Although I know nothing about them I am currently obsessed with the Joe Jonas/Sophie Turner divorce. So many different stories. They got married when she was 20 he was 27, she had not lived a lot of life. He was grooming her IMO. But it is coming off like he is the wronged one. I don't even know who those people are. I feel that way about a LOT of the headlines I see these days - unless they are on 90 Day Fiancee

You'll figure it out when you're 54. I dunno. I'm almost 48, so not that far off from 50s. My 40's sucked. My 30's weren't good, either. Didn't quite suck like my 40s. My 20's were fine only because i was naive and dumb. Once you factor in me being naive and dumb, they weren't all that good, either.
I hope to god I get cut a break and can enjoy my 50s. Honestly, I'd even settle for decent experience for my 50s. I'm the other way around. Since I had kids so early, I didn't really get to enjoy my 20 and most of my 30s. I'm living my best life in my 40s. My 50s will likely entail caring for elderly parents, so I gotta live it up now.

Gotta say, being a childfree DINK in my early 40s has been fanfuckingtastic! Do recommend. I would be living quite large with a 2nd income like mine. very jealous over here. Same! Wanna be roomies? On second thought, I don't think it would be good for our waistlines or livers if we did. Never mind. Carry on.

Nice to see you back Weltschmerz. I missed you Thanks. I just needed a break. The heat has been absolutely brutal up here in the Frozen North. Unbearable. Well over 100 every day with very high humidity.

we are back from the vet, with a load of antibiotics for Punk. vet says two reasons for peeing blood - UTI, or bladder tumors. so, out comes the ultrasound cart.....beautiful clear image of a healthy and tumor-free bladder. without a urine sample to test, we're just going to douse her with meds and test the urine afterward. phew. she just doesn't exhibit symptoms much, and with keeping LD contained for recovery, I just open the deck gate and just let her go. I'm not seeing her pee when she goes. so now I just need to update the daycare, since they were all worried as well. Macy had a UTI and I felt so bad for her. There was a ton of blood when she peed and she whimpered when she went. Macy doesn't whine, so you know it hurt. I couldn't get antibiotics in her fast enough!

Very strange that there are no pictures of a kitchen. The kitchen was ok. Not as updated as the rest of the house, but not bad.

Sushi had to go back to the vet yesaterday. Bloodwork every month and the MEDS! However, he's been a Very Good Boy over these last 13 years. I owe it to him. He's family.

I couldn't get antibiotics in her fast enough! that's kind of what this is, and why I've yoinked the gabapentin from LD's stash until the antibiotics can kick in. the other UTI she had, thankfully there was snow on the ground and I noticed the snow wasn't just yellow after she went. but clots? yikes. in the message I sent back to daycare, I sent back big hugs and thank yous, b/c I wouldn't have noticed this for a long time the way the house is operating with LD on lockdown. I seriously love that place.

Same here. Married at 21 had son at 23. No regrets though But I got divorced so close to age 40 I could spit on it Then it was Katie bar the door! I can honestly say each milestone going forward has been super each in their own way. Will say I’ve been fortunate health wise and life basically drama free! But I also know that can change as I sit here typing. Enjoy life kids. ETA. I won’t have to deal with aging parents mother died in 96 and father in WWII. My poor son will be dealing with me.

Well, here's hoping you're one of those "I feel better in my 70's then I did in my 30's!" people. That would be amazing.

T2's car insurance went way up so we're switching to their insurance and you have to have a membership. We'd be double covered!

The dogs had appointments at the vet today. Both of us completely forgot until the vet called Mister because we didn’t show up.

