We got 1.5 inches of rain in about an hour last night. The ground is so hard that it doesn't look like much of it soaked in. Sump pump ran during the storm but isn't running this morning.
There was wind along with rain, thunder and lightning. No power outages. Some of the corn is flat this morning, adding insult to injury.
My one overgrown weed is flat and that is a good thing.
It's quite dark outside this morning so maybe we will get a bit more rain. I have the light on like it's the dead of winter.
Certainly wasn't enough to turn the grass green. Saw a lot of standing water. That's because the ground is so hard.

No one is showing up today for this sale. We had a decent amount of people yesterday. This is going to be a long day.

The missy and I finished putting her Lego Encanto house together. She does love playing with it though, which makes it worth it. 4
DS was sleeping in his room, so I couldn't get in there. I'm a little grr right now.

Been a busy morning. Got out early to try and finish the weeding project. Almost, but even I have to give up when the heat and my back say so. Fixed breakfast, cleaned the bathrooms, ran the dishwasher and the laundry. I will be driving south to see my niece and her BF next Saturday, as they are coming into town for her birthday. I am skipping the stupid expensive Saturday night dinner and even more stupid expensive Sunday brunch and taking them to a NY-style deli for a late breakfast instead. That Saturday night dinner is easily $100+ per person (a very fine steakhouse) and Sunday brunch is $225 per person. And both places are really noisy. I'll pass.

Well darn, this is not good. I went to the bathroom this morning and have blood from the urine area, very pale but there. Thought I had seen something earlier and here I am getting ready to leave Tuesday. Think I will go to the minor ER today in the city. Have you eaten beets?

Squirrel ate most of my parsley and dill plants early this morning. They were on deck outside the kitchen . I’ve grown parsley and dill for years there with no problems. Moved the planter with the remnants of roots and a few stems with leaves to the small upstairs deck. Tomato, strawberry and now these are on that deck. Guess squirrel could climb tree and take a big leap to it? Haven’t seen the little bugger today. If I do no more trying to scare him, I’ll try to hit him with a stone.

That’s an outrageous price for brunch. Like the NY deli better

That’s an outrageous price for brunch. Like the NY deli better It's The Breakers on Palm Beach. So of course it's outrageous due to the setting and the history. I mean, the place is just gorgeous. But you do pay for that, as well as all the food you don't stand a chance in hell of eating. How much shrimp and lobster can a person handle at one sitting? OK, a lot. But that much to make it worthwhile?

I like the cookbook I just bought.
It's value to me is it'll be awesome for days I'm lazy and trying to talk myself into fast food. No more than 6 ingredients and only 4 or less cooking steps.
I have probably 99% of all the ingredients in the house most of the time and it gives me ideas to use stuff up.
It'll be real handy come school and dance when I get overwhelmed and executive dysfunction kicks in.

I don't sleep so well at night these days. So I'm tired and have to drive 30 miles away to go to a funeral. My daughter won't be there: her kids have Covid.
My ex and his wife will be, though!

I am showered, scrubbed, shaved, exfoliated and moisturized. I painted my face and went to Sam's. I got one of those trays with mozzarella wrapped in different meats. I was kinda hungry when I got back. I may or may not have gorged on that along with some watermelon Macy and I have been working on. Thinking of having a margarita. Today's events are way better than yesterday's.

we are back. didn't stay long, it was crowded and Punk was huffing and puffing. I know, kid, we need to get back to that on the daily again.
anyway, I'm parked out back watching the Sox game on the big screen, cast from my phone streaming. I've got a bottle of pinot gris hanging out in a huge bowl of ice/water and I'm enjoying a chilled glass while I catch up in here. happy Sunday!

I keep liking tik tok videos but then I have to wade through them to get to what I want. A book would be easier. If you keep making me buy cookbooks, I may need a bookshelf in my kitchen.

Oh wise YM what does it mean when you dream you meet Micheal J Fox in a bowling alley and he tells you that he used to go to your high school? It means you need to watch newer movies or pretty soon you will be talking about dot matrix printers

Pride parade was good. Met up with good friends. DC identifies as non binary so coming into their own and I love seeing them feel so confident. So, so proud of ds for choosing to come to the parade with us when he had a legitimate out if he wanted it. They're both just good, fun kids that I love hanging out with.

I took an OTC pill to help the urgency and went to the minor ER in the city, shot most of the day doing that and getting pills. I found out they couldn't test the urine because of the pills I took as they look at the color. I had no idea as I rarely have UTI's. So NP prescribed sulfa drugs, thank goodness. Before I left there was blood in the urine and some small blood clots. He said the pain I had the other day may have been the beginning as I guess it takes a bit to get blood in the urine. I didn't feel symptoms till 7:30 this morning though, so maybe I will get better by Tuesday afternoon.
Where I was and north of that area there were severe weather warnings and off and on tornado warnings so got out of there fast.
Came to our little town and got scrips filled, picked up one on the way to the city. What a day, need to go down and get a suitcase or two and start packing, I'm running out of time, did not need this today.
But one good thing, DD and I both got our new passports yesterday, so we are good for 10 more years, Yah, Rah!
It is horribly hot here 94 out and 45% humidity. Miserable out there.

I hope you have a chance to get up to Vancouver this summer-the little bit of the city we saw on the way to the airport was gorgeous and I'm told their botanical gardens are one of the best in the world. When we were leaving Ketchikan AK I saw a sign that it was only a 90-minute flight from Seattle so that's another close destination from WA, although you don't need a passport for that ETA to add: And glad you're getting the UTI under control too. Sort of odd you and DD both got UTI's within a couple of weeks of each other

Is there a division of wildlife, or rangers there, he can call and ask for advice?

Slow day. I've walked across the street with DH to a blooms fair that really didn't offer much. Then, made ham sandwiches for lunch, cleaned the bathroom, cleaned pollen off the front porch table, window sills and mailbox, threw in a load of laundry and worked more on my web site.
We'll be off soon, back to the beach for a stroll, then a visit to our favorite ice cream source for a Sunday sundae for me, a pup cup for Franklin the Dog and a frappe for DH. Then, home to watch an episode of Astrid. It's in French with subtitles so requires attention be paid to the screen.
Planning this summer's travels, too. To Maine this weekend after the fair on Saturday, then to Maryland a few weeks later to work with DD on getting packed to move and bring back a car load of her stuff. I have a conference I'm attending in Virginia in August--DH is coming with--to be followed by the final move of DD. Will probably go to Maine again Labor Day weekend. Then to New Mexico in September to see old friends, and drive after to Denver to visit DS before flying home. That should do it.

Nope, haven't eaten any beets, I'm aware of what they do. I started the antibiotics so think I will be better in a day or so. Need to drink lots of water.

Since you take antibiotics from time to time, I'm sure you know to load up on the yogurt and other probiotics to avoid the diarrhea they usually produce. Those pills can't distinguish between the bad bacteria and the good ones in our gut.

Just enjoying the day doing absolutely nothing but rocking in my wooden glider. It's sunny with a light breeze, 75 degrees. Perfect western Washington state weather.
