I use recruiters and let them negotiate. They get paid based on what kind of salary they get me, so they have incentive to get me as much as possible. I also make sure that my minimum base salary before any bonus or incentives are at least $10K more than what I currently make. If I'm going to move, it better be worth it. Exactly! Recruiters do this for a (nice) living and also have lots of experience for job seekers and corporations

Six juveniles from 12-14 (yikes!!) just arrested in next town for stealing a car. Seen on ring doorbell at 3am taking a red car from a driveway. When car wouldn’t stop, Police started a high speed chase but ended it due to safety concerns. Car crashed afterwards nearby and 3 kids taken into custody. Other three were found shortly later. All released to parents except one who already had a monitoring device on back to Essex county youth house. Sadly don’t see a good future for these kids and sadly not a good future for folks who work hard What kind of a dumbass commits a crime wearing an ankle monitor?

Hasn't been a good day. This morning I got dizzy on the way to the bathroom and fell a few feet to the floor. I ended up sitting and did not hit my head or hurt anything except my pride.
I couldn't get up so I called 911 and they came and got me up. They checked me out and said I was dehydrated and my blood pressure was falling every time I stood up. They wanted to take me to the ER. Told me to call back if it happened again and they will take me to the ER.
It hasn't happened again. DN3 is coming out tonight to do some things that I am afraid of doing. He is also bringing food reinforcements. I gave him a list. I made the mistake of telling my sister who is on vacation in South Carolina. She talked to both her husband and DN3 and told them to keep tabs on me and do what I need. She told me if I have to call 911, let them transport me and one of them will get me back home. The EMTs seemed to think IV fluids would take care of the problem.
I haven't been dizzy since. EMTs said to use the walker wherever I go and to take my time standing up. Getting old really sucks big time.
It feels like the effects of two blood clots will never be over.

From my observations, Canadians are in what's known as condition white. Not paying attention to the environment and who is in it. Aware Americans are assessing the situations, environment and people. Choke points and escape routes. Red flag people. Anyone seen more than once in a few hours. Big city people are even more vigilant.
I got my purse picked by a bunch of teenagers I saw sneaking in the back door of the movie theater. First, they targeted me at the ticket counter to see where I pulled my money from. After the movie, there was an unusual rush of people when I got pushed into a pillar. Zip, money gone. I don't use a regular wallet but a calling card holder for cc and a little cash. A small cell phone size purse. Easy to tuck away.
please elaborate on this. I did. Closer attention who is around. Where am I? The time of day. Not being on your phone. Defensive parking - under a light and/or where a security camera is. How are people acting?
Another example I had. I walked by a tightly close mixed group of people at walmart who were somewhat nervous. Touching tight. One had o a tee shirt that said on the back don't play well with others. A softball group from another state. I picked up my two purchase and was heading to the back check out when I felt uncomfortable seeing one of the guys. He acted aggressive. Looking quickly l - r. I went to the fabric area which was closest. I then went behind the cutting table where a tall man was waiting for his wife. I walked over and stood beside him like I was in line and asked if this was the line. I couldn't see my cart for a cloth display but I heard that guy hit my cart with his hands or fist. Other shoppers just ignored them.

I'm wondering if I'm going to get any comments on my shirt today. It says "thick thighs save lives."

Gah, the selfish ones (who should know better) are the ones that really get my goat! There was a dude in the library Sat who commented on my mask (still wearing a mask?) but then proceeded to hack the whole time he sat using a computer, enough that another patron was pissed. That's why I still wear a mask out, dude. It's really struck me how often you've brought up laundry as a pain point on your cruise - the cruise line obviously needs to fix that. But I feel bad for the guy who was doing a nice thing and folding the clothes he removed. In college I remember lots of people just dumping a load on a table to get their load in immediately. He didn't deserve to get hit with a cane, or especially get tossed off the cruise. I can't say I'd never hit back if someone struck me first! I’m not sure how a cruise line can fix entitled people. I have done quite a bit of cruising on Viking, and have never seen as many problems as I have on the world cruise. I have also never seen as many entitled people either. One of the friends I made and I were talking about it. She said if you are on this cruise, you have enough money to plunk down 6 figures for a vacation. That’s serious money, and a lot of wealthy people in a relatively small place. You are no more special than anyone else. Most of the people we met were extremely nice, down to earth and didn’t act entitled. Those were the people we hung with, and who have our phone numbers and address. It occurred to me later that when cruising, most of the usual household chores are not necessary - you aren't cooking meals, washing the dishes, cleaning house, etc. The only chore left is - washing your own clothes. And washing them on the ship is not like doing them at home in your own washer/dryer - it's like using a laundromat. It's no wonder some entitled rich people find it uncomfortable to have to navigate washing their own unmentionables in public, squabbling over too few machines - when they might have a housekeeper to do it for them at home, or at least privacy and access to appliances whenever it's convenient.

