I heard on XM actually about seniors at a high school in my state listing the school for sale on Zillow. The listing stated all 15 bathrooms had sewage issues. Lol. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I just went through jewelry boxes. I just have a few pieces of good jewelry, would love to have some but never would shell out the money and where would I wear it? But I have lots of costume jewelry and some pretty nice, I got rid of 2 small bags of stuff and found a lot of earrings without mates and just old ones, plus ones I don't wear. Some went in the trash, some are going to good will. So I cleaned out a bunch of small boxes and combined them. And I got rid of more watches, will eventually all but 1 or 2 good ones. I have a box of stuff in my closet I'm going through also. Hubs and I are both getting rid of things bit by bit. Some sheets going to. I actually have empty spots in some of my cabinets now. And my closet isn't stuffed.
Found a brand new pair of earrings to match my lavender skirt and top.
For some reason my sweeper skipped the office area and left cat fur in there so I started it up again in that room. Will mess up its routine I suppose.

Found an online excel spreadsheet linked from the bogleheads wiki. Now I just have to find the patience to enter in the stupid numbers I think that’s probably better than saving and tweaking a play copy of turbotax bc I can fiddle with the formulas directly to make versions that project different years and different tax rules. Will still try to find a real live CPA to talk to but the tax season grace period just stretched out the busy season for them, I think. I did finally roll my old dormant HSA over to Fidelity. Logging in to get the old account number involved an account lock, forced password reset despite having the correct one, and four separate security codes. Jerks.

Getting ready to listen to a presentation on freight brokers. I've only written the trucking companies before, but they write a lot of brokers here. In case anyone was wondering, I'm a nerd. It's actually why I do this job. 23 years in and I still learn new things all the time.

I have less than two minutes to answer each interview question for my first interview coming up.
I'll file that under things that make me go hmmmm
I am horrible at interviewing. And I learned recently that speed of answering is most important to a lot of interviewers, not necessarily what you say. I slay interviews. Probably because of my sales background. That's basically what an interview is, you selling yourself.

psst....Dory wasn't a whale. she was a super colorful fish I know, I was referencing Dory "talking" to the whales. I had actually forgotten about that until I read this post. in other related stories - my sister and I went out on Black Friday when Finding Nemo was new to home video in whatever format. she was looking for a laptop, but not a doorbuster. so we hung back and wandered in after the blast crowd. the crew in the tv area (think, floor model big screens, it was that long ago. I mean, Circuit City...) had queued up the video feed to all of the tvs to the "MINE! MINE! MINE!" seagull scene. my sister and I stopped dead in our tracks and hurt ourselves laughing at that..... the crew was hugely appreciative, and told us we were the only ones that had noticed the loop. lol....

After the great day I had yesterday, guess what happened last night. Back and forth to the bathroom because I’m feeling that pressure again. I swear! It’s not as bad as it was last Friday, but it’s still pretty uncomfortable. I called my PCP, and thank God she had an opening this afternoon. So my stomach starts to improve, and now I have the UTI from hell. Fuck me. Anyway, yesterday I ran out of charcoal when the pork butt still needed to cook for a couple more hours, so I finished it in the oven. By the time it was done, around 8:30, I was over it and ready to go to bed, so I told Mister it was going to have to be dinner for today because I wasn’t cooking the sides. I gave him the sacrificial smoke sausage I’d put on the grill to eat for dinner. Don’t fuss, but I didn’t eat anything. I just went to bed, I was pooped. When we unwrapped it, Mister said he felt like Boy must feel when Mister is fixing his food lol. He’d already tasted it and wanted to dig in. So I decided to see if I could shred the edges and just leave the middle to slice today. Man, the edges practically fell apart, it was so tender and juicy. Mister was nibbling as I was pulling it. He ranted and raved about how tender and delicious it was. I dipped a couple small pieces in the sauce I’d made. The sauce had calmed down, and Mister raved over it too. The funny thing was, I couldn’t taste any of the seasoning he was raving about, or even the sauce. I told him my taste buds must have rebelled after I set them on fire trying to make that sauce that had my nose running like a faucet for a while. So I had to just take his word for it that it tasted very good. Mister talked about that pork until we went to sleep lol. He said he couldn’t wait to get off work today to have dinner. I’m pretty proud of myself since it came out so tender and he liked it so much, especially since it was my first time cooking one, ever. I learned a lot about what to do next time to make things go smoother and possibly make it taste even better, even though Mister says “better” is impossible. When you see your doctor, have them do a culture and sensitivity on a sample. This is 2 antibiotics that haven’t cleared it up, and while they will likely give you a third one, if it doesn’t work they’ll have the info from your culture and sensitivity (because these results can take several days to a week). Congrats on the roast! Do you remember what you did?

I no longer have access to tax planning software but it generally is in the packages CPAs buy. You can do all kinds of what if scenarios in it. Do you have any software names? I’m guessing the full ones would be too expensive but I’d be interested to poke around to see if there’s a single-user option or even a trial. The last one I used was Lacerte. It's a very complex tax software.

