Logged in this morning to find an email asking for me to be given a $500 bonus because I'm so helpful. That's nice. Then T2 called and said he car is making a weird noise. Great. Bet it will be a $500 fix. I hate it here.

I know it's wrong in many ways, but sometimes it's hard not to get a little bit of a giggle when self-inflicted damages bite someone who puts a LOT of energy into convincing folks how smart they are about everything under the stars. I school people for sport. It's my jam. Watching them do it to themselves is even better.

I met up with my jiu jitsu coach for a lunch session because we keep getting rained out in the evening and that was awesome. Perfect weather day, and great to get out of the office for a bit, plus work on it before I feel beat down in the evenings. I don't know how close he lives and his work schedule takes him all over, but hopefully we can make that work more often.

Eating lunch and listening to the rain. Could you send some of that rain here? Puh-leeze? We got a bit of rain on the 4th of July, but we're still "officially" in a drought.

Had diarrhea all night off and on. Had to end up with some of DD's depends, gross. I know I ate too much but this is the second time, I'm thinking its the ozempic?? Yet goes from one extreme to another. They told me I could reduce the dosage anytime so I have this time. That didn't help, maybe will later, I don't know. But all the burping, belching, and gas pains are not something I'm going to live with. If it's that may have to stop it. NO problem for DD at least not yet. I am really confused by your post. When you visited WA earlier this year, you complained about these same symptoms and said it was a reaction to the oil McDonald's uses for the fries. Just 2 weeks ago, you said these same symptoms resulted from needing to have your esophagus stretched. This past week, you said it was a result of the antibiotics you took for the UTI, and then, sensitivity to an unknown ingredient in your DIL's salad. And now you think it's the Ozempic? It seems like, with all the doctors you see, all the medications you take, and the jaw-dropping amount you report spending for medical care, you could get a definitive diagnosis and treatment plan. I hope your symptoms improve soon - it's bound to be hard keeping up with an active child when you're in pain and tied to the bathroom whether you stay in WA or go back home. Summer fairs and festivals aren't much fun if all you see is the Port-A-Potties.

Drug interactions are a strong possibility. And stop starting/stopping and adjusting doses on your own! That could also be a major contributor.

As a complete layperson, I have a question about thyroid supplements. I think I understand the role our thyroid plays as a sort of master switch for our metabolism. Could low thyroid, whether from a previously undiagnosed condition like Daisylu, or from not taking one's thyroid supplement for a long period like CG, affect how your body metabolizes other meds? If your body slows down processing, can meds potentially accumulate in the body or not be processed in a manner that lets the body access them as intended?

I commented on that earlier this week, and was confused by her answer. I really hope, with how organized she is about finances, that she's as organized with all her meds and doses, AND honest with her dr about what she's actually doing. drug interactions can be fatal in some cases.

Yes, hearing someone say they forgot to take a significant daily medication (thyroid supplement) for a period of many days or perhaps weeks, is concerning. Many seniors who see a number of different doctors experience interactions. If one consistently utilizes the same pharmacy for all meds, a good pharmacist may sometimes flag possible interactions. But, if you get some things filled at WalMart, some at CVS, and others at various online pharmacies, a LOT can fall through the cracks.

My grandmother's death was in part due to drug interactions. My parents actually had a malpractice case against her primary care physician if they had chosen to pursue it. At the time they settled for dropping all the bills but in hindsight my mom wished she had gone for blood. My MIL messed around a lot with her medications too. She was always on something and was playing around with not taking them as prescribed. I am hard pressed to believe that that didn't at least partly contribute to a lot of her health issues. I don't mess around with drug interactions. I will even consult about OTC medication now that I am on an anti-depressant. Found out Nyquil and most cough medicines are a no no if you are on anti-depressants. This was after my dumb ass husband nearly gave himself a heart attack doing exactly that.

You are wise because a lot of folks assume that OTC products including mineral and herbal supplements are magically exempt for the rules of interaction. They are not. Too many of my older friends with more $$ than sense keep looking for the fountain of youth by ordering this or that magic thing online, guaranteed to improve their memory, their sex drive, their skin tone, whatever. God alone knows what's in the pills in what quantity, much less how it will interact with other stuff.

One of the things Ozempic does is slow down moving the food along. If you eat too much, I would think your body would do what it has to remove the excess bulk.
My DBS is pretty nauseous and “loose” the first few days after her shot. If she isn’t careful about how much fat she consumes, she might as well move into the bathroom. A thin layer of peanut butter and skim milk cheese on toast is no longer a reasonable option

The OP mentioned having cheese and crackers, deviled eggs, various dips, salad, potatoes, corn, steak, cake and assorted cookies on July 4. My digestive system would not respond well to that, and I am not even on Ozempic or any semaglutide.

I'm making a few more arrangements for a vacation DH and I are taking next week. It's a minor compared to what a lot of you do, but for us it's a lot.
We're going in an airplane!
Do any of you have a rental car company preference? I've personally rented one car in the last 20 years. I've done it a few times with work, but I didn't make the arrangements or spend the money.

