I'm doing laundry. I have a party to go to later. Right now I look crazy, but I'm going to be a total catfish later. Of course it's going to be cold tonight when I wear the corset I bought. Have a ton of fun tonight-the corset you showed us was awesome.

I used the 3+ hours that I spent giving the make-up AP Government & Politics test this afternoon making a list of all the projects that I need to do around the house. It is quite a list and is organized by rooms and/or areas. Sitting there, I felt like I could get at least a half-dozen of those things accomplished once this danged thing was over. I came home and did ONE. Admittedly, it was one of the physically tougher things on the list: remove the paper box since there is no longer a physical paper to be delivered even if I wanted it delivered. It was mounted on a bracket to the metal mailbox post, which I plan on painting on the first day it doesn't rain. I have already replaced the mailbox, which wouldn't latch. The screws had rusted until they were removable. I used WD40. I used pliers. I used a drill. AND I FINALLY DID IT! It was a combination of all those things and simply wrestling with it until it came loose. But that was it for my energy. Lol. I might replace the front porch light bulb if it comes back. Great job - I'm really impressed! I can't wait to see a copy of that list with each item ticked off. I'm especially impressed with the fact that you knew to use WD40. As a fellow Ms. FixIt, I'd like to ask if you have a power screwdriver. I'm a firm believer that power tools combined with reference books and YouTube, I can do anything a man with Plumber's crack pants can do. I do feel that something is wrong with combining the word "fellow" with "Ms." but I'm not quite sure what to do about it. Open to all suggestions.

I keep getting alerts that someone has been spotted in our driveway. It’s YD playing with the basketball goal. She doesn’t even like being outside, so she must really be bored lol.

My sole contribution to the DIY talk is "righty-tighty, lefty-loosey" EXCEPT the flush handle on your toilet is reverse threaded and you will crack the porcelain tank if you try to remove/replace with the lefty-loosey

I teach my students righty-tighty lefty-loosey for tightening and loosening their bow. It's usually followed by "Always remember righty tighty lefty loosey. It comes in handy pretty much in any life situation."

I am the ignorant, clumsy person that regularly reminds myself “righty tighty, lefty loosey” when I try to tackle things on my own. I guess I need to make a mental note to just not try to fix anything regarding my toilet lol.

I unknit a sock I started. I learned, I'm not a designer. (In other words, I took a pattern and modified it. Then I understood why folks created the pattern they did. Because what I modified did not look good). So I started again. I forgot how to cast on for a moment. That was a traumatic moment. I know I'm not supposed to have favorites. I might be a little sweeter on the missy. She's like all the best parts of her older sibs rolled up into one person. And given that this is the internet, and the internet never forgets, someone will surely remind me of this as I complain about her teenaged antics.

I mean, I hate unknitting one stitch at a time, frogging it is easier for a significant number of stitches/rows but then I hate picking up stitches to put them back on the needles - unless I'm just frogging the whole thing. DH thinks I'm nuts when I pull out hours of work to start over. Of course, I'm almost never following a pattern exactly as written. My usual MO is: I like the sleeves from that pattern, but not the body stitch (swap for this other stitch), and I want to use this completely different yarn, and my knitting gauge is different so I tend to use much smaller needles, and (some other bunch of alterations)... It's more like inspired by these three patterns.

A few years ago my aunt was putting together some kind of stand using an electric screwdriver. She had a heck of a time. When she was almost done she realized she had the screwdriver on reverse

Why do a lot of hotel rooms still not have covers over the peepholes? I have been to 3 in the last 2 weeks, 2 were Hilton. I know it gets distorted, but anyone on the outside of the door can still look in. That irritates me. Mostly because when I am in a living area I like to be unclothed. I also like other people (except DH) to not see me unclothed.
At least in most places I can stuff tissues in the peephole for privacy. In this hotel it is flush, so I can not.

Well, the smoke-filled air that has arrived from Canada is kicking my butt today. I've been coughing enough that even DS keeps asking me if I'm ok. It's supposed to clear out in the next day or two, or at least be less bothersome, but I can't spend any serious time outside. Even inside the house it smells like one of the neighbors has a bonfire going. Ugh! Sorry to read about the smoke. Have your weather peeps given you any idea how long you will have to deal with it? I know that affects people's health and I would probably be masking as I have enough issues with spring allergies and my sinuses right now. The air is better now, but until the fires are under control in Canada, I suspect this will be an ongoing problem. Since I have issues with too much smoke, I guess I'll be doing my exercising indoors. Just when the weather is getting good, too...

That's Baby Boomers too - "If the kids are alive at five, I've done my job." I liked Jarts. Dangerous buggers though. Got one of my sibs far worse than it ever got me. Memories. I used to LOVE playing with Jarts! I got pretty good at that lawn game too. Frickin' dangerous, though. Amazing no one lost an eye, but believe me everyone paid attention while playing with them.

