Oh Pink. I am so sorry. That is so heartbreaking for Mister. Sending you both all the extra prayers.

I'm sorry that more pain and loss may be coming down the road for Mister and you. It's beyond unfair that Brother's health challenges are on the horizon for you both, but life is not fair at all. This is going to sound cold as a yak's ass in an Arctic winter, but Mister is so much more than his family of origin. It's not fair that his mother and father and brother chose not to care for their health despite the opportunities provided by today's medicine. But that path was their choice, not Mister's. Knowing what he knows (his mom and dad) and will at some point (Brother), he has an opportunity to make sure he breaks the cycle. He can do better by you, and by OD, YD, and Kiddo than his family did by him. It sucks and it will hurt, but I believe he has the strength and power, with you by his side, to be more than the sum of his genes. While we are often called upon to lament and even fix the outcome of our loved ones choices, we are not responsible for them.

TheOtherMe , did you see the football game this morning? I know that's not in your top rung of sports, but it's still an amazing win. No I will not be watching Colorado games because I don't like the coach. I did see the score and it sounded like it was an exciting game. I might feel more inclined to watch if the coach hadn't succeeded in getting his no talented daughter on the women's basketball team. Coach was hoping the hard work would force her to quit, but she's still on the team.

FUCK! A little birdie told me that Brother has visible physical signs that something is going on with his health. Signs that an organ is not functioning properly. He’s kept it hidden, Mister does not know. Brother is diabetic, like both of their parents were, and he’s not been taking care of himself. Mister and I both already knew he wasn’t taking care of himself. I can’t tell Mister, but when I see Brother again, I know what to look for if he doesn’t do a good job hiding it, and I will ask about it. It’s not something he can fake. That pushed me over the edge, into overwhelmed territory. This is beyond WAYYYY TOO MUCH! Shit.Shit.SHIT!!!!! Sorry about the possible next shoe drop. Did the little birdie let you know how bad it was? Hoping the damage can be reversed. The little birdie is not a Doctor and neither am I. But from what was described to me, in my uneducated opinion, it’s either kidney or heart issues.

I think everything that can be done today, has been done. Mister didn’t want to call his Mom’s sister, Aunt G and tell her, because he didn’t want to deal with all her wailing and crying. I offered to call her myself, but he didn’t want me to deal with it either lol. So he kept procrastinating.
His Dad’s sister, Aunt D, offered to drive to her house and tell her, but when I told Mister about that, he said NO, that’s too long of a drive. So I asked how he felt about Aunt D just calling her. He said that was okay. Aunt D kept calling but the phone was going straight to voicemail, so she called a family friend that lives in the same neighborhood as Aunt G, to go to her house, and call Aunt D when he got there. He did what she asked, and when he called Aunt D, she told Aunt G that Mr. Messy had passed.
Keep in mind that all these “elders” have known each other for many years, because Mister’s parents were high school sweethearts 50 years ago.
And Aunt D called me after it was done and said she was glad they did it that way because Mister didn’t need to hear how Aunt G was carrying on after she was told that her BIL died.
Aunt G called Mister’s phone, but I insisted he let me answer it, and he did.
Mister’s daughters still don’t know. Their Mom is going to them at their college in the morning, to tell them. Aunt D has been worried about them finding out before that, in some random kind of way, so when we were at the hospital earlier today, she had her children calling everybody she could think of, to tell them to NOT post anything about it on FB.
Mister’s children are a whole ‘nother level too. Their Grandparents were very present in their lives, and just like Mister and his brother lost both of their parents this year, their children also lost their grandparents who they were close to and had close, loving relationships with.

WHY DO I SWEAT SO DAMN MUCH!?!? Seriously, this is ridiculous. I was out working not even that hard and my hair is soaked like I just got out of the shower. I wasn't even sweaty outside because there was a nice breeze, it wasn't until I came in the house and sat down that I became drenched. I was going to skip going to Women's Health this year for an annual, but maybe I will and ask them if this is some kind of menopause thing. I don't get hot flashes and I still am as regular as ever on the monthlies, but something is up. If they tell you it is menopause thing then I started change of life when I was around 8. I just don't sweat anywhere except my head!! Drive me bonkers since I have naturally curly/wavy hair which just gets curlier when wet. But on the upside I never looked like a drowned rat when my hair gets wet if I get caught in the rain! Oh and I never had hot flashes either so there's that!! This describes me too, at 65. But I have straight hair and quite often look like a drowned rat, even when it's not raining. 😕

Y’ALL! I don’t know what it is with these hummingbirds showing up when they do. I am sitting in the shade in the garage with the door up, because I’m over the deck after that worm fell out the tree on me. A hummingbird just flew a few inches inside the entrance of the garage and as usual, I thought it was a huge bug at first lol. It paused, and flew back out and off to the side of the garage door. This is the first summer since we moved here, that I don’t have a lot of flowers on my deck. And before the last few weeks, or whenever I started talking about them, I’d only ever seen 1 for sure, maybe 2, period. And now, in the garage?! I'm glad it paused long enough, so you knew it wasn't a bug. I don't know what the significance of them coming to you is, but I think there is one. I think whatever it is, it's a good thing. To bring you comfort, or joy. Maybe your grandmother?

