The casing is made out of water soluble polyvinyl alcohol, not plastic. I don’t use these for laundry, but do the dishwasher. For laundry, I need to be able to rub detergent directly into the stain as I frequently miss my mouth. Handsoap works great for spots. Another "missed-my-mouth- here ...or a laundry soap bar. Those work really well.

I am listening to an audio book. Said I was going to reconcile checkbook. I will give myself 30 more minutes. I pulled creeping charlie from one garden bed today. It is taking over my yard.

I'm wondering what my dissertation is about... I'm wondering why I'm writing a dissertation... I'm trying not to smack myself upside the head.

Our well went out plumber won’t be here till Tuesday So went with live in to our lake club and filled up empty bottles jugs etc with water so we can wash our hands and flush toilets Hoping it’s not the well pump since we’ve had to replace that previously and it’s expensive.
After we filled up the bottles and jugs, got a Prosecco for me a coke for her. Just sat in Adirondack chairs for a while and relaxed and enjoyed the lake Big Memorial Day party tomorrow, usually I invite all of family and we have 10-12 there. Barbecue drinks games swimming and lots of fun Just starting to feel better so not this year, the immunotherapy is mild compared to chemo but still has yucky side effects Jerseyguy finally got approval from insurance company for his leukemia meds and Sloan Kettering called Friday he doesn’t need to pay anything. The drug is $14000/month but company works with insurance company to help patients.

I'm back to almost exclusively thrift shopping again. Styles are horrible. I can't pull off most 90s fashion anymore and I refuse to look like an extra in Children of the Corn. Or it all has stupid cutesy sayings all over it. JcPenny and Kohls are the worst offenders. Thrift stores can be a pretty good place to find dresses this time of year. I find my body changing too and I don't like it. I'm becoming more apple shaped around the middle. It's hormones and age so difficult to get rid of. I'm still underweight overall for my height so the poochy is extra annoying. I don't have arm flaps yet at least. Destroying my body working physical jobs in labs keeps that at bay at least. I always shop at thrift stores. I will not buy "fast fashion". Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

I was at Penneys. I don't think I've ever stepped foot in a Younkers or a Kohls in my life. I am just not into clothes shopping...at all. Hate, hate, HATE it.
One way to go shopping is to go online and put together a mega order of stuff that you want to try on. You can order 2 different sizes, or things that you just want to try on. You’ll be sending most of it back. I HATE shopping, even more so since I can’t find what I’m looking for and no longer have the patience to deal with stores. The last mega order I made was last year, to buy a new dress for my nephew’s wedding. I placed orders of 5-7 dresses each to Talbots and Boden. I had to package them all up and send back, but I could try them all on in my bathroom and see how they looked without the crap of dressing rooms. I chose one, everything else went back. That's terrible! Most companies will not put these things back in their inventory. It's easier to throw them out, and most go to the .

Flonase, Allegra and one Sudafed have done jack squat. Debating if I should take another the dose for adults is two pills but that can send my flying around the room.
Sitting in the shade at the park right now Abby has a birthday party. At least the weather is mild and there is a good breeze.

Well when there are no stores locally you have to do what you have to do. I just returned from a wedding. Not a single one of us were able to find a dress locally. We bought them out of state but I don't always have time to travel 75 minutes one way to decent shopping. Not all of us are lucky enough to live in areas with great shopping options.

Tiny dog doesn’t have that much sense. He’s still barking and growling at both dogs, and my dogs aren’t taking it as fun and games anymore. The way DS is about his dog, is like parents with bad ass children who ignore the bad behavior and don’t want anybody saying anything to their child. It’s very irritating. My dogs are on the deck with me right now, but I’m not going to make my dogs stay outside in the heat all day or confine them. This is their home, and tiny dog started this mess, so he can go outside or DS can put the crate we have together for him. If DS won’t teach his dog how to act he’s not going to be able to bring him back over here. This is stressful. Y’all have seen pictures of my dogs, it won’t take much for one of them to hurt tiny dog, even if it’s unintentionally. Both our dogs have been to Mister’s parents’ house and they have 2 dogs, and it was never a problem. I feel sorry that DS didn't teach him how to be a better dog so he could socialize with his own kind. You are right - Tiny Dog doesn't have the sense to know he's crossing lines so he has to be saved from himself DS finally started correcting his dog and they are all doing better now. I told him he still needs to keep his dog with him at all times.