Hubs slept for a few hours, now he is off to Washington again. That man, I swear he just likes going and doing. I told him be careful, use his GPS, he says oh I know the way anyhow. LOL! I bet he does.
It won't cost as much this time as he is not pulling a loaded trailer, just stuff in the back of his truck. I will be excited to see the mobile, it will look like new I know. He will also like staying in our own place. He can eat what he wants, go to bed when he wants, wash his own clothes, and visit when he wants. He won't care if they visit too.
So tomorrow I plan to finish cleaning the basement, he has another wall to paint, said he will when he comes back. I moved my tri fold mirror out of my sewing room and the cutting table, just not room in there.
So tomorrow, mop the bedroom floor down there and move the bed back in, make it up. Mop the sewing room floor too. And I have boxes to go through of more stuff to get rid of. I piled a bunch of sheets in our bedroom and matched them up. Found some more in the store room, going to do the same and get rid of odds and ends.
Hubs has been putting my books in one of the book cases down there. I really need to take another one down as I likely could fill it too.
Once I'm done with cleaning, the next day I'm going to start sewing. I want to make 2 pair of short summer PJ's. I am not paying $30 and up for pajamas, I have tons of fabric down there. Possibly some shirts and some shorts too. I do not like the short shorts or the cut off tops they are selling either. I also do not like a lot of the fabric, so I'm having a hard time buying any clothing. I found one pair of 10 inch shorts and a red pair, longer at Big Lots, have to try them on. About all I have bought last winter and this spring was Lands End Jeans and one pair of Levis's and a few short sleeved shirts Walmart had on sale for $3 each.
I can probably find nice clothing at the mall in Washington, but I will likely not be happy with the prices of it, so may back out. I live in jeans and shorts anyway, so should be fine.
Tonight hubs and I had a pork tenderloin and corn for dinner. DD had her pot pie from KFC. I tasted it, was really good, she also had cole slaw with it. I have been nibbling since, cantaloup, an apple, 2 raw potatoes. I love raw sliced potatoes to snack on. Hubs had strawberries and sponge cake for his dessert.
Getting toward bed time, need to hit the sack soon. I will let the kitties out of their room. They don't bother me if they crawl into bed with me.
I bought enough nice shorts and tops last summer for DD, she will look nice. I also ordered her a pair of those nice sandals for her. Once we get her hair cut, she should look sharp.

And if I traveled, I would take some with me. I used to have a friend who would cover the peep hole with his thumb, after he knocked. Ridiculous.

Good morning, wise and willing invisipeeps, participating in the adventures of life. Happy Saturday. I hope your day is a respite from the tribulations presented by projects and all goes smoothly and well. And I hope there is ice cream. I've got to watch the ice cream, myself. I don't need to be putting on weight before this cruise. I adore my impact power drill. With it I can fixit anything, I think, except maybe a toilet. Some situations call for a plumber's helper. Works4me, I can imagine you wielding a power tool or two, standing triumphant over everything fixit-ed. I'm glad you made it, daisylu. I'll be thinking of you today. Now I know 300% more about knitting than I did an hour ago. Thank you, giramomma and teen persuasion. It's supposed to rain pretty much all day today. Yesterday was quite nice, though. The sunset gave a lovely show of yellows above and below a wrap of blue-gray.

Already glad I took Monday off, will likely take Tuesday too. Sister and aunt asked me to drive them to a liquor store last night, it is the only place you can even buy beer here (except for restaurants) - I declined. Dad was willing to take them anyway. Explained to them that I quit drinking alcohol and do not want the temptation, especially this week, without going into specifics. They understood.
Everthing today, except for the viewing (10am) and funeral (12pm) is up in the air without a lot of communication. I saw a FB post by a nearby state park that I first visited alone in 2018 when mom and I visited aunt in the nursing home yesterday evening about the mountain laurel being in bloom. DH and I vacationed there last year. It is one of my favorite places, so if everthing else falls apart later today I may go hide out there. It is supposed to rain later, but that actually comforts me. If I had thought ahead I would have gotten a room there for tonight instead of here for 2 nights.
I did allow myself to cry when I was alone last night. That makes 2 5 minute cries this week. Told DH last night that Monday will likely be the day I let go, luckily he is off work Monday and Tuesday, and I have a therapy appointment late Wednesday afternoon.
It is handy, but I sometimes hate that I am so good at putting things in boxes until I have no choice but to deal with them. But my mom's family has so many drama queens that someone has to stay level headed and practical in times of crisis. 😥

I had yesterday off as my mom had her colonoscopy and I was her driver. She got a clean bill of health and is good for 10 years!
When I wasn’t a driver, I did yard work at our house. Mainly, I weeded our front flower bed then pruned some of our scrubs. I also had the thought of taking our 2 fast growing bushes and putting in 2 new slow-growing scrubs. The bushes are right by our walkway so it would be much lower maintenance for DH as he trims them. It doesn’t look good when I do.
Needless all that work with DH cutting the grass and weed whacking in some areas, the yard looks great!!! I’m sore today and DH probably is too.

Waking up. Moon Shadow has already had his pellets, a strawberry, some strawberry tops, and I got out some hay for him as well.(I have a 5lb box of orchard hay inside which I grab from, put in the old 90oz hay bag, and disburse from there over the course of the day.)
Need to make some cold oatmeal for me. The oat milk I ordered through the grocery store seems like a good idea but its weird that I use more oat milk, like 2 Tbsp. than I did cranberry juice to wet down the oatmeal enough for me to eat it. I'm also running low on cinnamon and used my last teaspoon of chia seeds. I like having the chia seeds as additional fiber, but now I need to buy a sizeable package instead of getting it from a bulk bin, (Both grocery stores and the local WFs killed off bulk bins, so it impacts my spending and planning on some things.)
Big goal is to fill out and send some paperwork with the mail carrier today. Doubtful though it will make it there by Monday day. Do have two copies in paper though, so I will put one in the envelope work sent me with paid postage. Rain was supposed to start 9am or later, but its been raining more than an hour from what I can tell. Decided best to just hedge my bets as possible with this paperwork. Maybe later today I will figure out how to make a copy of the form editable, and email that out.
Going to make my oatmeal, eat then complete the paperwork. I'll take my shower after I get it to the mail carrier. Whenever they arrive. Saturday is the most variable on timing. Happy Saturday all!
