Do you want two skirts or just one? Well, I don't really want 2 of the same skirt in different sizes. But, I only need one total for the trip.

I overslept. I knew I would. I have 3 hours to make my house presentable. Yikes.

I'm sitting and hydrating before my shower. I filled the feeders and bird baths, pulled a few weeds, and whacked back the neighbor's encroaching grape vine AGAIN. Only took a few minutes, but it's 80 degrees and 76% humidity so truly air you can wear.
Laundry is done and folded and will head to Randall's after shower in search of fresh asparagus and maybe flour in a small package. I'm hoping to find a 2 lb bag so I can put some in the fridge and toss the rest.

I was reading about life expectancy in this country, the article said it has fallen so far that we are equal to countries like Albania now. That it's something like 76.6. I'm guessing some of it is lack of access to health care, good health care, lack of exercise, and obesity, it did not say for sure. But they are worrying about SS, sounds like they have already taken care of that. People won't live long enough to draw it for long. In Indiana 1 of every 3 kids is overweight or obese. Not good. When I was giving them to list of our meds at the optometrist she asked if we had lost any weight on ozempic and I told her how much. She said we were the only people she had heard of using it that had lost anything. I said well it curbs your appetite but you can't just keep eating fast food, donuts, and things like that or I doubt you will lose weight. You have to change your eating habits. She just looked at me like I was out of it, I never said anything else but yes it worked for us and is. There are a lot of factors, the ones you mention are happening worldwide, so you can normalize these out. Some of the factors that come into play are who the data is dealt with in the US. From what I remember some 10+ years ago in the Epidemiology classes I took was that there are different benchmarks that the US uses for longevity, compared to the rest of the world. It made no sense why the US uses different ones, but it’s not a fair comparison when used in articles like this. We had a discussion about this in one of my classes, but other than everyone should use the same method of number crunching (which we don’t), it doesn5 make for accurate results. Added to this was our response to Covid was abysmal, compared to the rest of the world. I have been in countries the last 6 months that have had a 90+% rate of vaccination. The US is somewhere around 70%.

Lola, our youngest dog, has been bringing June bugs into the house. They are big, brown beetles, and I hate those things. Fortunately, she usually kills them before bringing them in, but it doesn't mean I want to see them.

Maddow had a time in the night where he went to pee and wound up crying with pain for a while. Then he came back to sleep with me. Hope that medicine kicks in a little more today. With the first round of this, I was given pain pills to give him for 3 days. He has to live with it this time.
He did sleep with me and Amelia got the message she couldn't sleep with me if she was going to hiss at Maddow. She didn't sleep with me.
Got to get the collars on them today so tomorrow all I have to add is the magnets. I think that will be easier without other people in the house, especially since they both hide from the little boy.

I woke up at 5:30 for no reason, so I decided to just go back to sleep. Big mistake. I now feel all sluggish from sleeping too much.

A lady I used to work with had a multi-cat household and she would keep little perfume samples around. After a vets visit each kitty would get the quickest little swipe on the top of their head with the perfume sample. She said when they all smelled the same it stopped the hissing and fighting after a visit to the vets.

Bwahaha. I have a stuffed Pooh bear that sings his exercise song. He somehow got into the wash last night so the battery pack is damaged. Apparently for the last half hour he's been singing on his own accord scaring the crap out of Dh in the bedroom. I have one too! I also have a set of pooh, piglet, eeyore, and rabbit that talk to each other.

I saw a lightning bug yesterday. They usually start mid June. When I was a kid we collected them for money one summer. I think it was Johns Hopkins University that was doing a study on them.

Works like a charm when they all smell the same.

I finished assembling a chicken salad with lots of veges. I used to eat one-half sandwich on whole grain bread for breakfast back when I was more slender. A joke I saw. I know I am chubby but I identify with slender.

Well, DS cleaned two bathroom and the guest bedroom (which was pretty good anyhow), and vacuumed the basement while I focused on the kitchen, dining and living room. As long as we intercept them before they go into the laundry room or any of our bedrooms...especially mine...I think we're pretty good. I'm getting some dairy potatoes thrown together for dinner with brats and DS ran to town to get french bread for an egg bake for breakfast. I won't have all that done before they get here, but close enough.

Been non-stop since my 5K last night, my last race for the season. Did get some good sleep, but then up and going steadily. Laundry, vacuuming, breakfast, lunch, dishwasher run, laundry almost done, bathrooms clean, front lawn mowed and edged and part of the back yard mowed before both mower batteries ran out. I will finish the lawn tomorrow, as a thunderstorm is heading over us shortly.

