My sister and her daughter and daughter's family are on their one week vacation. They arrived in Virginia Beach last night and ate at Cheesecake Factory. I expect they will also take in Red Lobster because that is who they are. Virginia Beach probably has mostly chain restaurants Always nice to have a family vacation

I keep telling myself if I start my work day early, I can end it early. It's not working.
Hugs to you and MPL.

We love Surf Rider ar Kempsville as well as Coastal Cafe. Then there’s Ricks Cafe on Virginia Beach Blvd., near First Colonial. Rudee’s at Rudy Inlet. That’s just a couple of local restaurants.

We will be going late August and are still trying to decide on a hotel, based on good local restaurants within walking distance.

I have had a heck of a time getting in my computer today. I don't know what we have going on here but phone, TV and computer problems of late.
Hubs went over to check out the house a bit. Parts are missing from the AC? He found an A coil in a shed and is hoping its not out of the furnace. No hot water is running. But he said he will have to go back later and check things out. Will call the furnace guy when he is working over there. The heating and cooling system was put in new 8 years ago. The washer is unplugged and hoses disconnected, I'm betting it doesn't work either, it's about 3 years old as is the dryer. Yes, the house will be fixed up and sold. I will go over in a couple of days and clean up the appliances and see if they work.
Hubs is fixing our screen door on the back porch today. He has a window to fix at the post office too before starting on the house. I'm sure he will still be working on it when I get back, I will help him.

We are FINALLY getting good rain! There has been fear going around of some wells drying up. That is a catastrophe around here, as we so far away from town.

Have you guys checked the privacy settings on your browsers? It’s one thing to get signed up for mailing lists after ordering but I’d be pissed about getting emails after just browsing a website. I don’t typically get these but I have all my do not track and limit cookies and no targeted ads boxes checked. Come to think of it, I also post from an old tablet that I basically don’t use for anything else...although I will browse these boards from my phone and click links without signing in. Maybe device hygiene is important? I do get periodic bursts of spam texts insisting that I must click the link or my package will be consigned to the fiery depths Short of throwing Clorox on my desktop I’ve done very thing I can do. Now I don’t get tons of spam but they all come with gmail addresses which what I found interesting And I don’t click open any link here from any device I use. Get more virus pop up’s than any other site I frequent. Do you log into your google account before you browse? I am just wondering what they are using to track you and determine an email address. I hate that DS’ school forces him to have a gmail account and google id...I have him use a different browser for anything that requires it. Mostly because his school blocks his account from using youtube and he’d have to log in and out every time anyway, but still My ymam is actually tied to a now defunct email address so I’d have to get someone to vouch for me personally if I ever forgot my password here. So, I have no idea if I’m actually getting bombarded with spam that bounces back to sender

There is one right by the Ulta now that you mention it. I'm switching my order to that store. I had just started the order with the Target closest to my house. Thanks! I completely forgot about that store. We have an Ulta inside Target. Not quite as big as a free-standing Ulta, but carries the same products. The Ulta inside our Target is a joke. There is nobody that works there, it's just a kiosk with some higher end brand stuff. I actually remembered that my fave Ulta location has a Target in the same parking lot, so I went there.

But that’s still doing exactly what you want, not dying your hair . White hair is pretty to me too. I have never dyed my hair and it's white. I have white highlights.

Annoyed. Got the bill for DS's summer class. Last year he took 6 credits and it was $600. This year he's taking 3 and it's 2K. Apparently some of the financial aid only kicks in at 6 credits summer session. Mostly annoyed because he was supposed to take 6 and dropped the May class because it was remote and not online and overlapped with his new job. Then after he dropped they pushed his start date back anyhow so it would have only overlapped by one day. I should just make him take a heavier load his last semester.

I am going to go through and change all the passwords on our bank accounts and other accounts. I haven't for quite awhile so needs done.
I don't like where some of them want to save your passwords and I say no, but I see some do anyway.
We just heard a classmate of mine passed. The source isn't real reliable so we will see, others will know if true. She has been sick for quite a long time and I haven't heard from her in awhile. In fact last night I was thinking of her and going to message her today. Very sad, that will be 2 we have lost this year. It appears to be accelerating.
Hubs was going to put the old wooden screen door back up. I told him get a new one like it but he found a nice, new white one with screens and glass in the storage of the garage. I mean it's a screened in porch so really doesn't go with it but its a 100% better door so I think its a good use of it. Of course fitting those things is quite a chore, it always is.

