Also I found someone to cut the grass so my dad will stop doing it. He's going to keel over one day. They guy's only charging me $60 for both my yard and my grandma's. I'll take it. that's solid. you've seen my yard, I pay a couple (now) college kids $45 every 3w for cut/edging front and back.

FedEx just dropped off a box of chocolate covered strawberries and cheesecake bites from Shari's Berries. Mothers day gift from DH. 😋 ❤️

I love the way DH looks at me and says "you're still losing weight, aren't you", when I have clearly put 10 pounds back on. Must be the beer goggles. 🤣 I think it’s more like love goggles, and I love it!

Yes. I'm leaving work at noon today to get him to his 2pm appointment. Not really looking forward to it. If you haven't already said, how did it go? Well, I hope!

I made it trough another day of work. I get to do it all again tomorrow and then it's off to my vacation. Actually, I got quite a few things done today, plus work. Still have more to do because some things have to be done on the last day.
Today I had a session with my new therapist. I've been seeing her online since January. She lives in Uruguay so I'll be having in person sessions for the next two weeks. We were discussing what would help me feel better and make me happy. She asked me that. I was a little surprised by some of my answers. I answered very candidly and I wasn't thinking too much, just saying what came to my mind. I mentioned having a promotion at work. That would make me feel validated, and the extra money would be great. Then I mentioned a few other things, experiences, etc. that would make me happy. The last thing I said was "I want a dog". And I really do. I like cats, but dogs are more expressive and full of unconditional love. She asked me what was stopping me. I told her I felt I couldn't have a dog because I live in a condo and I travel for vacation. Sometimes I'm out of the house for many hours. Dogs need to go outside to do their needs.
I started thinking of a small- no bigger than 25 pounds, female dog. Could I train her to do her needs on a pee pad? I would take her out for walks, but I'm not going out at night. And what when I go out for long hours? What about winter and snow storms and ice storms...
Would she get along with Michi? I would prefer a dog to another cat. I now feel I was spoilt with the first two I had, but getting Michi made me understand that cats can be hit or miss. Dogs are more the emotional support and companion I need.
It's just an idea for now. I'm thinking into 2024 for any big changes such as bringing another pet to my life. Even if I end up not getting a dog, at least this made me think, and not automatically close the door to certain possibilities.

My Mom asked me a few days ago if Mister and I are still getting married this month. I didn’t want to talk about it with her, because anything I tell her, I might as well submit as a news story, because she tells every.damn.thing.to.anybody and then wonders why I don’t talk to here.
But getting married has legit not come up since Mister’s Mom died. I haven’t brought it up myself because after my ex-husband and I divorced, I said I wasn’t interested in getting married again because wanted to just focus on raising my children without getting distracted with a man. After my children graduated high school, I was more open to dating and playing, but I still wasn’t interested in getting married because I’d managed to create a comfortable life for myself, and even though it was t much, I was trying to risk what I’d built on my own, by getting married.
I trust Mister, and his income is a lot more than mine. But he has a lot of loose ends that need to be addressed. And now his Dad is part of that, and Mister still doesn’t have a real plan that I can tell. I come here and ask for advice, and tell him what I’ve learned and what posters here said that sent me off to do my own research, and he still wants to do things his way, which he hasn’t even figured out yet.
My money is funny because I’ve missed so much work since last year. But if I had several dollars I’m willing to spend, I would find an elder care attorney and make an appointment and insist Mister go, so we could get guidance and get the ball rolling on everything we need to do to get all our old folk problems addressed legally, to try to avoid even more problems later.
I am not okay with everything being up in the air with his Dad. I need Mister to at least have a realistic plan. Idk his reason for not haven’t mentioned us getting married, but stuff like that is why I haven’t mentioned it. I got my Mom out of my pockets, so now it’s his children and his Dad that has more money flowing out of our household than I’ve ever had. And we need to have a real conversation about money, where our money goes, and what is okay or not with each other, to spend/on give other people without impacting our goals as a couple, before we get married.

Ava I have always had cats and dogs together, except for a dry spell for a few years. You will need to get a dog with a low prey drive (not breed specific but as an individual trait). My dog right now plays with the younger cats. She sleeps cuddled in with an older cat. She doesn't understand why she can't jump and climb.

Also I found someone to cut the grass so my dad will stop doing it. He's going to keel over one day. They guy's only charging me $60 for both my yard and my grandma's. I'll take it. Dad insisted on cutting, trimming and cleaning out the gutters every 3 days for as long as I could remember. His attorney walked to work and walked past my parents house. When dad was 88, the attorney told my mom it was time for him to stop. What used to be a 2-3 hour job was now taking all day because he had to rest so much. So dad found someone and he was willing to pay what it took to get the lawn looking like his standards. I don't know what he paid, but the guy game every 3-4 days. Took a while to get him properly trained, but it finally worked fine and he ended up doing the snow removal, too. My lawn costs $25 for mowing and $60 for snow removal. Neighbor does the lawn. If it was a company, it would be about the same as the snow.

