Does anyone know if there is any reason not to use a knee scooter vs. Crutches? And those who have used them best/worst parts? While I've never used one, my aunt did for a long time. My understanding is the difference in upper body strength--the scooter is easier-- plus being able to sit down at any time.

Accident? Most deletions have a failsafe built in....'Are you sure you want to delete this?' I have failed to pay attention a couple of times when that came up and still deleted something that I didn't mean to. We are human, guys. We make mistakes. If you've never made one, I commend you . . . while not believing you. That's not the point. No one is saying mistakes don't happen. The point is--at least for me-- Blonde Granny 's consistent refusal to have any dialogue with anyone when it comes her "moderation".

So Carrot got back from his campout this morning, took a shower, practiced piano, played PS5 for a few hours and then was going to take a nap so he could stay up late to watch American Idol with me tonight. That was at 2:30. I've tried to wake him, I vacuumed the house around 5, the dog was barking to beat hell around 6, I made him his favorite dinner, I made brownies, I begged, I pleaded, American Idol is now half over.
He aint getting up...

Good morning, all. Up early for my first day at work. I guess the new person jitters never go away. I will be chanting affirmations to myself on the 15 minute drive… I want to ask you how it went because it's 6:00 pm where I live, but I think you're still there. So, you keep working, and let us know later!

My baby has been asleep. Had to get him out of our bedroom so hubs could go to bed. Put him on his blanket on the couch, he went in and ate a bit, then came in and climbed on my lap. Put his little head up for kisses and cuddles, now is laying beside me going back to sleep. His paw and leg is no bigger, think it might have went down a bit. He is no longer squirming all over trying to get it in a comfortable spot, so seems to be helping him. I'm thinking he tried to grab something like a wasp and got stung. Will see how he is tomorrow, just love my little Smoke.

I think he will. He still looks totally beat and says his head hurts. He was starving though since he hasn't ate since pop tarts for breakfast at camp.

Ok, we aren't the moderators. Let Laura ( moon/Laura) handle it. Accidents DO happen. Yes, they do. And understandable. Apologize and move on. But moon has been very vocal about this issue and transparent. And I have not seen anything from moon today. Maybe I missed it? No, I've been out of the house all day. First with my camera, and now I'm roller skating for the first time in like 25 years. I'll be back again later, or maybe tomorrow. I'm beat.

Be careful moon/Laura! I remember going ice skating with DS when he had a school field trip, when I hadn't been on skates for over 20 years. I didn't fall, but my center of balance had changed a LOT over the years.

So tired. Scooter purchased and assembled. Still a Learning curve but I think it will be better than crutches at school.
I had finally rescheduled her bday party from November when ds was sick and we didn't want to risk passing it on especially if it was covid. It's a pool party though so that's almost guaranteed canceled again. Plus she was finally getting her confidence back at the dojo. I hate the set back.

To bed earlier tonight, its 1 but better then 3 or 4, small steps.
I finished my blue shorts, have a blue and white blouse to put buttonholes in and sew buttons on. Cut out a pink and white pullover type top. I have solid pink, same type of material for the shorts. I picked the pattern pieces out, cut them out and pressed them. They are ready to pin on the fabric and cut tomorrow, was too tired to do that tonight. This pair has pockets and an elastic waist, so extra pieces to cut out, just takes a bit longer to make. I like the looks of them.
I have the bicycle fabric that will also go with the blue shorts I want to cut out also.
I found some cute shoes a pair of yellow and also in green but looks like they are some chinese company. One time I ordered something from a place like that and they said you could return if it didn't fit, the shipping back was a fortune, so not taking a chance on those. Not really sure where they were shipping from.
Ok, off to bed. Kitty seems to be ok, he is sleeping good, so maybe by morning he will be better. He is just so sweet. I love them both, when Smoke isn't laying on my lap, Tigger runs over anymore and jumps up and tries to curl up like Smoke does. But he is a lot bigger. Still I kiss and love him too, he just can't purr loud enough. I think he is a bit jealous, I have seen him watching when I talk to Smoke and kiss his head, so I talk to him and do the same. My boys are spoiled.
Night all!

Good morning, you fonts of erudition visiting me through the ether on my laptop. Happy Monday. I hope your day fulfills all its promise for you. And I hope you enjoyed a great first day on the job, mamasita99. We're back at B's after our little retreat. Today I need to find a lender for the house purchase, get the bumper of the car looked at by a body shop, do some grocery shopping and unpack both from our trip and from our move. At this moment I'm listening to DH snore (his CPAP isn't working) and eating my daily dose of sugar dressed up as Jelly Bellies.

Wide awake. The zoo wore me out so I fell asleep really early on the couch. Now I'm up. I've been trying to get back to sleep for the last half hour to no avail.

Good morning! We're grocery shopping today and that is all that's on our agenda. Based on the sales, we're going to at least two stores, though. Maybe we'll get my car washed while we're out and about. The pollen has collected on it so much it looks like it has a fur coat on! Hoping you all have a marvelous Monday!

Finally got some rain yesterday, which cleaned off the car. But dang thunder woke me up in the middle of the night. It shook the house, and with the bedroom window open it was super loud. The forecast made no mention of possible thunderstorms.

Hi everyone!!!!
I'm not going to go into details, but there was a crisis in my family and needless to say I didn't handle it well.
At my old age of 77 one would think that I would have had more experience. I failed to notify Moon until it was too late and the upheaval here was well on it's way.
Have a good week everyone...
BG.

My understanding is the difference in upper body strength--the scooter is easier-- plus being able to sit down at any time. A knee scooter is good for needing to not weight bear on a foot. Crutches get old fast, especially when you are not supposed to bear weight on a joint. The first few weeks on crutches, you quickly learn how much of your weight gets shifted to your upper body as your arms, shoulders and hands ache.

We spent the morning in Passau today, walking through the old city. Our guide told us a story, of 2 5 year olds playing next to the river and fell in. One managed to get out, and grabbed the arm of his friend Aldi, who was starting to drown. The boy who saved the Aldi turned out to become a Catholic priest of the local church. Aldi was Adolph Hitler.
Passau is another gorgeous Bavarian town. After our tour, we stopped to listen to an Mozart concert on the organ at the local cathedral (which was quite spectacular, even under all the scaffolding). On our walk back to the ship, we encountered a crowd around a woman who had fallen on her face. She was quite bloody, and as there were sufficient people around her to help, we decided not to add to the confusion. Needless to say, my hiking poles have gotten a lot of use.

My goal right now is to just be productive for the next hour. I anticipate setting several of those goals for today.

Well, shit!
The hotel manager just called me. One of the women we are traveling with (the one whose husband died last fall) passed out on her excursion to Salzburg. She was taken to the hospital there to be checked out, it’s uncertain if she’s going to be able to catch the bus back to the ship.
TD is off riding a bike on an excursion, and the other couple are no where to be found. I’m not sure what we could do to help, but hate that she’s in the hospital alone. Viking has said that if she can’t get the bus, they’ll make arrangements to get her back to the ship. Our next stop is Melk, Austria.
