TD went on a Highland Forest Walk, he is likely to get rained on, but at least he got to sleep in this morning.   I went to Inverness in the included tour.  I was last in Inverness 30 years ago.  It is nowhere the place it was then.  

The weather has been a combo of me wanting to wear my heaviest sweaters, and sweating like a stuck pig.  I’m just not sure where the happy medium is.  Today, I wound up buying a cotton pullover as the sweater I put on 2 hours earlier was too freaking hot.  

There is a guy on this cruise who has to be pushing 7’ tall.  I got onto the elevator with him and his wife, and his wife was commenting on how bright his bright orange/yellow sneakers he had on were.  He said ‘they don't make my feet look big, do they?’  The elevator opened, I got off saying under my breath ‘not unless you’re Daffy Duck’.   His feet had to be a 16, they were huge!

Mom forgot her curling iron, which is a crisis to her. I did the best I could with my straightener and told her nobody but her will care. She will not know or see most of these people ever again. Bigger fish to fry. I need a nap already.

At the memorial a friend of mine pulled me outside and specifically asked me how I was doing because she knew I was the one holding it all together for everyone else. It really helped to be seen in that moment.

My real processing got delayed by months between holidays and the warning at work I was teetering on the edge.

Even working with the therapist I still don't think I've fully processed it I keep having to set it aside to function the world does not care about your lossI still need to produce.

AAAHHHHH! Good Morning all!!

I went to bed at 1AM when dear old hubby left for Washington. 
Waved him off, hugged, and kissed my old guy and wished him a safe trip. He enjoys having stuff to do like that or he would not do it. Never saw anyone that would take off cross country like it was a walk in the park. But being by himself makes it easy.

The kitties got on his side of the bed and slept all night. I woke up at 7 and could have gotten up, looked at my bed and said no, back I went. Slept till 10. When I got up Tig was stretched out long as he could and asleep, he is a long cat. Smoke was asleep at the other end.  When we went to bed, Tig ran him out of the bed. Not sure when he came back in. He is jealous of Smoke. I think they love our new beds too.

My back already feels better, I hope they are comfy for hubs too.

Before I start work downstairs, need to run to town, have some scrips ready and want to pick them up.

I think I will have smelts tonight, will be another item out of the freezer. And DD always likes spaghetti, I have not fixed her any for some time, so 2 easy meals for us. Ok, time to get busy, need to push the button on my sweeper and let him take off.  

Hubs will be back home before the 27th so he can take us to the airport. We are rotating taking care of the kitties. We may take them at Christmas, will see.

Finished flattening all the boxes of all sizes and loaded them into the car to bring to the recycling center. These would not fit in the (huge) bin we have for bi-weekly recycleable collection. I didn't want to leave them while we're gone.

A scrip is due to be delivered by noon. It's a good thing. I'll need it on our trip.

The PGA Open is on tv. It's raining there, too, but they're playing on. As long as they can still putt, they said.

If you are a tomboy or perceived as one, you probably are already strong enough to ignore the social pressure. After all you followed being you instead of a traditional girly girl because you were not wired that way.

Just more attempted fear mongering. I tend to dress more athletic and less girly fwiw. I had high arches and will probably never like heels unless they are low. 

People aren't cookie cutter. That's the fun of it at least for some of us. I'd ignore her Gira, she probably was a girly girl and doesn't understand anyone who was not like her.

After walking and standing in the rain for some time, got my last bit of HR paperwork to the mail carrier. Moon Shadow is anxious so he's in my lap in fleece. Going to make lunch for me and maybe give him some of his romaine lettuce early. He probably did not like how I flew out the door in pursuit of the mail carrier.

I think you are north of me a bit. Rain in my area of CNJ will stop supposedly around 2 pm and hopefully not restart until 8PM.
But I'm dubious as the rain started earlier than I thought, but a break of 5 hours or so would be nice.

Congrats on listing the records. Have you thought of checking listings from places like whatever the Princeton record shop is called or the big one in NYC?

The thing that boggles the mind is that these people think that teachers would be looking for students to do that. I’m not in education but I have volunteered at my kids elementary school a lot. Teachers have way too much going on to be hunting kids down to transition them. It’s so ridiculous. They are dealing with teaching a bunch of subjects, IEPs, not getting shot and keeping kids safe, dealing with kids who have no food, and keeping a classroom full of kids under control for 7-8 hours a day. And these folks think they are there trying to convert kids to other genders because a girl wears jeans or a boy likes pink? What world do these people live in?

I have no doubt that teachers try/will be supportive to their kids and refer them to a counselor if they ask but this is just over the top paranoia.

FWIW, I managed to watch part of Seth Meyer's show last night. Apparently Tucker Carlson filmed from an undisclosed location trying to sound reasonable. Seth's show had located a fear mongering open to one of Tucker's shows. It was extreme. I'll see if I can find it, because he started with asking a hypothetical about living near a crazy neighbor and then tied it to Canada. Yes Canada. 

These folks have been programmed to fear almost anything and parrot it like gospel truth out in the real world.

Probably true on all counts. I do not have easy access to mailing things out so haven't tried Ebay. Did try the Princeton store years ago about selling in person, but I think if you are set up for Ebay and can easily do the ship stuff - it all works out.

I never got a nap in, but I'm going to grab an iced coffee on my way up north. this late in the day, that should keep me cranking well past when I get back home late tonight.

My hubs is half way to Washington. I can't believe that guy. He drives the speed limit which up there is high. 

We ended up eating at the restaurant in our tiny town, it was packed. Then to get scrips, wow, these 2 I got were $0 they are older meds, but the other ins even charged for those. I forgot to go to the other pharmacy to check if hubs were in. 

I donated canned cat food and 2 kitty beds the cats won't use or eat and they appreciated it. I went to the local Humane Society, they happily take all donations.

Then checked out the new dollar store, picked up a few 4th of July decorations. Got home, changed clothes and headed for the basement.
Won't take long to do that. Want to get some telly program on I can listen to down there.

Need to order grandson something else for his birthday. I got him a nice rod and reel for his birthday, but need to add something to it.
