I didn't mean a kid literally. I mean some of the people who assist seem to be doing more and more of what the optometrist did but not at this practice. I liked what I experienced. Very professional, orderly, and organized, you could tell they knew what they were doing. And they were very automated with some equipment I had never seen before. There are several docs in that practice with different specialties. It was in a beautiful old downtown restored building. Vincennes dates from the 1700's. My grandmother's family was prominent down there. I haven't noticed lately, but they used to have a big building on the main street with their name painted on the side, they were into retail businesses too. I think it may have been torn down. Both sides of her family were well off but she married a poor man and they had 11 kids. Her family helped them a lot mom said. I noted the movie theater has become a restaurant, but they had restored the marquee and it was all lite up, pretty neat. And there are lovely huge old houses Many restored but some in a sad state. William Henry Harrisons house is there he was the 9th president but he only lived a month. He caught pneumonia at his inauguration. He was the one that marched to Tippecanoe for an Indian battle and went right by where our house is. The cemetery behind us has a soldier buried back there that was killed by Indians here on his way north. Also a university there which is much bigger than I realized. There is a huge building dedicated to George Rogers Clark down there on the river. It's really gorgeous and has a big park surrounding it. Also a military museum, DD and I toured it, had no itdea it was so big and comprehension. And a huge Catholic cemetery that is very old, my grandparents and her family are buried there. Yet they have some modern things, I saw pedestals with electric cars plugged up to them. Thanks for the history, I have heard of Vincennes, but I don't think I have ever been there. The Wiki entry is interesting. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vincennes,_Indiana

The tea I wanted wasn't in store when I went to Sam's last weekend, so I shipped it since shipping was free. It came yesterday. It came in a huge box with enough paper packing to wrap my house. It's a freaking box of tea!

During 2020 I did better getting my preferred toilet paper on the Sam's Club app than in store. It came with padding in the box. It's toilet paper!!
I'm over the pollen levels. We went for a drive looking at a couple lots and one house. Stopped for ice cream and ate it outside since it's nice. Back home and my eyes are burning from the pollen.

How is our freezer space looking these days? Asking for a friend of course. DH has decided to go decaf, right after I placed a coffee order I'm off to place a new order for decaf and research crime scene cleanup Coffee goes great in baked goods with chocolate and cinnamon fwiw. Made the frozen Chicken Chapli Kababs for dinner. Four thin ones, but according to the box 2 servings. My sinuses are stuffed up enough I was able to easily eat two instead of just one wit lots of rice. Made rice pasta to have with it but decided to ease off on the spices for my stomach's sake. Need to buy some new ground ginger but could not find any using that as a search term in my online grocery order. Not a desperate need. Hope I figure out how to get home in a timely manner tomorrow after work. Scheduled my delivery for mid afternoon. Chose the earliest time I was comfortable with once I found out when I came home today, even the late slot was already taken. Saturday is the end of the flyer & specials, so decided to go as early as reasonable. Coworker did not respond about picking me up b4 work, so odds are I will be late by a half an hour given the bus schedule for Saturdays. Haven't figured it out yet, but I'll look at it again tonight or first thing tomorrow. There might be much texting with NJ Transit in my future.

How did I make it to almost 40 and not figured out the awesomeness of yoga pants?!
I scored another pair at Goodwill.
So comfortable and my butt looks awesome.
I love my jeans but I think yoga pants are going to become my at home wear.

Every once in a while you all make me feel like I am left out of a club I really don't want to be a member of to begin with. Like neither of my kids ever had head lice, or 4 years ago when I was freaked out about an eye infection -> it was the first time in my life I ever had to deal with pink eye. Neither siblings, nor kids, nor I had ever had it. And now - I can't really be the only 71yo female who has never had a UTI can I now? Really? I've only ever had one UTI and it wasn't cool. I also have never broken a bone or been stung by anything which people sometimes think it weird. T2 is 23 and she's never had an ear infection which is rare to make it through childhood without at least one. I DID say I did NOT want to be a member of that club LOL. As for broken bones - only once and I was in my 60s at the time so you have plenty of time to catch up.

I live in yoga pants when it's cooler. Between my allergies and some likely minor sensory issues, I'm picky about my materials and what I wear. I can't stand the feel of certain things. High waisted anything kills me. Some things have me wanting to crawl out of my skin by day end. I've done several purges of my work dress clothes in particular since covid.

My Dad and stepmom are staying here this weekend and I should be cleaning, but I'm beat. It has been a long week and so damn hot. I'm telling myself I'll get up early tomorrow and get it done before they get here.
I got my order of clothes and the skirt fit and looks fine. Actually both sizes I ordered fit fine, so not sure if I should err on larger or smaller? I actually found a pair of black sorta dress sandals buried in the closet, so don't need to buy any of those if I don't want to...although they're not the most comfortable. I also broke out my jewelry (I have like 5 things LOL). Good old standby diamond stud earrings and tennis bracelet it is. I made sure I double-checked the holes hadn't closed since I haven't worn earrings for years.

I have been zoning out. I have one more job to apply for this weekend. There's a second...more of a "hey let's throw spaghetti at the wall and see if it sticks." I don't know that I have it in me to do both.

Two hours of surgery and pins put in I was good as new. Well 8 weeks and 4 cast changes along the way. But it was a learning experience! Funny how I never thought of it as a bad thing except when driving. I was driving 5 speed and had to take hand off steering wheel to shift. Made for some creative driving. Steering with tips of fingers and knees on occasion got touchy to say the least.

