Found a cute little doll at the thrift store for $3. She's Miss December and is a Bradley doll from Korea. She's dressed like Mrs Claus. Could not resist. She came with her tag and certificate of authenticity so I got on Google. What little I found they were popular in the 70s. Produced from the mid 50s to early 80s. She must have come from someone's estate. Tempted to go get the other two on the shelf. She's kinda interesting in appearance she appeals to my kitschy odd side. I love thrift store shopping! Yesterday, though, it was an estate sale where I picked up 4 cookbooks for maybe $1 or maybe for free. I had 2 old mixing bowls marked $1 each, 2 table scarves that I want for a craft project, and these 4 cookbooks. She said $2 for evrything. Anyway, they are really old. One was published in 1923, one in 1940 (British cookbook during the war), and the other two are undated. The pages are tight, but the outside spine isn't great on the 100-year-old one. If it was, they go for $200 on Ebay. I have no idea what to do with these. Right now I have them on the FB sites. I'll give the $$$ to church missions if they sell. If not, I may donate them to the school if the culinary skills teacher wants them.

If anyone is curious I have an excellent recipe for roasted racoon. Make sure to keep the tail for presentation at the table.🤯 I understand why my grandma's 1970s cookbook runs to the other extreme with endless granola recipes.

Finally up, have normal things, done, bed made, laundry going, fed DD. Cleaned off the countertops, just straightened and washed them.
Hubs is putting trim on the storage building at the rent house. It will be finished this week and we will get it up for sale.
I'm drinking coffee and sitting here this morning, need to fix me something to eat too. Than I'm going out and start weeding again, hope I finish today. It's 74 but don't think its supposed to get hot out today.
Since I have been home Tigger is finally starting to go outside too. He did yesterday and again today. Not sure why he would not for hubs. He needs to and work off some of that weight he has gained. The cats both seem very happy now and back in the grove, didn't take Smoke long, but has Tig. They were both zooming around and playing last night like kittens. Love my boys.
I guess son is still in Utah working, said there is no point flying home for one day than flying back, so sometimes stays over the weekend.

Seems like my great aunt said something about coons and rabbits, where they left a foot on so you would know it was not a cat. Guess dressed out they looked alike.
Times have sure changed. But its good knowing that if starvation set in you could eat those things. People do a lot we would never dream of in situations like that. Like the poor souls in N Korea gathering and eating grass. And their leaders are fat from excess.

My Comcast went out again today. Ugh. I called and said, I'm tired of dealing with it. A technician is coming between 8-10AM tomorrow. Although I will be glad to have it fixed, I am NOT a morning person. I hope they don't have to come into my bedroom, it's a mess! And I have no motivation to clean it up. I hope it is fixed now or well on its way. In plumbing news, it is past 9:30AM and no plumber in sight. Rain will ramp up throughout the day so sooner would be better as thunderstorms are predicted to start at 2PM. Hoping the laundry building has water so I have something to wear to work on Monday. A newer resident called the police. Not sure how that will help but maybe it at least documented the problem? Cop car no longer on this side of the building, I wonder if it left. Generally, they start in the basement indoors so not sure why we do not have someone on site yet. Found no emergency number to call, not even sure if we have an apartment manager to text. I was unable to put in a ticket last night into the portal as it denied my login credentials were correct. Hopefully my downstairs neighbor did so after we talked about this last night. Yep. I the technician has been out and he was super nice and gave me some good info about how things work, so hopefully things are good again. Jeez, I can't believe you don't have a plumber on site yet. Especially since you don't have water. That's a pretty big deal. Hopefully, someone has arrived and is at least working on it by now. What a pain. If you lived in my area, I'd let you come do wash at my place. Good luck! What's happening with your car, anything? The Insurance Commissioner's office saved me, when I was getting nowhere, on my insurance claim. After months of waiting, with no answers, things happened really quickly, once the Commissioner's office become involved. And they were very nice.

DH and I had a real CTJ talk when he got home from work last night. We both now have things to work on, but we'll be ok -eventually. We were brutally honest and put all the cards on the table, including how he let everything build up in his head and shook me, and that it is going to take a while for me to trust him emotionally. But I'm feeling much more hopeful. So glad to hear this. At least you have a starting place now and there's hope. ❤

There is quite the Lululemon second hand market.
Apparently that is the brand right now for teen girls.
I am trying to teach Gwen there are often times ways around things and the ability to get it cheaper if you just take the time to look and be patient.
I favorited some stuff on Ebay to have her look at so I know what direction to take my searches in.
Planning out Christmas shopping so I can spread out the cash flow since we have to fix the furnace before winter.
Bob will get his bday gift for Christmas since he didn't come home. Dad is take care of I found a really nice Estes Park mug at the thrift store.
That leaves the girls and DH.

