Once again I overdid it in the yard. Just got done soaking in a hot bath. I'm getting ready to enjoy an adult beverage or three and make some fried chicken. I only make it a few times a year. Pizza Ranch makes the best fried chicken! Our twin grandsons love it! I bought discounted Pizza Ranch gift cards at Sam's Club just lately. DS#2 worked at a Pizza Ranch location all through high school. He was a big kid. 6 ft. 2 in. as a freshman. They put him to work on the pressure cookers making chicken because he could lift the weight. I think he came home with a fresh burn every shift! We had to dispose of the work shirts when he quit. You can't get chicken grease out of clothing. I get excited about fried chicken!

I'm looking at my husband who doesn't like cats. Tigger that rode home with him is plopped on his lap and hubs has his hand on him, they both seem very happy, LOL! I think Tiggy and he bonded on the way home. I have never in all the years we have been married seen him let a cat sleep on his lap. I'm amused. DD said how happy she was to be home. That didn't last long, today she said when are we leaving again mom, I told her not till the 27th of June. I need to see if I got the tickets I can change dates on, I intended to so I can extend it out longer. I just spent $100 on groceries and very little to eat. I bought 2 packages of ground found, not quite 3 pounds, $20, damn. A gallon of orange juice from concentrate, $6.64, 12 sodas $7.99. And on and on. They charge the prices they are in Washington but people there make a lot more money. I noted at Walmart hardly any of the Mothers Day flowers were sold and they didn't mark them down. The roses are turning brown and even some of the other flowers are dying. I don't know how the people that are overweight are maintaining it. Maybe eating a lot of junk. I looked at 2 or 3 different cans of fruit at the grocer, store brand and they all said bioengineered food. I put them back. I will miss raising my own food. I wonder how long that one grocer will stay in our town. The fresh fruits and vegetables you need to buy when they first come in. But hubs said today you know you have to go to the city to do any good, he is right. So going to try going through things we have in the pantry. But I like fresh better. We are both done for the day, cleaned up and fed. I didn't go to Subway that would have been another $30 or more so and we did eat out last night, got sandwiches at the deli and we had those for dinner. I watch our money, no sense wasting it. Going to have to do better with extra expenses, but its doable. Ok, need to fix my hair and wash my makeup off. And yes, I see we have a Denver Mattress in the city so I will check it out. And I feel better now, was totally pooped out. So catching up my laundry. Totally depends who they are, what they eat and their medical history sometimes. It is super easy to be fat on a food pantry diet. It you eat mostly American dried pasta, rice, canned beans, canned veggies, pancake mix, etc. it is a diet high in carbs, high in sugar, high in salt and sometimes high in trans fats as well. And, I think I posted this once or twice before, your body also decides to store extra water on your body if your diet is like this. So very easy to be fat and hungry as well on this, as I know from personal experience.

Someone probably already asked this, but is there a reason, Opti , that you changed your name to be so easily confused with jerseygirl ? I understand that you may not feel as optimistic as you once did, but NomoreDramaQ1015 "solved" the problem of being known as "DramaQueen" by sticking "NoMore" in front of it. Wouldn't that have worked for you, too? You have the right to call yourself by any name you like, but it isn't nice to confuse us old-timers (or simply old people, if you prefer!). Had to laugh at this but in a good way. Name changes don’t confuse me but I’m lost as all get out when they change their Avatar. I see the avatar long before I see the name. Oh and I’m one of those old people. I'm still so in love with your avatar - if makes me smile every time I see it!

But as someone who has posted about wanting/needing to lose weight and being on a medication to help maintain the loss, I'm surprised you made this comment. It's not my intent to cause you grief. I'm just surprised. In most cases, losing weight and keeping it off isn't easy. Especially if you're eating healthy too.

Oh I know its not easy to keep weight off. I can eat well but way to much of it is my problem or was, not for now. I'm just wondering about it with the cost at this point.
But I'm looking at the price of food, good and bad and wondering how some of these folks are able to afford it, so right now I'm thinking of how are they maintaining the quantity. With the tornado we had there is all kinds of extra donations still here, so many are likely supplementing their diet with that. I can't imagine feeding several growing children. It must be really hard. I have never seen food this expensive around here.
And we have many churches here preparing meals for people, so that is probably helping too. In our rather small community there is a lot of generosity. But what we need here is better paying jobs for the younger people.

It's after 2AM, I hope once I finish the prednisone, I can ease back into a better sleep schedule. This is not good, and with changing time zones, guess that played havoc too. And I hope I don't have to take it again for a long time, as it will make you eat also. Only 3 more half pills and I'm done. And only 1 more antibiotic pill and done with those. I do feel so much better. Breathing better and everything.
I will finally vac and clean the inside of my car, it's not bad so won't take long.
Also fixed my Shark robot, there was a sucker stick in it. and I don't think I had it backed in good, so it's charging tonight, hope to use it tomorrow. It's been down too long.
I need to move a little sleeping kitty to his bedroom. He is all snuggled up by my legs asleep. Love my babies.
And DD Was all happy this afternoon and is sleeping well tonight, I'm happy for her too.
I'm on season 2 of Copper now. The show is different and staged around the dates around the time of the civil war, its not bad, got a lot of ins and outs for sure.