I had one scare TF out of me around that hour, a few months ago. instead of walking to the well-lit front porch to drop the package, they spent a good 10min in pitch darkness, fucking around with the rickety gate to my deck to drop the package next to that door. there's a window into my bedroom at the other end of that deck, and I couldn't readily determine whether it was someone trying to break into my house or not. I was polite when I called to read someone the riot act, but I was pretty pissed.

One driver said he liked those hours because it meant his day was done by 2. I get that for early risers, but delivering packages in the dark is risky. ETA - I am going to have to warn DH. Before we were married he came home to a burglary with someone still in the house (this was at a time were cell phones were rare).

I did not get enough done this weekend, so now I'm a bit stressed. I also somehow lost a 50 pound bag of goat feed that I KNOW I bought in the past couple weeks. Too much running around left to do in the next few days. Carrot needs shoes bad and Ex 2.0 was supposed to take him shopping this weekend and pick some out so all I had to do was stop in and pay for them, but no...they did not. Then the latch broke on Gus's stall gate last night, so I need to get a new one and replace that. Those are the things on my agenda for tonight. Same only with a giant box of Cheezits. I bought it a couple of weeks ago and I can't find it now. I've looked all over and either my kid took it with her somewhere or I'm going to find it in the most stupid place 6 months from now. How hard is it to keep track of a family sized box?

Knocking on wood all over the place so I don't jinx things but it looks like August is going to be just the best month possible. The first week of the month DS2, DDIL, and the two little ones will spend here with me Then I will have one day to pack (and do laundry but whatever) before heading off to Singapore where I will meet up with Dsis2. Our travel agent told me yesterday where we will be going from there and that he had booked the side trip for us including taking care of the needed visas. The not so little snot took great pleasure in hiding the details of that trip but he did say that, work permitting he was going to join us for he last 5 days . For clarification: travel agent = not so little (he is 6'3") snot= DS1! We will also spend some time with him and his SO on either side of that side trip. All that time with people I love! The month will be just about over when I return to CA and I am sure I will be exhausted but who cares right

As soon as I dropped the kids at d&d camp the loudest, longest scariest thunder rolled in. I'm hoping dc is doing ok. Peer pressure works wonders for that stuff and ds is there too, but still.

We're talking a 50 pound bag of feed. The carts are flat pallet carts so it's not like I'd miss taking a bag off. Goat would probably be dead if she at that all and there would be signs it existed (torn bag). I think what must have happened is my mind going. I've been running in and out of stores so much the past couple weeks I must not have actually bought it and just thought I did. I categorize everything in YNAB so I'll check there when I get home tonight, but it would just be under "grain" which could be chicken feed, scratch grains, goat feed, or Gus feed.

I am officially under contract! And the contract on the sale of my house is signed. We close the same day. He told me to take as long as I like to move out . . . at $61 a day! Lol. I am actually taking 4 days because I close on a Friday and the movers can't come until Tuesday. Well, they could move on Saturday at the same rate, but my sister is flying in for her annual month-long visit. I decided not to leave her at the airport.
I am stunned at how expensive it all is . . . probably since I haven't bought a house in 20 years. In addition to the closing cost fees--there aren't that many since both are cash sales for as-is properties--so far I have $1600 for insurance and $1000-$1200 for moving a few miles down the road and making my kids move most of the boxes. I'll get some money refunded since I prepay next year's insurance as part of escrow. But I need to save that for taxes since no one is doing escrow for me. I will miss that although most people hate it. And I just keep coming up with stuff to spend money on like a new washing machine hose (stainless steel), etc. I also bought some gutter extensions because they water directly on the patio. These flip up, which the lawn service they provide should like.
Meanwhile, I have one almost-new loveseat and sofa that I am trying to sell. I have two living areas (actually three, but I donated the basement furniture) here and only one smaller one there. But I have almost a month to do it.
I am so excited! I will share pictures after I close.