I hope everyone has a decent day, at the very least. Without stress, or painful issues. It seems like a lot of negativity has been happening to various members lately. I'd like a day of peace for you all, if not joyfulness. ♡

another gross day here, we're already in the house for humidity. LD wandered off and is probably passed out on my bed. Punk is pouting from the dog bed while she watches me fart around on this laptop. I'm going to try to be productive this afternoon, while watching football. I'm surprised to see that the Pats are the late game today, ugh. but I have a bunch of fruit to chop for salad, and I'd like to actually make that Thai peanut noodle salad I haven't gotten around to making. if I can crank it all out during the early games, then we can relax downstairs again for the Pats.

Beaver is very oily he said. He does not like squirrel at all. Has not had jellied moose nose nor does he want to. It's interesting to be going through an old cookbook like that and have your husband start randomly interjecting his opinion.

We were at a festival, and there were a tween wearing all lululemon. I really hoped she got her clothes second hand. I can't imagine spending 150 on an outfit for a 11 year old.

susana1954 I am sorry to hear about your MIL. I am glad you had a chance to visit her. TheOtherMe I hope you feel better soon. I agree with you on COVID- yuck! I tested negative for COVID. But my GI issues are back in full force. It’s been brewing for a few days, and now it’s gone from bad to worse. UGH! After the funeral, next week, I really need some time to pass with nothing crazy happening. At least a month, please? A couple of my -itises have been acting up off and on lately. In addition to my stomach hurting, my shoulder hurts, my arms, wrists and hands have been hurting, my feet hurt. It’s been a couple years I think, since I last had a shot for my arms and hands, so if they keep hurting I will make an appointment. The only thing I’ve ever been prescribed for my shoulder was to rest it. I did have a couple of shots for it years ago, but they didn’t help. Over the years since then, when it bothers me, it’s usually some stress involved. Have you ever gotten a message? I find that it can take my mind off of frustrations, and it forces me to relax. It sounds like so many of your pains are stress related, that if you can get your muscles to relax, it might take care of the pain. I know it really works when I overuse my hips.

About 10 or so years ago, I walked into a store to buy something for my nieces, who were really into it. A really snooty saleswoman came over and said ‘We don’t have anything to fit you’. My response was ‘Alrighty then. I’m not looking for me, but you have just lost a sale from a generous aunt’ and walked out. I was sooo pissed off.

Gwen got $50 from my dad and another $50 from FIL and had some saved up from doing chores for him. So she has a $150 outfit. It was all she wanted for her birthday. I'm not big on policing bday money so I said if she's satisfied getting two items for that much.go for it but that's all she could get I wasn't pitching in. She takes meticulous care of it so that's good. I bought her one tank top on vacation. I joked while in line I wouldn't be surprised if they do a credit check at the register and hand you a second mortgage application if you don't pass. There was a family in front of me that had arm loads for their teen. I should have asked where they work and if they had any openings.

So whatever upset Harriet’s stomach has worked its way over to Kronk. Both animals are on chicken and rice for the immediate future until this clears up.
We made pizza last night for dinner, cooked it on the grill. The 3 of us ate 2 pizzas it was so good. The dough was made from sourdough starter discard. I need to find out how my sister made it, as it was quite excellent. Put most local pizza places to shame, and we cooked it on a pizza stone we put on the grill.

Sometimes I wonder if Gwen was switched at birth we are so different in that regard. Abby is more like me. We just scored a brand new lilo and stitch Hoodia at my favorite thrift store. I.said the universe must have known its her birthday! She couldn't wait to brag to.DH

YDS here for weekend, housekeeper went to friends in Poconos. He made us a delicious cod dinner and capresi salad. Our electric was off for almost 2 days but thankfully we have a propane generator. Used a lot of propane so he’s looking at gauge to see if we need delivery. He’s pulling out evil spiny vine weeds that grew over the tanks . Propane company won’t deliver if too many weeds. Thinking to ask about putting oil delivery on automatic so we don’t need to go out sometimes in icy weather to read gauge. Maybe propane company also does automatic delivery?

Sitting by my head and staring, with an occasional paw at my head. He was very hungry, even though he had kibble in his bowl. I guess he didn't feel like eating dry kibble.

Trying to find my motivation. If you find it, maybe it'll tell you where mine is. After cleaning out the garage yesterday, I don't want to get started on any big projects today. A load or two of laundry, and I'm done.

Just tossed in some laundry as well, including towels. Having a hydration beverage from this morning's race swag bag. It's a strawberry lemonade fizzy tablet. It's really good.

One of the hottest days this summer and the ac has decided to stop working. Have a call into home warranty company. Thankfully I have fans and lots of food in the fridge.

Bummed. Dear friend in New Mexico tested positive for Covid, so our trip is off. Just spent an hour cancelling the hotel in Denver, the rental car, parking at the airport here and the plane tickets. And sent DS an email explaining we won't be seeing him Thursday after all. In some ways the timing wasn't great, but I was really looking forward to going. I think DH will be starting dialysis soon, so we'll see when we can go.