Good morning, indefatigable invisipeeps, caring for families, pets, communities and health. Welcome to Sunday. I hope your day gets spent in enjoyable pursuits with time for ice cream. DH offered to take me out for brunch today but I turned him down. It's going to be crazy busy anywhere we might want to go on Mother's Day, plus he's taking DSis and I out for tea tomorrow. So I'm going to make a delicious, delicate Finnish pancake instead and have it with berries. He'll clean up the kitchen and we're good. Yesterday I did set the front gardens to rights, weeding and distributing mulch. Today I will finish setting up the back deck, I hope, and organizing for our trip. One week and two days before we leave. Lit by the setting sun, yachts are appearing on the water fronting the fishing boats and ships. I saw this on my evening walk with Franklin the Dog:

Need to get moving. Took out bacon for breakfast, think I'll just do bacon on some biscuits from Bojangles and some hot honey. Also have a batch of sausage patties that need to get cooked today.
At some point I need to pack for my trip.

I'm up and being productive already, since there wasn't a newspaper in my driveway this morning. shocker. I also need to pack a bag to head up near the office tonight, and figure out my timing for the afternoon. my mom said she would get here by 6pm, so she can feed the pups dinner.

In our rather small community there is a lot of generosity. But what we need here is better paying jobs for the younger people. Grocery prices are definitely a challenge. Without a car my grocery costs are up because I shop marked down meat and produce regularly. I've become an opportunistic shopper going with what I might like if the price is right. Especially if its clearance. Doing the online shopping thing is pricey and you do not know what will be in stock or what won't until it shows up. Since it was hot yesterday, I only requested two fresh protein packages on sale. Both were out of stock, because Saturday is the last sale day of the flyer for this particular grocery store. So, I wasn't all that happy about it, but realized this was yet another lesson on how to shop online. Got very lucky later when my friend from the complex was unexpectedly available around lunchtime to run to the pharmacy. The pharmacy is located in the grocery store, and he had a few minutes he could give me so I almost ran to the meat and frozen protein section to see what I could find. Got one of the other choices I would have made and some frozen fish I could not find online no matter what search term I used. So unexpected success and I made the frozen fish with tater tots for a late lunch.

I have had good success with online grocery shopping as long as I don't do a Monday pick up. I can't do delivery because they don't deliver out here.
I do grocery pick up because they don't deliver here. They did once whey they totally screwed up my order. They had given me half of my order and half of someone else's order. So the manager lived in the next town over and dropped it off on his way home. He brought the entire original order so I got some free food out of it.

I asked for tips on how to do better after these first two rounds. I think I would need to order by midweek instead of waiting until Thursday or so. Plus even if you pick on Wednesday but schedule for Friday/Saturday you are going to get what might be available on your delivery day. None of the deliveries are late, so even during our expected crunch month I would have to go for Saturday delivery OR pickup after work.

If I recall correctly, you had issues losing weight and the only thing that helped you was a prescription. I am overweight, eat healthy foods, exercise, and it does not matter. I'm still overweight, even though I can't eat a 6 inch subway sub in one sitting. I don’t eat Subway because I can make my own, for far less. I weigh more than husband even though he eats 3 times the amount I do in a day. JS ETA : A 6in Subway sub feeds me for 2 days. It is not always about how much you eat.

Once again finnime, today's picture of yachts, etc. was gorgeous!
It also brought a smile as the first thing I thought of when I saw it was what a terrific jigsaw puzzle it would make.

Finishing my coffee and hanging out with Kiddo this morning. DH has to work today. About to start laundry and other random inside chores. Nothing too exciting today.

Prepped fleece for laundry as Moon Shadow's cage needs clean fleece to be swapped in. Doing online church and thinking about what to wear for the day now that we are almost at 70 degrees.
Think I'll do a version of what I had for dinner last night as lunch today.

I got a pretty decent night's sleep (if you ignore the dream of someone riding an Appaloosa inside a building with granite floors) but woke up occasionally to the storms. When I got up this morning I found a couple of small limbs down and 3.5 inches in the gauge. Neighbor's fence blew down again so the fence wars are on for real.
I've mopped 99.5% of the floors - will finish when DH moves to another room.
The week's menus are done and lists made for the two stores I'll hit. I'm so bored with my cooking that I went through my big binder of recipes and selected one new (Korean beef with zucchini noodles) and one repeat (Instant Pot Gumbo). DH says it's not "real" gumbo because it has chicken, sausage, shrimp, okra in it, but he'll eat it when it's on the table and he can call it Cajun-style stew if he wants.

Spent 12 hours yesterday doing dance recitals. Yes you read that right.
Both girls did great. Abby was in the morning. Gwen was in all four performances.
She was pretty happy to have me backstage during the last two performances. Since we're reaching the age where I won't be cool I happily took the request.
Poor Gwen was sad dance was over till Fall which then resulted in a massive existential crisis. I told her let's finish 7th grade before we freak about graduating HS in 2027. Mommy needs time to process that math.
I think having a slow summer will be good for her personally. I said I'm concerned about burn out she does so many activities. Two and a half months of quiet isn't the end of the world

Ugh. Three day weekend and couldn't even get my yard mowed. It's been raining almost the entire time. I think it might have been dry down here yesterday afternoon, but I was in the cities all day delivering flowers and having an early Mother's Day so I could mow today...but it's been raining since 3am. May is rough. I just mowed last Sunday and it looks like a hay field out there already.

I have so much I actually need to do today, but I just want to have a lazy Sunday. Trying to prioritize and just do the bare minimum.

The neighbor was going to line something up, but I haven't heard if she got a date set yet. We have to get multiple horses together to get someone out. Nobody wants to drive out to do one horse.
