We were supposed to go 4 wheeling with friends today, but last night DH decided he is feeling too meh to be around people. He tried to placate me by saying he would do some ribs on the grill today. Not enough buddy. So he will also grill some corn on the cob, which he can't eat, just for me. He plans to mow and weed eat, so looks like today will end up being laundry day for me. Not thrilled about it, but going to give him some mental space. I make no promises on my level of bitchiness if he doesn't give me the same grace. Can you 4 wheel without him? At this point I am more comfortable as a passenger. Plus until we get the hauling trailer DH keeps talking about I am more uncomfortable with loading and loading the 4 wheeler from the truck.

I'm back to almost exclusively thrift shopping again. Styles are horrible.
I can't pull off most 90s fashion anymore and I refuse to look like an extra in Children of the Corn.
Or it all has stupid cutesy sayings all over it.
JcPenny and Kohls are the worst offenders.
Thrift stores can be a pretty good place to find dresses this time of year.
I find my body changing too and I don't like it. I'm becoming more apple shaped around the middle. It's hormones and age so difficult to get rid of.
I'm still underweight overall for my height so the poochy is extra annoying.
I don't have arm flaps yet at least. Destroying my body working physical jobs in labs keeps that at bay at least.

Cover letter is in good shape. I'll do one more review tonight for some detailed wordsmithing and then submit. The peanut is bent out of shape because I guess I'm not cover lettering fast enough. I have one more job application left to do this week. Maybe two. But I'm not interested in throwing spaghetti at a wall to see what sticks. The better bet is going to require me to tweak my resume. Lord help me I still could have a year of this.

Lounging on the couch drinking coffee. Macy has decided that she makes a good blanket. She is sprawled across my lap. At some point I have to get up and make pico, just not yet.

Which has taken a nose dive this week. $550 to $420. I've been on a no buy. Catch me when national lipstick day comes up in July. Well, that explains it. I’ll look to sell in Aug!

I should have never started this puzzle. It's only 750 so I thought easy peasy. It's dogs on a roller coaster. Well it is hard, I mean hard, making progress but its slow. I'm not touching it tomorrow. It's a time waster. I am sewing tomorrow. I hope your fence war doesn't escalate to a shooting war, it happens you know.I've been watching the Deputy series, older I'm sure. It would not be allowed in Florida, I'm sure DeSantis would ban it. There is a character that is not sure if she is a she or he. Apparently no clear line and her boss is telling her or him no matter what they are ok. It's sad when you see something like this brought into the open as some people have to deal with such issues and some governor trying to say it doesn't exist. It doesn't hurt any of us to learn about people and their issues. We are all different. It won't - the woman is crazy but not stupid. Besides, her only gun is the pistol her father brought home from WWII and it's never been serviced. Years back she wanted to go to the range with me and I said no unless she had the weapon fully cleaned and serviced. The range would never have allowed her in. She wouldn't spend the $$ to have the weapon serviced so that was that.

For me, it was kid #2. My abdominal muscles just gave out and what was loose flabby postpartum skin filled in with fat. My arms and legs are pretty lean, it's the damn big gut.
But, I do like to eat, and I'm been glued to my desk for several years and not getting enough exercise, so I'm definitely partially to blame.
Well, I have always carried weight in my thighs. Right now I could stand to tone up my stomach a bit. Yes, I really should lose more, but I just want to look good in my clothes. I could stand to tone up loose & flabby arm skin, but even though Anthem Blue Cross denied me more PT, I still have issues lifting my arms over my head. MPL, not sure why you went dress shopping, but I know my Tiny little Aunt Complained 2 years ago that there just are not very many places to shop in Lacrosse anymore since Younkers went OOB. I think it is like Sams/Kohls/Walmart/Target. That does limit your selection of dressy clothing. Were you shopping at home or in Minneapolis? I have to try stuff on to get an idea how it will look. Since I am petite, few stores have my size in stock. I usually order a bunch of stuff and return the rejects. I will have a Wedding in September. Thank Goodness for Save the Date Cards. This is why I am trying to tone up a bit. I was at Penneys. I don't think I've ever stepped foot in a Younkers or a Kohls in my life. I am just not into clothes shopping...at all. Hate, hate, HATE it.