I've only ever booked Hertz and Avis, with corporate accounts for both. I'd pay for my own travel, but I was using the "frequent flier" account set up under corporate contracts. when I was travelling under age 25, Hertz was AMAZING! since then, I find them overpriced most of the time. I have no major complaints about Avis, except that if your airplane is bringing you to PHL, then please sign up for an Avis account so you can get the VIP treatment of having your name on the board and keys in the car. otherwise, you're going to wait in a rental line that would rival some Greek myth punishments.

One. More. Day. I start the closing process tomorrow at 4 o'clock when I officially sell my house.
I will have the first load in the car when I head to the closing attorney's office tomorrow. It is such a late start, but I am determined to get some of this out of my living room as soon as possible.

Budget has annoyed me several times. I have accounts with Enterprise and Hertz. I have Five Star status with Hertz and I will pay a slight premium to skip the line and find my name on the board and go. The Enterprise self check in kiosks at Orlando last time did not like my driver's license no matter which way I tried to scan it.
I think they all have the same hours now but I have also paid slightly more for Hertz because they were open later at MCO.

CG, did any doctor tell you which foods to avoid while taking Ozempic? The only thing you're not doing is drinking alcohol. Yes, I know....you don't want to have to cook separate meals for yourself, your DD and your husband. In that case, I suggest you stock up on Depends. www.goodrx.com/well-being/diet-nutrition/ozempic-foods-to-avoid

Annoyed. Etsy is saying my package was delivered.
The address is in South Carolina. Not even close.
I double checked my address is correct according to Etsy.
So I filed a claim to find out WTF is going on. According to the tracking information it went from Texas to Georgia and took a field trip to SC where it's now in a postal locker reporting as me having received it.
Urgh.

But, if you get some things filled at WalMart, some at CVS, and others at various online pharmacies, a LOT can fall through the cracks. My insurance company actually contacted me about a medicine. I take Amitriptyline on an as needed basis when my hands and arms start acting up at night. That is off label use, since it’s actually an antidepressant. So they wanted to know why I wasn’t refilling the prescription regularly. They were satisfied when I said I only take it as needed for nerve pain. When I filled the prescription for an antidepressant my PCP wanted me to take, I couldn’t pick it up until I talked to the pharmacist, who was concerned about taking it when I was already taking the Amitriptyline could cause seratonin syndrome, which can be very serious. So yes, ime, it does help when all your prescriptions are at the same pharmacy. Pharmacists seem to be much more knowledgeable than most Doctors about drug interactions. I am really hesitant to take the Amitriptyline anymore since I recently discovered that it’s the reason I have so much trouble getting up for work in time. Fortunately, the nerve pain during the night hasn’t been happening often lately, and I haven’t needed to take it much. For a while now, at least a year, I’ve been afraid I might end up having to take meds for high blood pressure. My blood pressure was high every time I went to any kind of doctor. A couple of times it was so hight that the nurses asked me if I was taking meds for it and seemed surprised when I said no. But the last few times I’ve had it taken in a Doctor’s office, including today, it’s been back in the normal range, thank goodness. Maybe it was so high because of all the stuff I had going on, idk.

I don't travel much any more but two of my three nephews have arrived at their destinations to have no car available for their reservation. One was using a business account and the other his personal account. The one using the personal account also was going to be charged a late fee because their flight was late. He went to another company and paid more just to have a car. The one using the business account also ended up paying a higher cost for a pick up, which is not what he wanted to be driving for business and calling on clients. That was with Hertz. Apparently a lot of rental car companies disposed of inventories during Covid when people weren't traveling and haven't replenished their stock yet.

I'm delighted that you have responsible insurance reps, pharmacists and doctors to guide you away from potential interactions, and are self-aware about your healthcare. There will always be folks who are less than honest with their healthcare providers and self-medicate. It's sad to see, but I guess some folks will choose to go that route

I'm sitting out on the deck, working in some particular applications. I've been logged in for about 2h already, and I just noticed that I haven't opened Outlook. oops. lol.... luckily there wasn't anything super HOT in there. mooch texted a little while ago to let me know he was on his way. he's finishing up the dog wash station in the outdoor shower, and piping in a sink for the tiki bar today. I didn't realize he took this week off from his regular job, but that works. yay! ETA: boo. sink may not be getting installed today. apparently I bought a super cheapo POS. thanks, Amazon. this will be getting returned. but at least he's putting in the PEX piping from the water heater in the shed. when my am calls are over, we're going to head out to Home Depot and see what they have in stock. today's going to be expensive, I see. Sorry about the expense, but happy it's getting done! And that you can return to the sink to Amazon. Is your doggy pool finished now? Do the pups love it?

I just haven't filled it yet this year after moving it, b/c I don't have the dog wash station out back yet. believe me, I'm missing it, too.

Gus got trimmed tonight. He was a shit...again. But at least it was a cool day and the farrier didn't leave pissed off like last time. He wants to see him again in another 4-5 weeks which seems so soon.

I know that 4-5 weeks is another financial hit for you, but hopefully this will see the worst of the Amish damage corrected so he'll be more comfortable
