In Dublin right now and we are socked in by fog. It is a tender port, and I was supposed to be on one of the first tenders out of here. Instead, I’m waiting in our cabin to be able to go. TD is doing a pub crawl this afternoon, so he hasn’t budged from bed. Last night turned out to be a cocktail party. It was great, lots of finger food and an open bar. The captain on the ship is the same one we had last year when we hung out in Uruguay for 4 days when Argentina wouldn’t let us in. It was a nice set up, and TD got a chance to see the induction cooktop that we use during the cooking class. I was right…..he was all over that! I'm tired and my dyslexia kicked in. I read that as socked by a FROG and was disappointed there weren't more details. Houdini the tree frog would not sock anyone although he was a very determined soul. Was louder than me; that male dumpy free frog had one heck of a voice. RIP Houdini, taken out too soon by a bad transition of normal humidity to crushing low humidity. Frog socks, just because.

For info I called one taxi company that I think specializes in airport runs and not even sure if the owner is located where the business allegedly is. The location of alleged company is less than 1/8 mile from me. Got quoted $110 for a RT of 6 miles total plus one hour of the driver to wait. I don't need a driver to wait more than the time it takes for me to get to the pharmacy window, pay for it and leave. I remember them now. I have called them in the past with a similar ridiculous result. I sounded educated and people assume that means rich too. Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. (Loud buzzer, wrong oh silly one, its like confessing you don't know NJ without saying you really don't know NJ and how easy it is to be educated and not have a job.) Probably will have to Uber or get someone to pick it up and bring it back.

Almost 10, probably should call the Pharmacy and see if they will mail it to me. I have to the end of next week to pick it up. Because of liability reasons they won't even stick it in my grocery order that is being delivered to me today.

Got the anesthesia fog out of my brain this morning at swim practice, then stops for groceries and shrimp and scallops for dinner. Trimmed some hedges a few minutes ago. I'd do more, but it is hot out there. Volunteering at a kids' meet tomorrow (we are doing a swim practice first) so tomorrow could be a long day.

Just got a call that two neighbors blame me for their problems with the City about their houses and I will "pay" the price. I haven't carried in years, but I guess I better start again. I just hope they don't go after DH when he's walking or riding his bike but that's what cowards will usually do, go after the weakest link. I'm pissed and scared. Oh dear!

Someone probably already asked this, but is there a reason, Opti , that you changed your name to be so easily confused with jerseygirl ? I understand that you may not feel as optimistic as you once did, but NomoreDramaQ1015 "solved" the problem of being known as "DramaQueen" by sticking "NoMore" in front of it. Wouldn't that have worked for you, too? You have the right to call yourself by any name you like, but it isn't nice to confuse us old-timers (or simply old people, if you prefer!).

Home Depot was a bust, I'm going to head over to Lowe's a little later. I was hoping to find lavender, maybe I'll have better luck at the other place. the trip wasn't a total lost cause, though. I made a stop at McDonalds for a huge iced coffee and some greasy food. pups split a hash brown.
next up, clean the inside of my car. it's gross.

DH is up. I'm covered up in the recliner because he needed the AC on, plus I was about to take a nap. He turned the AC off, but said he could feel the cold coming off of me from across the room. He ain't wrong. Think I need to go back to bed.

Oh and I’m one of those old people.

Amelia is feeling much better this morning. She and Maddow both slept with me. She had pretty much disappeared to the basement after the vet appointment but she came up at bedtime. Maddow thought he was getting me all to himself and was not happy with her appearance. Jealousy This morning I filled up the car and did the chai run. I sometimes get a brownie. Amelia has a thing for chocolates and she ate more than she should. At least she is hungry.

Can cats eat chocolate? I know dogs cannot. I had a dog get into our Halloween candy (Kit Kats and other chocolate), she had to go the vet and get treated right away.
We saw our first hammerhead worm in our garage this morning. We poured vinegar on it, it kills them. We had lots of them the summer of 2021, did not see any last summer and now they are back.

Started getting some spam emails and spam texts and not sure how at least one of them came up. Really worried me so I decided if it wasn't a poster, changing my posting name and posting pic for now, was prudent. I work very hard for my optimism. It is not natural, but I get better the more times I practice. Things will resolve eventually. They always do. That's what I told my dad when he had to move into his new home after he had fallen and was in a facility when the close happened. It will suck. It will suck a lot. But eventually you will get through it and survive.

