Unlikely. We're talking a 50 pound bag of feed. The carts are flat pallet carts so it's not like I'd miss taking a bag off. Goat would probably be dead if she at that all and there would be signs it existed (torn bag). I think what must have happened is my mind going. I've been running in and out of stores so much the past couple weeks I must not have actually bought it and just thought I did. I categorize everything in YNAB so I'll check there when I get home tonight, but it would just be under "grain" which could be chicken feed, scratch grains, goat feed, or Gus feed. Do you save receipts? Or maybe it’s still in your ‘circular file’? Almost never for stuff like that (things I would never return). There might be random ones around here and there, but I'm not consistent about saving them. Most of the time they never make it out of the car and are part of gas station clean up time.
I should go back to keeping an envelope in my purse, but typically I only step foot in a store once or twice a week so keeping track is easy, not practically every day like it as been the past couple weeks.

Susana congratulations! Maybe the new owners would want to buy the love seat and couch? No, they are turning it into a rental house. They are going to charge $1875 a month plus you have to do the half-acre yard, which currently costs me $250 a month. I started making myself sick at the thought of spending half my take-home to live in my own house while waiting for something to open up. I wasn't sure how long I could do it, but I thought maybe until the first of the year. Now you see why I am so excited. Not only did I get a house where I want to live, but I don't have to pay all that rent. Honestly, my house isn't worth it.

I am officially under contract! And the contract on the sale of my house is signed. We close the same day. He told me to take as long as I like to move out . . . at $61 a day! Lol. I am actually taking 4 days because I close on a Friday and the movers can't come until Tuesday. Well, they could move on Saturday at the same rate, but my sister is flying in for her annual month-long visit. I decided not to leave her at the airport. I am stunned at how expensive it all is . . . probably since I haven't bought a house in 20 years. In addition to the closing cost fees--there aren't that many since both are cash sales for as-is properties--so far I have $1600 for insurance and $1000-$1200 for moving a few miles down the road and making my kids move most of the boxes. I'll get some money refunded since I prepay next year's insurance as part of escrow. But I need to save that for taxes since no one is doing escrow for me. I will miss that although most people hate it. And I just keep coming up with stuff to spend money on like a new washing machine hose (stainless steel), etc. I also bought some gutter extensions because they water directly on the patio. These flip up, which the lawn service they provide should like. Meanwhile, I have one almost-new loveseat and sofa that I am trying to sell. I have two living areas (actually three, but I donated the basement furniture) here and only one smaller one there. But I have almost a month to do it. I am so excited! I will share pictures after I close. So glad it is falling into place. A new adventure of sorts in the future! Enjoy

I did also read it is because they are adding more drivers without adding more trucks. One driver said he liked those hours because it meant his day was done by 2. I get that for early risers, but delivering packages in the dark is risky. ETA - I am going to have to warn DH. Before we were married he came home to a burglary with someone still in the house (this was at a time were cell phones were rare). ...and? What happened? Don't leave us in suspense. He was smart enough to get out of the house and drive to the closest convenience store, where he used a pay phone to call the police. By the time anyone got to the house the thief was gone. Thief got a bunch of cash and some small stuff that the homeowners policy covered. DH then replaced the doors with steel. This was his first experience with any real crime - he was 19 or 20 years old. We got a call a couple of weeks ago from the sheriff's office asking if anything had been recovered. Nope.

When I lived in the hood, I got off work at 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon. I was on the phone when I parked in my driveway and I sat in the car for a minute, finishing my conversation, something I don’t normally do. I had a chow chow at the time, and I kept her in a space between the living room and the bedrooms when I was away from home. When I went inside she was going nuts. I smelled bug spray, and wondered why, but didn’t think much about it. When I was walking to my bedroom, I saw my door was closed. I didn’t close my bedroom doors. And I STILL wasn’t thinking. When I opened the door, the first thing I saw was my window open and the blinds swaying. I ran back outside and called the police and my family. Everybody, including my children, was at my Grandmother’s house, where I was headed after I changed clothes. My cousins got to my house before the police did lol. Thieves had broke in through a window in my children’s bedroom on the back of the house and went in my bedroom. They couldn’t get past my dog to get into the living room. So they sprayed her in the face with bug spray. Idk what that was supposed to do, I’m sure it just pissed her off. I had to take her to the vet, because they’d clearly sprayed it in her eyes. They stole a boombox and tv out of my bedroom. And on a warm Saturday afternoon, when people were hanging out outside and cutting grass and shit, nobody saw anything. I am positive they were still in my house when I got home. That’s why my dog was still going crazy, and why my blinds were still swaying. I can’t believe I missed all the clues that something was wrong until I saw the window. The tv they stole had just stopped working the week before. It wouldn’t even come on lol. Thats when I got an alarm installed and started letting my dog have free run of the house when I was gone. After that, if she didn’t greet me at the door, I wasn’t going inside.

I did not get enough done this weekend, so now I'm a bit stressed. I also somehow lost a 50 pound bag of goat feed that I KNOW I bought in the past couple weeks. Too much running around left to do in the next few days. Carrot needs shoes bad and Ex 2.0 was supposed to take him shopping this weekend and pick some out so all I had to do was stop in and pay for them, but no...they did not. Then the latch broke on Gus's stall gate last night, so I need to get a new one and replace that. Those are the things on my agenda for tonight. Same only with a giant box of Cheezits. I bought it a couple of weeks ago and I can't find it now. I've looked all over and either my kid took it with her somewhere or I'm going to find it in the most stupid place 6 months from now. How hard is it to keep track of a family sized box? Last week, I put string cheese back in our drawer that we keep mixing spoon and spatulas in. We also keep the kitchen scissors in there, which I used to cut open the bag of string cheese.