I got caught up today at work and I'm finally tackling my class for an hour a day instead of trying to cram everything to the weekend when I want to do other things. We'll see if it sticks but it's nice to feel caught up. I feel like I'll actually sleep tonight so I think I'll ask dh to take alarm duty.

Yes. I'm leaving work at noon today to get him to his 2pm appointment. Not really looking forward to it. If you haven't already said, how did it go? Well, I hope! Well, he didn't tell me it was hopeless and he should be put down, but it's going to be just an ongoing battle I think starting with getting a farrier out soon to work on him. He also told me to stop the pain meds before he gets ulcers. He put him on something else that is supposedly easier to on the stomach that is also more palatable so he might take it even without doctoring it up with sweet feed.

Have fun and eat a LOT! Oops enjoy the music (she says after actually looking at the link!) I did have fun. Good music, good food and good company. I went with my BFF and a couple we know, both psychiatrists. The musical talent these refugees have is quite impressive. They've only been here a year or two, and most have a pretty good command of both English and French.

I got to the doctor yesterday and I'm starting to have a productive cough and breathing some better. But I'm only doing some things around here. I'm afraid DD might be getting it. She was so cold tonight she has 3 blankets on her. We are supposed to go to the endocrinologist, but I may have to cancel her appointment tomorrow and get her in to our GP. She isn't coughing or anything and doesn't appear to have a fever. i'm still very concerned about her, so will see how she is in the morning.

Ava, I images.proboards.com/v5/images/bbcode/justify-center.pngdon't know. Cats are less work then a dog. And dogs have to be trained. My DIL has to be around or son, to make sure theirs are walked at least twice a day and more often to relieve themselves. Her one dog was super high energy and she is about 4 to 5 now and finally calming down enough they can let her out to potty by herself. But they also live on 2 acres. They know I will keep grandson but I can't take care of the dogs too. I know a lot of people leave their dogs in crates all day, but I personally don't like to see that. Why don't you wait, I honestly don't know if that's something you want to deal with. Just my thoughts. It took me a couple of years to get over my wonderful BJ's puppiness of chewing things up. And I took him to obedience training too. He did well but at that time I was a stay at home person and he was an outside dog that could come in. And some dogs are easy to train and some are not so there is that to keep in mind. I don't know where that images proboards line came from? I didn't try to insert it, must have hit an oddball key.

Good morning, adventurous invisipeeps, aficionados of music and foods and other joys of life. Happy Thursday. I hope your day goes just as you have planned except with some surprise extra good snuck in there. I'm on a train headed north. Will soon be in Baltimore. I should reach my destination at about quarter after 1:00. This is "my" Tesla. Loved it. It was a little disconcerting at first to not have a true brake pedal, but I got accustomed quickly. It drove very well. I really liked the central control screen and its window showing other traffic around me, and the fact that it beeped when a traffic light turned green. Easy to drive. We were just getting to know each other when I had to leave it behind.

Popped a migraine pill first thing this morning. Third time this week which is a lot for me. None have been bad headaches, but my tolerance for dealing with anything extra is low.
Today I get free lunch party on my account manager. We shipped the last of the main hell account units on Monday, now all that's left is a few hundred spares, so workload has dropped considerably. I kind of don't know what to do with myself quite yet especially early mornings where before I had all these 8:15 deadlines to get things out.
Tomorrow I took off. I'm going to take the van in to get it's snow tires off so I'm not destroying them this weekend delivering flowers and then get a little housework done. Maybe mow again. It's growing like crazy now.

I'm not feeling it, but I'm going to do it today anyway. We've been having a heat wave and it's just draining. Like 95 by 11:00 AM. A storm system is moving in and the weekend highs will be in the seventies, and I will be in heaven!

Ok, I made the muffins and they were delicious! Wasn’t quite sure how to mix melted butter that was still warm with cold buttermilk and the egg but it all turned out pretty good. Thanks again for the recipe, family says it can go into regular rotation.

finneme I have a Tesla S and have a regular brake pedal. Your rented Tesla didn’t?? What model? What is used?
I can just take my foot off the accelerator and the car slows significantly but still use a brake. At first I was surprised at the slowing that’s different from an ICE car

My little dog is making offerings to my big dog. I caught Charlotte chewing on my slipper. I took it from her. Wilbur gets off the couch, retrieves the slipper and brings it back to Charlotte. I thought Charlotte would be a good role model. Was not expecting it to go the other direction.

At first I was surprised at the slowing that’s different from an ICE car THere's a pedal but not for braking; it's for starting and going into R or D. You stop just by no longer acclerating. It actually worked well. Paired with the car's resistance to getting too close to other vehicles, it works great. ETA: It was a Y model SUV.
