Figured out where my $1,000/month retirement contribution is going. Turns out there's $60K in there. Useful.

I'm relaxing on the deck with coffee, the Sunday newspaper, and some crossword puzzles. I'll be in the backyard, doing some weeding this afternoon with the US Open airing on the tv in the tiki bar. I slept for a good 11h last night, waking up just once. yesterday was a fun-filled day that started with my alarm at 4am. that's way too early for having called it at almost midnight the night before, but so worth it. my friend K came down with a travelling nurse friend of hers. we did dinner Friday night, waking up early to grab a huge beach blanket and a chilled bottle of prosecco for the three of us to take in sunrise for my birthday tradition yesterday morning. then brunch, mini golf, and cocktails on the patio overlooking the marina before coming home to 'rescue' the pups and hang out here with a couple more cocktails and snacks, and just fun relaxing and talking. when K started yawning, they packed up and headed out for the ~1h drive back downtown. I was in bed around 8 last night lol... here's to 45. Happy Birthday, Chiver! Your celebration sounds perfect.

I finally got over it, but this morning slept in again till 10:30. I was up at 7:30 yesterday.
I have taken out trash, suitcases to the basement. Hubs wants to reduce my stash of supplies, I've heard that since covid so I'm out of laundry detergent with a pile of dirty clothes and bedding that needs washed. I did find a gallon of Woolite, but its not the heavy duty stuff I need. Will use it as I don't want to drive 12 miles to town and pay 10 prices for it. I'm going to order 4 containers from Amazon as theirs have a lot more pods in it and also gas X. Now I know I'm home as I have to drive and drive to get anything, sigh. I will go to the city at least 3 days this week as we have docs appointments so will make a list and pick up things. I'm going to try and put money back the next 3 months but also so we can have a nice Christmas.
Hubs is working on putting metal on a shed at the rental, he said we will try and sell it for 3 months than rent it if we can't. I figure it won't be on the market a week. He is just not understanding the lack of housing here I guess, If we overprice it of course it will not.
I got the last $200 rebate from the furnace people in Washington, cashed in $140 in change we had and added a 50 to it so have some rathole money. That's nice if I want something just for me. Also almost $500 in rewards money from Bank of America. So almost $900, whoopee!!

Today is packing some food for the trip to the shore house. And a few cooking implements so I can cook.
I also intend to swing by a home furniture store that delivers so that I can find a nice chair or lounger. I have a plan and I hope it works out.
I won't be able to pick up my vacuum until Friday, but I will make do with my handyvac for now.
I also intend to swing by HD and arrange a countertop person to come out and measure. 1x1 inch tile is NOT sanitary and I really dislike having it as my bathrooms' vanitly tops.
I need to level my new fridge too. I did not realize that there were no levelers just wheels and stops that can only go down so far.
Still in my jammies but I really need to change and start gathering things for the car.

Yesterday was the neighborhood block party. TD picked up the tables he borrowed from the club, and asked me to make something. I arrived with a big container of Parmesan crisps. I left about 1/4 of what I made at home for us.
It was a pretty good party, my crisps were well received, but what’s not to like about crispy cheese? It doesn’t take long to make them once you get an assembly line going. They do take a bit of grated cheese, but I cheat and buy the already grated cheese. I went through 3 8 oz packages. Super easy to make. Cut egg roll wrappers in half, corner to corner so you have triangles. Hardest part is separating these damn wrappers. Brush baking sheet with melted butter, brush top of wrapper with butter and sprinkle cheese on each one, maybe a tablespoon. I try to cover the whole wrapper. 425° 5 min. Cool on rack. I usually cycle 2 pans through, I have another pan ready to go in the minute one comes out. Best part is the spreads of cheese that fall onto the baking sheet and get crispy too.

Not exactly. I’ve only not known since October 2022. I changed employers in August 2022. I thought they opened a new account for the $1000/month. The previous account I can still get into. I Can see the HSA in there, but the 403(b) said contact management. It turns out it’s the same account but a different manager.

Looks like our smoker has bit the dust. TD was doing ribs today and it’s dead. I’m making potato salad.
Watching the round of 16 of the US Open.

I told myself with all this kid free time-off I would get at least one thing done each day. So far today I've accomplished nothing except finish the last season of Suits. That counts right? I did get multiple things done yesterday and it's hotter than hell outside. Ok, fine. I'm going to go work on the disaster that is my room. If I can get the bed cleared off that will be pretty big.

I did put out all the indoor autumn stuff, but it's upper 90's now so I'll put up the outdoor stuff tomorrow early. We really pared things back last year so it will only take a few minutes.

DH was filling out all the kindy paperwork for the missy. You know, tell me about your child, tell me about the day your child was born. The older I get, the more I find some of these activities to be tone deaf and impractical. Which is why DH filled out the paperwork. Otherwise, the special thing that I would have put down is DH almost missed the birth trying to scrounge up food. Or my obnoxious comments that the drs looked 15.
I also do not understand why we have to have (learning) goals for our kindergartner. I'd suggest not to eat the paste, but the kids don't use paste.
Thank goodness she is the last one.

I've been doing laundry, the sheets are dry and ready to put back on.
Hubs and I went to town and picked up a few items we needed, I forgot carrots. Not sure what dinner will be.
I did blow the dirt off the garage apron, sidewalk, and front porch. But I need to go pull weeds again, will just do it for a couple of hours this evening than quit. I need to change clothes and shoes. Any amount will be nice to get done.
I told hubs we need to buy a burial insurance policy for DD, so that will be in place for her in case, we aren't here. I need to do that and buy the stone for my great grandfathers grave too.

What is on your bed? I can't sleep with anything on my bed. I sleep with two dogs on my bed. Macy almost scalped me today. I laid next to her on the couch. At some point she decided to get off the couch and took my ponytail with her. I was hanging onto it, but she got the op half of me off the couch trying to get to the ground.