I'm up, farting around on here and FB since I don't have a newspaper. again. when I called this morning to get a credit, I told them I'm about to cancel the subscription that I've had since 2006 (that they thank me for at the start of each call...). the weeks that I actually *do* get a paper always seem to be the ones that I don't have time to sit and read it. I'm over it. I stopped my physical paper because they went to a "toss" route. I don't want to have to find my paper somewhere close to the driveway in rain or snow. For some reason, the city denied putting up the boxes in this subdivision. At least then I would have known where the paper is. The other reason is cost and small town newspapers have little content. it's dead center in my driveway, when it actually shows up. but I def understand your frustration as well. I'd been keeping the subscription live bc a) I get full online access, and b)I don't think Sundays only is available anymore if I were to cancel now and try to sign up again when I eventually move somewhere else. I do actually enjoy spending Sunday morning with the paper and a huge mug of coffee. all that said, it might be time to look at online-only fees and such. bc this is beyond old.

They might go to retail outlet or a Marshalls, TJ Maxx, but its highly doubtful dumpsters are involved. In a related note, Nike or another athletic shoe company found out that instead of recycling shoes like they asked their partners to do, they were found for sale in various Asian and perhaps other countries.

I'm currently sitting on my ass, watching the end of the Indy 500. the last 30 laps have taken longer than the first 100 or so. but what's fantastic is that I pulled the cover off the TV outside, and I'm sitting under my big oak tree. 🙃 😎 I'm gonna get back to work once the race is over.

Just got back from ulta. Trying to find products that will thicken/volumize my hair. It has been a couple of years since I've had to worry about such things. it's also a pain finding things that work. Thank goodness for trial sizes. I also got myself a new toiletries bag. It's got sesame street characters on it.

Showers, breakfast, floor cleaning, new paper reading - the usual Sunday stuff. DH is grilling chicken tonight with boiled turnips and potatoes on the side.
We stopped the daily paper some years back because it was missing 3-4 days out of 7 and crazy expensive. DH grabs a Sunday edition from the local convenience store and we read some of the more in-depth coverage that TV doesn't offer on some issues. I get most of my news coverage online and DH is a mix of cable news (MSNBC) and online.

With as little as I buy clothes I'm not going to feel the least bit guilty about it.
And now I just remembered I'll probably need shoes too. I'll have to dig through my closet, but I'm pretty sure both pairs of my dress shoes broke the last time I needed them.

I'm taking a bit of a break. I cleaned the music/plant room and shampooed the carpets while DS trimmed and re-potted all the plants and now I'm sweating like a pig. That room was a mess with all the plant "shedding" that had gone on. It smells nice out there now. Someone told me to put fabric softener in the carpet cleaner so I tried that.
Might grab a beer and an audiobook and go mow for awhile.

I just finished planting flowers in my other window box. Zinnias and red kalanchoe. It's insaely hot here, about 90 degrees, here in the Frozen North. I wanted to go for a walk, but heat and cardiac patients don't mix.

We have a Talbot's outlet near me and I've occasionally found stuff there, but it's pretty old style, grandmother of the bride. There's a Chicos there too, but I really don't like their stuff-to me it screams "rich widow looking for new hubby at Miami Beach resort"-lots of bling and super bright colors with matchy-matchy jewelry and pointy-toe ballet flats And their stuff only comes in small, medium, large, and xl, no sizes. I have a huge issue with paying $100 for one outfit, and $35 for tailoring it to fit. I haven't been in a Penney's in years, but DH finds casual pants there sometimes.