I think it's someone who you care about deeply and who also cares about you. I think she sees your pain and struggles, so she wants to remind you that someone loves you and cares. To bring a bright spot to your day and take your focus off the negative, if only for a moment. She seems to show up when things are at their worst. To give you that reminder, when you need it most. ❤ Kind of like a hug. I'm glad for that. JMO I'm certainly no expert. I'm surprised that you thought of her, as well!

Virtual hugs to everyone that needs or wants one. I got a new fridge and microwave delivered today! I am back at the condo but will be heading out to the shore house tomorrow. Roofer is coming Monday to do everything and I have the furnace people replacing the ruined ducting on Wed & Thurs. So I will be staying for a a few days again. I really need to find a comfy chair that I can use to snuggle and relax in. Sitting in lawn chairs and barstools are not working long term. I was able to put together 1 twin bed and I managed to paint the MB walk in closet and the coat closet while I was there. There are several areas that a professional painter will have to do just on how the house is with the ceilings and bath layout. But 2 bedrooms should be good for me to handle. Electrician came out and managed to get some of my things done and he will be back at the end of the month to finish up. Looking forward to actually cooking with the new stove.

Hello everyone! I am posting without catching up. I pretty much began my day shopping on line for a dress. Then I decided to check my closet. I decided I have 2 dresses I can wear to the wedding we will attend in 3 weeks. I decided to throw in wash b/c high % of Polyester in both. They came out very nice.
I cleaned my kitchen this am, then DS called and said he was finally going to take the dresser from his old bedroom. So, that meant I needed to move the accumulation of paperwork off my dining room table. Got that done and DD came home & started telling me about her first day back in the operation with call outs and shift supervisors filling in w/o being fully trained. I nearly missed by window to get Mom to church.
Came home, walked dogs, fed rabbits, and DH had installed the switch that can control our outdoor lights from Alexa/my phone with Smart Things app. I had to add it into network. Was able to tell it to turn on at sunset, off at midnight. We will also be able to tell Alexa to Turn on the pillar lights. We had a timer switch on it before, but it was not a “smart switch”. This is a Leviton switch and I bought it at home depot or lowes.
Have to pull towels from dryer, so I can move DD’s uniforms to dryer.
Tomorrow I have a nail appt at 10 am.

I have gas so bad tonight, its about to kill me or feel like it is. I have searched this place for gas X. I keep those pills everywhere but have none I can find tonight. Hubs gave me an antacid which has helped a bit, but I need to get rid of this. I feel like I'm going to upchuck. and break out in a cold sweat. Went to bed early cause I was so tired, now I'm up with no end in sight. I hate nights like this.

Dsis is sick so no flooring this weekend. That's exciting but I'm panicked on when we'll get it done since I dont have a lot of time between now and my surgery. Maybe her and the roommate will finish it. Probably wishful thinking.
I'm spending my new found free time on: cleaning and organizing, CE, my taxes, and looking at some side hustles. Also gym and I told ds that I would dm for our family d&d group so he gets some more player time. So I need to prep for that.

I worked in the yard yesterday, weeding and trimming, and cleaned the bathrooms. So far today, it's breakfast, a load of laundry, and floors mopped. In a bit I'll start the annual pumpkin-ing as we brought home the fall stuff in from the storage locker. Yesterday I replaced all the summer candles with autumn scents so we smell like a cross between pumpkin and apple pies baking and leaves burning

I'm relaxing on the deck with coffee, the Sunday newspaper, and some crossword puzzles. I'll be in the backyard, doing some weeding this afternoon with the US Open airing on the tv in the tiki bar. I slept for a good 11h last night, waking up just once. yesterday was a fun-filled day that started with my alarm at 4am. that's way too early for having called it at almost midnight the night before, but so worth it. my friend K came down with a travelling nurse friend of hers. we did dinner Friday night, waking up early to grab a huge beach blanket and a chilled bottle of prosecco for the three of us to take in sunrise for my birthday tradition yesterday morning. then brunch, mini golf, and cocktails on the patio overlooking the marina before coming home to 'rescue' the pups and hang out here with a couple more cocktails and snacks, and just fun relaxing and talking. when K started yawning, they packed up and headed out for the ~1h drive back downtown. I was in bed around 8 last night lol... here's to 45.

We have been invited to our new Afgahni(sp?) neighbors house for dinner tonight.
DH has been mowing their lawn for them and made friends. They wanted to meet me too.
Barely speak any English. I'm going to see if I can get Google translate to work.
We started using that with my dad's new neighbors. They are Cuban. DH speaks some Spanish but that tool really helps.
Both neighbors have commented on how nice we are. Considering the political climate that makes me sad. Common courtesy costs nothing.
I like our neighborhood is becoming more diverse. I miss the university environment I'm tired of living in mayo land. New company is better than my old one but still primarily white Midwesterners. It gets boring I don't get why some people prefer living in a bubble.

Probably 95% of my cousins prefer living in their white bubble.
I get what you are saying.