When DH went through his prostate challenges, I did not accompany him to any appointments other than the actual surgery, and the first post-op appointment as he was not allowed to drive (I stayed in the waiting room). He made the decision for surgery on his own. For some time I was a bit hurt by all that, but if I'm going to support "My Body, My Choice", which I do, I have to recognize that the other side gets to make decisions for their own body as well. I think it's often easier for a man to discuss relevant issues such as sexual dysfunction and urinary incontinence with his physician without his intimate partner present. DH refused to let me even drive him to his vasectomy procedure. I told DH it'd be better if I drove him home, but he stubbornly refused. He made it home, but once he was home & took his pain meds, he was very much out of it. Again, his body, his choice.

ugh, sorry. I. order to fall back to sleep, I had to crank the A/C down to 68. so I must be getting there soon, too. It bothers me most that it had been a good while since they were consistent. The last 6 months has been 1 or 2 a month, until now. Last night made 6 nights in a row. Enough that I resorted to wearing PJs to bed - at least I could just peel them off, which also means more laundry. We keep the house at 69 at night. Ugh. I'm sorry. I get them pretty much all day, every day, during the day. Not so much at night. It's so embarrassing, to always be wiping my face/hairline.

We both wore jackets at work, every day, even during summer. We use to joke that when we stopped wearing our jackets, everybody would know our business lol. I stopped wearing a jacket a few years ago. She still wears hers.

ugh. if it's not one pup, it's the other. daycare called right after I dropped Punk off with an alert, and then again an hour ago to come pick her up - she was passing blood clots when she peed. we are currently in the parking lot at the vet, waiting to head in. please keep your fingers crossed that this isn't anything serious. Sorry. Good luck!

Still hanging in for now, but also doing the bare minimum for DH. He is still DH for now and is beginning to notice how I actually do. I can see that it is bothering him with me being so distant. I think in the end we'll both ok, it just may take a while to get there. Still praying for you and Mister with all his mess. ❤️

Today has been kind of weird. Mister’s energy is off, I can feel it. It’s understandable, so I’ve been leaving him alone. I’m sure that it doesn’t help that his back is really bothering him. The last couple of nights, he’s gotten out of bed because it was hurting so bad. The first night, he ended up sleeping on the floor, which he said was more comfortable. Last night he went and got in YD’s bed. He said this morning that he will probably sleep in YD’s bed tonight because the mattress is firmer than the one in our bedroom.
The one in the other bedroom, where he use to go sleep sometimes, is more firm also. He seems to be avoiding that room and bed though, I guess because that’s where his Dad use to sleep. He cleaned the room up, and there are new bed linens still in the packages, but he obviously doesn’t want to go in there now, and prefers to just use YD’s bed.
I guess I can just wash the new bed stuff myself and make the other bed up, and see what he does.
I almost wish he hadn’t changed the funeral from tomorrow. I am ready for that part to be over with too. I sure hope Baby Sister appreciates him changing it to try to accommodate her.
Nobody has said anything about a repast, that I know of. If people come over here after the burial, they’re gonna be hungry unless Mister’s family provides the food this time. I will NOT ask my family to bail us out again. Traditionally, when someone passes in our communities, the last thing the immediate family has to worry about is food. For themselves during the days leading to the funeral, and for the family gathering together. If nothing else, the family is going to have some fried chicken to eat lol.
Mister’s family is obviously different, and I’m okay with that. Just don’t expect us to provide food after the burial. My family did it last time, out of love for me, and like I already said, I’m not sending up the bat signal this time. Mister’s family can do what they said they would do last time, and didn’t follow through. Or I can cook for Mister and I, and his children. Mister’s friend brought us lunch yesterday and his wife text me later in the afternoon and said they were surprising Mister tomorrow by having a steak dinner delivered.
Anyway it’s been a somber, weird day.

Y'all I think I'm going with the KS townhouse. It's the highest rent, but it's in the best area and I'm getting a lot more for the money. It's just a year or two anyway until the market swings back around.

I think sometimes, it’s easy for people to take their spouses for granted and not realize or acknowledge all the things one spouse does to make life easier for the other, especially the small things. I’m glad your DH seems to be starting to notice how much you do for him and to keep your life together on track. Thank you so much for your prayers for Mister and I.