Please be careful, I've noticed for myself it is easier to get dehydrated and do stupid stuff now that I am past fifty something. I mark X's on my calendar for every 8oz of liquid I drink a day to keep track of where I am at. If you have a timer you might want to use it to remind yourself to get up every so many minutes. Coming back from the bus stop at the end of the day I have been weak because of lack of food or liquid. I have sat outside on the landing near my apartment as one time I made the mistake of powering through. It was not a good decision. Dizzy and very weak, almost collapsed too. This clot stuff sounds very draining, I hope you do your best to baby yourself, so you heal and stay safe.

Another cool day, not June weather.
Hubs finished the new door on the screened in porch. It's nice, has glass and the screen rolls up inside. That will be handy when washing the glass. He said white doesn't go with the stain on the posts. I says, don't care, didn't realize the horrible condition of the other till you put this one up. Looks great, functions well. Only thing, can't see the kitties if they are standing at the bottom wanting in as it is solid. But I'm sure I can hear them.
He had to order the plexiglass for the post office window and hopes to fix it. I wanted him to put a new window in as the condition of that one is awful. They will all need it eventually and he doesn't want to. Either that or board it with hardi plank and do away with it. Being an old bank it has 2 big windows across the front and 2 smaller 1 on each side. Yes, very old, built in 1910.
I finished my blouse and it came out nice. I'm still not thrilled with the, I call the spots wrinkles. When I wash it, will soften it. Did not wash this fabric before using it as it was a big piece, should have cut it off and done so, but it's smooth and soft, I am pretty sure it won't shrink. I put the buttonholes in and sewed the buttons on tonight. I should have started doing this years ago, when you buy clothes many times there is an extra button. I had one left so sewed it inside the blouse in case I lose on. Rarely do on home made garments though.
Hubs brought a beautiful piece of fabric home from Indonesia. Not a lot of it, if I had another yard could have made a matching blouse, but it will make a very pretty culotte skirt. Had a border print so I cut that for the waist band.
I have some pieces he bought in Chad or Cameroon, a printing technique they use there to give very vivid colors. I'm not sure where it is down there but will locate it. It should make some gorgeous blouses. These and the other piece are very unique. I think they are beautiful. I remember the sari fabric shop I used to go in at Houston. I didn't but any but they had the most beautiful fabrics I ever saw. I just didn't know what to make out of them. I never went anyplace fancy enough to wear them. Though thinking back we did go to the theater and ballet so could have made us gowns for those.
I should be able to make the skirt tonight and possibly get some done on my shorty jams.

Ran into my neighbor, we chatted about his wife, sounds like she is only doing ok.
He offered to take care of our cats at Christmas, he is the one we got them from. I told him I may just take him up on it, he said no problem at all. So now hubs can go with us too. I was going to board them so he could, wasn't having him stay home.
I had a ton of laundry today, DD had a mishap, thought I would never get done. And I didn't do as much yesterday so that was there also.
Did a fast run to the grocery and back home. We had cold cuts for dinner. I bought hubs vitamins, I know he won't eat right while we are gone, he needs to take them anyway.
Ok, DD and I are eating the last of the mac salad. Need to make up her bed and go back downstairs, hope the roku will work down ther tonight.

I bought circular needles with some of my tax refund. I'm making mittens that look like clown barf. (not my words). I love it.

Got really sick at my stomach while downstairs so came up and drank some orange juice and ate an apple, that seemed to settle it, not sure what was going on.
I have the skirt altogether except for the waist band, will do it tomorrow, it's a beautiful piece of fabric and made a pretty culotte skirt. I have the shorty pj's all pinned together and ready to sew. Again wish I had made the pants longer, but noone but us is going to see them, the next pair will definitely have longer pants legs than these. The patterns all seem to be pushing short shorts too as this is a newer one. Need to drag some old patterns out instead.

I found one piece of the african fabric hubs brought home, I have another even brighter piece somewhere. But it is wax print fabric and in reading if its not a good quality can be a problem. I have no idea the quality but will try what it says. Wash on delicate in cold water and dry on low or no heat cycle. It also needs ironed, so will see what happens.

Apples are great if you are low in potassium, not sure about stomach issues.

I did a Covid test this morning and it was positive. So the cold I got on the ship was not just a cold. Ah, well. The worst symptom I've had is a loss of smell/taste. I'm going to have DH take the test, too, just to be certain he's okay.
I'll break out the masks for the next 5 days. I have been washing my hands religiously.

It’s very much like dealing with a laundry mat. It has been 35 years since I have had to haul my laundry to one, but I still remember the protocol. There is the option to send laundry out too. The cabin above ours has that included in the rate, but doing the math I couldn’t make it work, even if we sent out laundry daily.. They charge you, but it’s very reasonable. I just sent out a bag this morning because the laundry rooms are still closed and I discovered the pants I sent out early in this GI mess that we didn’t get charged for, so it looks like it’s gratis as long as the laundry room is closed. So the bag I sent out should keep us in clean underwear and socks until we get to NYC. 3 pair of pants, 2 shirts, 8 underwear, 5 socks would otherwise cost about $25.

I'm listening to a business review meeting that I should have travelled for, except I had concert tickets last night. Mom and Dad had a fantastic time, sister and I waited to hear that they had gotten safely home before calling it a night around midnight, and I think I need more coffee. I just sent regrets to the three other calls I should also be on at 10am, blaming this call I'm listening to. I'm tired.