Pink, my sister had two Dobermans. A thief had broken into their house, and the dogs let him. When she and her husband got home from work, the found a crying thief on the couch and the dogs circling the couch with bared teeth.. They wouldn't let him get up. They wouldn't let him leave. They let him get in but they wouldn't let him get out. Very handy when you call the cops.

I went to the pool today and swam for about an hour. Lovely on this hot and sticky day. I didn't go straight home, but popped into the garden center. I bought several more kalanchoe, in hot pink and vibrant orange. Planted them in the circular raised bed in the courtyard. A neighbour saw me planting them, and squealed 'Oh, did you get permission?" "I see several bald spots. That's my permission."

They were very well trained, with German commands. When you came to their front door, they didn’t make a sound. If you knew what to look for, you might see the curtains move a little on the window next to the door. Otherwise, you’d never know they were even there. If Momma and Daddy let you in and said you were okay, they were fine and playful. If not, good luck with that.

I wish I was that efficient and organized. Oh and on a side note I love string cheese!!

Funny thing is that I grew up in Baltimore, so I was surrounded by crime my entire childhood. DH knew no crime until he was grown. The area that we live in is very low crime, a complete 180 from my childhood, and I am more lax on security than DH is. I always make sure doors are locked and such, but DH is always on high alert about EVERYTHING. It exhausts me, mostly because he acts like I don't know how to protect myself. Dude, I've seen things I'd never tell you about. That would only put him way more over the top.

LD never picked it up when he came home, so we stopped. but if Punk is being a 1st class twat, a loud sharp "park your ass" in French snaps her back to attention. I learned something a few years ago, when a police officer acquaintance of mine brought home a female Belgian Malinois puppy. she got G for free from a breeder who supplied local PDs with K-9 officers in training, with the stipulation that G would be bred for the same. I forget what was wrong with G as far as being a K-9 herself, but it was awhile back. anyway, I learned that American K-9s are trained in Dutch. that surprised me, but then I realized that the majority of criminals that are going to be chased by a K-9 aren't likely to speak Dutch. J told me the reason they did that was to ensure that the dog listened to its handler, that the suspect couldn't interfere, and that the suspect also couldn't claim that 'they heard the handler tell the dog to attack' or some such other bullshit, since odds were they don't understand Dutch either.

Dutch isn't high on the list of languages you're going to hear walking through the place.

wait, I totally fucked that one up and misspoke - they train in Flemish, b/c Belgian. (duh....*I* should know better, having worked in Flanders ) for those of you NOT from The Netherlands, Flemish is a dialect very close to Dutch, which is spoken in northern/northeastern Belgium. the southern part of the country speaks French.

How hard is it to keep track of a family sized box? We have a loft area that DD1 primarily uses. There’s a couch and TV along with a moveable coffee table, counter space, cabinets, and drawers. It’s a Roku TV that DD1 hardly uses except the aquarium screen saver on it. DD1 tends to watch things on her iPad instead. Anyway, DH decided to stay upstairs today and looked for 2 hours for the remote. He even called me to see if I knew (I didn’t). In the end, he downloaded the Roku app on his phone and used that. Later he brought DD2 home from daycare and stayed upstairs with him. Somehow, DD2 found it and put it in a spot that DH found it in. DD2 doesn’t really talk so she can’t tell us where it was. 🤣🤣 Life’s mysteries!!

The person that trained those Dobermans also trained K-9 dogs. He was a friend of theirs. In addition to the fact that most people here don’t speak German, which helps for the same reasons as using Dutch, I’ve read that the German language with the “hard” sounds is very good for training dogs. Like how I learned to give my dogs short names with hard consonant sounds so I can say it sharply when needed, to get their attention immediately.

We had a gorgeous Doberman named Hexe ( witch in German). She looked like a graceful little deer. Good breeding but later sadly the breed deteriorated Very sweet and always was leaning on or touching one of her pack. Very good with little kids but scary looking to others

I'll admit (I don't share a lot of details, but my first employer was outed on this board by a since-banned asshat posted 10+ years ago...) that my Belgian time was spent in Geel. I pulled up Limburg, and I saw Eindhoven to the west. that was a weekend destination for us to explore and wander. I only did that when I had American co-workers with me. if I was on my own, I went south to Wallonia, since I could actually communicate with everyone.

a British friend of mine posted this earlier tonight, and I felt like I took a kick to the teeth. the first thing that came to mind was a new poster here - do any of you remember the young soldier that somehow found our board a number of years ago? I want to say that young man was Russian, but I honestly can't remember. what I do remember, though, is that his colleagues took the time to find this board to let us know he'd been killed in battle. *I'll edit this post if the formatting doesn't translate. www.facebook.com/623305376/videos/252499764049163/

Six juveniles from 12-14 (yikes!!) just arrested in next town for stealing a car. Seen on ring doorbell at 3am taking a red car from a driveway. When car wouldn’t stop, Police started a high speed chase but ended it due to safety concerns. Car crashed afterwards nearby and 3 kids taken into custody. Other three were found shortly later. All released to parents except one who already had a monitoring device on back to Essex county youth house. Sadly don’t see a good future for these kids and sadly not a good future for folks who work hard

My friend named her headstrong dog "Daisy". I was like how in TF are you going to be able to say that in a stern voice? She'll live up to her name.

Years ago someone said a telepathic individual was "eating" through them. The friend was overweight and disconnected the telepath when he figured it out.. Friend turned body builder. I decided to use the disconnect for some previous social anxieties that surfaced. It helped. I used the disconnect on snacking. It has worked a couple of days. I'd love if the disconnect worked on my knee injury.
