Do you need to buy this or just rub a stainless steel bowl if you have one?

Bean29 - my mother was told she has to have a driver after cataract surgery. All 4 of them. I am not actualy sure if it is Cataract or something else. My brother is driving her, they told her she could drive home after, but Brother intended to drive her home and drive her back for follow up appointment the next day, but he has decided that she need to quit driving. She has early stage Dementia or Alzheimer's, and he is afraid if she gets confused, she might get in an accident.

your link brings me back to your post, daisy. Me too. And I was curious since onions and garlic stick with me (what seems like) forever. And the only thing that smell is good for is keeping Dracula at bay I fixed it. I am a garlic fiend and the metal soap bar works fantastically at taking the smell away. You just rub it between your hands under running water. It usually takes less than 30 seconds and the smell is gone!

Do you need to buy this or just rub a stainless steel bowl if you have one? I was going to ask the same thing. I have stainless steel bowls and pots. I will try it after grapes.

At the store today I looked at beef tongue. A good-sized one was $45 I did not buy it.

WOW! I like them too. I have bought them at the amish butcher for $2 or $3. They apparently don't realize how trendy they are. They are almost always out of liver, tongue, and heart, before we go again, going to order some.

Hi, YMers! First day at work was fine, since it was just shadowing and doing elearnings. The company seems to think I have tons of experience and of course my certification, they were so happy to have me join. Then the owner called and discussed setting me up as a regional clinical manager when they expand in the area. Yikes! My resume was ok but I didn’t embellish anything or pump myself up. I guess I need to build up my own confidence, I’m my own worst critic.

I feel you on being your own worst critic, mamasita. my one colleague that I vent to, the guy that gave me a crash course in how to do the tasks we trained 8 people to take over from us a year later? when I vent that I feel like an idiot half the time for not knowing something I was never trained on, he reminds me how resilient I've been and willing to try anything that gets thrown at me. he's a good egg.
right now, I'm doing some pup food prep with a cocktail on the counter next to my cutting board. tonight I'm going to pull together at least all the clothes I need to pack. since I think I'm going the duffle bag route, I won't actually pack til tomorrow when I bury the toiletries and hair dryer/flat iron in the middle after I use the hair dryer/flat iron. straightened hair will travel better with a 3am alarm to get myself to the bus and airport for a 6:48am boarding time on Wednesday. woof.

NJ goes plastic bag free in grocery stores effective May 4th, although one of the ones I go to had no plastic bags on Sunday. Maybe they ran out early? My biggest concern is buying fresh meat. I wonder if we will get small bags to wrap fresh meat and poultry in?
How are NJ posters dealing with this and anyone elsewhere who has already been through it?

I'm not in NJ, so what I'm about to say may be different. Cape Cod went plastic-free a few years back. however, plastic bags are still available in the produce department (because that's somehow different...?) so you can still grab a bag on your way through produce to the meat counter.

We've been no plastic bags for a while in my county and the state went over to it a few months ago. I've noticed the small clear plastic bags are still in the meat section of the store so you could wrap them in that and then put it in a canvas bag to go home. I have one bag I dedicate to meat and I wash it every few uses. It's really easy once you get used to it.

There will still be fresh produce bags for loose produce here as well. Thanks, I might do that.

Dammit. I forgot about one conflict for job #2 when I signed up for the sock knitting class. I may have to cancel the class.

I use reusable mesh bags for produce and a dedicated reusable bag for meat. I love curbside pick up but rarely use it because they go crazy on plastic. Apples, bananas, kiwis, onions, potatoes do not need to be in a plastic produce bag, to be packed into in another plastic bag. I don't think any produce needs to be in 2 plastic bags, but certainly not ones with built in wrappers.

Resting my back now. Dh is handling dinner. I had an incident at work that I really wanted to vent about with dh. And I did, but he also always has issues. I'm not trying to win the suffering Olympics. Dh is commiserating to offer support in his own way. It just wasn't what I needed/wanted tonight.
So far I have more steps in than the dog does. We'll get him out tonight, but I really need to look for a dog walker until we get back to normal.

OD came home from college, maybe Friday. She is here at our house now, holed up in YD’s bedroom, because YD is supposed to be doing her hair. She has made it clear that the only reason she is here right now, is to get her hair done.
I don’t like that. She can feel however she feels about me, but I do not like her mistreating Mister. He asked and tried to spend time with her the last time she was home, and she would not cooperate.
But she could text him and ask him for money, while she was refusing to come see him or even meet him somewhere else to spend some time with him.
Imma have to pray on this. Because I REALLY do not like how she’s been treating him lately, but I also don’t want to overstep boundaries. But no matter how I twist and turn trying to look at it from different angles, I don’t like how she’s been treating him. I’d rather she be an asshole with me, than for her to mistreat him, when she and I both know he would move heaven and earth for her.
I guess the way she’s been acting these last few months have been his punishment. But it’s funny how she moved differently over winter break, when they said their Mom didn’t have anywhere for them to sleep where she lived, so OD stayed here over that break from school.
Anyway, with all the backstory and current if’s and and’s, I don’t care. Mister is not a perfect Dad, but he deserves to be treated better than he has been lately. I’m not saying that just because I’m his girlfriend……. over 2 decades of being single, I’ve cut loose several men that I didn’t think were treating their children well, regardless of how they treated me. I actually thought less of those men for trying to woo me and being willing to spend money on me, when they weren’t taking good care of their own CHILDREN, by being present in their lives AND financially supporting them.
Mister is not a perfect Dad, most parents aren’t perfect parents……. babies don’t come with a guide tailored to the baby and their specific needs. But one thing I DO know is that Mister loves all his children and will do anything he can for them. AND he’s willing to put his money where his mouth is when it comes to taking care of his children.
I know that parents and children don’t always get along or see things the same way. I’m cool with that too. I’ve been there and done that with my own children. But don’t treat a man that is really trying to be a good Dad and has history to prove that it’s important to him, like a piece of shit that doesn’t care about his children.
That has been the bottom line for more than a few years now, since I’ve been with Mister. There is the idea that he shouldn’t be trying to have a serious relationship with me (or anyone) until his teens are adults. His Mom actually said that to him a few years ago, that he should wait until the teens are adults to entertain the idea of having a serious relationship.
I am just hush now.

Are you doing another music cruise? no. this is a land festival at a single bar venue on the panhandle of FL, but focused on past cruise artists and cruise passengers. the charity focus is one that funds childhood cancers. I've been watching the RB posts for this event for over a decade, and now I finally get to go #drinkforthekids. 3rd period is about to start in the Bruins game, and I think I'm going to set myself up to mirror the phone from bed. both pups are finally actually PTFO. Punk had been fighting sleep since we've been home from daycare.

Need to buy crickets tomorrow. Crestie the crested gecko attacked the gray felt glove and tried to eat it. Really hope he did not ingest the small bit he managed to rip off.

So ends another day. I'm tired. I've made it through all the major tasks for today. Need to remember next time I'm in a grocery store: baking powder. Without it, couldn't make biscuits for the strawberry shortake. Used pound cake instead.

I live in a purple state, with Red Gerrymandering. I quipped to my husband about an hour ago that based on leaked news, I guess I'll be encouraging my girls to move to a true blue state right after HS. I can't even find out if I can post on the politics section. It's a hot button issue.