I don't think I even see the clothes anymore; I just see my body which I don't like and know is appalling to my partner. I know I and I alone am responsible for my size and shape but it hurts. A lot. What does HIS body look like? Does he have muscles and a six pack? His overall muscle tone is pretty good but he struggles with his stomach bulge. That's part of the problem, he obsesses about his own weight and appearance which accounts for the never-ending diets and Golo pills, and exercising, and so forth. He judges himself, and all others, by a harsh standard. I do respect his dedication to exercise which I should emulate. He walks, bikes, swims, does various calisthenics, and lifts weights.

I was stressed enough during the pandemic my body was pumping out the cortisol or whatever it is. I am still stressed, but less than I was so its more poochy and thankfully not apple shaped. I plan to work on my pandemic weight gain this summer and fall. I like thrift stores for the prices. Its trickier for me to shop there now as many around here assume we all have off on Saturday and some close b4 I could leave from work. I'll have at most one Saturday a month to choose thrift shopping or summer & fall festivals. Getting an afternoon shift off is far easier than trying to get one more Saturday off.

One way to go shopping is to go online and put together a mega order of stuff that you want to try on. You can order 2 different sizes, or things that you just want to try on. You’ll be sending most of it back. I HATE shopping, even more so since I can’t find what I’m looking for and no longer have the patience to deal with stores. The last mega order I made was last year, to buy a new dress for my nephew’s wedding. I placed orders of 5-7 dresses each to Talbots and Boden. I had to package them all up and send back, but I could try them all on in my bathroom and see how they looked without the crap of dressing rooms. I chose one, everything else went back.

My sinuses are killing me. Time for everyone's favorite game How many drugs can I take before I tweak my brains out? The ones below my eyes are pretty bad as is most of my forehead. When I could not sleep because of it, I was trying to think what I would try today. I think lots of hot tea. If I had a vehicle, I'd buy one of my fave snacks with wasabi. That usually helps some as well. How many drugs are you taking?

He'd better be harder on himself verbally than you IMO. Its OK to be frustrated what you are trying is not working. Its not cool if you use someone else as target practice because of frustration with yourself. Do you. My mom used to walk every day for exercise. My XH used to golf and bowl. He wasn't big on going to the gym which is something I tended to do several times a week. We both liked to play volleyball as well. I cleaned off my baby weights and will start with low amounts of arm exercises at first.

All I need is ONE thing. LOL I just don't want to be wearing the same outfit in the group picture for formal night that I was back in 2017!

I'm up, farting around on here and FB since I don't have a newspaper. again. when I called this morning to get a credit, I told them I'm about to cancel the subscription that I've had since 2006 (that they thank me for at the start of each call...). the weeks that I actually *do* get a paper always seem to be the ones that I don't have time to sit and read it. I'm over it. I stopped my physical paper because they went to a "toss" route. I don't want to have to find my paper somewhere close to the driveway in rain or snow. For some reason, the city denied putting up the boxes in this subdivision. At least then I would have known where the paper is. The other reason is cost and small town newspapers have little content.

Just finished up a batch of peanut butter bars for DS. We'll send him one more "care package" to get him through. Rice krispie bars, peanut butter bars, fudge, and maybe some cookies. And root beer barrels and beef sticks. ETA: It just would be easier to mail the kid a 5lb bag of sugar and a spoon Side benefit: I now have more chocolate faced pictures of the missy.

We are cutting our cable here. We have basic only for the news basically, nothing else is on it. They just went to $78 a month for this. Hubs and I know you can get it on the roku setup. We have been going to do this for months but $45 wasn't bad, I see it's been creeping up for months and has actually been this much for several and I didn't realize so that is going. I told hubs if he can't live without it we will get a new low priced package later.
After I paid $285 for drugs that last time were $140, well, I'm just sick of this crap. We do pay $140 a month here for internet and landline. If we don't have a landline you can't talk to anyone out here, so pretty much have to have that. We are paying $50 a month for internet in Washington, we got what son has, he said they are guaranteed not to raise. So up there we have 2 roku TV's.
I get a local newspaper, they don't publish one every day now, but it is much more of a paper now than it used to be and actually improving. A lot of money but the only way I know what is going on here. I had to drop the bigger city one, it got to almost $400 a year.
I wish DD would eat fresh fruit, she like her dad thinks it is sour. I just had 4 fresh apricots for breakfast. I bought some of those $7, cherries $10, ouch should have taken some out of the package, 2 apples, $2.72, no wonder the fruit is looking old at our local store. Priced like Olympia where people make a lot more money. Kids will not end up eating fruit. And the canned stuff is $3 a can. Inflation is going good still.
I can't find clothes I like either, that's why I am sewing again. So far in size small I'm finding things for DD. Pennys is the same stuff year after year. But then I don't like the so called styles of stuff anyway. Since losing weight I really have flag wavers under my upper arms, that's the only place but I don't think much can be done about it. I wear tops with sleeves or 1/4 sleeves to help camoflauge them, I need to try and use my weights and equipment, not gardening is leaving me a lot more time. Didn't realize how much time I spent working out there.
I'm just happy I have a ton of nice quality fabrics back. I'm sure Macy's and some of those stores have some good clothing, but we don't have a decent clothing store here. We do have Kohl's but I rarely go there. And expensive clothing is not something I need anymore. Maybe one nice outfit. I have a well made suit in the basement I have never worn but its way to big, cutting it down would be easy in the pants but a jacket really gets to be a job deconstructing it and not worth it. I may break down and buy one in my size in Washington if I find a sale. And shoes we have been ordering online forever, so that won't change.
I slept from 12 last night to 11 this morning. I did get up and feed the cats and let them out then went back to bed and back to sleep. So we are fed now and I'm about to get dressed while listening to the news. Going to watch more of Deputy today while sewing.