I reached to pick up something in my bedroom this am and snapped a muscle? In my back this am. Saw Chiropractor this am (didn’t help), did some stretching. Had a mani-pedi. And walked my dogs.
I had the Chiropractor and Mani-pedi appts set up before. DH was not home when we got home, our routine is to walk as soon as we get home, so I walked them.
Chiro told me to do some yoga stretches and use an ice pack. I went to Walgreens and bought one. Going to put it back in the freezer. It takes 4 hours to chill.
My gym has Yoga at 7:15 am. I will attempt to get up. I will have to be up about 6 because the fur babies expect a walk first.

I have thick thighs. I only wear yoga pants to work out.
Pulled my summer clothes from DS’s old room this am. Most fit me. I have two pairs of pants one was mint green the other pink. Both are so faded they are nearly white. They Are skinny jeans. Not my favorite style. I am thinking about it. I have a pair of dressy white jeans with inset lace and zippers at the ankle. I did not wear them last summer at all. They fit. I would prefer they be a bit looser, but I may wear to a birthday party tomorrow.
I have summer pants that are comfortable, but I don’t think I want to wear to this party. Want something dressier. I have a new pair of capris but I think they should be a size smaller maybe. I can’t get them smaller (sold out) so I may have to tailor them.
A self cleaning bathroom sounds great. Maybe AI will make it a reality.
My DD had a super cute blouse on today. I thought maybe it was from Ann Taylor, but it was from Shein (sp?). She got a whole box of stuff including about 5 pair of shoes for $100.

My kitties are busy this evening. I found one had opened my jewelry box and was trying to get things out. That cat is the one that likes pins. Then a little later I heard something plop in the kitchen and I hear all this bumping. I had one boiled egg left to put in fridge and kitty found it and was batting it around. Next thing I hear they are in the plastic drawer where I keep DD's receipts and trying to dig those out. They were in something else but I don't know what, they quit before I could get there. They are very busy little boys. Then they have been running through the house like crazy chasing each other and playing. They have been out a lot of today so not sure why they have so much energy tonight. They were out longer than normal.
I put the sealant on her arm again, if we can make it overnight it may get better. But I imagine she will start scratching it. Her pills the trazaodone and respiradone help her relax and sleep so maybe she will.
The top of the new pj's fits just fine, the pants are to short and skimpy, the backs up above the cheeks of my butt. You just never know. I just hate buying clothing anymore. So, I still have to make some unless I buy from someplace like Lands End that I know will fit. But I only buy from them with drastic markdowns, they are too expensive otherwise.

I made sure I double-checked the holes hadn't closed since I haven't worn earrings for years. Do you want two skirts or just one? Every time I make a choice like that it feels like there is no correct choice. My body size changes under stress so my choice is usually good for awhile and then I curse myself out for not going for the larger size when stress makes me fatter. I still want a straw fedora I saw on sale online, but I did find an old visor I have been using. I remember buying it on my honeymoon because I loved the fabric and they were sold out of anything like it that would have fit me. I wear it sometimes instead of my sunglasses but it does make me look like I am on vacation as its a colorful Batik design. (My very white self is spending more time in the sun than usual due to waiting at bus stops and walking to and from said bus stops. So I would love a nice new off white "straw" fedora along with some reduced sandals, but I need to be careful on spending now that I am back at work AND I still have the AAA/dead car stuff to resolve. )

I personally like using a bag of frozen Brussels sprouts. Bags of peas wprk well, too.

I lived in them during Covid, which is largely why I picked up some lbs. The elastic waistband can be too forgiving.

At least I was able to sleep last night. Got up with DH while he got ready for work. About to get a shower before I head to the chiropractor, filled by urgent care. I think a ponytail will do for today. I just don't have it in me to blow dry my hair today.
And I noticed yesterday when I fed the cat that some smells are now making me want to puke. Cat food has always been an issue for me when my monthly was close, but I haven't had 1 in a year and a half, and this morning the smell of DH's egg cooking made me want to barf.

I found a lovely little tea cup at the estate sale that has Forget me Not flowers on it and the phrase in calligraphy.
Since it was only a dollar I bought it.
I took it as a sign from grandma since that is the last line in the poem of hers I have tattooed on my back.

I would like to ship the peanut off for a few years. I'll take her back at 13. Any takers? She is very strong. The attitude though. She is such a teenager already. And indeed, I am too old for this shit.
(DH was like, how the hell did we get 4 stubborn kids. I'm like...it was the curse. Our parents said, just wait until you have kids like you someday.)
The missy was up before 6. At 6, we told her she could go downstairs. She got herself some breakfast. Which included fudge. She also decided to paint her nails.
And then she put lip gloss on me. Let's just say we need to work on the missy's fine motor skills.

Bwahaha. I have a stuffed Pooh bear that sings his exercise song. He somehow got into the wash last night so the battery pack is damaged.
Apparently for the last half hour he's been singing on his own accord scaring the crap out of Dh in the bedroom.

I was reading about life expectancy in this country, the article said it has fallen so far that we are equal to countries like Albania now. That it's something like 76.6.
I'm guessing some of it is lack of access to health care, good health care, lack of exercise, and obesity, it did not say for sure. But they are worrying about SS, sounds like they have already taken care of that. People won't live long enough to draw it for long. In Indiana 1 of every 3 kids is overweight or obese. Not good.
When I was giving them the list of my meds at the optometrist she asked if we had lost any weight on Ozempic and I told her how much. She said we were the only people she had heard of using it that had lost anything. I said, well, it curbs your appetite, but you can't just keep eating fast food, donuts, and things like that or I doubt you will lose weight. You have to change your eating habits. She just looked at me like I was out of it, I never said anything else but yes it worked for us and is.