Pink Cashmere I am very impressed with Boy's response to Tiny Dog's aggression. Boy did not bring a gun to a knife fight, he responded clearly but with moderation, and that's wonderful for a young dog facing a very new situation where his status was being challenged. I'm not surprised that Boy defended Brother. In addition to Brother being a guest in your home, I suspect Boy can read that Brother is from the same "litter" so to speak as his beloved Mister, and therefore deserves special protection. Dogs get sensory cues in ways we can't fully understand as humans so I'm sure he can tell who your close relatives are. Don't be terribly surprised to see Tiny Dog approach Boy with his head and tail down, maybe try to lick Boy's muzzle, and then roll over exposing his belly to Boy. This would be the correct doggy apology for his disrespect. Here, retail outlets like Marshall's, Dillard's, etc. sell their unsellable items to bulk buyers who often ship them overseas or sell them to bulk recyclers. That's where the "X% recycled materials" comes from on product labels. Our unsellable clothing is a highly marketable commodity for other nations

And the problem has been worsened by breeding for an excessively small size at the expense of intelligence. The original Chihuahua was a very smart animal, much larger than the pocket size we see today. Ditto teacup poodles and other tinies.

Fence war update. Sane guy set the posts for his gate and allowed the concrete to cure overnight. Today's he's constructing and mounting the gate. The actual fence between him and Crazy will remain as is, including the gap created when a portion fell some weeks back. He may use the orange plastic stuff to span the gap, or may not.
Crazy's latest demand. She wants a 4' chain-link fence; he wants a 6' cedar privacy fence. She told him she would pay 50% of the cost of a chain-link fence, minus the difference in cost between chain-link and cedar privacy fence. So basically she wants to pay almost nothing, under a $1,000 for 100 feet of fence. Feel free to imagine his response.
To be continued......

DH got side swiped coming off the interstate.
He's fine, Gwen and Charlotte are fine.
Passenger side of the car is pretty banged up. Guy tried to force his way into DHs lane.
The other driver ran.
Glad DH has full coverage.

We have had fence issues. One section blew down that weakened more sections for the next heavy winds. The neighbor woman said her H. got a $17,000 for a new fence. Probably worthless vinyl. Nothing was done. Neighbor lady put up something like chicken wire to keep their dog in. Go through winter. Our back neighbor puts up a section of 6' metal fence behind our/their left over cedar fence. Two sides are metal fence. That neighbor owned the back section of fence since the previous owner did not pay their share. The back neighbor said we could do what we wanted with the back fence. Their property line fences were $5000 each one side and back. Done over a couple of years. It looks classy and expensive. The fencers were finished in 3 hours.
I noticed the neighbor lady's fence was reinforced.
As far as we are concerned, all the fence can be gone since we don't have a dog. The neighborhood was meant to be a green way of yards but too many had kids to contain and dogs. Solution for soupandstew crazy fence people. One does cedar and right next to it chain link. Spit fences.

I may dust and clean the bathrooms tomorrow. I need to do my dreaded dusting. Also put papers away off my end table and the desk. I see why my costs are rising, I didn't think I was in the dreaded donut hole but I am. This is where I "share" costs with the insurance company until we reach $7400 spent. I have $5400 to go. So the Nextlizet is going up next month plus the ozempic and likely all of it, the premarin too. It wouldn't even give me the cost of the ozempic, damn, that means it will go up a ton. Guess I will reach the $5400 quick though. If hubs and I both have to ever spend that much we are in a world of hurt. I looked to see what I can drop, premarin is it. And if I do I go into hot flashes quick. I have missed a few days before and started it, noooooo. We are the only country on earth that does this to seniors and then they talk about cutting coverage for people. Exactly what do you think the U.S. is "doing" to you? How much do you think U.S. taxpayers should pay for your medical care at your income and asset level, and why? Where should the U.S. government (aka us taxpayers) get this money? CG, I am not being snarky, but you have been very open to sharing your net worth, income, and assets here, even posting photos of your lovely homes and possessions, so I don't have a vision of your family as needy in any way. Yet, your posts indicate a reluctance to share in the very substantial cost of your family's medical care. I recall you posting that your daughter's drugs alone cost $25,000 last year. I see the need to improve U.S. healthcare delivery to persons of all ages; I don't often see real-world ideas for accomplishing that.