Quiet day today. I cooked my head with the last batch of dye I brought. When done, I tossed my old stained t shirt, the cheapie towel I bought and the bag of supplies I brought. That’s a little more room available. Filled out Canadian immigration form and delivered it late. I didn’t read the instructions until 50 min after it was due. Whoops! I wasn’t the only one. Had the harass guest services about our airport transport. As part of the world cruise, it was supposed to be included. The stupid computers didn’t link the WC itinerary to the current one, so the other 4 couples likely got forms to fill out to pay for transport too. Just stupid admin stuff to deal with. I went online and according to Delta’s web site, we can fly with 3 x 70 lb bags…..each. Our bags went out at 50 lbs, there is no doubt in my mind they’ll be going back at 70 lbs! We have 4 bags total, luckily all on wheels. Someone’s gonna get a hernia hefting those around. We still have 6 bottles of wine to drink. We will be bringing one to dinner with us tonight. 5 days left.

woof. my last "call" finally ended, a half hour over time. the quotes are b/c the CMO won't update their Teams app, and theres' no call-in number. so I'm limited to chat, which was mostly ignored. I ended up directly texting my account manager, and she brought up my comments (made in real-time to discussion) when there was airspace to do so. grr....this is one of those things that I'm not sure if I'm more annoyed that the meeting was scheduled after I had concert tix and couldn't go, or at myself for giving a shit if I'm leaving at the end of the summer b/c of the in-person mandate.
anyway, back outside with a cocktail to finish up the PP slides. it will be nice to get my mouse back lol.... I only brought the laptop back inside to plug in when I grabbed my keys for the grocery run between meetings. I came in hot at dial-in time at 3, so I've been stuck inside. so over this week....shocker.

Well my urine sample today didn’t show any of the normal signs of a UTI, but there is still microscopic amounts of blood in my urine. She said either of the antibiotics I took should’ve cleared up the infection anyway, and especially since I took both.
So she’s sending the sample to a lab, and prescribed Cipro in the meantime. When the NP I went to at first got the results from the urine sample I gave then, she called and said the antibiotic she’d given me should work for bacteria that was present.
So if it’s not still an infection, what’s cause the symptoms now, and why is there still blood in my urine? I’m scared and I cried all the way home and still keep crying off and on.
Before I saw the Doctor, I asked the nurse how much I weighed the last time I was there so I could compare it to what I weighed on their scale today. The last time I was there was in March, and I’ve lost 20lbs since then. Last week when I realized how much weight I’ve lost, I assumed it was because I haven’t been eating much, if at all, because of my stomach issues. Now I’m worried that that’s not the real or only reason.
My nerves are SO bad right now. As miserable as I’ve been with my gut issues, even that didn’t have me scared like I am right now.

I wouldn't panic yet. They argued with me all the time about how Sulfa drugs "should" have cleared me up. Okay then why am I still pissing red fire then? Riddle me that Batman. Most people are resistant nowadays to at least two anti-biotics they use to treat UTIs. Many people are becoming resistant to Cipro too. Not saying you will be but the heavy use of anti-biotics both to treat everythign under the sun and as growth stimulants for cattle is starting to catch up to us. It is not that uncommon and it pisses me off (pun intended) that doctors act like you're doing something wrong or you're an idiot if you complain you are still having symptoms. I get the reluctance to prescribe harsher anti-biotics from the get go but the least you can do is believe when I say I've tried X and it's not working. Hopefully the sensitivity test will show them what will work for you.

Don't panic, Pink Cashmere. A lot of us aren't "textbook" when it comes to health. I still find it hilarious that my OB/GYN told me it was "impossible" when I got pregnant with DS. At the time, my DH had a crazy work schedule, and I knew exactly, both times, when we'd made love the previous month. We'd had so much trouble having our first baby that I was writing on the calendar each time, and the exact dates of my "monthly visitor" too. I know, too much information, but I was pregnant, whether the doctor believed it or not.

I may be speaking out of line here, but IME, my body lags in symptom response as things clear my system from antibiotic treatment. that's what this sounds like. you've had a couple different antibiotics working on it, but you're still seeing some symptoms. not an easy thing to suggest, but try to ride it out a little longer before you call the Dr again. are you still in pain at all? if so, ignore the wait suggestion. if you're not in pain anymore, I'd give it another day to see if the blood goes away. the reason I say this - antibiotics are a weird class of meds. you can take some as an incomplete prescription and develop an allergy/adverse reaction (when you do this repeatedly) or you can chronically overdose and render them ineffective. either way, sending gentle hugs.

I "liked" your successful cooking, Pink Cashmere , not the UTI. My stomach was upset yesterday, but we'd attended a graduation open house this past weekend, and I wonder if something I ate there disagreed with me... The air quality is going to be bad this afternoon, once again due to the Canadian wildfires. I hope they're starting to get the upper hand on so many fires. I hope it does not last too long. I did not realize how miserable it was until it came here, and I had to walk in it. Apparently NJ has had more wildfires than last year too. A bit scary.

What kind of a dumbass commits a crime wearing an ankle monitor? The same dumbass who leaves his paystub at the scene breaks into a house through a door with a ring camera on it. burns down a house in broad daylight when the neighbors all have ring cameras leaves their prescription bottle at the scene leaves via window and walks in the snow back to their house runs drugs at night in a car that has a headlight out breaks all sorts of traffic laws while running drugs. posts pictures of themselves on FB committing the crime, or with the proceeds of the crime. They are living among us, and they breed. I hate people. They're so stupid!

When I walked to the mailbox to get my mail, I glanced down the street, and roughly 2 city blocks away it looked like a lot of white smoke, like a neighbor was burning something. Except they weren't.

Can you not taste the sauce or not taste anything. If you can't taste anything please test for COVID. I'm thinking Covid, or long Covid. I know more than one person who lost their sense of taste for a long time after getting thru Covid.

I hope it does not last too long. I did not realize how miserable it was until it came here, and I had to walk in it. Apparently NJ has had more wildfires than last year too. A bit scary. When I walked to the mailbox to get my mail, I glanced down the street, and roughly 2 city blocks away it looked like a lot of white smoke, like a neighbor was burning something. Except they weren't. Sorry. The first day after work I thought the school was having a massive barbeque as it looked like that too. How close are you to where the Canadian wildfires are burning?
