Just so you know, bean29, bok choy is great to add when you make stir fry. Dang, now I'm in the mood for stir fry... The weather is perfect, the kind we waited for all Winter. We might actually hit 80 degrees today. Yes, we always add it to stir fry. Also DH makes a Chicken Soup that he adds Bok Choy to. It is very good. MIL always adds cabbage to beef vegetable soup. I think it makes the broth taste very good. Glad your weather is so nice. We are supposed to have a good day too.

Getting ready to sail away from London. Today we went to the Tower if London, and the coronation jewels were just returned yesterday, so good timing on our part.
This is a whole different cruise. TD just went downstairs to figure out how much we drank on the WC. The 2 of us had a combined 330 drinks over 138 days. At an average of $8/drink, we would have paid $2640 for alcohol. The package would have cost us $50/day or $6900, so we drank less than half the cost. This runs in line with what we have charged on other cruises.
Anyway, with an all aboard time of 3:30, we were supposed to sail at 4 but apparently we are 2 passengers short. They’re gonna have to figure out how to get to Dover next.
Last night, a very hot shower, a muscle relaxant and an early night seemed to have helped my back/hip issues.

holy hell... and thanks for the reminder to use the door stop lever thingy when I'm in my HGI room on Sunday night! I just watched a tik tok about a woman who had a terrifying hotel experience and she showed this door jammer thing. It's in my Amazon cart now and will be going with me on my business trips from now on. www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRKMYPxp/a.co/d/1em4f8AI have the door jammer and what looks like a door stop but is actually an alarm. I mostly stay at Hilton's. Things like this happen at all brands of hotels.

I’m at work and just realized we never put the new license plates on the Jeep. It’s been in a kitchen drawer since we renewed it before they expired LAST SEPTEMBER!
And it’s obvious they are expired because the state issued completely different plates last year.
My employer can and has given employees tickets for expired tags on the parking lot. And when I get off work it’s a long drive home and I have to drive through downtown.
Uh oh!

Four loads of laundry. That is what I have been doing this morning. Can't say I enjoyed it but at least it is done.

We got lucky again and the bad storms overnight and this a.m. went to the south and east of us, mainly impacting the coastal areas. This morning one area had 938 lightning strikes in 30 minutes. As of noon, I had 2-1/2 inches of rain and it's dripping again. Tomorrow morning's outdoor press conference was converted to an indoor private meeting with press conference at a later date (hopefully when I'm out of town )

I repeated my spicy food sinus clearing at lunch today with the red salsa at a local restaurant. It was extremely effective. When the server came over to inquire if he needed to call emergency services, he said yesterday a customer complained it was too mild, so the cook ramped it up today. Boy, did he ever. He left ALL the seeds in the jalapenos and used mostly red ones. No, they don't get milder as they ripen. But I am breathing freely.

Back from the vet. He was kind of a condescending ass. Yeah, I fucking know my pony is fat and I know it's contributing to the problem, can we move on from that? It's been an ongoing battle forever. At least now I have a number because they put him on the scale. He's 307 pounds.
I don't know that we accomplished too much today except get a lot of baseline measurements and angles from the xrays. I need to find a GOOD farrier and get him out here ASAP. I think that Amish guy messed up his angles and exacerbated the problem, he left too much heel. It's just so hard to get someone out, especially for just one horse. Plus they want him trimmed every 4 or 5 weeks now. Ugh. I seriously wanted to ask them if I could just leave him there. You guys get your farrier to work on him, weigh his food, put him on the hot walker...then in a few months I'll pick him up.

I made it back home without getting a ticket. Whew! When I got home I went straight to the kitchen drawer and changed the plates right then, to make sure I don’t forget.
I do not like my stuff out of order when I’m driving, because I prefer not to have to deal with the police. And if I do have to deal with them, I don’t want to give them any excuse to act a fool with me. I’ve been like that most of my adult life. And those tags today were screaming “Look at me Officer, look at MEEEEE”. You didn’t have to be close to know they were expired because they were the wrong color.
Anyway, I’m glad to be home and sitting on my butt. I’m sitting in the garage with the door up because it keeps raining off and on and the deck is wet. I tried to let the dogs come out with me, but Boy has to have a leash because he’s unruly, and he wanted to run around with Newbie, and I didn’t feel like wrestling with him. So they’re back in the house and I am enjoying listening to the birds chirping.

It's a shitty equation - an animal that has too much pain can't move so burning fewer calories, but you still need to provide adequate nutrition. What's Gus' target weight? I hear you on the farrier problem - single horse barns are always last on the list and highest on the price chart.

It sounds like he can’t get around to do whatever horses do to help them not be overweight, is that right? I’m sorry Gus isn’t feeling well and that you are having issues getting him the help he needs.

The foot problems are partially from obesity and the obesity is partially from the foot problems. He can't be out on a big pasture to run around because he can't have grass. It's too rich and will cause him to founder, but he also needs exercise, so he's stuck in a little dirt lot. And of course now he's too sore to get him adequate exercise. I need to start taking him for walks like a dog basically, but he also needs to get his feet pain under control.

So, last night when I got home one of my neighbors handed me three big grocery bags of produce. Lettuce, corn, and one we had to use google lens to identify. It was baby bok choy. Don't tell my neighbors, but our rabbits are quite pleased with their treat. LOL. I am too, b/c I needed something to feed them. I still had a head of cabbage, but the bok choy I just had to trim the ends off and give it to them. I am going to the grocery store today to buy a bag of fresh green beans for them. Green Beans are pretty much their favorite. I usually give Cabbage or Kale with 4-6 green beans and a handful of Timothy Hay every am and pm. They eat the green beans first. I am having a hard time keeping up with my household cleaning and decluttering. Retirement cannot come soon enough. High inflation is bad for my retirement prospects. hopefully it will slow down again. Nice. Baby bok choy is more tender than the full grown version. You must be in the south for corn already. Its cool the rabbits like green beans.

Will the Amish want to borrow him again if he gets more on track? Hang in there Gus!

There's a lot of quotes about pursuit of a perfect outcome being the enemy of a potentially good outcome. IMHO, vets tend to focus on the perfect outcome (lose 50+ pounds) versus a realistic outcome (drop some weight, get hooves reshaped etc.) I faced this with our last pet and it was devastating. They seemed to lose interest once he became old and health-challenged. That just didn't work for their business model.

Getting ready to go get my hair cut. I think I'll have her thin it out too since it's so hot. It will be in a ponytail or bun for the most part over the next few months. At least if it's thinned out there will be less of it on me the few times I wear it down.

Also I found someone to cut the grass so my dad will stop doing it. He's going to keel over one day. They guy's only charging me $60 for both my yard and my grandma's. I'll take it.

Unless both yards are teeny tiny, that’s a bargain! I pay my yard guy $65 to cut the grass at the other house. When we moved here, he cut the grass here exactly once. He charged us $180. Uhhhh, I appreciate you, but your services will no longer be needed at this address. Let’s just keep doing what we’re doing at the other address, and erase this address from your memory, please and thank you.

I love the way DH looks at me and says "you're still losing weight, aren't you", when I have clearly put 10 pounds back on. Must be the beer goggles. 🤣