Chocolate is toxic, but it really depends on the type and the amount. The smaller the animal, the smaller the dose that will affect them. Milk chocolate candies have lower doses of the caffeine and theobromine (or something like that) that causes toxicity in dogs and cats. Dark chocolate and baking chocolate have more.
Also, some animals can handle it - it isn't a blanket thing for all dogs and cats.
I had two dogs that ate a bag of raisins (grapes and raisins are also toxic), and lab tests showed no elevations in the levels you would expect with ingestion of such food. The vet explained to me that some dogs can handle these toxic foods better than other animals, it is dog-specific, but they always say to never let your dogs have them because every dog reacts differently - small amounts will kill some dogs while others are perfectly fine.

I know you are super busy finnime, especially getting ready for your upcoming cruise, but I was wondering if someday when you have time if you could maybe post a picture or two of the "Whaling Boats" you saw awhile back?
I've never seen one and since you take such awesome pictures, thought your shots of them would be stunning!

I got up late again but hitting it in the yard. I'm in here to cool off. It is 77 out but 81% humidity, that is Indiana, whew.
I have most of the front landscaping weeded and the rose bush trimmed down. I am going to do the other side which is a much smaller space and hose down the porch and quit outside. I think I have already overdone it. I made sure I had toast and 2 fried eggs this morning for protein and to have something solid in my stomach before I started. But I think my sugar is a bit down. I haven't stocked up on things like orange and apple juice yet for when I work outside. I keep it on hand. I also keep something like a PayDay in the fridge for emergencies. It's looking grey and we keep getting warnings, so need to finish as quickly as I can. I also trimmed a little tree of mine so it doesn't hit hubs in the face when mowing. And I pulled all the weeds from the back circle flower garden. I'm trying to get plants in everything that come back each year, perennials. Only 2 came up back there. Something ate my elephant ear bulbs, damn. If I can go another hour, then will clean up and go to the grocer and I'm done for the day.
Next week will have to trim rose bushes in the fence line, but not today.
Wow, sitting down was a mistake, that's for sure.

I remember it being right out front last time. I walked the whole lot, including around back where the small trees are. they must have just not gotten any this year.

Probably will have to Uber or get someone to pick it up and bring it back. Silly question but - does the pharmacy deliver? Many do They do not. Going to ask if they will mail for the future, but might set up the chain pharmacy store across the street as a number 2 alternate for the future. Got super lucky and one of my friends in the complex had a short window to go there and back. So I stopped eating my non dairy dessert for lunch/breakfast and picked up my prescription. Now to eat and hydrate!

My knee seems to get better when I don't sit so much. Upped the knee exercises recommended for knee injury. I did order new knee supports, a tens machine, and wood floor high top bb shoes. The pair I wore last year did just fine yesterday with no slipping. I was foolish to play pb with my knee injury. I used KT tape and a knee support. The after exercise rub down with alcohol helped.

I made it about an hour and totally lost all energy. But I got the rest of the weeding done in the landscaping across the front, the other part wasn't bad. I have 4 shrubs in that, that needed some shaping but not today. I got the rose bush under control which was more work then I thought it would be. I went around the base of the house, hubs sprayed weeds but they were tall so pulled all those.
Then I put my tools up, got the blower out and started it, blew off the drive, sidewalk and front porch. I still haven't swept out the floor of my car.
I'm sure not letting the clean up of my landscaping go like I did last fall, I'm paying for that.
By then all I could do was drag in the house. Got a bath and soaked in some epsom salts, which I think replenished some of my loss. I'm a little better, hope I can make it through the grocer and pharmacy.
I'm having DD go with me, I'm picking up Subway, I can't cook tonight, too beat up. But I can tomorrow. We have a busy week, with doc appointments and other things.
I'm hoping a milk shake will perk me up!!
To do, rest of basement to clean and mop. Car to vac, and clean inside Upstairs to vac and dust More rose bushes down the fence row to trim dead wood out of More shrubs to trim and clean around Rake more leaves out of front landscaping Plant something in back circle planter
Clean kitty bedroom
Get rid of more "stuff" here and continue decluttering. It's getting better when I do it but needs more. There is just stuff in drawers and all over that, yes we might use but damn, we don't need a store.
And at some point I want to paint and clean the floor in the front of my post office, but when?? Every year I say I will and haven't yet. I did get them all done on the outside, so that is good. They were in bad shape.
And the house we hope to get back this week. More work And the motorhome to go over and get ready for selling, work needs done on it I'm sure, lot of that hubs will do.

I still haven't cleaned out the car, or gone to Lowe's. but the pups and I took in a couple miles on the canal and a scenic detour on the way home. the road was completely blocked on the far side of the development, so I had to rely on the map on my phone to find my way through a nearby neighborhood to go the long way around the closure. pups had frozen PB kongs, I had some lunch. I'm now catching up on some SVU episodes. I don't think I'm getting much done today.