Made blueberry pancakes after a nice long walk, doing a last batch of laundry and I cleaned the bathrooms. Trying to stay hydrated and rested for a race tomorrow. Need to be there extra early according to a missive the organizers sent out. Works for me, since I get up early anyway. Planning to meet up with a friend for breakfast post-race. Waiting for the start of the Indy 500 in a few minutes.

I may dust and clean the bathrooms tomorrow. I need to do my dreaded dusting. Also put papers away off my end table and the desk.
I see why my costs are rising, I didn't think I was in the dreaded donut hole but I am. This is where I "share" costs with the insurance company until we reach $7400 spent. I have $5400 to go. So the Nextlizet is going up next month plus the ozempic and likely all of it, the premarin too. It wouldn't even give me the cost of the ozempic, damn, that means it will go up a ton. Guess I will reach the $5400 quick though. If hubs and I both have to ever spend that much we are in a world of hurt. I looked to see what I can drop, premarin is it. And if I do I go into hot flashes quick. I have missed a few days before and started it, noooooo.
We are the only country on earth that does this to seniors and then they talk about cutting coverage for people.

I use liquid Tide at home. I do have some powdered for washing the waterproof coats. Supposedly you shouldn't use liquid with those? I use Shout or blue Dawn depending on the stain. We do use dishwasher pods.
The only time I use Tide pods is when we are traveling. It is much easier to toss some pods in a ziploc bag and go. A container of pods last us years. We always end up washing a couple loads on our beach vacations and in Florida because we've sweated through our clothes.
I actually prefer the liquid to the pods. But the pods are far more convenient when traveling. Pods go in my checked bag to Florida very easily. Not so much with liquid.

Pink Cashmere I am very impressed with Boy's response to Tiny Dog's aggression. Boy did not bring a gun to a knife fight, he responded clearly but with moderation, and that's wonderful for a young dog facing a very new situation where his status was being challenged. I'm not surprised that Boy defended Brother. In addition to Brother being a guest in your home, I suspect Boy can read that Brother is from the same "litter" so to speak as his beloved Mister, and therefore deserves special protection. Dogs get sensory cues in ways we can't fully understand as humans so I'm sure he can tell who your close relatives are. Don't be terribly surprised to see Tiny Dog approach Boy with his head and tail down, maybe try to lick Boy's muzzle, and then roll over exposing his belly to Boy. This would be the correct doggy apology for his disrespect. Tiny dog doesn’t have that much sense. He’s still barking and growling at both dogs, and my dogs aren’t taking it as fun and games anymore. The way DS is about his dog, is like parents with bad ass children who ignore the bad behavior and don’t want anybody saying anything to their child. It’s very irritating. My dogs are on the deck with me right now, but I’m not going to make my dogs stay outside in the heat all day or confine them. This is their home, and tiny dog started this mess, so he can go outside or DS can put the crate we have together for him. If DS won’t teach his dog how to act he’s not going to be able to bring him back over here. This is stressful. Y’all have seen pictures of my dogs, it won’t take much for one of them to hurt tiny dog, even if it’s unintentionally. Both our dogs have been to Mister’s parents’ house and they have 2 dogs, and it was never a problem.

I feel sorry that DS didn't teach him how to be a better dog so he could socialize with his own kind. You are right - Tiny Dog doesn't have the sense to know he's crossing lines so he has to be saved from himself