Treating for sinus infection and recommended a cycle of Nexium. The drainage at night is causing my stomach to make too much acid, which is causing my other issues - which are the worst in the morning. Suggested eating bread or a banana before I go to bed. Ginger tea would be helpful too. It has also caused me to develop a case of hyperosmia, which is a super increased sense of smell. Have to go back if that does not get better in the next 2 weeks.
First time in my life that I remember ever giving a stool sample. 🤢

Was it part of a politically motivated op-ed, National Enquirer click-bait, or something based on actual data? I really appreciate posters who provide links to stories they reference

We went to the parade, parked in the driveway of the house I got vacant and watched it. Was pretty hot so we sat in the car with the AC on.
Then went to the bluff and lunch was still 1/2 hour away. I was starving, DD bought nachos and cheese, one of her favorites. But I waited for the chicken, with potato salad, and baked beans. This year I took a little container of barbecue sauce so the chicken was GOOD. They put something on it but not much flavor, but was grilled just perfect, it's cooked over coals as are the pork chops. I had a root beer float and DD ice cream with butterscotch. We blew all our calorie restraint today, but it was worth it. Tomorrow back on the straight and narrow.
Like a dummy, I stayed up to 3 this morning, watching movies on telly, so today really tired. That was entirely my fault. But I did sleep very well.
DD and I drove down to the other rent house and it could be mowed but I'm waiting till next week. That dinky mower we took down there is awful to mow it with. I told hubs our big one will do it in half the time. If we had to mow these lawns with that, no way would I live here, he wouldn't either. Maybe later today, I will get the big mower out and put 5 gallon buckets of water on the front and start watering my roses bushes in the fence row. I also need to burn the pile of wood and weeds out there before it gets to dry to do so. Almost is now, also while there is no wind.
But I'm thinking seriously of a short nap right now. It is 88 out and hot. At the festival there were tons of tiny babies, never seen that many before, so maybe their "have more kids campaign" is taking off in the "white" churches around here. There were enough christian type shirts on up there, and they will toe that republican line whether they can afford it or not. I was surprised to see an Obama hat at one of the vendors till I saw what it said under it. I should have known a negative comment, so walked away. I was going to get for DD till I saw that.

I'II see if I can find the story again.
I don't think this one was politically linked but most are now, so could have been.

I'm very much not a cat person, but LD has massive separation anxiety - for his sister. he'll watch for my car when I go out/travel, but he loses his mind when he doesn't at least know that Punk is nearby. that was a lot of fun during her various surgeries each of the past 3y. anyway, I book all of their appointments together. and, with the blockage surgery adventure a few weeks back, he came in to the office for (his own) moral support and the practice is totally okay with it. is that not an option for cats?

Found beautiful fat asparagus and 2lb of flour. The grocery has wonderful fresh veggies, with a whole case dedicated to packages of "prepared" veggies like sliced squash, shredded Brussels sprouts and ready-to-cook asparagus at $6.99/lb. My asparagus was $3.99/lb and I can snap the woody ends off myself, thank you. We stopped for lunch on the way home and it's 85 degrees now, so I brought the asparagus in with me so it wouldn't bake in the car while we ate.

I know I am chubby but I identify with slender. heh. I resemble that joke. I'm a huge fan of grabbing a half sandwich when I'm getting dizzy/shaky b/c I've forgotten to eat or wasn't hungry. there's always something in my fridge, be it "cracker cuts" of cheese, deli tuna salad, or whatever. what do you mix into your chicken salad? a guilty pleasure for me is the Napa Almond chicken salad sandwich from Panera. it has halved grapes, and (I think) walnuts for some crunch. so tasty!

So this has an influence of lowering US life span. But thinking even more is obesity and all the associated health problems including diabetes. Even in young children this is devastating

Sam's Club run is done and we have food now. The total was enough to make a person cry. I haven't done a big run with perishables since February.

Trying to get myself pumped to start working on my application. I don't want to. I am tired of this.
For sure just doing one. The other one, my cover letter is supposed to talk about my experience related to the responsibilities. They don't even articulate responsibilities in a way that I can understand. So how can I answer something when i don't even know what it means. I still have the interview next week, and another resume that is being reviewed. I am thinking I should get a first interview on that job.
So. One more right now needs to be good enough.

I'm choosing to ignore that there wasn't a sawyer beetle still in my bathroom when I finally built up the courage to open the door. I ran the faucet for a bit, in case it decided to check out the drain. but idk where TF the thing went. I also had a spider land on me just before I got in the shower this afternoon, I wasn't aware that there was even one in the room. as someone said last night on my FB pic, I need to burn it down, collect the insurance money, and move back to the beach where I belong.
