going on.
This gem about Louis CK is not worth your attention:
But as a female who has experienced these things, ALL of these actions are just as disturbing to the person experiencing them.
I do not even know why I am still shocked at how many openly racist and misogynistic people are still defending those behaviors.
